2.75/1(+8%) | (10) Sugaree 2.75/1, Twice-raced filly. Left debut form behind when third of 12 in maiden over C&D (good, 16/1) 34 days ago, suited by increase in trip. Stable having good spell. Another bold show likely. Strong staying third in C&D maiden last month; potential improver and likely to go close. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AIRD ran well on debut and should improve from her recent reappearance, when performing well. From a smart Shadwell family, she was beaten a length and three-quarters by Scarlett O'Hara at the Curragh but stayed well and progression is very likely. Sugaree was similarly beaten a length and three-quarters by Scarlett O'Hara here in May and while she, too, is well-related, is open to less progression than the selection, having had a run the previous month. Astar has been frustrating and while vulnerable to progressive types, is by Sea The Stars so stepping up to this distance is likely to bring about some improvement. World Peace showed little on debut but is by Frankel and hails from a top-class female line. Regally bred Deadly Nightshade is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Above The Curve and is out of a half-sister to Giant's Causeway but makes a somewhat belated debut and has no big race entries. Alalcance is a half-sister to two winners but also debuts.
Preference is for AIRD, who was returning from 8 months off when an encouraging third at the Curragh recently and remains open to improvement. Astar and Sugaree rate the principal dangers.
The verdict goes to AIRD who ran on to good effect on her most recent start at the Curragh and looks capable

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AKKADIAN EMPEROR concedes plenty weight but met interference here on debut and could be capable. Out of an unraced half-sister to three stakes performers, he was only 4/1 on debut and was staying on from off the pace until hampered in the final furlong. The fourth-placed horse won well subsequently and the selection should improve. Mary The Priest beat Port Louis by a half-length at the Curragh on May 1 and both have won subsequently, are dependable and ground-versatile - although Port Louis is now 4lb better off. Sea Singer finished nicely on debut and can progress, while Hispanolita was green on debut and is also open to progression under a light weight. Lightly weighted Sli Na Ghealai's unraced dam is a sister to Irish Derby winner Soldier Of Fortune. Declan McDonogh does a light weight on Basilah Bear, a half-sister to two Italian winners, while better-bred stablemate Alpha Cephei is a half-brother to Group 3 and Listed winners but is the apparent second string. Dramatic Entrance's dam is a half-sister to the dam of 2,000 Guineas winner Night Of Thunder but failed to sell at 45,000gns at an April breeze-up sale. Cloud Seeker's half-brother was a juvenile winner.
AKKADIAN EMPEROR was a pretty big eye-catcher at this venue last month, finishing with running left, and it would come as no surprise were he to take a leap forward. Mary The Priest and Sea Singer set the solid standard.
A chance is taken on HISPANOLITA, who is getting plenty of weight and should be sharper on this second start.

Good shout if recapturing the form she showed when second in a 1m course handicap off 2 lb lower in April. Runner-up in a 1m handicap on heavy here in April; well beaten twice since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (16/1 +0%) Storm Eric |
16/1(+0%) | (8) Storm Eric 16/1, Bit below form twelfth of 24 in handicap (25/1) at the Curragh (6f, soft) 52 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Back up in trip. Dundalk winner in April; draw is a slight negative but good enough to have a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (25/1 -25%) Sense Of Security |
25/1(-25%) | (13) Sense Of Security 25/1, Winner at Kempton in January. 10/1, eighth of 12 in handicap at Listowel (7.1f, good to soft) 19 days ago, doing too much too soon. Good run in a sprint handicap at Navan in May; capable sort that is versatile as to trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (40/1 -21%) Turbine |
40/1(-21%) | (3) Turbine 40/1, C&D winner. Ninth of 13 in handicap at this course (9f, good, 9/1). Off 10 months. First run for yard after leaving C. Moore. Cheekpieces back on. Not seen since down the field over 1m1f here in August; best watched this time. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (6) (10/1 +29%) Chrismoltisanti |
10/1(+29%) | (6) Chrismoltisanti 10/1, 11/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, bit below form eleventh of 21 in handicap at the Curragh (6.3f, good) 15 days ago. Not a bad return to action in a competitive Curragh handicap two weeks ago; each-way claim. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Both AMANIRENAS's wins have been over this course and distance, on good ground. A winner when rated 67 last July, she lost form subsequently but was a comfortable winner here last week and while she carries a fixed 7lb penalty (and runs from her correct rating), her same rider claims an extra 3lb today. Fastman has run well twice here recently and has obvious claims, although dropping a furlong isn't ideal. Storm Eric is an all-weather winner who might not have been suited by soft ground at Cork. He should be better suited by both this surface and today's extra furlong, and competes from just 1lb higher than his winning Dundalk rating.
A chance is taken on April's course second MAGGIE AND ME who had an excuse last time and could be dangerous if getting away on the front end. Amanirenas won readily here last week and should go well under the penalty. John McConnell's Fastman, another with recent course form, completes the shortlist.
Preference is for top-weight FASTMAN who has suffered two narrow defeats in better handicaps over 1m here and deserves a change of luck

2nd (8) (6.5/1 -189%) Cnodian |
6.5/1(-189%) | (8) Cnodian 6.5/1, Didn't need to improve to win 14-runner handicap at Limerick (6.7f, good to soft, 5/2) 8 days ago, driven out. Remains fairly treated and worth a chance to follow up. Got run of the race from a flag start at Limerick last time; this tougher off 5lb higher. |

7/1(-40%) | (1) Benavente 7/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2021. 16/1, seventh of 17 in handicap at this C&D (good) 14 days ago, left poorly placed. Can make more of an impact if things drop right. Placed thrice on AW in spring; not a bad run from a long way back over C&D last time. |

7th (2) (11/1 -57%) Church Mountain |
11/1(-57%) | (2) Church Mountain 11/1, 10/1, bit below form tenth of 16 in handicap at Navan (8f, good). Off 10 months. First run for yard after leaving Denis Hogan. Worth monitoring in the betting. Three-time winner is still 5lb above his last winning mark but could run well on return. |

16/1(+27%) | (5) Relevant Range 16/1, Winner at Dundalk in March. Fourteenth of 20 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, good to soft, 25/1) 27 days ago. Others more persuasive. Dundalk maiden winner was below form in a Curragh handicap last time and needs more. |

First run for yard after leaving K. R. Burke. Must improve. Two solid runs in lowly nurseries when last seen in UK; gelded since; new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BENAVENTE ran very well in a more competitive handicap over course and distance recently. An eye-catcher on career debut in a hot 2020 maiden, he has yet to place in six turf runs but is well suited to a mile and stayed on well late on here recently, having raced keenly. He has dropped 2lb and this looks winnable. Cnodian got the rub of the green when rain arrived and the stalls were taken away at Limerick recently and while just 5lb higher, would prefer easy ground and has a largely exposed profile. Zero Fighter is an unexposed three-year-old but steps in in grade having won an ordinary Roscommon claimer last month. Fellow three-year-old Jim's Cracker stayed a mile as a juvenile and is probably best watched on reappearance at this same distance.
CNODIAN impressed with the way she travelled when scoring at Limerick 8 days ago and she's still well handicapped on past efforts, so she gets the nod ahead of Zero Fighter, another last-time-out winner. Benavente is another one to consider.
Though it was only a claimer that he won last time, ZERO FIGHTER looks an improving 3yo and can follow up with Colin Keane aboard.

4/1(+0%) | (5) Semblance Of Order 4/1, Winner at Sligo in April. 20/1, very good second of 15 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good) 26 days ago. Blinkers replace cheekpieces and looks well treated up just 1 lb. Fine Curragh run; effective over this trip and blinkers are tried; one of the ones to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (10/1 +60%) Encosta |
10/1(+60%) | (7) Encosta 10/1, Winner at Down Royal in September. 14/1, last of 11 in handicap at Naas (8f, good to firm) 32 days ago. SHould step up on that. No show in a Naas handicap first time and needs to step up but capable on last year's form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (4/1 +20%) Dawn Session |
4/1(+20%) | (4) Dawn Session 4/1, Career best when winning 13-runner maiden at Gowran (9.4f, good, 3/1) 17 days ago, keeping on well. Drop in trip not sure to suit for handicap debut. 83 looks a fair mark although did not look last time as though he wanted a shorter trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/1 +29%) City Exile |
10/1(+29%) | (6) City Exile 10/1, Good third of 11 in maiden (8/1) at Tipperary (7.5f, good) 23 days ago, running on. Blinkers on first time. Makes handicap debut. Third over just short of this trip at Tipperary; blinkers now fitted and place claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/1 -25%) Hero Blues |
5/1(-25%) | (2) Hero Blues 5/1, Much improved when winning 14-runner maiden at Fairyhouse (7f, good to firm) 13 days ago, well on top finish. Makes handicap debut and there's more come, particularly over 1m. Fairly handicapped but the step up to 1m should suit and more improvement is likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (16/1 -45%) Ninth Life |
16/1(-45%) | (8) Ninth Life 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 12/1, good fourth of 10 in maiden at Cork (8f, good) 36 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Open to improvement and one of two for the stable here with similar chances. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (16/1 +20%) Slieve Binnian |
16/1(+20%) | (10) Slieve Binnian 16/1, Career best when winning 11-runner nursery at Dundalk (8f, 10/11), soon clear. 12 lb higher now on return to action. Bolted up in a Dundalk nursery when last seen in November; big run would not surprise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (8/1 -100%) National Emblem |
8/1(-100%) | (1) National Emblem 8/1, Promising individual. Sixth of 11 in handicap at Naas (8f, good to firm, 5/1) 32 days ago, hampered. Open to progress. A bit disappointing on his return to action at Naas last month and capable of much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (5.5/1 -10%) Mere Accountant |
5.5/1(-10%) | (9) Mere Accountant 5.5/1, Good fourth of 11 in handicap (7/1) at Naas (8f, good to firm) 32 days ago, never nearer. Visor on first time and mark is workable. Form of her two runs at Cork and Naas ties in favourably with a couple of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (25/1 -25%) Cosmic Invasion |
25/1(-25%) | (3) Cosmic Invasion 25/1, Third of 5 in minor event (10/1) at Listowel (8f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Makes handicap debut and mark asks for more. Third in a conditions event at Listowel; down 5lb and no surprise should she run well. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
This is a minefield for punters. Andy Oliver's SEMBLANCE OF ORDER is a gritty competitor who keeps running his race and he is just 1lb higher after getting to within a head of his stablemate in a good handicap at the Curragh last month. He gets first-time blinkers, while National Emblem's maiden success at Gowran Park last summer has been well franked. He made his seasonal reappearance, and handicap debut, in a slightly higher grade at Naas last month and is entitled to come on from that sixth-placed finish. He has been dropped 2lb by the handicapper and Scott McCullagh claims 3lb. Hero Blues has to enter the equation after running on well to land a Fairyhouse maiden just under a fortnight ago. Slieve Binnian is markedly up in class, but was impressive in winning by a wide margin at Dundalk in November. Dawn Session won his maiden over further at Gowran Park which will help his cause if this turns into a battle.
SEMBLANCE OF ORDER is more exposed than some of these but last month's runner-up effort at the Curragh was a career-best effort and a 1 lb higher mark could turn out to be lenient. National Emblem has a bigger performance in him and he's a threat, along with Mere Accountant.
No horse is on more of an upward curve than SEMBLANCE OF ORDER after a narrow failure in a good Curragh handicap last time

50/1(+24%) | (18) Init Together 50/1, Thrice-raced maiden on Flat. 200/1, sixteenth of 17 in maiden at Gowran (9.6f, heavy) 65 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time in this code. Makes handicap debut. Little to recommend over hurdles or in three Flat runs for this stable; makesno appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (14) (8/1 -14%) Rampage |
8/1(-14%) | (14) Rampage 8/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, good third of 14 in handicap (10/1) at this C&D (good) 7 days ago. Can open his account if in the same form. Runner-up here; one of two good chances for the stable although the draw could be better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (17) (12/1 +76%) Gloves Off |
12/1(+76%) | (17) Gloves Off 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 6/1, twelfth of 15 in handicap at this course (8f, good) 14 days ago, racing off the pace and never a threat. Remains early days at least. Little to recommend in three maidens and a handicap so pretty hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (15) (12/1 +45%) Selective Power |
12/1(+45%) | (15) Selective Power 12/1, 10/1, creditable third of 17 in handicap at Gowran (9.4f, soft) 43 days ago, no extra last ½f. This slightly lesser test may help. Good run at Gowran; should stay if he settles although the draw could hardly be worse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (18/1 +28%) Shining Aitch |
18/1(+28%) | (6) Shining Aitch 18/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2021. Tongue strap on for 1st time, second of 17 in handicap (25/1) at Navan (10f, good to soft) 11 days ago, faring best of those held up. Touched off in a 1m2f handicap at Navan; well drawn here and a big chance if he can repeat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (8/1 +11%) Skontonovski |
8/1(+11%) | (8) Skontonovski 8/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. 14/1, creditable third of 15 in handicap at this C&D (good) 7 days ago, never nearer. Can make presence felt. Third in a similar C&D handicap last week and surprising if he was not thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (20/1 -82%) Mr Mills |
20/1(-82%) | (11) Mr Mills 20/1, Winner at Dundalk in December. Creditable fourth of 13 in handicap back at that venue (12f, 2/1) in January. Absent since and market best guide returning from 5 months off. This shorter trip probably suits and not out of it if fit enough after five months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (14/1 +44%) Patrick Street |
14/1(+44%) | (7) Patrick Street 14/1, Visored for 1st time, respectable fifth of 15 in handicap at Roscommon (7.4f, good to soft, 14/1) 31 days ago. Up in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Needs a couple of these to falter. Fair run over 7f at Roscommon last time; tongue-tie and cheekpieces back on tonight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (23) (12/1 +0%) Together Aclaim |
12/1(+0%) | (23) Together Aclaim 12/1, Remains a maiden after 20 Flat runs. Respectable fourth of 15 in handicap (16/1) at this C&D (good) 7 days ago, nearest finish. Not out of things with a run. Reserve 1. First reserve; 0 from 20 but would have claims on his good fourth over C&D last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (20) (10/1 +50%) Wrist Art |
10/1(+50%) | (20) Wrist Art 10/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, creditable fifth of 13 in handicap at Gowran (8f, good to soft, 6/1) 30 days ago, fading final 1f on the back of 7 months off. Entitled to be sharper now. Should strip fitter from Gowran and might run a big race although could be better drawn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (28/1 -75%) Lasting Peace |
28/1(-75%) | (10) Lasting Peace 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 8/1, last of 6 in handicap at this course (12f, heavy) 46 days ago. Down in trip. Must improve. Step up to 1m4f here last month did not suit; still unexposed but others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (1) (22/1 -38%) Coolree |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Coolree 22/1, 14/1, creditable third of 13 in handicap at Dundalk (1m) in January, driven 3f out and keeping on. No forlorn hope back from 5 months off. Solid effort over 1m at Dundalk in January and could go well off 2lb lower after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (19) (6/1 +50%) Reverberation |
6/1(+50%) | (19) Reverberation 6/1, Course winner. Good second of 15 in handicap (10/1) at this C&D (good) 7 days ago, leading briefly well inside final 1f and keeping on. Losing run tempers enthusiasm but not entirely ruled out from career-low mark. Came agonisingly close to ending a lengthy losing run over C&D last week; consistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (13) (100/1 -150%) Our Matilda |
100/1(-150%) | (13) Our Matilda 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Ninth of 13 in maiden (100/1) at Galway (7f, good to soft). Off 11 months. Up in trip. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Needs a couple of these to falter. Opening mark of 53 is probably workable but best watched here in first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (9) (22/1 -57%) Smaoineamh Sile |
22/1(-57%) | (9) Smaoineamh Sile 22/1, C&D winner (took this last year). Below form seventh of 14 in handicap at this C&D (good, 13/2) 7 days ago, possibly needing the run on the back of 7 months off. Likely to be sharper here and worth noting she's operating 2 lb below last winning mark. Didn't run badly in a similar handicap over C&D last week; horrific draw though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (5) (80/1 -142%) Everyhouronthehour |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Everyhouronthehour 80/1, Tenth of 13 in handicap (12/1) at Dundalk (10.7f) in February, beaten long way out. 4-month break needs to have perked him up ahead of this. Hasn't been burning it up on his most recent visits to Dundalk; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (22) (33/1 +0%) Not Even Maybe |
33/1(+0%) | (22) Not Even Maybe 33/1, Bit below form fourth of 10 in handicap (11/2) at Listowel (8f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Needs a couple of these to falter. Unable to match her best on her last three starts; cheekpieces tried but others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (2) (100/1 -100%) Cannes Do |
100/1(-100%) | (2) Cannes Do 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 14 in maiden (300/1) at Fairyhouse (7f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Open to improvement. Stable among the winners and has a possible each-way shout on her handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
20th (21) (16/1 +68%) Kirikiriroa |
16/1(+68%) | (21) Kirikiriroa 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 18/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 13 in handicap at Gowran (8f, good to soft) 50 days ago. Yard having good spell. Visored for 1st time. Visor replaces cheekpieces here but hard to recommend on what she has done. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
21st (3) (100/1 -100%) Prince Of Peace |
100/1(-100%) | (3) Prince Of Peace 100/1, 80/1, last of 18 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, soft) 52 days ago. Back up in trip. Soundly beaten in two Flat handicaps this year and makes little appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
22nd (4) (66/1 -32%) River Derwent |
66/1(-32%) | (4) River Derwent 66/1, Course winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2021. Fifteenth of 18 in handicap at Fairyhouse (10f, good, 50/1) 21 days ago. Has barely beaten a horse in five starts this year and impossible to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Tom McCourt's SHINING AITCH was only collared in the final strides of a 1m2f handicap at Navan and is clearly on a competitive mark. His last victory in Wolverhampton in October 2021 came off 12lb higher. McCourt's Rampage lost out by a head and a nose in a thrilling finish to a C&D handicap last week and the same pilot, James Ryan, is on board again. Reverberation is threatening another victory. Skontonovski stayed on for third over C&D. He is likely to be coming home stronger than most. Atbay could enjoy this extra distance after running on for fourth over 1m at Listowel, while Colin Keane is an eye-catching booking for Everylittlestep.
RAMPAGE has been given a chance by the assessor and ran his best race for present connections when edged out late on in a C&D handicap 7 days ago. Operating from the same mark, he gets the vote to shed the maiden tag. Last year's winner Smaoineamh Sile has fallen to a handy mark and is feared with a reappearance run under her belt. Atbay and Everylittlestep are a couple of others fancied to feature.
The one to beat though could be ATBAY(nap) after being dropped a couple for good runs at Roscommon and Listowel and with a good draw

10th (6) (125/1 -150%) Market House |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Market House 125/1, Twice-raced gelding. Thirteenth of 14 in maiden (50/1) at Dundalk (7f), hampered. Off 6 months. Significantly up in trip. Well beaten in a pair of 7f Dundalk maidens over the winter; has to improve significantly. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KING LEODEGRANCE experienced a similar trip when second in Tipperary and the winner followed up in Naas to strengthen the form. There should be plenty more to come from Aidan O'Brien's colt. Dubawi Delight is regally bred being by Dubawi out of a multiple Group 1-winning mare and he showed marked improvement on his second start (and first time on better ground) when chasing home the winner at the Curragh. The horses that sandwiched him in first and third both won on their next starts. Teorie put in good late work for second over a slightly shorter trip in Tipperary, while Balnarring Beach and Waltham are newcomers to check in the betting.
OPEN TO QUESTION is one of four of these who contested the maiden at the Curragh won by Trustyourinstinct (winner again since) last month, and it was an eye-catching effort given that he came from further back than the three (including the runner-up Dubawi Delight) that finished in front of him. He gets the nod with improvement on the cards now upped in trip. King Leodegran is second choice ahead of Teorie and the filly Eziva, while Balnarring Beach and Waltham are likely-looking newcomers.
OPEN TO QUESTION was only 1l behind Dubawi Delight on his debut at the Curragh and is open to further improvement.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
An intriguing contest. Sir Mark Prescott Bt sends over Whatawit from his stable in Britain and this five-year-old gelding couldn't be arriving in better form, following wide-margin victories at Huntingdon and in a match race at Ffos Las. It wouldn't be surprising to see him go very well, but MON COEUR has plenty of ability and ran as well as could be expected in second behind a horse with a triple-figure rating at Listowel. Nikini flopped in a staying maiden at Sligo in May, but is a very talented hurdler and could have a major say. Enniskerry hasn't been seen since December but, on his penultimate start, he won a Grade 3 novice chase at Roscommon. Aussie Warrior was tough off the front in a Roscommon maiden hurdle recently, while Sea The Stars filly Bella Nebula makes her debut for a shrewd stable.
WHATAWIT has won two of his three starts in bumpers this year and, a rare raider on these shores from the ultra-shrewd Sir Mark Prescott yard, he is very interesting indeed now switched to the Flat. Fellow bumper winner Mon Coeur has found just one too good on each of his two starts in this sphere and is greatly respected, while Nikini, a bumper/dual hurdles scorer, can build on her Flat debut at Sligo and also take a hand in the finish.
NIKINI is a decent NH mare and was a fine fourth in a Sligo maiden last time after being slowly away, so can score.
Ths is the racecard key.
