1st (1) (10/1 -67%) Blinky |
10/1(-67%) | (1) Blinky 10/1, Once-raced maiden. Fifth of 6 in minor event (17/2) at Salisbury (5f, heavy) on debut 12 days ago. Will be more street-wise this time. Too free early doors at Salisbury (5f, soft) before dropping away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/2 +10%) Simply Blue |
9/2(+10%) | (5) Simply Blue 9/2, Promising type. 10/1, seventh of 9 in maiden at Chester (6.1f, good) on debut 19 days ago, not clear run. Almost certainly capable of a good deal better and he's on the shortlist. £180,000 yearling; soon on the back foot after starting slowly at Chester (6f, good; 10-1). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/11 +60%) Carrados |
10/11(+60%) | (2) Carrados 10/11, Foaled March 30. €52,000 foal, £360,000 2-y-o. Half-brother to 7f/7.2f winner New Hill. Dam unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 6.5f Campanelle. Yard no stranger to success first-time-out with 2-y-os and he's one to note. 52,000euros foal but fetched £360,000 at the breeze-ups this April; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (33/1 -65%) Son Of Astar |
33/1(-65%) | (6) Son Of Astar 33/1, Once-raced maiden. 18/1, fifth of 7 in maiden at this C&D (heavy) on debut 31 days ago, missing break. Others preferred. Never dangerous after starting slowly on C&D debut (soft) a month ago when 18-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (50/1 -213%) Royal Accord |
50/1(-213%) | (4) Royal Accord 50/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in minor event at Goodwood (5f, heavy, 20/1) 25 days ago. Probably more one for nurseries in due course. Showed more at Goodwood but was still only fifth of the seven starters. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (20/1 -300%) Gobsmacked |
20/1(-300%) | (3) Gobsmacked 20/1, Once-raced maiden. Third of 5 in maiden at Hamilton (5f, good, 9/4) on debut 11 days ago. May well do better with that experience to draw upon here. Sent off one of the favourites at Hamilton (5f) but was beaten 5.5l in a field of five. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (4/1 -45%) Tolerance |
4/1(-45%) | (7) Tolerance 4/1, £88,000 yearling, £145,000 2-y-o. Half-brother to 5f winner Navajo Dawn and dam was a 2-y-o 5f winner, herself a half-sister to useful 11f/1½m winner Without A Trace. Positive jockey booking and he needs a close look in the betting. £145,000 2yo and lots of speed in his pedigree; interesting with Buick booked. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An open contest which may go the way of newcomer TOLERANCE, who is bred to be precocious as his dam Patience Alexander won the Marygate. Geroge Boughey's charge is narrowly preferred to Gobsmacked, who shaped with promise on debut at Hamilton when only weakening late into third. Blinky is another open to improvement, while Carrados is one to monitor for market support as he makes his racecourse bow for powerful connections.
Newcomers TOLERANCE and Carrados both make plenty of appeal on paper and it would be no surprise were one of them to prove equal to the task. The latter was the more pricey of the two but Tolerance is bred to make a 2-y-o and he could have the edge on this occasion. Simply Blue is the pick of those with experience.
Simply Blue and Blinky can do better but breeze-up buys CARRADOS and Tolerance could be above average.

Aegean Sea |
(1) (7/1 -27%)7/1(-27%) | (1) Aegean Sea 7/1, Foaled February 23. Kingman colt. Dam, French 1¼m winner sole start, half-sister to useful 1m winner Pabouche out of very smart winner up to 1½m (2-y-o 1m winner) High Heeled. Lots to like on paper and the market will be instructive. Nice pedigree and the stable won this with an above-average type three years ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (10) (12/1 +70%) Santa Savana |
12/1(+70%) | (10) Santa Savana 12/1, Foaled February 28. Havana Grey filly. Dam, winner up to 1m (2-y-o 7f winner), closely related to smart winner up to 1m Oasis Dancer and half-sister to smart 1m/9f winner Smart Enough. Wears hood. Doesn't appeal as a probable first-time-out winner. Second foal; dam 7f/1m winner (inc 2yo; RPR 89); hood applied for debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/1 +69%) Seaplane |
5/1(+69%) | (8) Seaplane 5/1, Foaled April 16. Golden Horn colt. Half-brother to smart winner up to 14.5f Sumo Sam and 2-y-o 1¼m winner Sun God. Dam unraced half-sister to smart 1½m winner Stay Alert. Will probably need more time and distance. Excellent pedigree but for longer distances further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/2 -100%) Jorge Alvares |
11/2(-100%) | (5) Jorge Alvares 11/2, Promising type. Third of 11 in minor event at York (6f, good, 40/1) on debut 12 days ago. Open to improvement and he should have a part to play. £30,000 yearling; third in what was probably a useful York maiden (6f, good). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (28/1 -75%) Rogue Endeavour |
28/1(-75%) | (7) Rogue Endeavour 28/1, Foaled March 22. Dandy Man colt. Half-brother to several winners, including 2-y-o 6f/7f winner Galeron and 1¼m-1½m winner Goldenfield, both useful. Dam unraced. Interesting to see what the market has to say. Half-brother to six winners including Galeron (Group-placed 6f/7f 2yo; RPR 108). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (14/1 +13%) Ran Amok |
14/1(+13%) | (6) Ran Amok 14/1, Foaled April 13. €17,500 yearling, £70,000 2-y-o, Dandy Man colt. Dam unraced out of half-sister to dam of Irish 2000 Guineas winner Roderic O'Connor, an excellent family. Watch the betting for clues. £70,000 2yo; dam unraced half-sister to Jasmine Blue (1m2f) and Bonnyrigg (6f 2yo/1m). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (11/1 -22%) Nad Alshiba Green |
11/1(-22%) | (9) Nad Alshiba Green 11/1, Once-raced filly. 10/3, sixth of 8 in maiden at Windsor (5.1f, good to firm) on debut 15 days ago. Should have more to offer with that run under her belt. Strong in the market when sixth at Windsor and should be all the wiser this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (8/11 +20%) Beccali |
8/11(+20%) | (4) Beccali 8/11, Foaled March 27. €310,000 foal, €580,000 yearling, Lope De Vega colt. Dam, 1m winner, half-sister to useful 6f winner Platinum Star (by Lope de Vega). Immediate appeal given his pedigree and the powerful connections he represents. 580,000euros yearling; second foal out of a French 1m winner (Listed; RPR 108). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (100/1 -100%) Balzarini |
100/1(-100%) | (3) Balzarini 100/1, Foaled April 29. €60,000 foal, Dark Angel colt. Dam, 2-y-o 6f/7f winner, half-sister to smart 1¼m-2m winner Johann Zoffany, 6f-7f winner Crown Choice and 1¼m winner Hail, latter 2 useful. Entitled to come on for the run. First foal; dam Listed-placed 6f/7f 2yo winner (RPR 95); best watched unless backed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (150/1 -127%) Backer Bilk |
150/1(-127%) | (2) Backer Bilk 150/1, Foaled April 1. £24,000 yearling, Ulysses gelding. Brother to 1m winner Kirilenko and 7f winner Purefoy. Yard rarely strikes with 2-y-o newcomers. £24,000 yearling; already gelded; likely to be outclassed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This can go the way of JORGE ALVARES on the back of a highly promising debut at York, where he was behind two smart Royal Ascot-bound colts. Kevin Ryan's charge shaped on that occasion as if he would improve plenty from it, while the costly newcomer Beccali looks best placed to chase him home for leading connections. Aegean Sea is another likely type to consider first time out.
The obvious starting point is BECCALI, a typically well-bred Godolphin newcomer and it will be an ominous sign for his rivals if he's strong in the betting. Jorge Alvares shaped with far greater promise than his SP suggested he might at York recently and he is second choice ahead of another likely-looking newcomer in Aegean Sea.
Some of the newcomers have the potential to be above average and BECCALI holds obvious appeal after making 580,000euros.

Amancio |
(4) (9/2 +25%)9/2(+25%) | (4) Amancio 9/2, Winner at Haydock in April. Good second of 5 in handicap (11/10) at Haydock (10.2f, soft) 4 days ago. Has to be taken seriously off the same mark with James Doyle taking over. First and second last two starts and no reason why he won't be in the thick of it again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Breckenridge |
(9) (11/1 +0%)11/1(+0%) | (9) Breckenridge 11/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Second of 7 in maiden at Chelmsford City (8f, 25/1) 19 days ago. Another who may well have more to offer now moving up in trip for this handicap debut. Longer trip looks nailed on to suit now handicapping and her yard won this last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Autumn Dream |
(7) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (7) Autumn Dream 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 8 in maiden at Kempton (8f, 25/1) when last seen 8 months ago. Booking of William Buick an obvious plus now upped in trip for this handicap debut. Cost 150,000gns as a yearling and should do better now handicapping over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Campaign Medal |
(8) (12/1 -85%)12/1(-85%) | (8) Campaign Medal 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 11 in minor event at Nottingham (8.3f, good, 25/1) 18 days ago. Tongue strap enlisted for this handicap debut and improvement on the cards now faced with a stiffer test. Handicap debut; has to improve but well bred and a tongue-tie is added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Game Management |
(10) (25/1 -25%)25/1(-25%) | (10) Game Management 25/1, Sixth of 7 in handicap (14/1) at Beverley (9.9f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Others make more appeal. Best RPRs came last year and he's not looked progressive since sent into handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) (11/8 +54%) Ashariba |
11/8(+54%) | (2) Ashariba 11/8, Promising individual. 11/4, fourth of 6 in handicap at Goodwood (9.9f, heavy) 25 days ago. Remains open to improvement and she's a must for the shortlist. Yarmouth maiden winner; likeable handicap debut after a lengthy break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 +73%) Tipsy Tiger |
3/1(+73%) | (6) Tipsy Tiger 3/1, Fourth of 5 in handicap (11/10) at Windsor (11.4f, heavy) 22 days ago, hampered. Others possess greater potential. Can be headstrong but the ability is there to have some say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/3 +39%) Yippee |
10/3(+39%) | (1) Yippee 10/3, Career best when winning 10-runner handicap (11/2) at Pontefract (10f, good to soft) 4 days ago, having run of race. Likely he will give it a good shot under a penalty. Had the run of things last week at Pontefract but did win easily; penalised. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (12/1 -100%) Rogue Raider |
12/1(-100%) | (3) Rogue Raider 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 10/3, first run since leaving Tom Clover when creditable third of 6 in handicap at Haydock (10.2f, good) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time and will need to raise his game a notch. Third on stable/handicap debut after hanging; the cheekpieces could be a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/1 +18%) Balletic |
9/1(+18%) | (5) Balletic 9/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 9/2, seventh of 10 in minor event at Salisbury (9.9f, heavy) 12 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time for this handicap debut and improvement should be forthcoming. Salisbury only 12 days ago was disappointing and blinkers are soon turned to. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (66/1 -100%) Albert Lasker |
66/1(-100%) | (11) Albert Lasker 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 13 in handicap (22/1) at Newbury (10f, good) 11 days ago. Readily passed over. Close up on his winter debut on the AW but not a lot to shout about since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Yippee is bound to be popular turned out quickly under a 6lb penalty for a comfortable success at Pontefract last week. That said, it is ROGUE RAIDER (third), who was almost two lengths behind him at Haydock previously, that gets the vote on this occasion. The three-year-old is 7lb better off with Charlie Johnston's charge here and the booking of Tom Marquand catches the eye as he looks to get off the mark. Ashariba didn't seem to enjoy heavy ground on her return at Goodwood and is best judged on her success at Yarmouth.
The two with arguably the greatest potential are ASHARIBA and Campaign Medal. The former wasn't beaten far when fourth in what looked a decent Goodwood handicap on her reappearance and, with that run under her belt and better ground likely here, she can be expected to see things out better this time. Campaign Medal has shown signs of promise in three starts at around a mile and is likely to benefit from this stiffer test, while Amancio and recent Pontefract winner Yippee are others to consider.
Last week's winner Yippee is a major player but making a case for him brings ROGUE RAIDER right into the equation.

40/1(-21%) | (6) Indication Court 40/1, Last of 12 in handicap (20/1) at Ripon (8f, good) 18 days ago. Others preferred. Drops in grade but with a great deal to prove; headgear returns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/4 +18%) Travis |
9/4(+18%) | (1) Travis 9/4, Lightly-raced maiden. 7/1, respectable fourth of 8 in handicap at Ripon (6f, heavy) 31 days ago. Minor place money looks the most likely outcome. Handicap debut wasn't devoid of promise and he's dropped into a claimer here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/2 +31%) Buttercross Flyer |
11/2(+31%) | (2) Buttercross Flyer 11/2, Fair filly. 8/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Redcar (8f, good) 8 days ago. Place possibilities. Needs to turn a corner but dropping into a claimer should help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/2 +21%) Emu War |
11/2(+21%) | (5) Emu War 11/2, Modest filly. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, eighth of 12 in handicap (7/2) at Ripon (8f, good) 18 days ago. Visor on 1st time and she's likely to find one or two too good. 0-8 but these terms aren't impossible should the visor help in some shape or form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (10/3 -33%) She Is A Keeper |
10/3(-33%) | (8) She Is A Keeper 10/3, Fair filly. Ninth of 10 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 66/1) 20 days ago. Visor on 1st time and will have every chance if able to reproduce something akin to her 2-y-o turf form for Richard Hannon. Always a chance that more new headgear might trigger a return to form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (100/1 -52%) Itsalotafun |
100/1(-52%) | (7) Itsalotafun 100/1, Twice-raced maiden. 250/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, last of 12 in minor event at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 70 days ago. Best to look elsewhere. Failed to beat a rival in 6f/7f novices at Wolverhampton in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (5/1 -67%) Petra Celera |
5/1(-67%) | (3) Petra Celera 5/1, Fair filly. Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. First run since leaving K. R. Burke when fourth of 6 in handicap at Catterick (7f, soft, 20/1) 5 days ago. Needs taking seriously down in grade here. Probably remains in fair form as soft ground was probably too slow the last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (50/1 -400%) Merrimack |
50/1(-400%) | (4) Merrimack 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 9 in handicap (12/1) at Yarmouth (8f, good) 28 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Simon & Ed Crisford. Looks vulnerable. Failed to progress for the Crisfords but has low mileage and joined a respected yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TRAVIS remains unexposed and drops down to claiming level for the first time. The son of Advertise may prove good enough with William Buick's presence in the saddle taking the eye. Petra Celera and She Is A Keeper are not badly treated on these terms with preference for the former of that pair, while Emu War may improve fitted with a visor for the first time.
SHE IS A KEEPER needs to bounce back following a poor effort at Kempton earlier this month, but there's a good chance that she will do so back on turf at this lower level and with the assistance of a first-time visor. Petra Celera has a good chance at the weights and is feared most ahead of Travis.
It's hard to be confident about any of these but TRAVIS wasn't seen to best effect on his handicap debut and remains lightly raced.

Mammy |
(4) (10/1 -150%)10/1(-150%) | (4) Mammy 10/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 3/1, good second of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 27 days ago, running on. High on the shortlist. Placed in both handicap runs (Tapeta; 7f/6f); still has time to do better; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Noisy Music |
(7) (13/2 -18%)13/2(-18%) | (7) Noisy Music 13/2, Thrice-raced maiden. Second of 6 in minor event at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 9/1) 31 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Kevin Ryan and improvement could be on the way now switched to handicap company. Brings potential to this handicap/stable debut; drying ground probably beneficial. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (8) (7/1 +50%) Perianth |
7/1(+50%) | (8) Perianth 7/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 7 in maiden at Windsor (6f, good to soft, 11/2) 29 days ago. Sizeable step forward needed now making her way down the handicap route. Potential improver now handicapping at a modest level; betting can provide clues. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 +58%) Cypriot Diaspora |
5/2(+58%) | (3) Cypriot Diaspora 5/2, C&D winner. 1 win from 3 runs this year. Latest win at Nottingham in April. Third of 4 in handicap (13/8) at Goodwood (5f, soft) 24 days ago. Shouldn't be far away. C&D winner at two; strong finish when winning at Nottingham last month; below par latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (15/2 +17%) Rockymountainway |
15/2(+17%) | (1) Rockymountainway 15/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 9/4, seventh of 10 in maiden at Thirsk (7f, soft) 24 days ago. Probably worth another chance now handicapping given promise she showed in a Kempton novice on return last month. Third at Kempton last month but backward step on turf latest; drops to 6f for h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (22/1 -10%) Chat Up Line |
22/1(-10%) | (10) Chat Up Line 22/1, Creditable sixth of 14 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm, 9/1) 9 days ago but will need to better that by some way if she's to emerge on top here. Her mark should be well within range but she does need to step up on this season's efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 -150%) Mademoisellecancan |
25/1(-150%) | (6) Mademoisellecancan 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 14/1, fourth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 27 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time and others make more appeal. Ties in with a couple of her rivals; cheekpieces now tried; shouldn't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (17/2 -21%) Wren Officer |
17/2(-21%) | (2) Wren Officer 17/2, Latest win at Newcastle in April. 12/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 16 days ago, faring best of those held up. Can make presence felt. Two AW wins this year and latest second came in a much stronger race; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (7/2 +65%) Mrs Thrump |
7/2(+65%) | (9) Mrs Thrump 7/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 12/1, third of 8 in minor event at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 85 days ago. Further progress likely now handicapping off a realistic opening mark. Promise in her three qualifying runs and she appeals as a likely improver now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (9/2 +18%) Spirit Of The Rose |
9/2(+18%) | (5) Spirit Of The Rose 9/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 2/1, third of 6 in maiden at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 73 days ago. Needs to improve now pitched into a handicap but that's entirely possible given the yard she represents and the booking of William Buick. Bred to be better than this mark but she needs to step up on the form of her three AW runs. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
WREN OFFICER has won a couple of sprints at Newcastle already this year. Unexposed on turf, she looks to have every chance off her current mark having placed in a higher grade last time. It was soft going when Cypriot Diaspora scored at Nottingham last month and she's preferred to Wolverhampton runner-up Mammy, while both Spirit Of The Rose and Noisy Music are open to improvement on their handicap debuts.
NOISY MUSIC and Mammy both look very much like winners-in-waiting judged on their recent efforts at Wolverhampton. Preference on this occasion is for the former, who shaped as though she would benefit from the return to this trip when chasing home Grandlad over 5f on debut for this yard, form which was given a timely boost when the winner went in again on Saturday. Wren Officer is likely to be in the mix, while handicap handicap debutantes Rockymountainway and Mrs Thrump also need a mention.
Noisy Music is a potential improver now handicapping but so is MRS THRUMP and Rossa Ryan's mount is marginally preferred this time.

12/1(+0%) | (3) Obee Jo 12/1, Respectable eighth of 14 in handicap (17/2) at Catterick (7f, good) 15 days ago. Others more persuasive. Beaten just under 4l in two 7f handicaps at Catterick this season, at a venue he runs well. |

2nd (6) (13/2 -44%) Cubanista |
13/2(-44%) | (6) Cubanista 13/2, Not the easiest to win with but made the frame again when creditable second of 14 in handicap (12/1) at Catterick (7f, good) 15 days ago. Likely to be in the mix again. He's mostly consistent and went down narrowly at Catterick two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

5/2(+29%) | (1) Shark Two One 5/2, C&D winner who bounced back to form when very good second of 13 in handicap at this course (6f, good) 17 days ago. 2 lb rise fair and holds strong claims. Two 7f wins last autumn included one here; bumped into one in form again here recently. |

4th (7) (7/1 +13%) Broxi |
7/1(+13%) | (7) Broxi 7/1, Returned to winning ways at Newcastle (7.1f) in March and back to that sort of form when third of 13 in handicap (16/1) at Chepstow (7.1f, heavy) 14 days ago. Likely contender. Placed at Chepstow latest; enjoys some ease underfoot and should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (10/1 +17%) Destiny's Spirit |
10/1(+17%) | (10) Destiny's Spirit 10/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 20/1, fifth of 13 in handicap at Chepstow (7.1f, heavy) 14 days ago, left poorly placed. Each-way claims. 1 lb out of the weights. Won three nuseries and the signs were a bit more encouraging last time. |

25/1(-150%) | (2) Angel Of Antrim 25/1, Latest win at Newcastle in April. Tenth of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good, 18/1) 18 days ago. Work to do. All three wins and best form has come on the AW; beat one home back on turf latest. |

7th (8) (14/1 +30%) Malinheadsearovers |
14/1(+30%) | (8) Malinheadsearovers 14/1, First run since leaving John Wainwright when eleventh of 15 in handicap at Bath (5.7f, good, 16/1) 13 days ago. Back up in trip. Still looking for first success. Could do better returned to 7f but he's 0-10 and certainly not improving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (7/2 +36%) Kalama Sunrise |
7/2(+36%) | (9) Kalama Sunrise 7/2, Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (13/2) at Brighton (8f, good to soft) on return 7 days ago. Claims if building on that. 1 lb out of the weights. Two placed efforts last September included one over C&D; ran fine back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (9/1 +18%) Sir Titan |
9/1(+18%) | (4) Sir Titan 9/1, Latest win at Lingfield in January. 6/1, below form seventh of 12 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good) 38 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Nine-race maiden but now into the veteran stage and has become hard to predict. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SHARK TWO ONE went close over 6f here earlier in the month and he included a course and distance success in last season's double. The six-year-old is on a workable mark and has to be of interest. Cubanista had the measure of Obee Jo when runner-up at Catterick and can figure again, while Broxi has returned to a winning mark and makes more appeal than Kalama Sunrise of the remainder.
This can go to SHARK TWO ONE, who got back on track here earlier this month and will appreciate the step back up in trip. Broxi and Cubanista can also make their presence felt.
Low-grade fare. SHARK TWO ONE is a C&D winner who bumped into an in-form rival here last time and that was over 6f.

6th (14) (28/1 +15%) Queen For Adaay |
28/1(+15%) | (14) Queen For Adaay 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Ninth of 12 in handicap (80/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 87 days ago. Makes turf debut. Easy to look elsewhere. 1 lb out of the weights. Just the one effort of note and that was when finishing sixth of ten over 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (3/1 +33%) Teddy Brown |
3/1(+33%) | (1) Teddy Brown 3/1, Lightly-raced maiden who has found improvement since sent handicapping, latest when creditable third of 12 at Redcar (7f, good) 8 days ago. Warrants respect. Bang there of late; Brandon Wilkie takes off 5lb this time and he should be on the scene. |

8th (8) (22/1 -10%) Tip Top Tank |
22/1(-10%) | (8) Tip Top Tank 22/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time cheekpieces on for 1st time, fifth of 7 in handicap at Ayr (5f, good, 6/1) 29 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Others more persuasive. Best run was over 5f but below that level since and there are doubts over 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (28/1 +15%) Nominal Event |
28/1(+15%) | (7) Nominal Event 28/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, fourteenth of 15 in handicap at Doncaster (8f, firm, 50/1) 10 days ago. Up against it. Had placed form as a 2yo but no closer than 13l in four handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (20/1 -25%) Little Siskin |
20/1(-25%) | (2) Little Siskin 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Ninth of 10 in handicap (11/1) at Southwell (7.1f) 29 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Improvement required. Failed to raise her profile on handicap debut at Southwell; now visored. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (12/1 -9%) Big Blue Boy |
12/1(-9%) | (6) Big Blue Boy 12/1, Below form eighth of 14 in handicap (10/1) at Ripon (6f, good to firm) 9 days ago. Claims on best form. One fair effort but hasn't progressed and this is a new trip for him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (9/1 +25%) Hits The Front |
9/1(+25%) | (10) Hits The Front 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Fifth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 6/1) 74 days ago. Others more appealing. Beaten just over 2l at Wolverhampton (7f) and he came from a fair way back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (40/1 -21%) Edenmore Lad |
40/1(-21%) | (12) Edenmore Lad 40/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 13 in minor event (300/1) at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 15 days ago, very slowly away. Improvement required on handicap debut. 1 lb out of the weights. May show more now handicapping but it's been low-level stuff in maidens (6f-7f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Teddy Brown was beaten less than a length when third at Redcar on his turf debut and any further progress will see him bang there once again, although RINNOVATI may edge this. The latter made a promising debut for Archie Watson's yard when runner-up at Kempton on her first start handicapping and there looks to be plenty more to come. Aspire To Glory has won off a similar mark on the all-weather and could go well, with Hits The Front and Eagle Landed perhaps best of the rest.
RINNOVATI is still low mileage and made a positive start for Archie Watson at Kempton earlier this month. She can open her account. Teddy Brown and Aspire To Glory rate the principal dangers.
Rae Guest is renowned for his patient approach and HITS THE FRONT (nap) can build on his promising first run over 7f.
Ths is the racecard key.
