The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A significant eye-catcher on her debut at Brighton last month when taking a keen hold and short of room at a crucial stage, OVER SPICED did well to finish fourth and she is likely to be well suited by this test over 5f. Bob The Bandit (seventh) has four and a half lengths to make up with her from that contest but has strong claims on his previous runner-up efforts. Ant Colony wasn't without promise in a maiden at Newbury that has worked out well since, while Sergio Parisse looks the pick of the newcomers.
Little form to go on but SERGIO PARISSE is bred to be useful so Clive Cox's newcomer gets the vote ahead of fellow newcomer Uncle Sam, who also brings plenty of potential. Brighton fourth Over Spiced appeals as the pick of those with experience for minor honours.
Ant Colony is the pick of those with experience but SERGIO PARISSE makes considerable appeal on paper.

25/1(-79%) | (11) My Genghis 25/1, 12/1, sixth of 11 in handicap at Brighton (6f, good) 11 days ago, never nearer. Needs to build on that. On a dangerous mark and latest run was more promising; easier 6f perhaps ideal though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (66/1 -100%) Peachey Carnehan |
66/1(-100%) | (14) Peachey Carnehan 66/1, C&D winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in February. Tenth of 12 in handicap at Haydock (6f, heavy, 80/1) 14 days ago. Opposable on balance of turf form. Two AW wins this winter and has two wins at Leicester on his CV too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (13/2 +54%) Rwenearlytheredad |
13/2(+54%) | (2) Rwenearlytheredad 13/2, Below form sixth of 13 in handicap (22/1) at Thirsk (6f, heavy) 32 days ago. Enters calculations with drying ground in his favour. Progressive last year; bogged down on slow ground so far this year; better expected now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11th (7) (12/1 -20%) Jack Of Clubs |
12/1(-20%) | (7) Jack Of Clubs 12/1, Sole win gained on the AW. Good reappearance at Thirsk but failed to match that when sixth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 12 days ago. Poor strike-rate but placed on his reappearance and not beaten far on AW latest; fair mark. |

9/1(-29%) | (8) Captain Dandy 9/1, Career best when winning 10-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 16/1) 33 days ago, suited by way race developed. Expected to be bang there up just 2 lb. Won two of his last three and still looks feasibly treated; one for the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (40/1 -400%) Tilsworth Turf |
40/1(-400%) | (12) Tilsworth Turf 40/1, Career best when winning 14-runner handicap at this C&D (heavy, 125/1) 14 days ago, keeping on well. Task is to back that much-improved showing up away from the mud. Sprung 125-1 shock over C&D two weeks ago (soft); can he back it up on the faster ground?. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Turned out again quickly under a 5lb penalty after a taking success at Hamilton last Sunday, CATHERINE CHROI has been a revelation this year for trainer Iain Jardine and a fifth win in six starts could be in the offing for the daughter of Camacho. Tilsworth Turf impressed when getting off the mark over C&D last month and he must be thereabouts here, along with Gherkin, who didn't get the clearest of runs when a promising fifth on his return at Windsor. Others to note include Blue Collar Lad, Captain Dandy and Nubough.
GHERKIN showed up nicely on his reappearance minus his usual headgear 3 weeks ago and with the blinkers back on, he's expected to take a step forward, Catherine Chroi has already had an excellent 2024 but her new mark and a penalty asks for more, so Captain Dandy is feared most.
Gherkin can step up on his reappearance run but 6f could be ideal for FIVE WINDS (nap), who retains potential after just five runs.

22/1(-83%) | (9) Golden Echo 22/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f, 12/1) 33 days ago. Makes turf debut. Others look better treated. Stayed on over 1m2f latest; improvement required on this turf debut; needs a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (15/2 -36%) Geelong |
15/2(-36%) | (4) Geelong 15/2, Consistent sort who posted another creditable effort when second of 7 in handicap at Kempton (11f, 5/2) 10 days ago. Another bold bid is on the cards. Unfailingly consistent on AW following his win at Windsor (good) last October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (18/1 +28%) Captain Haddock |
18/1(+28%) | (8) Captain Haddock 18/1, Twenty one runs since last win in 2021. Sixth of 9 in handicap at Salisbury (14.2f, heavy, 14/1) 6 days ago. Others preferred. Ended last term with two heavy defeats and this season has seen two more; down the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (5/4 +34%) Fiddlers Green |
5/4(+34%) | (3) Fiddlers Green 5/4, Really upped his game in recent starts, winning 3 times, latest in ready fashion at Doncaster (11.9f, soft) 15 days ago. 12 lb higher now but not taken lightly. Easy wins last month at Bath (11.6f, good) and Doncaster (1m4f, soft); 12lb higher today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (25/1 -56%) Kittykarma |
25/1(-56%) | (6) Kittykarma 25/1, 7/1, last of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) on return 21 days ago. May have needed that but others hold more appeal. Cheekpieces are removed following remote finish at Nottingham (1m2f, soft) on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (100/1 -300%) Fazayte |
100/1(-300%) | (5) Fazayte 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden on Flat. Fair winner at 20f in chases. 25/1, last of 13 in handicap at Bath (10.2f, heavy) 34 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time in this code. Hard to fancy. 5-25 over jumps; only four runs on Flat, easily best on first occasion; cheekpieces back. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
FIDDLERS GREEN could not have won any easier on each of his last two starts and although a subsequent 12lb rise should make life more difficult, it may not be enough to prevent the five-year-old from completing the hat-trick. John O'Shea's charge gets the vote ahead of recent Yarmouth second Gordon Grey and the returning Rogue Tornado, who was consistent throughout last season and must be of interest on his first start for new connections.
Preference is for ROGUE TORNADO, who has a solid record in staying handicaps and has joined a yard who have a knack of improving their recruits. Fiddlers Green and Geelong should also go well.
Another win for Fiddlers Green would be no surprise. There are alternatives, including ROGUE TORNADO and D Day Arvalenreeva.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (9/1 +44%) Sir Maxi |
9/1(+44%) | (4) Sir Maxi 9/1, Eighth of 10 in handicap (8/1) at Catterick (7f, heavy) 38 days ago. Claims on best form. Conditions shouldn't be an issue and he's handicapped to go well granted a strong pace. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BELL SHOT has been running with credit off this mark of 69, placed over 7f at Wolverhampton before a good third over 1m at Musselburgh, and this looks a good opportunity to get his head in front. Michael Appleby's charge is likely to race prominently and he could be tough to pass in the closing stages given he ran-on over a longer trip last time. Valtellina rates the biggest danger after an unlucky defeat over 7f at Kempton, while Al Muqdad is also respected.
ALSEEYERTHERE should be spot on after her fine return at Doncaster last month and is fancied to get back on the scoreboard. Al Muqdad and Valtellina rate the principal dangers.
This looks likely to be run at a good pace and SIR MAXI may be able to exploit a reduced mark. Alseeyerthere can chase him home.

WALEEFY was a good second over 1m at Newcastle on his second start and this looks a good opportunity to go one better. William Haggas' charge met trouble towards the closing stages of that contest and this drop in trip, along with likely further improvement, would see this Shadwell runner tough to beat. God Bless America has racked up a hat-trick of runner-up finishes in his career to date and he looks primed to be on the scene once more, while Westridge is an interesting newcomer for the powerful John and Thady Gosden yard.
CAVALRY CALL didn't seem to get home when sixth of 11 in the Wood Ditton at Newmarket and looks a sure-fire improver down in trip in what is likely to be a much weaker event. Fair Point can place again, while Saeed bin Suroor has won this twice with newcomers in recent years so Historic City needs keeping an eye on.
Fair Point and Waleefy are respected but CAVALRY CALL could take a big step forward from his Newmarket debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NIKOVO kept his unbeaten record since joining the David O'Meara yard intact when scoring by a neck on his latest outing and that performance deserves a huge upgrade as he reportedly bled from the nose after the race. The son of Kingman is a real improver to keep an eye on and he looks difficult to oppose. Law Supreme took a class 4 event at Bath last month and he warrants respect off 4lb higher, while At Liberty can pick up any pieces.
NIKOVO did well to make it 2 wins from as many starts for his current yard at Chelmsford last week having been forced to make his move widest of all off the home turn and, with the return to turf unlikely to pose a problem, he's fancied to complete the hat-trick. Fellow last-time-out scorer Law Supreme warrants plenty of respect, with Royal Jet also of some interest up in trip following a promising stable debut.
In the less testing conditions, TOBETSO should be better for his reappearance and could prove up to the task.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ISLE OF WOLVES finished over six lengths clear of the third over a mile at Pontefract earlier in the month and he was put up 3lb for that display. Harriet Bethell's eight-year-old should have no issues with the step back up in trip and he looks the one to be on. The main danger might be Angel On High, who was only denied by half a length into second in this grade at Brighton last time and he should remain competitive off the same rating. Last-time-out winner Crazy Crackers is another to note.
ISLE OF WOLVES was right back to form when pushing a next-time-out scorer close at Pontefract 10 days ago and with the step back in trip not expected to be an issue, he makes plenty of appeal. Angel On High also arrives on the back of a runner-up effort and is a threat, along with Haaf A Diamond.
A weak contest and ANGEL ON HIGH, who returned to better form last time and has positive course form, is taken to go one better.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
