The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
LATE VOCATION is capable of landing a moderate looking affair. The Workforce mare has some nice form in the book and it was a decent run at Tipperary on her return last month when she stayed on into fifth behind Slip Jig. Going up in trip now should help. Lynchy Boy chased home easy winner If You Let Me here 16 days ago and is another with an obvious chance. The Affinisea gelding has to give away half a stone to the 97-rated mare. Fire Force, another Workforce mare, has been placed in a couple of point-to-points and is another to consider on her Rules debut.
LATE VOCATION bounced back to form at Tipperary last month and will be suited by the step back up in trip here. She can open her account. Lynchy Boy look the obvious danger on form, whilst Fire Force has acquitted herself well in points this year and warrants respect on her debut under Rules.
This looks like a good opportunity for LATE VOCATION who finished well over 2m at Tipperary on her first start since last December

28/1(+15%) | (6) Ivy Hall 28/1, Modest hurdler. Remains a maiden after 12 hurdle runs. Fourteenth of 17 in minor event hurdle (250/1) at Punchestown (19.3f, good to soft) 32 days ago. The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MAXI MAC GOLD had some solid placed form before getting off the mark in fine style at Cork last month and this looks like a nice opportunity to bag another win. The Doctor Dino gelding won easily over a similar trip last time and sets a decent standard here off an official mark of 125. The Willie Mullins-trained mare Paggane is weighted to be a danger. She finished seventh in a hot mares contest at Punchestown last time and tackles this trip for the first time. Clodders Dream was a good winner at Clonmel last time and could improve for going up in trip now. He's another for the shortlist.
MAXI MAC GOLD was clearly suited by the stiffer test of stamina when scoring at Cork last month and is fancied to follow up. Littlebiggie may provide the chief threat.
Paul Nolan's Cork winner MAXI MAC GOLD ticks the right boxes in terms of the trip, ground, and race conditions.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
STEPS MATCH ran a solid enough race when fourth at Cork just over three weeks ago and may be able to strike here now. The Court Cave gelding stayed on at the finish then over a similar trip and remains on the same mark. Navy Waves was also fourth last time, when behind Flicker Of Hope in Clonmel. That form looks solid with the winner following up at Wexford the other day. Without Exception hasn't been far away on his last couple of outings and is another that has to come into calculations. He has dropped a pound since his fifth placed effort at Limerick.
STEPS MATCH can race off the same mark as when a good fourth in a big-field handicap at Cork last time so looks the way to go. The Lucky Lobster could emerge as the main danger reverted to this sphere, although He Fitz In, Without Exception and Everystep oftheway all need factoring in too.
A hopeful vote goes to STEPS MATCH who likes good ground and stays well. Last month's Cork form was respectable

11th (14) (6/1 +50%) Tannery Park |
6/1(+50%) | (14) Tannery Park 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden who posted a very good fifth of 17 in handicap hurdle (20/1) at Punchestown (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Can give a good account. Unfancied when shaping well on recent handicap hurdle debut at Punchestown; one to note. |

12th (16) (80/1 -142%) Bedelia |
80/1(-142%) | (16) Bedelia 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden over hurdles. Modest winner at 10f on flat. 40/1, fourteenth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Switches to hurdles and not ruled out on handicap hurdle debut. Decent Flat performer has run well in a couple of maiden hurdles; could be well treated. |

TANNERY PARK may be able to take another step forward in his second handicap. The Golden Horn gelding showed more when a staying on fifth behind Makfils at Punchestown 12 days ago and better ground then may have suited. The four-year-old is still fairly unexposed. Morepowertoya comes here in good form and looks an obvious contender. The French-bred won at Tipperary on his penultimate outing and ran well when third off this mark at the same venue last time. Across The Ocean is another unexposed sort who could make an impression now for in-form trainer Gavin Cromwell. He ran a nice race when fourth on his return at Clonmel last month.
MOREPOWERTOYA can race off the same mark as when a very good recent Tipperary third so edges the vote in a competitive handicap. Riyami remains unexposed in this sphere and heads the list of dangers, although Across The Ocean, Inthenickoftime and Shraheen all command plenty of respect too. Red Trail completes the shortlist.
A few of these are unexposed and one who might have a bit up her sleeve is four-time Flat winner RED TRAIL who can win on handicap debut

6th (8) (15/2 +46%) Ginnets Girl |
15/2(+46%) | (8) Ginnets Girl 15/2, Fair hurdler. Back from 5 months off when fourth of 6 in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (22.4f, soft) 44 days ago and warrants respect on switch to larger obstacles. Bumper winner landed 3m1f maiden hurdle here last summer; chase debut. |

7th (3) (8/1 +0%) Hand Over Fist |
8/1(+0%) | (3) Hand Over Fist 8/1, Two wins from 5 runs last season. Fair winner at 24f over hurdles. 11/2, pulled up in novice chase at Gowran (20f, heavy) on debut over fences when last seen in November. Bit to prove on return. The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DUTCH SCHULTZ stands out here with his chase mark of 120 in a race restricted to horses rated 116 or less over timber. The Golden Horn gelding has been runner-up on his last three outings over fences and this looks like a nice opportunity now to get a deserved victory. Henning also has placed form over fences and chased home a smart sort in Saylavee in Killarney three weeks ago. Her mares allowance leaves her with a nice weight. Sea Music was well beaten on his return over timber at Killarney but had some nice form last year and has point-to-point experience. He's one to note on his chase debut.
DUTCH SCHULTZ has come close the last twice and can deservedly open his account over the larger obstacles here. Henning looks the obvious danger on form, whilst Ebasari may be the pick of the chase debutants.
Experienced pair Dutch Schultz and Henning have obvious claims but HAND OVER FIST is bred for chasing and will like the ground

2nd (4) (14/1 +13%) Optional Mix |
14/1(+13%) | (4) Optional Mix 14/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 18/1, sixth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Killarney (20.2f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Has been out of form as a hurdler/chaser for a considerable time, fair hurdles run latest. |

3rd (3) (14/1 -40%) Somptueux |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Somptueux 14/1, Useful chaser at best. Runner-up in point last time (Jan 2024). Hard to fancy unless there is market support for him from a lowly mark. Struggled in hunter chases last spring after point win, charity race winner at Punchestown. |

4th (2) (12/1 -200%) The Gradual Slope |
12/1(-200%) | (2) The Gradual Slope 12/1, 22/1, career best when winning 21-runner handicap chase at Punchestown (31.3f, soft) 29 days ago. Significantly back down in trip and he'll surely find it too sharp. Stayed a lot further than than this when winning at Punchestown but is trip-versatile. |

5th (8) (33/1 -32%) Marelly |
33/1(-32%) | (8) Marelly 33/1, Fairly useful winner at 16f over hurdles. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, fifth of 8 in handicap chase (10/1) at Limerick (17.4f, heavy) 44 days ago. Two hurdle wins in 2022, not yet at the same level chasing, improvement needed. |

6th (7) (3/1 +50%) Whatsafellatodo |
3/1(+50%) | (7) Whatsafellatodo 3/1, Creditable second of 8 in handicap chase at Ballinrobe (19.2f, good, 6/4) 6 days ago. Shortlist material. Has made the frame in two recent outings at Ballinrobe, beaten favourite both times. |

7th (6) (11/1 -57%) A Mere Bagatelle |
11/1(-57%) | (6) A Mere Bagatelle 11/1, Career best when winning 11-runner handicap chase (7/1) at Killarney (20.4f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Far from sure to be in the same mood, although made all in this 12 months ago. Winner here 12 months ago, up 9lb for Killarney win but chance has to be taken seriously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (7/2 +42%) General Clermont |
7/2(+42%) | (10) General Clermont 7/2, 3/1, career best when winning 9-runner handicap chase at Limerick (17.7f, good) 10 days ago. 8 lb rise to overcome but hard to fault the start he's made over fences. Had plenty in reserve when winning at Limerick and can remain competitive off 8lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (11) (28/1 -12%) Lake Chad |
28/1(-12%) | (11) Lake Chad 28/1, 9/1, tailed-off ninth of 11 to A Mere Bagatelle in handicap chase at Killarney (20.4f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Tough to assess at present. Infrequent winner, poor chase form since a good run over hurdles at Thurles in February. |

|PU| (5) (11/1 -120%) Time Marches On |
11/1(-120%) | (5) Time Marches On 11/1, 17/2, career best when winning 14-runner handicap chase at Tipperary (16.5f, good to soft) 24 days ago. Back up in trip. More needed again. Restored to best when producing a game display to win at Tipperary last month, 6lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (22/1 +12%) Say It Ain't So |
22/1(+12%) | (1) Say It Ain't So 22/1, Latest win in chase at Ballinrobe in May 2023. Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap chase at Listowel (17f, soft, 9/1) 8 months ago. Fading when making a bad mistake two out at the Listowel festival and absent since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MOUSEY BROWN looks very well handicapped here on her return to chasing. The Dermot McLoughlin-trained mare has won twice over hurdles since gaining an initial mark over fences last autumn. Able to race off 22lb lower in this discipline, the seven-year-old can exploit such a rating. Recent Limerick winner General Clermont couldn't have done it any easier on the day. Although hit with a subsequent 8lb hike, the Davy Fitzgerald-trained gelding should remain quite competitive. The Gradual Slope won over a marathon trip at Punchestown last time but appears versatile with regard to trip. Having got his head in front for the first time over fences, the Sean O'Brien-trained gelding will be full of confidence.
WHATSAFELLATODO bumped into a formerly useful sort back on song in a pretty good veterans' handicap at Ballinrobe last week and could be the way to go. Mousey Brown, General Clermont and last year's winner A Mere Bagatelle are feared.
Four last-time-out handicap winners clash here. Best of them may be GENERAL CLERMONT who scored with plenty to spare at Limerick.

2/7(+42%) | (7) Dysart Dazzler 2/7, Flemensfirth gelding. Half-brother to smart hurdler/very smart chaser Dysart Dynamo and bumper winner/useful hurdler Dysart Diamond. The obvious one. From a smart family and his pedigree is littered with bumper winners; hard to oppose. |

2nd (8) (4/1 +38%) Serious Chat |
4/1(+38%) | (8) Serious Chat 4/1, €18,000 3-y-o, Doyen gelding. 16/1, offered something to work on when fifth of 16 in bumper at Ballinrobe (16.8f, good) 26 days ago, leading until early in the straight and no extra final 100 yds. Can build on that now. Should have improved from front-running fifth to Mullins-trained winner at Ballinrobe. |

3rd (5) (22/1 +12%) Black Heather |
22/1(+12%) | (5) Black Heather 22/1, Twice-raced maiden. 50/1, last of 8 in bumper at Clonmel (18.7f, soft) 45 days ago. Big prices in two bumpers, not shamed at Navan on debut but tailed off last time. |

Switches from hurdles to bumpers. Down in trip. Beaten around 20l in three bumper starts last year; down the field in maiden hurdle lately. |

9th (4) (33/1 -83%) Babber Sher |
33/1(-83%) | (4) Babber Sher 33/1, €1,500 3-y-o, Muhaarar gelding. Half-brother to numerous winners on Flat, including useful 7f-1½m winner Caliburn. Dam 7f/1m winner. Half-brother to five Flat winners out of Listed winner; rider 0-3 in bumpers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DYSART DAZZLER, a half-brother to two black type horses, both of whom won their bumpers, is an obvious contender. Trainer Willie Mullins tends to do very well with the horses he runs in such contests at this track, so the fact he starts the five-year-old off here could prove significant. It will be interesting to see how strong the son of Flemensfirth is in the market. Serious Chat, a promising fifth at Ballinrobe on debut, missed a mid-week engagement due to soft ground. With officials predicting quicker conditions here, the five-year-old should have everything in his favour. Aine's Lad was well beaten on his debut at Punchestown back in February but is entitled to come on from the experience.
Hard to see past DYSART DAZZLER in a very winnable bumper. Serious Chat should build on his encouraging run at Ballinrobe and looks the threat over 4-y-o Buddy's Choice.
A weak contest and the well-bred DYSART DAZZLER, whose pedigree is littered with bumper winners, is pretty much unopposable
Ths is the racecard key.
