13th (11) ![]() Galilean Prince |
200/1(-60%) | (11) Galilean Prince 200/1, Well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Cork only start; all to do Three-figure odds when tailed off on hurdling debut at Cork, safe to rule out. |
PARK THAT's fourth-placed finishes in Limerick and Punchestown weren't devoid of ability and they give him every chance of getting off the mark in this maiden hurdle. Indeed, if he could replicate his debut third at Cork last year, he would take a bit of beating. Old Bridge couldn't lay a glove on the winner (and stablemate) in second at Bellewstown, but that was a reasonable display on his hurdling debut and a marked improvement on his run in a bumper. Onyx Storm outran her 33/1 odds when second in Tramore, which makes her a contender. Powerful, Dunkerque and hurdling debutant Ranko Express are others pitching for prize money.
Nothing stands out here, but perhaps PARK THAT will prove equal to the task after a respectable fourth at Punchestown in January

THEONEWEDREAMOF won over fences at Punchestown in February and looks dangerous back over the smaller obstacles for Gavin Cromwell. Bayou Belle came home a solid second when upped to almost 2m4f in Down Royal and is nicely weighted with Aidan Kelly claiming 5lb. Magic Day tries a new trip for Henry de Bromhead and should be checked for market strength, while Andyourbirdcansing, Maid On The Moon and Grace Faraday will all have their supporters.
Having posted a decent run back over hurdles over 2m last time after two falls chasing, ANDYOURBIRDCANSING can win up in trip.

The 119-rated ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE is worth another chance after falling at the first hurdle in Fairyhouse. Prior to that, he was placed in three maiden hurdles at Navan, Clonmel and Cork. Josh Williamson eases his burden by 7lb. Huntsgrove has been off since last summer, but has claims on his runner-up berth in Cork then. Kentucky Beach picked up place money at Tramore and Limerick in January, while Hey Boy has switched stables since disappointing when odds-on favourite for a Killarney bumper last July. Trooper Carton and Trasna Na Pairce shouldn't be ruled out.
An early faller last time, ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE has the winning of this on some of his best earlier hurdles efforts

JOE'S TURN likes this track and his third at Punchestown a couple of months ago brings him into the reckoning. He has an each-way chance over trip and ground he will handle. Johnny Cakes was an easy winner of a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Punchestown in February and looks well worth another shot at this sort of distance. He will enjoy all the rain that is forecast for Kilbeggan. The last time Callmedusty ran over flights, he was a good second in a big field at Punchestown in January, which gives him a shot. Royal Cave should be given a market check on her return to action.
Noted staying on over 2m6f last time at Down Royal, SIR CARNEGIE is lightly-raced and has scope for progress up to this trip.

16/1(-167%) | (5) Media Naranja 16/1, Well backed fourth beaten 2l in a novice chase over 2m at Tramore latest; consistent hurdler; not proven trip; plenty more needed and big stamina concerns Last of four at Tramore 12 days ago leaves her with plenty to find in this company. |

11/2(+39%) | (8) Whatcouldhavebeen 11/2, Seemed to be on stiff mark down the field in Handicap Hurdle over 3m1f at Aintree most recent; useful hurdler at best but inconsistent; threat if bringing best but could do with some rain Good hurdler at her best but this season's overall form fails to inspire confidence. |

5th (1) ![]() Emily In Paris |
10/1(+50%) | (1) Emily In Paris 10/1, Well backed second beaten 9l in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Clonmel latest; down in trip; consistent; vulnerable to classier rival Reliable mare, though not in the same league as several more recent recruits from hurdling. |

6th (3) ![]() Karacole |
80/1(-60%) | (3) Karacole 80/1, Probably needed race down the field in a beginners chase chase over 2m6f at Tramore most recent; not proven trip; difficult to fancy Flat winner, ordinary hurdles form, tailed off at Tramore recently on second chase start. |

|PU| (7) ![]() She Is Electric |
50/1(-100%) | (7) She Is Electric 50/1, Made too much use of fourth beaten 55l in Matheson Hurdle (Grade 1) over 2m at Leopardstown latest; Listed winning hurdler; absent for very lengthy period; needs to prove ability remains after lay off Good form in 2022, produced a foal last year, now 11 and best watched. |
LOOK TO THE WEST could be the one with the benefit of a run over fences at Clonmel in February. She came home third in that mares' beginners' chase and the winner has since finished runner-up in a Listed mares' chase at Perth. Henry de Bromhead's seven-year-old was a notable performer over hurdles and her third in a Grade 3 and fifth in a Grade 1 read well. Gaoth Chuil starts out over fences having kept good company over flights. She is an interesting contender for Ted Walsh. Media Naranja has a mark of 115 and ought to be in with a shot of prize money.
A few of these were very capable hurdlers. LOOK TO THE WEST gets the vote to step up from her initial chase run at Clonmel in February

![]() Eddies Pride |
(14) 40/1(+20%) | (14) Eddies Pride 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Limerick latest; usually held up; down in trip; more needed and wants easier ground Is 2-19 over fences, a long way below her best in four outings since December, 3lb wrong. |
THREE IN A ROW can build upon a third place on his handicap chase debut in Limerick at the start of the month. That run was on better ground, but his sole success came on soft in a novice handicap hurdle at Naas last year. He is due to encounter plenty of cut in the ground with the forecast rain. Philip Donovan rode a patient race to score on Island Mccoo at Tramore and the in-form jockey has the chance of another winner aboard this eight-year-old. Big Island was only headed close home in Limerick, while Aliunde is far from out of contention.
In a rematch of a Limerick event, third-placed THREE IN A ROW arguably has stronger overall claims than the runner-up Big Island

![]() Wrecking Ball Paul |
(14) 66/1(-32%) | (14) Wrecking Ball Paul 66/1, Fourth beaten 34l in a beginners chase chase over 2m4f at Down Royal latest; not proven trip; more needed and stamina concerns Minor Flat winner, 1-14 over hurdles, needs to jump better than on recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cloughroe |
(15) 125/1(-25%) | (15) Cloughroe 125/1, Below par down the field in a handicap chase over 3m1f here most recent where went too fast; returning from long layoff; down in trip; all to do First reserve, lacks a recent run, nothing to suggest he can feature in this grade. |
HELIKO CONTI was prominent for a long way before dropping to third over further at Wexford on St Patrick's Day. His sixth in a very hot beginners' chase at the same track last October also wasn't a bad effort. Heroes Rise performed well when runner-up on chasing debut at Downpatrick last month. As a former point-to-point winner, there should be more to come from him in this discipline. Fenway Park is a fair hurdler and has to rate a danger on his first crack at fences. John The Diva will relish the rain and arrives on the back of a handicap hurdle victory at Gowran Park. Happy Jacky's previous efforts at steeplechasing haven't been fruitful, but his shrewd yard are trying again.
Even if HO MY LORD fails to live up to the promise of last season's second behind Il Etait Temps, he can win in this grade
Ths is the racecard key.
