LTO Selection:

17:30 Kempton Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WALLOP brings some smart juvenile form to the table, perhaps most notably when finishing a creditable fifth in the Mill Reef at Newbury. The Harry Angel colt will be tough to beat if returning to the fray in similar form and he's expected to open his account at the fourth time of asking. William Haggas has his string in fine order and his representative Never This Way is worth a second look in the betting ahead of his debut. Others to note include Almaty Star and Exorbitant.

WALLOP holds much the best form so Richard Hannon's returning colt is fancied to open his account at the chief expense of newcomer Never This Way. Almaty Star appeals as the pick of the rest for place purposes.

This can go to WALLOP who sets a high standard on his turf form last year. His pedigree suggests that the AW won't be a problem.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Wildfell appeared to relish a step up to this trip when winning at Lingfield on his first outing as a gelding and debut for Peter Chapple-Hyam. He merits the utmost respect off 7lb higher, but a chance is taken on BAILAR CONTIGO. Stuart Williams' filly was an eyecatcher over 5f here in February and appeals as the type to progress now upped in distance for her handicap debut. A half-sister to the smart Desert Angel, she's likely to prove far better than an opening mark of 54. Archie Watson enlists the services of Oisin Murphy for Gypsy Nation, who tries first-time cheekpieces, and she enters calculations despite her wide berth.

WILDFELL doesn't make life easy for his rider but he clearly possesses quite a bit more ability than his mark judged on his Lingfield win 3 weeks ago so he's one to keep on the right side of at this level. Ticket To Alaska returns for an in-form yard and is a threat, with Bailar Contigo capable of better back up in trip.

A gelding operation and change of stable seemed to do the trick for WILDFELL when winning at Lingfield 21 days ago and he can follow up.

LTO Selection:

18:30 Kempton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Andrew Balding's string often improve for their initial racecourse experience, but it might still pay to side with his newcomer ALSAKIB. The well-bred son of Kingman is related to a host of smart types, including Group 2-winning half-sister Nyaleti, who made a successful debut. If anywhere near that level, the in-form Kingsclere team might find themselves in the winner's enclosure once again. Newcastle scorer Onight must be respected under a penalty, while others to note include Halla Dubai and Buccabay.

BUCCABAY looked a useful prospect when bagging an Ascot maiden last summer (form worked out well) so is taken to make light of his 8-month absence and follow up at the chief expense of Andrew Balding's well-related newcomer Alsakib. Archie Watson's Newcastle scorer Onight rates the pick of the rest.

There is probably more to come from previous winner ONIGHT who is well drawn and whose fitness is guaranteed.

LTO Selection:

19:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Pinwheel could outrun a generous price with the benefit of the two stall and is one to consider for the places at least, but it is hard to see him getting the better of SWEET MIST for a stable whose horses are in good heart. A winner and a close-up third at Wolverhampton on her last two starts, the booking of Oisin Murphy to ride catches the eye and he may steer the daughter of Tonalist to the front when needed. Los Camachos and Strike are others to consider.

Sean Curran has his team in really good nick and SWEET MIST is selected to land a second win of the month with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle now. Strike went close over C&D last autumn and has run well when fresh so he's a possible threat. Be Prepared is well treated on peak efforts and is another to consider having shaped as if back in better form on his recent reappearance.

Sweet Mist is a danger but LOS CAMACHOS looked ready to win again on his penultimate start and forget last time.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Kempton Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A small but select field is headed by Tagabawa, who represents the Charlie Appleby/William Buick combination that won this last year with Wild Crusade. Gelded after a third here on his second start, he is one to consider but preference is still for MAASAI MARA, who may hold a fitness edge after winning here over a furlong shorter in March. His stamina is not in doubt unlike some, and that may be all he needs. Imaginary World justified favouritism at Chelmsford and is another with a bright future.

A small field but an interesting race. TAGABAWA has a pedigree which strongly suggests middle distances will suit him this year so he gets the nod for the Charlie Appleby stable but a decent case can be made for all 4 runners.

Preference is for MAASAI MARA who did it nicely when winning a novice here last month. He can probably do better still.

It will be interesting to see how Sagano gets on on his first start since leaving France, with his wins including a success on the all-weather at Deauville. The Stoute horses are out earlier than normal this season, making Assessment of interest after being gelded, but a chance is taken on DISCRETION. The daughter of Dubawi won two on the bounce in late spring last year and ought to find this far easier than when last seen in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot.

ASSESSMENT is in good hands and has few miles on the clock. A winner first time up last season, he is taken to repeat the feat this term having been gelded. Ring of Gold and Double Time rate the principal dangers.

Preference is for STOCKPYLE who finished a close third in a stronger race here last time and remains unexposed at the trip.

20:30 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

GONE regained the winning thread on her seasonal debut over 7f at Lingfield and she looks open to more improvement now up to 1m off only 2lb higher. Perfect Gentleman's stamina appeared stretched by 1m4f when turned over at odds-on here in February and he isn't taken lightly now returned to this distance, with top apprentice Billy Loughnane booked to ride. Last-time-out Lingfield winner Gwendolina also likely has more to offer and she should remain competitive.

After 5 months off, GONE found a little extra to resume winning ways at Lingfield a fortnight ago and she can score again with this step up in trip to suit. Perfect Gentleman failed to stay the longer distance here last time and could be the main danger back down to 1m, while Gwendolina also merits consideration.
