(9) Harry Gulliver 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden who was in the process of running best race to date when falling at the last (in a share of second at the time) at Southwell in May. Has found errors catching him out both starts since, unseating 3 out at Market Rasen 10 days ago. Likely has a bigger effort in him.
If back to the form of his handicap debut in May, he'd be of interest off the same mark..

14:00 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Nachtgeist hasn't cut much ice in two Flat starts for this yard but, making his hurdles bow for a team which tends to excel with their four-year-old recruits, he must enter calculations. That said, preference is for SAILED AWAY. Stuart Edmunds' charge was last seen making all over C&D in March and, off a 3lb higher mark, another bold bid is anticipated on his return to action. My Friend Sean is also considered.

LIGHTENING GESTURE hasn't stood much racing since his juvenile days but his latest third Fontwell third on the back of 12 months off was an encouraging one and he's given the narrow vote to build on that now. Bahtiyar remains a maiden but comes here in good form and is a threat along with returning C&D winner Sailed Away. Harry Gulliver isn't one to give up on either provided he brushes up on his jumping.

C&D winner Sailed Away is feared back from a break but LIGHTENING GESTURE is taken to gain a first win, after a promising return.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MRS TABITHA wasn't seen to best effect when finishing fourth over an extended 2m4f at Southwell in June but, making her first start since undergoing wind surgery off an unchanged mark, she looks the one to side with. Recent winner on the Flat in Jersey, No Worries commands respect reverting to hurdles, while better can be expected from Diva B on her handicap debut.

This looks competitive but DIVA B is just the type her yard excel with in handicaps so, upped in trip/operating from a basement mark, she could be worth chancing on return to action before the benefit of market clues. Sassified had little go right on his latest outing but comes here on a handy mark and needs considering. Mrs Tabitha and Vivid Pink complete the shortlist.

Miss Tabitha\b holds strong for m claims back froma wind op but a chance is taken on \bGREENWAYS improving for this longer trip.

15:00 Huntingdon Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BALLYTECHNO caught the eye when staying on into second over 2m at Worcester on his hurdling debut last month and, stepping up in trip, he can go one place better this time around. Recoded showed some useful form for his previous yard and can emerge as the main danger to the selection on his debut for the Harry Derham stable, while Killarney bumper winner The Gray Ghost is also noteworthy.

THE GRAY GHOST saw off a subsequent winner when opening his account in bumpers on his final run for David Harry Kelly in July and looks an interesting recruit to hurdling having joined an up-and-coming yard, so he gets to nod. Ballytechno caught the eye with his late burst into second on his hurdling debut at Worcester last month and looks sure to improve now upped in trip, with Shady Wadey making most appeal of the remainder.

Recoded commands respect on stable debut but BALLYTECHNO (nap) is likely to improve plenty for this longer trip.

15:30 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The Donald McCain stable has been going well of late and this appeals as a decent opportunity for CARTONNE on his first run since a creditable second over further at Hereford in May. A winner twice last winter on good and soft ground, the seven-year-old may have too much for the capable Abingworth, as well as Mix Of Clover, who brings good recent form to the table after scoring at Bangor last month.

It could be worth chancing CRACKING DESTINY, who usually plies his trade in higher-grade handicaps than this and he's now 6 lb below his last winning mark. Imac Wood is feared most ahead of Cartonne and Abingworth, both of whom are returning from breaks. Mix of Clover did the job well at Bangor last month but he's by no means certain to reproduce that form.

Preference in this open contest is for the returning CARTONNE, who has a good strike-rate over fences and hails from an in-form yard.

16:00 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

STANS THE MAN always looked to be in control when holding off the reopposing Clararose (second) over further at Warwick last month and, despite being 1lb worse off at the weights with Dan Skelton's charge, he is taken to follow up for a fourth career success. A winner of two of his last three starts, Kitesurfer must enter calculations, along with handicap debutant Fortified Fortune, who steps up markedly in trip.

Cases can be made for a good number of these with CATUABA topping the shortlist on the back of a close call at Worcester. The 6-y-o should've won that race and this 6 lb higher mark looks manageable. Planet Legend put in a good shift back from a break at the aforementioned course and he is second choice, albeit marginally as Clararose, who was just touched off by the re-opposing Stans The Man at Warwick, is also strongly considered. The unexposed Fortified Fortune is another key player.

Lots with chances but Jamie Snowden's upwardly mobile KITESURFER impressed when going in at Worcester and can bag a third win of 2024

16:35 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Call Me Arthur won when last seen over hurdles at Southwell in May and has to be of interest, but the 139-day break is a concern. With that in mind, preference is for GETUPEARLY, who has made the frame off this mark the last twice and that includes a second at Fontwell two weeks ago. She Has Notions disappointed when last seen but it is far too soon to be writing him off.

Preference is for GETUPEARLY, who bumped into a progressive sort when runner-up at Fontwell a fortnight ago and can race off same mark here, Chase debutants Touchwoodexpress and Call Me Arthur may provide the chief threat.

A few with chances here but Christian Williams' UNSPEAKABLE is taken to confirm earlier promise and gain a first win in this sphere.

17:07 Huntingdon NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The market will be key with no form to go on, but the combination of Harry Cobden and George Boughey make CADARN of interest. Related to some smart types on the Flat, the son of Magna Grecia just gets the vote ahead of Andrew Balding's Crystabel. Others who merit places on the shortlist are Playaway Girl, Laura Lou and Lion Hill.

CADARN is related to five winners on the level and represents a shrewd Flat stable, so he may be the one to side with if the market speaks in his favour. Noble Miss is another with numerous winners in the pedigree, so she's of interest along with Crystabel.

Out of a useful French Flat racer, NOBLE MISS represents a Flat trainer who does well with his occasional bumpers runners.
