1st (6) ![]() Pep Talking |
7/1(+72%) | (6) Pep Talking 7/1, Easily beat only other finisher second outing in points but no impact in 4 starts over timber. Best watched switched to fences. Winning English pointer; modest form over hurdles; may do better now going chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Yellow Jacket |
9/2(-50%) | (5) Yellow Jacket 9/2, Took advantage of a slipping mark when shedding his maiden tag in a 7-runner handicap chase (10/3) at Bangor (17.4f, heavy) 18 days ago, idling near finish. More needed in a stronger contest from 4 lb higher though. Off the mark over fences in heavy ground last time; conditions suit; up 4lb and a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Ferrybridge |
13/2(+35%) | (4) Ferrybridge 13/2, Eked out a bit of improvement when taking a weak 8-runner handicap hurdle at Newcastle (17f, good to soft) in December. Discouraging effort on chase debut at Fakenham last month though and others are preferred. Ex-Irish; hurdles winner on good in December; well beaten on chase debut; going not ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Duneomeno |
5/2(+55%) | (7) Duneomeno 5/2, Chase debut here (2m) in February 2022 for Christian Williams. Some promise on his return from an 18-month absence when fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Ludlow (15.8f, heavy) 17 days ago and looks worth noting from this mark sent back over fences. Chase winner in 2022, but not so good over fences since; good hurdles run on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Flamelco |
5/2(+17%) | (1) Flamelco 5/2, Fairly useful winning hurdler in France. Ran well on form when runner-up at Fontwell last month, albeit tying up before the last having seemingly had the race in safe keeping. Still a player if in same form here. Winning hurdler in France; placed twice over fences this term; drop back in trip may suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Kalkas |
10/1(-54%) | (2) Kalkas 10/1, Fairly useful chaser at best for Henry de Bromhead and belatedly proved some ability remains when fourth of 8 in handicap chase at Catterick (15.7f, soft, 28/1) 19 days ago. His task now is to build on that. Ex-Irish maiden hurdle winner; well treated; 4th over fences with headgear last time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Torrent Des Mottes |
50/1(+0%) | (8) Torrent Des Mottes 50/1, All 3 career wins have come at this course but is winless for almost 3 years and showed nothing when pulled up at Market Rasen last time. Veteran; won this race off 4lb higher in 2021; not scored since; best on better ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
In a trappy-looking affair, SUPERSTYLIN can get punters off to a flyer. He ran out a ready winner on his penultimate start in November prior to performing with credit when finishing third on his return from an absence most recently at Southwell, and, eased 1lb with that outing under his belt, the seven-year-old could take all the beating. Last-time-out winner Yellow Jacket heads the dangers following a 4lb rise in the handicap, while the step back in trip can help Flamelco be seen to best effect.
SUPERSTYLIN remains with potential in this sphere and is fancied to take his record over fences to 2-3. Flamelco's profile is patchy but he's capable from this mark if on a going day, whilst Duneomeno is intriguing returned to fences on his second start after a lengthy absence.
In an open contest last month's Bangor winner YELLOW JACKET is taken to follow up by beating Flamelco and Duneomeno.

![]() Sailed Away |
(6) 9/4(+50%) | (6) Sailed Away 9/4, Arrives in good order, placing again when second of 10 over 2½m at Wetherby (heavy) 17 days ago. Also runner-up over C&D in January. Can play a prominent role again. In good form having been placed at Market Rasen and Wetherby on last two starts; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Awesome Foursome |
(3) 3/1(+57%) | (3) Awesome Foursome 3/1, Belatedly off the mark over timber at Perth (2½m) in September and back on song the last twice, third of 11 at Hereford (21.5f, soft) 19 days ago. Not out of things. Won Perth handicap on heavy in September; mainly decent efforts since; one with a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Try The Money |
(10) 10/3(+17%) | (10) Try The Money 10/3, Showed precious little in 3 quick qualifying runs last spring but gambled on and duly offered a lot more when second of 7 on 19f Taunton handicap debut on return to action 17 days ago. Might go one better if in similar form. Unexposed; improved on h'cap debut when second over 2m3f last time; chance on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Colonel Whizz |
(4) 4/1(+33%) | (4) Colonel Whizz 4/1, Placed twice in maiden hurdles at up to 2½m before Christmas and shaped better than result when failing to stay 3m on Wetherby handicap debut in January. Unexposed now dropping back in trip. Tongue tie goes on. Second in a maiden in November; not run as well since (excuses for below-par run latest). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() No Way Pedro |
(1) 22/1(-238%) | (1) No Way Pedro 22/1, Failed to win over hurdles in Ireland but 3-3 in Britain for Brian Barr last summer, the last 2 successes coming under Beau Morgan. Daisy Hitchins has since taken over the licence from Brian Barr and this is her first runner. Three wins on good going in the summer; stiffer task up 16lb on softer going after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Arlo |
(2) 25/1(-150%) | (2) Arlo 25/1, Fair hurdler for Stuart Crawford and, after 18 months off, showed that he retains plenty of ability when third in a Sedgefield maiden in October. Has failed to build on that since but the handicapper has shown mercy and perhaps the first-time cheekpieces will give him a lift. 11-race maiden; fair fourth in a maiden when back hurdling last time; headgear now tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Elzaaro |
(11) 33/1(-106%) | (11) Elzaaro 33/1, Little to shout about in a bumper/3 starts over hurdles so far. More chance now handicapping, though. Modest form at up to 2m5f on good; may improve now going handicapping; first run on soft. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NO WAY PEDRO brought up a summer hat-trick when last seen and off just a 5lb higher mark than for his latest win, he gets the vote to show his rivals the way home on his return to action. The consistent Sailed Away may emerge as the main danger to the selection upped just 2lb after finishing second over an extended 2m3f at Wetherby on his most recent start, while Arlo cannot be dismissed in first-time-cheekpieces for his astute trainer.
This looks open. TRY THE MONEY was an improved second on his recent Taunton handicap debut and gets the nod to build on that and go one better. Sailed Away and Awesome Foursome arrive on the back of creditable placed efforts and head the dangers. Colonel Whizz and Giulietta are low-mileage sorts from good yards and could also have a part to play.
Having shown improved form on his handicap debut at Taunton last time, the unexposed TRY THE MONEY (nap) can beat Giulietta.

![]() Roccovango |
(10) Evens(+43%) | (10) Roccovango Evens, Fair in bumpers and similar form when placed on 2 of his 3 starts over hurdles last season. Improved when close second starting out for this yard here (15.8f) last month and sets a clear standard back up in trip with headgear applied. Latest second came in a Class 4 handicap here; this doesn't look too strong a maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Arthurian Fable |
(1) 4/1(-14%) | (1) Arthurian Fable 4/1, Useful on the Flat (stays 1¾m) for Brian Meehan and made an encouraging start over hurdles after a long absence when third of 18 at Newbury in December. Not quite in same form there next time but worth another chance. Useful on the Flat before a long absence; shaped well in two maidens at Newbury. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Dasher |
(3) 13/2(-18%) | (3) Dasher 13/2, Showed plenty when placed in a pair of bumpers last season and there were positives to glean from last month's belated reappearance/hurdles debut fifth at Chepstow (19.4f, heavy). Entitled to come on for that. Not far away in two bumpers before let down by his jumping in a 2m3f maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Land Afar |
(5) 15/2(-50%) | (5) Land Afar 15/2, No show (said to have bled) on hurdles debut for Stuart Crawford in January 2022. 11/2, won 14-runner bumper at Ballinrobe (17.1f, good) on second start for this yard later that year and not disgraced under a penalty next time. Off 22 months and has left Anthony McCann. Has a long absence to overcome but the strength of his Irish bumper form was decent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ginger Jonny |
(4) 10/1(+60%) | (4) Ginger Jonny 10/1, Irish point winner but well held in a couple of maiden hurdles. Point winner but twice tailed off over hurdles, over 2m3f on good to soft and soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Motazzen |
(7) 18/1(-80%) | (7) Motazzen 18/1, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 2½m) who won at Nottingham (14f) in September prior to a rare below-par display in Cesarewitch at Newmarket final start in 2023. Market should guide now starting out over hurdles for new yard. Stayed well on the Flat and handled soft ground; hurdle debut and ability is respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Shady Daisy |
(15) 18/1(-13%) | (15) Shady Daisy 18/1, Sister to a couple of bumper winners and solid start when third at Newton Abbot (16.7f) in May 2022. Fair to say that she has failed to build on that since, however, including over hurdles. Has hinted at winning potential but has twice disappointed on soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Military Tycoon |
(16) 28/1(+30%) | (16) Military Tycoon 28/1, Fairly useful Flat winner for Hugo Palmer who bagged handicap at Salisbury (14.2f, heavy) in October. Well held both starts in maiden hurdles for this yard, however. Flat ability respected (stayed well on soft) but he's been poor in two runs over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Patanita |
(9) 28/1(-460%) | (9) Patanita 28/1, Won a point bumper and a bumper under Rules in spring 2022 but absent since unseating in a point in December of that year. The betting is probably the best guide to expectations. Point/bumper winner; unseated in final point in late 2022 and absent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gotthereintheend |
(14) 40/1(+0%) | (14) Gotthereintheend 40/1, Showed ability when 4 lengths second of 9 in Bangor bumper on debut last April. Failed to progress on that when last of 5 at Market Rasen 10 months later. Second in a weak Bangor bumper before finishing last of the five at Market Rasen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wannabe Brave |
(12) 80/1(-142%) | (12) Wannabe Brave 80/1, Fair 2m Flat winner but recorded no more than respectable efforts on AW in the autumn. Hurdle debut. From a respected stable but this 5yo was fairly moderate on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Darcy's Glance |
(13) 100/1(+0%) | (13) Darcy's Glance 100/1, Well held in bumpers. Achieved little in her three bumpers and goes hurdling with a great deal to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bombay Sunset |
(2) 125/1(-25%) | (2) Bombay Sunset 125/1, Second in point bumper (May 2022) but well beaten in a couple of bumpers/maiden hurdle. Poor so far under rules and was 100-1 when pulled up on hurdle debut at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() My Fernando |
(8) 150/1(-355%) | (8) My Fernando 150/1, Third in a Worcester bumper for Ian Williams in June 2022 but below form for new stable this season, including hurdles bow latest. Showed a bit in good-ground bumpers but tailed off on hurdling debut; can be keen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Simon The Seagull |
(11) 200/1(-100%) | (11) Simon The Seagull 200/1, Big prices and no show in an AW bumper and novice/maiden hurdle. Tailed off in his two completed starts, an AW bumper and a heavy-ground maiden hurdle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lunar Ocean |
(6) 250/1(-150%) | (6) Lunar Ocean 250/1, Little show in bumpers/novice hurdles. Up in trip. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Well beaten in two bumpers and as many hurdles; limited appeal in first-time tongue-tie. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ROCCOVANGO had a subsequent winner back in third when finishing second on his debut for Olly Murphy over 2m in a Huntingdon handicap last month. The return to maiden company with cheekpieces applied for the first time can see him go one better this time around. Land Afar finished fourth to none other than A Dream To Share in a Tipperary bumper back in May 2022 and looks an intriguing contender on his debut for Kim Bailey, while useful Flat performer Motazzen has the ability to play a hand in a race of this nature.
ROCCOVANGO made a positive start for this yard when going close here 5 weeks ago and this looks a good opportunity for him to go one better. Arthurian Fable is worth another chance to build on his hurdles debut so is next best ahead of fairly useful Flat-recruit Motazzen.
After going close in a Class 4 handicap here the last time, ROCCOVANGO might be the answer to what isn't a strong maiden hurdle.

![]() Loup De Maulde |
(1) Evens(+43%) | (1) Loup De Maulde Evens, Tough and reliable customer scored four times around 3m last year and has hit the frame on both starts this season, fourth at Ascot last time. Only modest form over fences for former yard, though capable of much better judging by recent hurdling exploits. Reverts to chasing and is well treated on hurdle form; likes it here; very interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Regarde |
(3) 4/1(-14%) | (3) Regarde 4/1, Has shown improved form switched to chasing this season, winning handicaps at this track on his first 2 starts in this sphere. Upped in grade, ran well in defeat when third at Newcastle just before Christmas but took a heavy fall at Ffos Las (23.8f, heavy) since. Cheekpieces applied. Two good-ground chase wins here last autumn; one to consider in first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Jar Du Desert |
(4) 5/1(+9%) | (4) Jar Du Desert 5/1, Showed fairly useful form over hurdles for Tom George prior to making a successful chasing debut in a 4-y-o event at Auteuil for N. George & A. Zetterholm in May. However, has failed to see his race out over hurdles/fences for present yard but handicapper is at least cutting him slack. Comfortable win on sole French chase run but unable to replicate that form in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Minella Double |
(2) 11/2(-120%) | (2) Minella Double 11/2, Successful on second of 2 starts in Irish points. Disappointing in bumper on Rules debut but proved a different proposition when making a winning start over hurdles at Hexham (2½m, heavy) in October. Not so good the last twice and headgear/tongue tie are applied for his chasing bow. Pulled up in sole handicap hurdle but this point winner could improve now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Poker Master |
(5) 16/1(-113%) | (5) Poker Master 16/1, Five-time winner over hurdles but isn't bred for chasing and was well held at the first attempt at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. Tailed off at Market Rasen on chase debut but now back at his favourite course. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This can go the way of REGARDE, who may not be ideally suited to soft ground, but was a comfortable winner here on a pair of outings earlier in the season, including over C&D. Jamie Snowden's gelding must get over a recent fall at Ffos Las, but he should have too much for chase debutant Minella Double and Jar Du Desert, who is getting the hang of things since joining new connections.
A dual winner at this course this season, REGARDE is fancied to regain the winning thread provided he's none the worse for his heavy fall at Ffos Las last month. First-time cheekpieces are added to his usual tongue tie and he can get the better of Minella Double, who needs to leave behind a couple of lesser efforts ahead of this chasing debut. Loup de Maulde is declared to run over hurdles at Uttoxeter on Saturday but would put a different slant on things if turning up here.
The switch to fences could prompt improvement from the very lightly raced point winner MINELLA DOUBLE and he gets the nod.

![]() Wise Guy |
(5) 4/9(+71%) | (5) Wise Guy 4/9, Progressed again to open his account in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Lingfield (16f, heavy) 24 days ago, staying on well. 4 lb rise fair and could well follow up. Off the mark on second h'cap start last time (heavy); should go well despite 4lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Havock |
(3) 5/1(-25%) | (3) Havock 5/1, Verging on fair in bumpers and ran to a similar level when second on Stratford hurdle debut in November. Poor efforts both starts since, though. Second in a Stratford novice in November but below par since; may improve on h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Totterdown |
(1) 15/2(+46%) | (1) Totterdown 15/2, Veteran C&D winner who shaped as if retaining some ability at Sandown in November but has made little impact both starts since. Veteran; fair 4th at Sandown in November; below-par since; this right-handed track suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pak Army |
(2) 14/1(-75%) | (2) Pak Army 14/1, Completed a four-timer from the front (second leg on Flat) when seeing off 6 rivals at Stratford in June. Pulled up at Fontwell later that month but wasn't disgraced at Lingfield when last seen on the Flat in August. Won 3 times over hurdles last year; stiffer task now; perhaps best watched after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() At A Pinch |
(4) 22/1(-144%) | (4) At A Pinch 22/1, C&D winner who resumed winning ways in a 2m Southwell handicap hurdle last February. Disappointing since, however, including when pulled up on chasing debut here just over 7 weeks ago. Dual winner for Harry Eustace (first over C&D); yet to complete this season; not out of it. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Now that the penny has dropped for WISE GUY after a relatively comfortable success at Lingfield last month, there should be more to come from the son of Muhtathir off a 4lb higher mark. Runner-up on his debut over hurdles at Stratford in November, Havock has yet to rediscover that form but must be considered, along with new stablemate Vitani, who must be monitored for market support after a wind operation.
WISE GUY is going the right way and this looks a good opportunity for him to follow up from Lingfield. Vitani is easily the most interesting of the opposition having joined a yard that had a fabulous Cheltenham Festival.
Although disappointing over hurdles here, SERAPHIC looked promising in France and is taken to take advantage of his much-reduced mark.

Stable has a good record in this sphere, so she's worthy of respect. Dam from useful family; stable has good record in bumpers; could go well on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hola Hermosa |
(6) 9/2(+18%) | (6) Hola Hermosa 9/2, Diamond Boy mare. Dam unraced sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (winner around 3m) Top of The Bill and bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler (stays 2½m) Call of The Wild. One to take seriously on debut. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Barra Blue |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Prickly Rose |
(16) 11/2(+39%) | (16) Prickly Rose 11/2, Scorpion filly. Half-sister to numerous winners, including useful 2m hurdler/chaser Fransham and useful 2m hurdler Takeit Easy. Dam (h128) 2m-2½m hurdle winner. Interesting newcomer on pedigree. From a family her owner-trainer has done very well with; no surprise to see a good run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Longhouse Legacy |
(7) 7/1(+42%) | (7) Longhouse Legacy 7/1, Cost £175,000 after getting off the mark in Irish points but hasn't quite come up to expectations so far under Rules. Needs to up her game. Fifth/fourth in her two bumpers; improvement necessary, but possible if settling better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Habibi |
(13) 8/1(+50%) | (13) Habibi 8/1, Didn't shape at all badly on debut when 12½ lengths third of 17 in a Newbury bumper and probably best excused her next outing at Lingfield. Needs to improve. Well beaten last time but encouraging third on debut previously and the hood goes back on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Chocolate Hobbnob |
(12) 12/1(+25%) | (12) Chocolate Hobbnob 12/1, From a good family and offered something to work on when sixth of 12 in a bumper at Fontwell 49 days ago. Not a forlorn hope with the scope for improvement. Just modest form on debut but dam won over hurdles and she's a possible improver. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ebselysees |
(4) 14/1(+13%) | (4) Ebselysees 14/1, Champs Elysees mare. Half-sister to numerous winners, including very smart hurdler Ebadiyan, stayed 3m, and fair hurdler Ebadani. Dam placed on Flat. Makes appeal on paper and warrants a market check. 11th foal; half-sister to five winners; intriguing newcomer in view of her fine pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Moonscape Girl |
(15) 18/1(+64%) | (15) Moonscape Girl 18/1, Related to a bumper winner but was sent off a huge price and only hinted at ability over C&D on debut. A lot more required. Displayed some ability over C&D on debut; may well improve but fair step forward is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Moet At Upton |
(9) 18/1(-100%) | (9) Moet At Upton 18/1, Sister to three winners and showed some ability when seventh at Ascot first time out. Will need to build on that if she's to compete, though. Last month's bumper debut seventh at Ascot wasn't without promise; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Madame La Papillon |
(14) 28/1(-40%) | (14) Madame La Papillon 28/1, Frontiersman filly. Dam, 2m-2¼m winner on Flat, half-sister to useful hurdler (stayed 19f) Doyly Carte. Worth monitoring in the betting. £8,000 yearling; dam Flat winner from talented family; the betting may be informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Miss Appleberry |
(8) 66/1(-65%) | (8) Miss Appleberry 66/1, Cokoriko mare. Dam, placed in points, half-sister to fair hurdle winner/smart chaser (stayed 29f) Soll. Not an obvious sort on paper. Newcomer from the family of Soll; may need more of a stamina test in time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Drishogue |
(3) 80/1(-142%) | (3) Drishogue 80/1, 10/1, well-held sixth of 9 in bumper at this course (13.7f, good to soft) on debut. Off 11 months. Up in trip. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Soundly beaten on debut at Fontwell last April and absent since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Related to several winners in her pedigree, a chance is taken with HELLO CELLO on debut for connections who are known for readying one first time out. By a sire in Jet Away whose progeny usually go well on soft ground, she gets the vote ahead of fellow newcomers Corran Sands and Prickly Rose for the in-form Pam Sly team. Longhouse Legacy looks best of those with experience after a creditable effort at Sedgefield last December.
HELLO CELLO is from a decent family and represents a stable with a good record in this sphere, so she's worth a chance to make a winning start. Hola Hermosa is one of two notable Fergal O'Brien-trained newcomers and Corran Sands also makes plenty of appeal on paper.
There was some promise from MOET AT UPTON when she was seventh at Ascot last month and she's taken to build on that with a win.
Ths is the racecard key.
