1st (7) (85/40 +23%) Magical Arthur |
85/40(+23%) | (7) Magical Arthur 85/40, Shaped well in first-time cheekpieces when second of 11 in handicap hurdle at Worcester (23f, good, 5/1) 33 days ago. Remains unexposed as a stayer. 0-10 but he's unexposed as a stayer and was runner-up at Worcester latest; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (12) (14/1 +30%) Dequall |
14/1(+30%) | (12) Dequall 14/1, Lazy sort who made it clear he wasn't on a going day at Perth (23.9f, good to firm) 92 days ago, early reminders and tailing off before 3 out. Near-miss over C&D in May but disappointing in both runs since and last win was in 2021. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (17/2 +6%) Ange Endormi |
17/2(+6%) | (8) Ange Endormi 17/2, Shaped as if retaining the bulk of his ability when third in 7-runner handicap hurdle (4/1) at Cartmel (25.4f, heavy) 39 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Missed 2023 but he ran well at Cartmel in August and is respected back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (15/2 -15%) Jeteye |
15/2(-15%) | (1) Jeteye 15/2, C&D winner in June who wasn't disgraced in a first-time visor when seventh of 11 in handicap hurdle at Worcester (23f, good, 9/1) 46 days ago. One to consider. Won over C&D in June but he's finished down the field in both subsequent runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (22/1 +12%) Iturgeon Du Breuil |
22/1(+12%) | (11) Iturgeon Du Breuil 22/1, Showed improved form when placed at Ayr and Hexham on first 2 handicap starts but finished well held at Perth (23.9f, good, 28/1) 48 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Still lightly raced but form has slumped in last two runs and needs to get back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (3/1 -9%) Santa Clarita |
3/1(-9%) | (5) Santa Clarita 3/1, Gained a first win in Britain in 2m4f handicap hurdle at Worcester in September, albeit in fortunate circumstances (left in front last). Seemingly undone by a 7-lb rise in the weights when third in a similar event back there since but should remain competitive. Looked fortunate when winning at Worcester and was held under penalty there next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (50/1 -100%) Twoplacesatonetime |
50/1(-100%) | (3) Twoplacesatonetime 50/1, Went with no encouragement making his handicap debut after 5 months off when pulled up at Perth (20.2f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Enough to prove. Unexposed under rules but was pulled up on his handicap debut at Perth (2m4f) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (9/2 +44%) Wotyoudunnow Buddy |
9/2(+44%) | (9) Wotyoudunnow Buddy 9/2, Winner of a selling event here in May and returned to a similar level when 3 lengths second of 14 to Jeteye in C&D handicap in June. Runner-up behind Jeteye over C&D when last seen in June; dangerous on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (22/1 -120%) Balkotic |
22/1(-120%) | (2) Balkotic 22/1, C&D winner who ran poorly after 12 weeks off at Sedgefield (27f, good) 11 days ago. Blinkers back on. C&D winner but he's hard to predict and was tailed off 11 days ago; risks attached. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (40/1 -21%) Famous Response |
40/1(-21%) | (10) Famous Response 40/1, Ran no better than on his return in a first-time visor when last of 9 in handicap hurdle at Cartmel (25.4f, good to soft, 22/1) 96 days ago. Others preferred. Won a point in May but he's struggled in both runs back over hurdles since; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (25/1 -285%) Pop The Question |
25/1(-285%) | (4) Pop The Question 25/1, Winning pointer who caused something of a surprise when making a successful debut under Rules in 2m4f Hexham maiden in June. However, that was a weak race and she's had her limitations exposed on both starts since. Upped in trip for handicap bow. Course winner and she needs watching in market now upped to 3m on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (100/1 -300%) Colonel Manderson |
100/1(-300%) | (6) Colonel Manderson 100/1, Revived in first-time blinkers to cause a surprise over C&D in September 2023. Pulled up next 2 starts, however, and offered little in a brace of points in March. C&D win last September but pulled up in three of his four runs since; needs big turnaround. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Pop The Question won on his only start here over 2m4f in June, and although beaten twice since, the step up in trip may see improvement as a point-to-point winner over three miles. Jeteye drops in class and warrants plenty of respect as a course and distance winner, but SANTA CLARITA may be the one. A beaten favourite at Worcester over this trip last month, connections persevere and clearly think her stamina is not the issue.
MAGICAL ARTHUR shaped well in a first-time visor when second at Worcester last month and remains unexposed as a stayer, so he's an appealing candidate. Santa Clarita and Jeteye head up the opposition.
Last month's Worcester runner-up MAGICAL ARTHUR is still unexposed as a stayer and he gets the vote ahead of Ange Endormi.

1st (4) (5/6 +58%) Kingston James |
5/6(+58%) | (4) Kingston James 5/6, Successful on his completed start in points and made a winning start under Rules in straightforward fashion at Ayr (2m, good) in March, making all. By no means disgraced when fourth of 10 at Kelso next time and he could be a factor if his jumping passes the test now switched to hurdles. Point winner; sold for £30,000gns; won an Ayr bumper in March; chance on hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 +17%) Rock On Jet |
5/1(+17%) | (5) Rock On Jet 5/1, Runner-up both starts in points and shaped better than distance beaten suggests in a Cork bumper on sole start for Ms M. M. Gannon. Again showed ability when third in a 12-runner C&D novice (soft) on hurdles debut in May and he should have a future in this sphere. Runner-up in two Irish points; fair third over C&D on hurdles debut; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (15/2 -50%) Shadow Chaser |
15/2(-50%) | (6) Shadow Chaser 15/2, Successful on the most recent of his half-a-dozen starts in points and shaped well when third of 12 on Rules debut/sole start for John Gleeson in a Cork bumper (19f, heavy) during the spring. Interesting to see how he gets on now switched to hurdles for new yard. Irish point winner; good third in a bumper at Cork last time (2m3f); hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (14/1 +30%) Some Bro |
14/1(+30%) | (7) Some Bro 14/1, Placed a couple of times between the flags but his sole run under Rules in a Punchestown bumper resulted in a heavy defeat. Beaten 62l on previous hurdles run; fair form in points since; 13,000euros buy in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (80/1 +20%) Forest Blaze |
80/1(+20%) | (3) Forest Blaze 80/1, Bumper debut fourth at Newcastle wasn't completely devoid of promise but he was beaten a long way switched to hurdles later that month. Modest efforts in a bumper and over hurdles and others look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (4/1 -233%) Ankud |
4/1(-233%) | (1) Ankud 4/1, Cosy winner on handicap debut for Gordon Elliott at Sligo (17.4f, good) in July and while he failed to build on that at Ballinrobe next time, he will have every chance if able to get back on track starting out for new connections here. 10,000gns buy (ex-Gordon Elliott); Sligo h'cap hurdle winner; chance back in a novice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (125/1 -150%) Danno's Dollar |
125/1(-150%) | (2) Danno's Dollar 125/1, Little impact both starts in bumpers for Sandy Thomson and offered little on hurdles/yard debut at Newcastle in March. One of 3 representing this yard. Ex-Sandy Thomson; fair bumper run on debut but not as good since (last time over hurdles). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Mark Walford seems keen to win this contest, with three of the seven declared in his care, and Irish point-to-point second Some Bro seems the most interesting of them if he is ready to go after seven months off. He might prove the biggest danger to KINGSTON JAMES, with the point-to-point and bumper winner looking for a successful debut over hurdles after a good fourth in a Kelso bumper when last seen in May. Rock On Jet may prove best of the rest in an interesting race.
KINGSTON JAMES showed plenty in a couple of bumpers earlier this year and he is an appealing alternative to likely favourite Ankud now switched to hurdles. The latter is the one to beat on the strength of his breakthrough success in a Sligo handicap in the summer and is a much-respected main danger ahead of fellow Irish recruit Shadow Chaser.
The choice is ROCK ON JET, who ran well for a long way when third here on his hurdles debut. Kingston James also has sound claims.

1st (4) (17/2 -6%) The Churchill Lad |
17/2(-6%) | (4) The Churchill Lad 17/2, Haydock winner over hurdles in December and has been shaping up quite nicely over timber despite typically pulling hard. Lot depends on how he takes to chasing. Not bred for fences but has been back in good form over hurdles lately. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 +20%) Caithness |
4/1(+20%) | (2) Caithness 4/1, Comfortable all-the-way winner of maiden/handicap over hurdles at Kelso this time last year. Bit hit-or-miss over timber since but looks the type to make up into a better chaser, Third in competitive handicap hurdle on latest start in May; makes chasing debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/2 +44%) Dream Jet |
5/2(+44%) | (5) Dream Jet 5/2, Fair hurdler who opened his chase account at Market Rasen in July, overcoming a slipping saddle. Good efforts since, most recently when third of 5 at Sedgefield on Tuesday. In the frame all three starts since breakthrough chase win in July; won't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/4 -88%) Beat Box |
6/4(-88%) | (3) Beat Box 6/4, Improved out of all recognition for Dan Skelton, completing the 4-timer in 5-runner handicap at Worcester 18 days ago, finding extra. No surprise were he to shrug off latest 6 lb rise. 4-4 and in superb form for Dan Skelton this season; makes obvious appeal in current mood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (15/2 +6%) Ip Up |
15/2(+6%) | (1) Ip Up 15/2, Fair hurdler/chaser in France who won 2m handicap hurdles at Fakenham and Newcastle upon joining this yard. Looked in the grip of the handicapper to end the campaign and he may just need this after 6 months off returned to the larger obstacles. Did well over hurdles last season (3 wins) and has French chasing experience to call upon. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BEAT BOX appears to have scared off some of the early entries and faces just the four rivals here. A revelation since switching yards and being sent back over fences, the eight-year-old has won all four starts including an easy success at Worcester last month. Upped 6lb for that win, he has been dropped in class and remains difficult to oppose. Caithness looks interesting ahead of his chasing debut, as does Dream Jet, who has experience on his side after nine starts over fences.
BEAT BOX has been the latest inmate to have been transformed by Dan Skelton and there's no real desire to oppose him in his quest for the 5-timer. Dream Jet is likely to give his running again but a bigger threat may emerge in the shape of chase-debutant Caithness.
There is no strong temptation to oppose BEAT BOX, who has been in superb form for his new yard and can extend his winning spree.

1st (11) (6/5 +47%) Instant Gambler |
6/5(+47%) | (11) Instant Gambler 6/5, Made a very good start to his chase career last month, scoring twice at Fontwell. Cruised 10 lengths clear last week and a 7 lb penalty shouldn't stop him if in similar form. Two out of two over fences, both at Fontwell, latest by 9l; penalised 7lb; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (14/1 -40%) Sean Og |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Sean Og 14/1, Successful twice over fences at Cartmel (21f) this summer but unable to continue the good work when down the field at Kelso 16 days ago. Below-par latest (made bad mistake); won two chases at Cartmel this summer; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/1 -150%) Steps Match |
10/1(-150%) | (2) Steps Match 10/1, Came good at the first time of asking for new trainer Daragh Bourke when a convincing all-the-way winner of a 3m Perth handicap hurdle last month. Placed over fences in Ireland earlier in his career. Ex-Irish; won 3m h'cap hurdle on stable debut last time; experienced chaser; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (40/1 -150%) No Promises |
40/1(-150%) | (12) No Promises 40/1, Point winner. Tried in cheekpieces/tongue tie and showed his first form under Rules from 9 lb out of the weights when taking third in 27.5f Stratford handicap chase in August. Needs to back that up. Decent third with headgear in handicap chase last time; same headgear; each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/1 +36%) Macavity |
9/1(+36%) | (6) Macavity 9/1, Bumper winner. Yet to score over jumps but placed in staying handicap chases at Uttoxeter and Perth this summer. Held back by mistakes when well held at Worcester last time. Point/bumper winner; placed twice in h'cap chases this summer; below-par latest; exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (3/1 +57%) Defence Witness |
3/1(+57%) | (3) Defence Witness 3/1, Fair bumper winner was placed on first 2 outings over hurdles. A little disappointing that he hasn't made more of an impact in handicap hurdles since but this point winner could fare better now chasing. Winning pointer; won a bumper and placed in 3 hurdles; a possible on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (66/1 -450%) So Be It |
66/1(-450%) | (8) So Be It 66/1, Long-standing maiden (including in points) but he did run one of his better races when 14 lengths second over C&D when last seen in June. Place claims if resuming in similar form. Maiden; fair second in C&D handicap chase last time; each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (9/1 -13%) Lady Mendoza |
9/1(-13%) | (5) Lady Mendoza 9/1, Modest hurdler but was competitive in handicaps from this sort of mark and a point win at the start of her career provides hope she'll be at least as effective over fences. Respected for a yard with recent winning form in this race. Point winner; maiden over hurdles (9l fourth to Steps Match latest); chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (12/1 0%) Somebody's Fortune |
12/1(0%) | (10) Somebody's Fortune 12/1, Made a winning handicap hurdle debut at Kelso in May. Not in anything like the same form at Perth in July but a point background provides hope she'll take to chasing after 3 months off. Visor off, cheekpieces back on. Won mares h'cap hurdle in May; not so good next time; chase debut; others stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (25/1 -178%) Grand Du Nord |
25/1(-178%) | (9) Grand Du Nord 25/1, Placed twice over hurdles in spring 2023 but lightly raced and little impact since, including a course chase when last seen in June. Good jockey booking but his claims still aren't obvious. Won bumper here in 2021; well beaten two starts over fences this summer; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (40/1 +0%) Toucan Sam |
40/1(+0%) | (7) Toucan Sam 40/1, Modest maiden chaser who was placed twice 3 times in May (including C&D) but has lost his form since. Bounce back needed. Placed in 2 hunter chases and a h'cap chase in May; not so good since; others stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (100/1 -614%) Hey Brother |
100/1(-614%) | (4) Hey Brother 100/1, Modest form in varied events under Rules but did end his time with Jedd O'Keeffe with a creditable second in a Uttoxeter handicap chase in June. First run for Barry Murtagh after a £5,500 sale in July. Bought £5,500 in July; good 2nd in h'cap chase last time; could go well on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
INSTANT GAMBLER landed a double over fences at Fontwell with plenty left in the tank. He carries a 7lb penalty for that success, but is due to be raised by a further 7lb in the future and the hat-trick beckons for Alexandra Dunn's progressive chaser. Sean Og had been steadily improving over the larger obstacles before failing to recover from an early blunder at Kelso and isn't out of this with a clear round, while Hey Brother is going the right way over fences based on his second at Uttoxeter last time.
A race which to some degree revolves around INSTANT GAMBLER who is 7 lb well-in under a penalty for last week's comfortable Fontwell success. The chief threat may come from chase newcomers Lady Mendoza, whose stable landed this race in 2022, and Defence Witness, both of whom won in the pointing field at the start of their career.
Although Instant Gambler is the one to beat it could pay to take him on with STEPS MATCH who won over hurdles at Perth last time.

1st (2) (2/1 +71%) Florida Dreams |
2/1(+71%) | (2) Florida Dreams 2/1, Grade 2 bumper winner who made up into a fairly useful novice hurdler, successful at Ayr in December. Fair run in the Scottish Champion Hurdle when last seen and remains with potential. Smart in bumpers; quite useful over hurdles, but held by Cracking Rhapsody on Ayr form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/1 +21%) Salsada |
11/1(+21%) | (6) Salsada 11/1, Useful Flat winner placed twice in 2m handicap hurdles in March but little to write home about since, soon beaten back on the level in 3-runner affair 3 weeks ago. Well treated if bouncing back. Useful hurdler 2 seasons ago; not as good last term; on a good mark; could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (14/1 +13%) Well Educated |
14/1(+13%) | (4) Well Educated 14/1, Plenty of winning course form and ran well behind Ashington at Kelso (21f) last time, not seen to best effect caught wide throughout. This is tougher. Suited by good ground but has finished behind Ashington on two of his last three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (15/2 -200%) Cracking Rhapsody |
15/2(-200%) | (1) Cracking Rhapsody 15/2, Enjoyed a fine novice campaign, winning 3 times, including a C&D event and a cracking renewal of the Morebattle handicap at Kelso. Splendid run when third in the Scottish Champion Hurdle handicap when last seen and looks one to follow this term. Progressive last season, winning 3 and finishing 3rd in Scottish Champion Hurdle; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (12/1 -118%) Coastguard Station |
12/1(-118%) | (5) Coastguard Station 12/1, Thriving earlier this year and produced another career-best effort to resume winning ways in 2m Uttoxeter handicap chase in June. Lightly raced over hurdles in recent years and figures off lower mark reverted to that sphere here. Has won two of last 3 races over fences and gone up 11lb; hurdle mark unchanged; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (15/8 +25%) Got Grey |
15/8(+25%) | (7) Got Grey 15/8, Big improver for new yard in recent weeks, winning 2m handicaps at Stratford and Bangor and underlining just how far he's come in no time at all despite finishing second in valuable Market Rasen contest on Saturday. Good chance he's still ahead of his mark. In good form for Dan Skelton this term (two wins and a good second); 4lb well in; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (8/1 -100%) Ashington |
8/1(-100%) | (3) Ashington 8/1, Capitalised on a falling mark at Cartmel in July, seeing off Well Educated, and back to winning ways with a game display at Kelso (21f) a fortnight ago. Still well treated on peak form after 3 lb rise. Has won two of last three over hurdles, suited by good ground and one with a chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Placed in the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr in April, Cracking Rhapsody returns to action with a shout on that form. Coastguard Station reverts to hurdling 5lb lower than when winning over fences at Uttoxeter in June and can also feature, but GOT GREY has the more recent form. The five-year-old found only the progressive Saint Riquier too good when upped in class at Market Rasen last week and another bold bid is anticipated off his current mark.
The 5-y-os bookending the weights are the interesting ones, with the promising CRACKING RHAPSODY taken to start his second campaign over hurdles with a bang with victory. Dan Skelton's Got Grey ran a screamer in a valuable contest at Market Rasen on Saturday and is probably still ahead of his mark. Florida Dreams is another to consider.
As he is 4lb well in after being put up for his good second at Market Rasen last Saturday, GOT GREY (nap) should prove hard to beat.

1st (2) (4/1 +27%) Shadows In The Sky |
4/1(+27%) | (2) Shadows In The Sky 4/1, Point winner who opened his Rules account when accounting for 7 rivals over C&D in May. First respectable effort since when fourth to Jimli's Island last time and has visor on now. C&D winner who was a fair fourth at Perth latest and could be dangerous back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/4 -29%) Jimli's Island |
9/4(-29%) | (4) Jimli's Island 9/4, Made a successful start for new trainer in a 3m handicap chase at Perth in August, then backed it up with a ready success over hurdles there. Still very much of interest returning to this sphere and worth a chance to land the hat-trick. 2-2 for current yard with the wins gained over fences and hurdles at Perth; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (18/1 -100%) Ring Pretender |
18/1(-100%) | (8) Ring Pretender 18/1, Couple of fair efforts over hurdles in 2022. Best effort over fences when third (despite meeting trouble) to Shadows In The Sky over C&D 4 months ago, so claims if she can build on that. Placed over C&D in her final run in the spring; needs watching in market on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (5/1 +44%) Kingofthegame |
5/1(+44%) | (9) Kingofthegame 5/1, Finished third on the second of his 2 starts in Irish points and showed something to work on over hurdles. Notable that he makes quick switch to chasing for handicap debut after 7 months off, and he's not without hope. Unexposed 6y but he needs improvement on this handicap/chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (5/1 +64%) The King Of May |
5/1(+64%) | (3) The King Of May 5/1, Finally capitalised on a falling mark at Cartmel but this veteran chaser failed to back it up at Kelso last time. Others look more appealing. Ended long losing streak at Cartmel in July but was well held at Kelso last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (15/2 -36%) Croagh Patrick |
15/2(-36%) | (6) Croagh Patrick 15/2, On a long losing run but well treated and back on track when fourth at Cartmel 76 days ago. Has won here in the past and, with cheekpieces refitted, he merits respect. Last win was in 2022 and he's been beaten 14l or more in last five runs; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (17/2 +15%) Sputnik |
17/2(+15%) | (10) Sputnik 17/2, C&D winner who was well below form on his final outing for Jackie Stephen and was sold cheaply since, so hard to make a strong case for unless the market speaks in his favour after three months off. Both wins in 2022 and he's been hard to predict; risks attached on return for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (12/1 -85%) Coniston Clouds |
12/1(-85%) | (1) Coniston Clouds 12/1, Hurdles winner last spring and struck at first time of asking over fences at Catterick (19.2f) in November. Mixed results since (including a nasty fall) but appeals as the type to get back on the up after four months off. Still unexposed over fences but he has something to prove after another break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (16/1 -14%) Follow Your Arrow |
16/1(-14%) | (7) Follow Your Arrow 16/1, Has a poor strike rate and, while he's edged down to a lenient mark, he hasn't been threatening to capitalise lately. Has generally struggled in last eight runs and looks opposable back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (80/1 -142%) Animore |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Animore 80/1, Hasn't fired over fences for current stable and looks firmly up against it again. Has struggled since returning from a lengthy absence and was pulled up at Perth last week. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The hat-trick seeking Jimli's Island hasn't looked back since racing under the tutelage of Susan Corbett in August, as evidenced when completing a double over hurdles at Perth last month, and another bold bid is forecast reverting to chasing. However, the combination of a 9lb higher rating and a very different course may leave the eight-year-old vulnerable. With that in mind, it may be worth taking a punt on stable debutant SPUTNIK, a C&D winner here in April 2022 who lurks on an attractive mark. Shadows In The Sky is another that should appreciate a return to this venue.
JIMILI'S ISLAND has taken off since joining this stable and it's unlikely the handicapper has caught up with him, so he's fancied to land the hat-trick at the possible expense of Croagh Patrick, who is lingering on a dangerous mark. Coniston Clouds is a definite player if back on track after a break.
Top of the list is JIMLI'S ISLAND, who has proved something a revelation for his new yard, with wins over fences and hurdles at Perth.

1st (3) (14/1 -180%) Could Be Trouble |
14/1(-180%) | (3) Could Be Trouble 14/1, Scored at Catterick in February but off 13 weeks/had a wind op before a below-form eighth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Worcester (20f, good) 23 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Disappointing since Catterick win in February and was tailed off at Worcester last month. |

2nd (4) (11/4 +39%) Similar Story |
11/4(+39%) | (4) Similar Story 11/4, Easy winner of a point and stepped forward from previous hurdling efforts when runner-up at Musselburgh. Failed to back it up when a well-held fifth at Perth later in the spring though so she needs to hit the ground running on her return. 0-7 over hurdles and she flopped in final run last season; something to prove on return. |

3rd (6) (5/2 +55%) You Some Girl |
5/2(+55%) | (6) You Some Girl 5/2, A fair bumper winner but still a maiden in this sphere and hung badly right when a respectable third of 9 in handicap hurdle at Cartmel (22.1f, good) 98 days ago. 4 lb "wrong" in the weights too but not ruled out with Brian Hughes now in the saddle. Fair third at Cartmel but is out of the weights here after another break; has work to do. |

4th (5) (9/1 -80%) Vanilla Dancer |
9/1(-80%) | (5) Vanilla Dancer 9/1, Progressive in bumpers, scoring at Sedgefield last November. Hasn't yet replicated that over hurdles and just a fair fourth when hooded in C&D novice in June. More is needed now going into handicaps. Some promise over hurdles but she needs improvement now switched to a handicap on return. |

5th (2) (5/1 -11%) Moonlight Glory |
5/1(-11%) | (2) Moonlight Glory 5/1, Bagged three wins during a productive 2023/24 campaign, including over C&D, and she hinted at a revival when fifth of 12 in handicap at Sedgefield (19.8f, good) 11 days ago. Weighted to go close. On dangerous mark and ran better than the bare facts at Sedgefield latest; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (4/1 -60%) Police Academy |
4/1(-60%) | (1) Police Academy 4/1, Made a fine start for Fergal O'Brien, winning 3 of her first 4 starts over hurdles. Failed to build on a promising chasing debut when only fifth at Worcester last time but not discounted reverted to this sphere. Triple hurdle winner and she's on a workable mark back in this sphere; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (22/1 +12%) Atlanticexpress |
22/1(+12%) | (7) Atlanticexpress 22/1, Well held on her debut for Joseph O'Brien at Punchestown in February and has offered little for her current yard, only eighth on her handicap debut at Cartmel in June. Tongue tied with work to do. Has struggled in all four runs including a Cartmel handicap in June; lots to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having travelled with more verve on her fifth-placed finish at Sedgefield last month, MOONLIGHT GLORY looks primed for a big run. Mark Walford's mare scored over track and trip in May 2023 and she makes most appeal. Although Similar Story hasn't proved the most consistent over hurdles, a 163-day layoff may have freshened her up. The six-year-old is feared most, ahead of You Some Girl.
C&D winner MOONLIGHT GLORY signalled she is ready to strike again when a recent fifth at Sedgfield so looks the way to go here. Police Academy could emerge as the main danger now reverted to this sphere after a brief stint chasing, with You Some Girl also in the picture with Brian Hughes up for the first time.
Preference is for triple hurdle winner POLICE ACADEMY, who returns to this sphere off only 1lb higher than for her last success.
Ths is the racecard key.
