1st (4) ![]() Leave Her To Me |
6/1(-9%) | (4) Leave Her To Me 6/1, Bumper winner in 2022 and came good at the second time of asking over hurdles back from an absence at Uttoxeter last July. Hasn't gone on from that since but looked in the process of running well in a close third when falling 2 out in the Huntingdon handicap won by Alexandra Larose last month. Running well when falling two out at Huntingdon last month and could be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Jackeline |
9/2(+25%) | (6) Jackeline 9/2, Built on earlier promise to get off the mark in 2m course handicap hurdle in December. Shaped better than the result when fourth of 13 over 2m at Huntingdon latest, pressing for home too far out. Big player. Won over 2m here in December; could be in the mix if seeing out this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Make Sunshine |
18/1(-29%) | (5) Make Sunshine 18/1, Modest maiden in Ireland but didn't get the chance to show whether she could fare any better for new yard in 19.5f Huntingdon handicap 14 days ago, in touch when badly hampered after 3 out. Callum Pritchard does the steering. Check betting on second stable start but she was soundly beaten at Huntingdon recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Mistral Blue |
12/1(+45%) | (3) Mistral Blue 12/1, Made a winning start over hurdles in mares' novice at Doncaster (19.5f, good) last season but that remains a standout effort, pulling up in handicaps on her last 2 outings. The cheekpieces she wore last time are quickly discarded. Won on hurdle debut in December 2023 but a long way below that level subsequently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Alexandra Larose |
8/11(+20%) | (1) Alexandra Larose 8/11, On the up since sent handicapping, winning around 2½m at Huntingdon and Southwell in recent weeks. A 7 lb penalty shouldn't prevent her making a bold bid for the hat-trick. Has won her last two and this progressive 5yo could be tough to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) ![]() No Post On Sundays |
80/1(-21%) | (9) No Post On Sundays 80/1, No promise in maiden hurdles and can only watch now handicapping after 7 months off. Step in right direction when last seen but further improvement needed on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Clashmore Banter |
66/1(-65%) | (8) Clashmore Banter 66/1, Didn't offer much in points and beaten a long way in maiden hurdles. More chance now handicapping off a basement mark but still hard to make a case for. Tongue tied first time. Showed ability on debut in a point but has struggled in points/maiden hurdles since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Sadies Diamond |
15/2(+66%) | (7) Sadies Diamond 15/2, Maiden but was placed 3 times in handicap chases for Shark Hanlon last summer. Back hurdling for new yard after 6 months off. Jackeline probably the yard first string unless the betting hints otherwise. 0-15 but on a competitive mark on best Irish chase form; not ruled out each-way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The switch to handicap company has seen ALEXANDRA LAROSE in a much better light, with the five-year-old arriving in search of a hat-trick of victories. The most recent of those came at Southwell last week and she is capable of further progression, despite a 7lb penalty. Hellfire Princess may bounce back from her latest effort at Ludlow, at a track where she has tasted success before. Others to note are Leave Her To Me and Jackeline.
C&D specialist HELLFIRE PRINCESS might be able to end the winning run of Alexandra Larose. Jackeline was better than the result at Huntingdon last time and also makes the shortlist.
The Olly Murphy-trained ALEXANDRA LAROSE has thrived since switching to handicaps and can complete a hat-trick.

1st (4) ![]() King's Consort |
50/1(0%) | (4) King's Consort 50/1, Made the frame in a couple of point bumpers in spring 2023 but well beaten in maiden/novice hurdles since switching to Rules. Placed in two point bumpers in 2023 but hasn't yet shown any worthwhile form under rules.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Versace Twentyone |
2/1(+27%) | (7) Versace Twentyone 2/1, Won a Roscommon bumper for Gordon Elliott last summer. Fair form switched to hurdles for this yard in the autumn and returns from a 138-day break in a weak race. Respectable effort on handicap debut at Exeter latest and looks a likely player here.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Jackie Can |
28/1(+30%) | (3) Jackie Can 28/1, Showed some promise on the first of 2 starts in bumpers but well held in 3 novice hurdles in November/December. Needs improvement back from a break. Made a promising debut in a Warwick bumper (good) last May but has gone backwards since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Bellas Bridge |
4/9(+39%) | (1) Bellas Bridge 4/9, Point/bumper winner who has been placed on 2 of her 3 stars over hurdles this season, returning from a 12-week break to finish 3 lengths second at Chepstow (19.5f) 10 days ago. Should be on the premises again. Ran well without really threatening the winner at Chepstow (2m3f, good) latest; player.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Big Ange |
80/1(+20%) | (2) Big Ange 80/1, Little to shout about so far and she's probably more one for handicaps in due course. Unable to complete in three attempts since a moderate debut effort; can only watch.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Little Miller |
66/1(-230%) | (5) Little Miller 66/1, Won her sole start in Irish points but no show in 2 maiden hurdles at Southwell for new connections. Won a mares' maiden point (debut) in Ireland; well beaten in two Southwell hurdles.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) ![]() Rubymurree |
28/1(-12%) | (6) Rubymurree 28/1, In good hands but hasn't shown much in 2 similar races in recent months. Has raced too freely in both starts, failing to complete at Huntingdon latest.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BELLAS BRIDGE took a step back in the right direction when runner-up at Chepstow 10 days ago and Jamie Snowden's mare appears to have been found an ideal opportunity for a first success over timber. Lara Kaleo may have finished closer but for a bad mistake at the last when third on her racecourse debut over 2m here. She is more than entitled to improve from that effort, while Versace Twentyone appears best of the remainder.
LARA KALEO showed promise on her debut here 6 weeks ago and might be worth siding with to improve past the more-established Versace Twentyone. Bellas Bridge should also be on the premises.
Having shown promise on her C&D debut, LARA KALEO can take advantage of her age allowance and score this time.

1st (2) ![]() Chestnut Pete |
14/1(-17%) | (2) Chestnut Pete 14/1, Long-standing maiden. Proved ability remains on third run back from a long absence when third at Southwell last week but he'll need to step forward again to trouble Iskar d'Airy. Placed for the third time in seven chase starts at Southwell latest; more needed.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Iskar D'airy |
10/11(-14%) | (3) Iskar D'airy 10/11, Fair 2m hurdle winner who left his first 2 efforts over fences well behind when winning comfortably at Huntingdon (2m good to soft) in a refitted tongue tie (retained) last Wednesday. A 7 lb penalty shouldn't stop him if showing up here in the same form. Penalised for Huntingdon win but if in similar form, he would look well treated.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Pooroldmackley |
9/1(+55%) | (5) Pooroldmackley 9/1, Failed to complete both starts in points and only poor form over hurdles, making no impact in handicaps on his last 3 outings. Ran over 3m last time and now drops back to 2m for this chase debut. In good hands but hurdles form suggests it's a big ask for him to win on chase debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Berliet Express |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Berliet Express 33/1, Dual winner over hurdles but remains a maiden over fences, finishing a remote sixth at Huntingdon last time. Remains to be seen whether first-time cheekpieces (replacing regular tongue tie) make any difference. Dual 2m hurdle winner but 7lb drop and cheekpieces still unlikely to see him win this.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Dirty Den |
2/1(+20%) | (1) Dirty Den 2/1, Runner-up in 2m handicap hurdles on his last 3 starts and likely to play a prominent role again if taking to chasing at the first time of asking. Bumper winner; placed in 4-9 hurdle starts; should be competitive if jumping well enough.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ISKAR D'AIRY was a revelation at Huntingdon last week when allowed to make the running, and the seven-year-old is expected to be a tough nut to crack if arriving here in similar form. Night Jet lost a shoe when underperforming at Bangor last time and has every chance of leaving that effort behind him. Dirty Den and Chestnut Pete head the remainder.
A race which to some extent revolves around ISKAR D'AIRY, who proved well suited by a switch to front-running tactics at Huntingdon last week and will likely dominate again if showing up here in the same form. Dirty Den can give him most to do if translating his recent good hurdle form to fences at the first time of asking.
If ISKAR D'AIRY can get close to replicating his Huntingdon winning effort under a penalty he looks well placed to follow up.

1st (1) ![]() Renoir |
5/2(-25%) | (1) Renoir 5/2, A fair 1m4f Flat scorer for Thomas Faulkner who has taken well to hurdling for his current yard, posting an excellent fourth of 7 in handicap at Taunton (2m) 16 days ago. Player off the same mark. Improved on his handicap debut at Taunton (2m, good) recently; should be thereabouts.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Time Interval |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Time Interval 3/1, C&D winner last May and advanced his form when fourth of 9 on his handicap hurdle debut over C&D 18 days ago, despite pulling hard. Weighted to go well off a 2 lb lower mark. Fourth back over C&D (good) on his handicap debut latest; drops 2lb and not ruled out.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Lenjoleur De Palma |
4/1(+20%) | (7) Lenjoleur De Palma 4/1, In the frame on all his three starts over hurdles, not disgraced when fourth of 7 in juvenile at Newbury (16.3f, good to soft, 9/1) 70 days ago. Needs this switch to handicaps to spark major improvement. Third (C&D, good) on debut; this looks a stiff task on handicap debut from this mark.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Strong As Steel |
6/1(+82%) | (6) Strong As Steel 6/1, A fairly useful bumper performer but he's yet to fire in four runs in this sphere, pulled up on his handicap debut at Southwell (20.4f, soft) 37 days ago. Others more persuasive. Pulled up on handicap debut (2m4f, good to soft) latest; drops 4lb; more needed.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() A Good Yomp |
9/1(-13%) | (2) A Good Yomp 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden who caught the eye when seventh of 14 in novice hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, heavy) 45 days ago, having hopeless task from position. Can do better now handicapping. Not without interest. Well beaten at Chepstow last month and looks in need of a favour from the handicapper.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Twyford's Diamond |
13/2(0%) | (5) Twyford's Diamond 13/2, Still a maiden and he was pulled up in handicap hurdle at Bangor (19.6f, heavy, 5/1) 28 days ago. In good hands but lots more needed fitted with blinkers for the first time. Each-way player based on best form but needs to be much better than her last two starts.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) ![]() Privilege |
18/1(+45%) | (4) Privilege 18/1, Fair maiden hurdler in Ireland but pulled up on both outings for Sheila Lewis last summer. Lots more needed for his new yard after 8 months off. Pulled up in all three starts for Sheila Lewis; changed hands since; watching brief.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
RENOIR shaped with promise on his handicap bow at Taunton and, if able to find any further improvement, the Ben Clarke-trained top-weight might be able to break through. Time Interval landed a maiden hurdle over C&D in May last year, but he wasn't quite as effective in a handicap here most recently. He's still respected from 2lb lower, while Lenjoleur De Palma is most appealing of the remainder.
Ben Clarke's RENOIR has made a positive start in this sphere and this fair Flat scorer looks the way to go on the back of an excellent Taunton fourth. C&D winner Time Interval figures on a handy mark and rates a big threat though, while handicap debutant A Good Yomp remains with potential and needs considering too.
A moderate contest where the topweight RENOIR (nap) can provide the answer, after a respectable handicap debut last time.

1st (1) ![]() Pep Talking |
5/2(+38%) | (1) Pep Talking 5/2, A dual winner (around 2m4f) in November for his current yard and not disgraced after 9 weeks off when third of 8 in handicap chase at Huntingdon (23.6f, good to soft) 24 days ago. Can go well with cheekpieces added. Two wins in a row in November and he's one to consider now back down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Everyonesacritic |
10/3(-105%) | (4) Everyonesacritic 10/3, On the up after handicap wins last month over C&D and at Leicester (20.1f, heavy) 29 days ago. Up another 3 lb but he holds leading claims in his hat-trick bid. Won over C&D last month and followed up at Leicester; leading claims in hat-trick bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Noah's Light |
18/1(+45%) | (7) Noah's Light 18/1, Scored at Newton Abbot last July but arrives out of sorts, a remote eighth in 2m5f Fakenham handicap chase 66 days ago. Lots to prove. Won off 1lb higher at Newton Abbot last July but has struggled on his last few starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Perfect Pupil |
13/2(+41%) | (2) Perfect Pupil 13/2, Modest ex-Irish hurdler/chaser who wasn't discredited on his yard debut when fourth of 6 in handicap chase at Leicester (20.1f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Not ruled out. Made no impact on stable debut at Leicester and now 0-5 over fences; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Mystic Man |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Mystic Man 33/1, Successful 4 times over fences in 2023 but below par several times for Harry Derham last year and he's yet to scale a revival for his present yard from his sliding mark. One to watch in the betting but he's hard to fancy on recent evidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Greenrock Abbey |
9/2(+44%) | (3) Greenrock Abbey 9/2, Course winner who comes here below par, tried in blinkers when fifth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, good) 6 days ago. Back chasing with more required. Two-time course winner who is on a dangerous mark but has struggled this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Another Mystery |
4/1(-45%) | (5) Another Mystery 4/1, Unreliable type who posted a solid third of 4 after 10 months off in handicap chase at Doncaster (19.1f, good) 24 days ago. Needs to back it up now. Good second at Uttoxeter last May and could build on this month's fair comeback run. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
On target over track and trip before following up at Leicester, EVERYONESACRITIC will take all the beating from 3lb higher if handling the forecast quicker conditions. Pep Talking finished a remote third at Huntingdon but the addition of first-time cheekpieces could elicit some improvement, while the return to faster ground could also be key (two from five in good-ground handicaps). Another Mystery can chase the pair home.
EVERYONESACRITIC arrives on an upward curve and is taken to make light of a 3 lb weight rise and complete his hat-trick. Pep Talking is expected to build on a recent Huntingdon third after a break and pose the biggest threat with Perfect Pupil also in the mix for his new handler.
This could go to ANOTHER MYSTERY, who returned from an absence with a respectable run at Doncaster this month and can build on that.

1st (2) ![]() Jimbo Sport |
4/5(+51%) | (2) Jimbo Sport 4/5, £32,000 3-y-o, £28,000 5-y-o, No Risk At All gelding. Made the frame on all 3 starts in Irish points, runner-up on latest one in December. A likely player on his Rules debut. Placed in points and makes bumper debut with new yard in fine form; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Soldier Saint |
3/1(-33%) | (4) Soldier Saint 3/1, Order of St George gelding looked in need of the experience when a debut ninth of 12 in bumper (9/2) at Huntingdon (15.8f, soft) 48 days ago. Hood on 1st time. Can take a step forward. Didn't threaten on debut but open to plenty of improvement for his top yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Gower Spirit |
22/1(-120%) | (6) Gower Spirit 22/1, Well-beaten last of 9 in listed bumper at Sandown (16f, good to soft, 20/1) on NH debut 18 days ago. Needs to take a big step forward. Tailed off on recent debut at Sandown but faced a tough task; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() King Sacre |
12/1(+14%) | (3) King Sacre 12/1, £65,000 3-y-o, Bathyrhon gelding. Closely related to fairly useful hurdle winner/useful chaser Emir Sacree, stays 3m, and half-brother to fair hurdler Inferno Sacree. Wears hood. Market can guide on his debut. Likeable pedigree; stable has modest bumper strike-rate; he may be one for the future. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Out The Mist |
5/1(+17%) | (7) Out The Mist 5/1, Getaway gelding. Dam unraced sister to useful hurdle winner/very smart chaser (stayed 3¾m) Ballycasey. Considered newcomer. Trainer has done well in bumpers this season; no surprise to see a good run on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Good Buy Dolly |
28/1(-75%) | (5) Good Buy Dolly 28/1, Had a wind op before coming in last of 11 in bumper at Warwick (16f, soft) on NH debut 125 days ago. In good hands but needs a major step forward. Tailed off on debut in November but should be capable of much better at some stage. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Soldier Saint folded tamely on his racecourse debut and connections will be hopeful that a hood can spark an improved display. It might be best to look elsewhere, though, and a chance is taken on OUT THE MIST. Tom Weston's gelding, whose dam is a full-sister to former high-class chaser Ballycasey, makes plenty of appeal on paper and although his future will probably lie over further, this doesn't look the deepest bumper. Jimbo Sport heads the remainder.
The market should reveal plenty here but it could pay to side with Ben Pauling's JIMBO SPORT, runner-up in an Irish point before Christmas, to make a winning start under Rules. Nicky Henderson's Soldier Saint should take a step forward from his debut Huntingdon ninth and could emerge as the chief threat ahead of newcomer Out The Mist, who needs monitoring in the betting.
Two-time point runner-up JIMBO SPORT makes his bumper debut with new trainer Ben Pauling firmly among the winners and earns the vote.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
