LTO Selection:

12:58 Hereford Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LELANT took a nice step forward to fill the runner-up spot on only his second handicap start at Taunton in November and he was given a 5lb rise for that effort. The six-year-old could have more to offer and is taken to defy his rating of 105. The main threat is La Gomera, who was beaten nine lengths by a potentially nice type in Aston Martini over C&D on her latest outing and she could get into contention on her handicap bow. Of the remainder, Talimar Pearl appeals most after his second at Fontwell.

SILVER ATOM made a reasonable return to hurdles when keeping on from too far back for third over C&D in November and is given a chance to build on that. Lelant, Libor Lad and the unexposed I Got Stung head the many possible dangers in a competitive opener.

Everything would suggest that I GOT STUNG should improve for going further on his handicap debut.

Looks a modest maiden on the Flat and now over hurdles.
LTO Selection:

13:28 Hereford Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GOBLET OF FIRE was well held when finishing fourth on his hurdles debut on heavy Sandown ground last time, which was an underwhelming start. However, he could easily take a big leap forward from that effort for the Nicky Henderson yard and the better ground could aid his cause. Silverbridge showed some fair ability on the Flat in a pair of maidens in Ireland and could have a say on his hurdles/stable debut, while Fantastic Artist is noted too.

Having been in good form on the Flat, GOBLET OF FIRE showed an aptitude for hurdling when fourth at Sandown in December and he can build on that effort to get off the mark in this sphere. Maasai Mara was a fairly useful performer on the level for the Gosdens and is feared most on his hurdles debut, ahead of Silverbridge.

Goblet Of Fire made a satisfactory hurdles debut at Sandown but MAASAI MARA will be hard for him to handle judged on Flat form.

LTO Selection:

13:58 Hereford Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LIGHTENING MAHLER won her only point-to-point start in good style in April last year and changed hands for 72,000 pounds after that effort. The daughter of Mahler could easily make an impression on her debut under Rules for her top connections. The main threat is Melusine De Pail, who brings experience to the table after placing on each of her two starts over hurdles so far. Any market support for Bare Assets in the tongue-tie would also be of interest.

The suggestion is Dan Skelton point winner LIGHTENING MAHLER, with confidence in her chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Melusine de Pail has been placed twice in similar races and might be the one to profit should the selection fail to deliver. Bare Assets is another point recruit who could have a say.

This looks a good opportunity for MELUSINE DE PAIL who has experience over hurdles and easily the best form.

KIT'S COTY offered plenty of encouragement when a staying-on fourth over an extended 2m2f at Exeter in November. The daughter of Black Sam Bellamy boasts plenty of stamina in her pedigree and this longer trip may eke out the required improvement. Bumper winner Betty's Tiara also makes some appeal now tackling hurdles for the first time and the six-year-old is feared most, ahead of Scarlet O'tara.

DROMLAC JURY held every chance when coming down in an Irish point and has been purchased for a hefty sum since, so she's worth taking a chance on switched to hurdling. Kit's Coty remains with potential back up in trip and Betty's Tiara is an interesting hurdling debutante.

Kit's Coty and After Many Days are preferred among those who have run over hurdles. BETTY'S TIARA looked interesting in bumpers.

14:58 Hereford Handicap Chase (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HARDY BOY has been knocking on the door of late and the seven-year-old looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to get his head in front. Although Ben Pauling's inmate has a 2lb rise to contend with for his close-up second at Taunton last month, this stiffer test of stamina may help. Inflexible's jumping has proved somewhat of a hinderance on his two chase starts this season, but he lurks on an attractive mark and is noted along with Shot Boii.

This looks a good opportunity for INVINCIBLE NAO to gain his first win in Britain, Gary Moore's gelding having showed the benefit of experience when a good third at Lingfield last month. Hardy Boy has been running consistently well in defeat this season and should give another good account, with Langley Hundred also respected if able to return to something like his chase debut form.

Hardy Boy is running well but all of his chase form is on good ground or good to soft. A chance is taken on INVINCIBLE NAO.

(5) Hill Of Tara 4/7, Much improved sent handicapping this season, making it 3 wins from 4 starts in such company in 6-runner event at Haydock (24.3f, heavy) last week. Goes unpenalised for that success and seems sure to go well again providing this doesn't come too soon.
Four runs on heavy ground, three wins; latest was 3m five days ago and he's unpenalised.

(4) Mactavish 5/1, Opened his account here in October and followed up from a 5 lb higher mark with an even better performance (21.7f) the following month. Had his winning run ended at Taunton (23.9f) 3 weeks ago but ran into a couple of progressive rivals, so there's good reason to think he's still improving.
Heavy defeats in his only two starts on soft; in good form on better ground recently.

Creditable efforts from a ratings perspective both outings since but did go about things in laboured fashion at Lingfield on most recent outing.

15:28 Hereford Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mactavish was far from disgraced when finishing third in a competitive handicap hurdle at Taunton last month and he's expected to remain competitive off a 3lb higher mark. However, the seven-year-old may have his work cut out to deny recent Haydock winner HILL OF TARA. Venetia Williams' charge escapes a penalty and should take all of the beating if coping with this quick turnaround. Handicap debutant Faha Belle could also have a say.

An open-looking event with the vote going to A DUBLIN JOB, who shaped encouragingly starting out for Harry Derham at Market Rasen 4 weeks ago. Mactavish suggested he's still going the right way when third in a strong-looking race at Taunton on his most recent outing, with the unpenalised Haydock-scorer Hill of Tara completing the shortlist.

The gap of only five days is the chief question which HILL OF TARA (nap) has to answer, off the same mark as when winning last Saturday.

15:58 Hereford Handicap Chase (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Martalmix'jac is only 2lb higher than his recent runner-up effort at Ludlow and is likely to be in the shake-up once more. However, it could be worth taking a punt on chase debutant SAMATIAN. The seven-year-old shaped better than the bare form suggests when sixth at Taunton last month and he looks just the type who could excel in this discipline. Natty Night comes with risks attached after almost refusing to race at Exeter, but he could go well if in the right mood.

NATTY NIGHT hasn't really been on his game this term but his stable continues to thrive and a return to this track could see him in a better light, so he's narrowly preferred to Martalmix'jac, who arrives in top form. Born At Midnight could take a hand if he's fit off the back of a 10-month absence.

Provided there's no repeat of his Exeter misdemeanors, then NATTY NIGHT should have a chase of this nature in him.
