She's Out Of Reach |
(9) (40/1 +0%)40/1(+0%) | (9) She's Out Of Reach 40/1, Modest form. Second in a 1½m Leicester seller in May but down the field in 2m Wolverhampton handicap later that month (final start for Louise Allan). Would need to see market support to consider now starting out for new yard after a break. Well beaten in May when last seen; has changed stables; others have less to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (6) (2.5/1 +29%) She's A Novelty |
2.5/1(+29%) | (6) She's A Novelty 2.5/1, Placed twice before resuming winning ways in amateur riders' event at Windsor (11.5f, good to firm) 25 days ago. Enters calculations despite a 5 lb rise. Won comfortably at Windsor and a 5lb rise isn't harsh; could play another leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/1 +0%) Unplugged |
4/1(+0%) | (1) Unplugged 4/1, C&D winner in June and went in again at Pontefract in July. 13/2, creditable 2¼ lengths fourth of 10 to Bollin Margaret in handicap at Ripon 9 days ago. Likely to be thereabouts under Serena Brotherton. Won two in a row under Serena Brotherton this summer (the first over C&D); can go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (12/1 -9%) Super Stars |
12/1(-9%) | (7) Super Stars 12/1, 5/2, seventh of 9 in handicap at Ayr (1m, firm) 86 days ago, needing stiffer test. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving Adrian Keatley. 18-race maiden but on a handy mark and he's capable of being in the mix on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 +9%) Turner Girl |
10/1(+9%) | (5) Turner Girl 10/1, Latest win at Newcastle (12.5f) in August. Eighth of 10 in handicap (5/1) at Lingfield (1½mf, AW) 17 days ago. Bounce back needed. Disappointing at Lingfield last time but in good form previously and she's not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7.5/1 -15%) Dogged |
7.5/1(-15%) | (3) Dogged 7.5/1, Four wins from 8 runs this year, the latest at Ripon (11f) 10 days ago. Only scraped home on that occasion so a 5 lb penalty demands more of him. Three wins from last four starts and this bang-in-form front-runner has to be respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (5.5/1 -83%) Bollin Margaret |
5.5/1(-83%) | (2) Bollin Margaret 5.5/1, Third win of a productive year when seeing off 9 rivals in a 1¼m Ripon apprentice race 9 days ago. Escapes a penalty so another bold bid looks assured. Escapes penalty for last week's apprentice h'cap win at Ripon; has to be in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (8/1 +20%) Sameem |
8/1(+20%) | (8) Sameem 8/1, Latest win at Ripon in June. 9/2, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at Catterick (1½m, good) 17 days ago. Won under Emily Roberts in June and fair efforts the last twice; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (9/1 +25%) Restorer |
9/1(+25%) | (4) Restorer 9/1, Twenty eight runs since last win in 2020. 16/1, bit below form fifth of 11 in handicap at Epsom (1½m, good) 10 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Others more persuasive. Some fair efforts this year but this 11yo's losing sequence goes back to September 2020. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SHE'S A NOVELTY recorded her first success on the level when sauntering to victory at Windsor last month and, although she's been raised 5lb since, the manner of her victory suggested there could be more to come from this dual-purpose mare. Bollin Margaret is officially 3lb well-in having won in game fashion at Ripon nine days ago, and must enter calculations along with Dogged.
BOLLIN MARGARET is unpenalised for last week's Ripon apprentice success so might be up to landing win number 4 of the season. Fellow last-time-out scorer She's A Novelty is second choice ahead of Unplugged, who was fourth to the selection at Ripon last week.
Having won comfortably at Windsor last time the mare SHE'S A NOVELTY is taken to defy a 5lb rise and follow up. Dogged is a danger.

1st (1) (0.67/1 +19%) Elmonjed |
0.67/1(+19%) | (1) Elmonjed 0.67/1, Bred to be useful and produced a promising first effort when winning 9-runner maiden at Lingfield (6f, good to firm, 11/1) on debut 17 days ago, cosily. Will take the beating with prospect of more to come. Defied evident inexperience to win on debut; strong claims under a 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (11/1 +0%) Robbo |
11/1(+0%) | (10) Robbo 11/1, £40,000 yearling, Camacho colt. Dam lightly-raced half-sister to Preis der Diana winner Mystic Lips, runner-up in German 1000 Guineas. Left debut form behind when runner-up at Newmarket 3 weeks ago. Second of six at Newmarket on second start; could improve further and not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (4/1 +11%) Finbar Furey |
4/1(+11%) | (5) Finbar Furey 4/1, Promising individual. 8/1, second of 9 in novice event at Salisbury (6f, good) on debut 22 days ago, no match for winner. Should have more to offer. Runner-up on last month's debut at Salisbury and pedigree provides optimism he'll improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (12/1 +14%) Ingleby Archie |
12/1(+14%) | (8) Ingleby Archie 12/1, Matched debut form when third of 11 in novice event (8/1) at Redcar (6f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Third on both starts; further improvement is required but he's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (6/1 -20%) First Encore |
6/1(-20%) | (6) First Encore 6/1, Stepped up slightly on debut run when third of 11 in maiden at Salisbury (6f, good) 40 days ago. Open to improvement. Third at Salisbury on second start and could continue to progress; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (200/1 -203%) Elliott |
200/1(-203%) | (3) Elliott 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 10 in minor event (33/1) at Redcar (6f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Took a step forward on second start but he'll be of greater interest in modest handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (22/1 -38%) Fauntleroy |
22/1(-38%) | (4) Fauntleroy 22/1, Seventh of 9 in maiden (9/2) at Windsor (6f, good to firm) on debut 73 days ago, missing break. Should progress. Gelded since June debut and could leave that initial form well behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (50/1 -25%) Made All |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (125/1 -89%) Frankie Valliance |
125/1(-89%) | (7) Frankie Valliance 125/1, 28/1, last of 8 in novice event at Ripon (6f, good) on debut 19 days ago, slowly away. 28-1, always in rear on debut at Ripon three weeks ago and dramatic improvement is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (100/1 -52%) Drifts Away |
100/1(-52%) | (2) Drifts Away 100/1, Foaled January 16. £72,000 yearling, Zoustar colt. Dam, 5f/6f winner (including at 2 yrs), out of half-sister to very smart winner up to 1½m Bronze Cannon. Cost £72,000; potential in pedigree; interesting to see how he goes in betting on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Despite racing keenly, there was plenty to like about the way Finbar Furey stuck to his task when runner-up at Salisbury on debut last month and, if settling better this time, he could go very close. However, ELMONJED gets the nod. This son of Blue Point broke the juvenile track record at Lingfield on debut and could be another smart sort for connections. Ingleby Archie improved for the step up in trip at Redcar recently and cant be discounted.
ELMONJED has already been gelded but he's bred to be pretty smart and he wasn't extended to make a winning debut at Lingfield 17 days ago. On that evidence, he's more than capable of defying a penalty, with Finbar Furey and First Encore likely to offer most resistance.

1st (2) (4.5/1 -29%) Angel Shared |
4.5/1(-29%) | (2) Angel Shared 4.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Third of 5 in nursery (5/2) at Leicester (5f, soft) 36 days ago. Needs to improve. Engaged 1.40 Bath Wednesday. The return to better ground may help in this second nursery and she's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (1.88/1 +37%) Be Here Now |
1.88/1(+37%) | (3) Be Here Now 1.88/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Good second of 7 in nursery at Ripon (5f, good, 3/1) 9 days ago, running on. Likely to put up another bold showing. 0-5 but has run well to go close in his two nurseries and could be bang there once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (1.88/1 -15%) Goodeveningmrbond |
1.88/1(-15%) | (1) Goodeveningmrbond 1.88/1, Career best when winning 9-runner nursery at Chepstow (5.1f, good, 6/1) 10 days ago, slowly away. Carries penalty. On the upgrade and boasts leading claims. Won recent Chepstow nursery; major player if the better ground isn't an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (3.5/1 +30%) Blue Moon Baby |
3.5/1(+30%) | (4) Blue Moon Baby 3.5/1, Lightly-raced winner. 6/1, career best when winning 9-runner nursery at Musselburgh (5f, good to firm) 8 days ago, pushed out. Open to further improvement, so makes appeal under a penalty. Cosy winner on nursery debut and a 6lb penalty may not stop her this afternoon. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Blue Moon Baby is turned out quickly having won cosily at Musselburgh eight days ago and must enter calculations despite the 6lb penalty. Another who is running under a penalty is the Jack Jones-trained GOODEVENINGMRBOND, who quickened up smartly to win at Chepstow 10 days ago and, with William Buick now in the saddle, he narrowly edges the vote. Be Here Now is also considered.
GOODEVENINGMRBOND overcame a sluggish start to open his account at Chepstow 10 days ago and a penalty might not be enough to stop him following up such was the authority of that performance. Fellow last-time-out winner Blue Moon Baby is a danger and Be Here Now is going the right way.
The John Quinn-trained BLUE MOON BABY appeared to have much more in hand than the official winning margin at Musselburgh.

Dam lightly-raced sister to very smart winner up to 1¼m Misty For Me (won Irish 1000 Guineas/Prix Marcel Boussac). Appealing newcomer. 185,000euros 2yo (breeze-ups); with a top trainer; could be in the mix on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (3/1 +10%) L'Ennemi |
3/1(+10%) | (3) L'Ennemi 3/1, €190,000 yearling, Siyouni colt. Half-brother to several winners, including very smart winner up to 7f Polydream and smart winner up to 1m Evaporation. Much improved from debut when second of 13 in maiden (15/8) at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Can do better again. Runner-up at Beverley on second start and this well-bred colt sets a good form standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (7.5/1 -36%) Victorious Street |
7.5/1(-36%) | (8) Victorious Street 7.5/1, Foaled March 5. $90,000 yearling, €370,370 2-y-o, Street Sense colt. Half-brother to winner Pharaoh's Prophecy. Interesting newcomer and yard can ready them first time up. Cost 370,370euros at Dubai breeze-ups in March; could have a part to play on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (12/1 +0%) Mannerism |
12/1(+0%) | (5) Mannerism 12/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 8 in C&D novice (good to firm, 9/2) 27 days ago. This is tougher and he's probably one for handicaps. Promise on both starts; seemingly has his limitations but can give another good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (10/1 -25%) Gulf Legend |
10/1(-25%) | (1) Gulf Legend 10/1, Foaled April 27. 300,000 gns yearling (private), Dubawi colt. Half-brother to several winners, including very smart French 10.4f-1½m winner Feed The Flame and smart French/US winner up to 9f Sacred Life. 7th (6) (16/1 -33%) Odin Legacy |
16/1(-33%) | (6) Odin Legacy 16/1, Foaled March 31. €575,000 yearling, Kodiac colt. Brother to 7f/1m winner Loaded and winner up to 7f Magical Sunset, both useful, and half-brother to smart/ungenuine 6f winner Hey Jonesy. Dam 2-y-o 1m winner. Lots to like on paper and one to note. 575,000euros yearling; interesting newcomer, all the more so if strong in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (50/1 +38%) Hawa Jumeirah |
50/1(+38%) | (2) Hawa Jumeirah 50/1, Universal colt. Dam 2-y-o 5f/5.4f winner. Promise in a couple of maidens. Looks one for handicaps. Soundly beaten sixth on his first two starts and considerable improvement is required. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Trainer Charlie Appleby has taken the last two renewals of this contest, which suggests Legend Of Time can go well, although both his previous winners had racecourse experience and the son of Sea The Stars is making his debut. Wafei is another newcomer to consider, but L'ENNEMI brings form to the table which may give him the edge. Second to Magsood when staying on strongly at Beverley latest, the step up to a mile could see him get off the mark.
Usually an informative 1m 2-y-o novice, with L'ENNEMI taken to put his experience to use and open his account. He took a step forward when second at Beverley and seems sure to do better. Cases can be made for all of the newcomers on paper and the betting will be interesting, Legend of Time and Gulf Legend a couple to note in particular.
300,000euros yearling GULF LEGEND has an illustrious pedigree and earns the vote ahead of Godolphin debutant Legend Of Time.

2.25/1(+18%) | (2) Chic Colombine 2.25/1, 2/5, won 7-runner maiden at Newcastle (7.1f) 70 days ago, driven out. Could kick on now handicapping. AW maiden winner; William Buick booked for nursery debut and she's one to consider. |

2nd (1) (6/1 +29%) Commander Crouch |
6/1(+29%) | (1) Commander Crouch 6/1, Fair maiden. Good fifth of 15 in sales race (100/1) at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) 12 days ago, nearest finish. Has a race in him on that showing. Fifth of 15 in Newmarket sales race last time and the step back up to 7f could be a plus. |

3rd (7) (33/1 +0%) John Steed |
33/1(+0%) | (7) John Steed 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/1, seventh of 10 in nursery at Kempton (6f) 29 days ago. Must improve. Runner-up at Bath on debut in May but hasn't gone on from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (16/1 -14%) Daring Legend |
16/1(-14%) | (4) Daring Legend 16/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 10 in maiden (14/1) at Ffos Las (7.4f, heavy) 30 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Stamina to prove. Best run came on sole AW start, but a possible improver on nursery debut; has been gelded. |

5th (8) (4/1 -60%) The Bitter Moose |
4/1(-60%) | (8) The Bitter Moose 4/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Very good third of 7 in nursery (8/1) at Epsom (7f, good to firm) 20 days ago. Second won next time and he's one to consider. Third at Epsom despite not looking at home on the camber; could have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (3.5/1 +22%) Dan Dee Prince |
3.5/1(+22%) | (5) Dan Dee Prince 3.5/1, Winner at Leicester in August from Doubletalk. 9/2, creditable second of 8 in nursery at Newcastle (7.1f) 7 days ago, well positioned. Big player again down in grade nudged up 2 lb. A win and a good second in nurseries the last twice; on the upgrade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (5/1 -11%) Doubletalk |
5/1(-11%) | (6) Doubletalk 5/1, Winner at Beverley in August. 6/1, good 2¼ lengths second of 10 to Dan Dee Prince in nursery at Leicester (7f, good to firm) 15 days ago, well positioned. Can make presence felt again. Made all at Beverley then 2nd at Leicester; needs another step forward but it's possible. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
In a tricky contest it may be best to side with William Buick here as he takes the ride on Newcastle winner CHIC COLOMBINE, who travelled well throughout to land the odds over this trip. A mark of 74 for her nursery debut seems fair enough and she may follow up. The Bitter Moose was unlucky when third at Epsom and looks a danger to all if he can repeat that level, leaving Doubletalk and Dan Dee Prince as the pick of the remainder.
THE BITTER MOOSE ran well behind a subsequent winner at Epsom 3 weeks ago, proving his stamina for 7f in the process, and could be the way to go off the same mark. Leicester 1-2 Dan Dee Prince and Doubletalk are firmly in the mix, while Commander Crouch excelled himself in a big-field Newmarket sales contest recently and is up to winning a race.
The Epsom camber didn't appear to suit THE BITTER MOOSE on his nursery debut but he still finished third and gets the nod.

1st (2) (4/1 -45%) Sapphire Seas |
4/1(-45%) | (2) Sapphire Seas 4/1, Narrow winner of 10-runner novice at Wolverhampton (9.5f) on second start in January before following up in more impressive fashion at Kempton in April. Has a 5-month absence to overcome but is a likely improver now handicapping. Two AW novice wins earlier this year and has potential off her opening mark. |

2nd (1) (9/1 -50%) Veil Of Shadows |
9/1(-50%) | (1) Veil Of Shadows 9/1, Debut winner at Kempton in February. Resumed progress when second of 7 on handicap debut at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 9/2) 21 days ago. Remains unexposed and can't be ruled out. Went close on handicap debut despite things not panning out favourably; respected. |

3rd (5) (11/1 +67%) Ermesinde |
11/1(+67%) | (5) Ermesinde 11/1, Made a winning debut at Lingfield in February and placed next 2 starts. Looked in the grip of the assessor when only sixth of 8 on handicap debut at Ascot (12f, good to soft) 55 days ago and others possess greater scope for progress. Too soon to write her off but others have more compelling credentials. |

4th (4) (1.38/1 +8%) Royal Mila |
1.38/1(+8%) | (4) Royal Mila 1.38/1, Well-bred filly responded really well for pressure when winning 10-runner novice at Goodwood on debut and didn't need to improve to double up in similar company at Windsor (10f, good to firm, 1/4) 80 days ago. Open to plenty of progress now handicapping. 2-2 and remains to be seen where limitations lie; firmly in calculations on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (3/1 +33%) Zarga |
3/1(+33%) | (6) Zarga 3/1, Steadily progressive this year, taking another step forward to get off the mark in an 8-runner event at Windsor (10f, good, 3/1) in July. Failed to meet expectations when only fourth at Sandown (9f, good) 18 days ago, her response to pressure underwhelming, but still shouldn't be ruled out. Won at Windsor then fourth at Sandown; needs more today but may yet progress further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (22/1 -10%) Mappatassie |
22/1(-10%) | (3) Mappatassie 22/1, Looked quite useful in 2 outings in France last year and might have needed the outing when well held on her Newbury reappearance in July. Unexposed now handicapping but this demands improvement. Very lightly raced French winner, but well beaten on stable debut in July. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Charlie Appleby launches a two-pronged assault with Veil Of Shadows and SAPPHIRE SEAS, and the latter is preferred. The daughter of Frankel thumped a subsequent Listed winner and Group-placed rival in a Kempton novice 155 days ago, so an opening mark of 94 doesn't look beyond a filly who has the potential to become Pattern class. The unbeaten Royal Mila, who struck at Windsor last time, looks a big danger to the selection, while Zarga should not be underestimated either.
A potentially deep contest despite the small field, with the unbeaten ROYAL MILA fancied to confirm the abundant promise of her 2 novice successes now switching to handicaps. Sapphire Seas also looked a fine prospect when winning twice on all-weather earlier in the year and, after an absence, heads into handicaps with plenty to be positive about, whilst her stablemate Veil of Shadows only went down to a similarly unexposed sort last time and should also find herself in the mix.
Preference is for Godolphin's SAPPHIRE SEAS who was impressive in a Kempton novice in April when last seen. Royal Mila is a danger.

Dangerous if allowed her own way out in front once again. Improved since upped to 1m4f/handicapping; made all off 4lb lower latest; leading claims. |

5th (2) (6/1 +29%) Ready To Shine |
6/1(+29%) | (2) Ready To Shine 6/1, Opened account at Thirsk in June. Not ideally placed when fourth of 11 in handicap (10/1) at Redcar (14f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Can give another good account back down in trip with cheekpieces on 1st time. Valid excuses with one thing and another since her Thirsk win; now tried in headgear. |

6th (4) (6.5/1 +46%) Leitzel |
6.5/1(+46%) | (4) Leitzel 6.5/1, Won here on first 2 starts but hasn't gone on as hoped in handicaps this year, ninth of 13 at Doncaster (10.2f, good to firm, 11/1) 19 days ago. Dropping in the weights but needs to find more upped in trip. Struggled in handicaps this summer; longer trip should be fine but has a good bit to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MOVIE STAR LOOKS showed a determined attitude when making all at Leicester last time and a 4lb hike in the ratings might not be enough to stop Clive Cox's charge from following up. Typical Woman wasn't disgraced at Southwell 10 days ago. She is reunited with William Buick, who won on her over C&D two starts ago, and that can only be viewed as a positive. Ready To Shine and Real Terms can chase the pair home.
REAL TERMS ran well when third at Ayr last time, despite needing the emphasis more on stamina, so she is taken to return to winning ways as she goes back up in trip. She can get the better of Typical Woman, whose both previous victories have come with William Buick in the saddle, while Movie Star Looks would be dangerous if able to get an easy lead.
The lightly raced MOVIE STAR LOOKS (nap) remains on a workable mark following her recent small-field win and can follow up.
Ths is the racecard key.
