1st (3) ![]() Yealand |
11/8(+0%) | (3) Yealand 11/8, Twice a winner over hurdles last season (including at this meeting) and showed benefit of his comeback run when making a successful chase debut at Doncaster (20.5f) in December. Showed a good attitude when resuming winning ways at Newcastle 5 weeks ago and big chance of following up here. Has form figures of 1231 over fences; scored over hurdles on this card last year; solid. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A progressive sort this season, YEALAND got back to winning ways with a determined performance at Newcastle last month and a 3lb rise for that success may not be enough to prevent him from following up. Galunggung won over shorter at Carlisle last time out and he may improve for going back up in trip, while Hermino AA is of interest returned to chasing for his in-form connections.
YEALAND and Galunggung are both progressive but the former looks the better handicapped of the pair so gets the vote to win at this meeting for the second season running.
Solid YEALAND is taken to win on this card for the second year in a row. Galunggung is second choice.

![]() Our Rosie |
(5) 200/1(-100%) | (5) Our Rosie 200/1, Offered little in bumpers and fared no better when pulled up both starts over hurdles last month. Looks firmly up against it again. Didn't show much in bumpers and pulled up on both hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) ![]() High Dancer |
9/4(+50%) | (2) High Dancer 9/4, Point winner ran to a fair level when third at Kelso on his hurdles debut. Failed to progress when fourth at Wetherby (2m, heavy) in December but latest effort at Musselburgh 45 days ago best excused having been brought down at the fifth. Not ruled out. Point winner; promising third on hurdle debut; lesser run followed but he's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Cahier's Den |
3/1(-9%) | (1) Cahier's Den 3/1, Won second of 2 outings in Irish points in May and showed something like his hurdles debut form following a couple of lesser efforts when second in 10-runner Newcastle maiden (16.9f) 25 days ago. Had run of the race then but good chance here, nevertheless. Point winner who has finished second on 2 of his 4 hurdle starts; could have part to play. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Pike Road |
6/5(-80%) | (3) Pike Road 6/5, Yeats gelding who has run to a fair level switched to hurdles, runner-up first 2 starts and in process of running well when falling 3 out in a Ludlow maiden (23.8f) 4 weeks ago. Looks the one to beat dropping down further in trip. Two-time maiden hurdle runner-up who holds leading form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Shorten Sassy |
12/1(+64%) | (6) Shorten Sassy 12/1, Telescope filly who unseated early on debut at Ludlow and took time to warm to her task when an ultimately well-beaten eighth in a Huntingdon mares' maiden (20.6f) 4 weeks ago. Probable type for staying handicaps moving forward. Not devoid of promise at Huntingdon on second start but others have stronger claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Seeyainthesuninn |
80/1(-60%) | (4) Seeyainthesuninn 80/1, Half-brother to numerous winners, including bumper winner/useful hurdler Zulu Oscar, but never figured in bumpers and fared no better in a first-time hood when well-beaten sixth of 7 in Kelso novice hurdle 33 days ago. Can only be watched. Down the field in his three bumpers and tailed off at 200-1 on last month's hurdle debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
PIKE ROAD looked to be in control from the front when falling three out at Ludlow last month and Martin Keighley's charge can gain compensation on the drop in distance. His form sets the standard and he should have too much for Cahier's Den, who bounced back to form with a promising runner-up effort over 2m1f at Newcastle most recently. Brought down on his latest start at Musselburgh, High Dancer cannot be ruled out either.
PIKE ROAD sets the standard and, having looked set to run creditably prior to falling at Ludlow latest, he's the one to beat dropping down in trip. Cahier's Den and High Dancer can give Martin Keighley's 6-y-o most to think about.
This could be a good opportunity for PIKE ROAD to get off the mark. High Dancer may be the chief threat ahead of Cahier's Den.

1st (1) ![]() Jarrive De Mee |
1/2(+19%) | (1) Jarrive De Mee 1/2, Authorized gelding who saw off a next-time-out winner to make a successful hurdles debut at Thurles in November and made it 2-2 despite being made to work hard at Catterick (19.3f) in January. Still, he remains open to improvement for top Irish yard and shortlisted back down in trip. Made it 2-2 over hurdles in January; could have lots more to offer for top Irish yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Starcrossed Lover |
13/8(-48%) | (2) Starcrossed Lover 13/8, Confirmed the promise he'd shown in Ireland for Colm Murphy when easily winning first 2 starts in maiden/novice hurdles this winter. Seemingly not himself when distant sixth in Grade 2 company latest and should bounce back in these calmer waters. Two impressive wins before Grade 2 flop at Kempton; leading contender back down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Dante's Inferno |
150/1(+25%) | (4) Dante's Inferno 150/1, Ran to a fair level first 2 starts in bumpers. However, well held on final outing last season and showed nothing in trio of hurdle outings for present stable. Very hard to make a case for. Tailed off/pulled up this season on first three hurdle starts; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Love Is A Rose |
125/1(+17%) | (5) Love Is A Rose 125/1, Flat-bred mare who has been struggling to make any meaningful impact in that sphere in recent months. Hard to envisage her getting involved now hurdling. Very modest maiden on the Flat and a win on today's hurdle debut would be a huge shock. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A comfortable winner of his two career outings, including last time out when sent over to Catterick, JARRIVE DE MEE sets the standard for the all-conquering Willie Mullins stable and he can land the hat-trick on the drop in trip. Starcrossed Lover was never involved when upped in grade at Kempton last time out, but he should be much more at home at this level, while Break Point is likely to improve for his jumps debut at Warwick recently.
STARCROSSED LOVER marked himself down as a useful novice in the making before a below-par display in Grade 2 company at Kempton 25 days ago. He's well worth another chance to get back on the up and is narrowly selected to come out on top ahead of Irish raider Jarrive de Mee, who understandably commands plenty of respect from the all-conquering Mullins' yard.
The Willie Mullins-trained Jarrive De Mee holds strong claims but STARCROSSED LOVER is taken to bounce back with a win.

1st (2) ![]() Could Be Trouble |
11/2(+69%) | (2) Could Be Trouble 11/2, Patchy record but won mares' handicap at Hexham (20.1f) in October and a good third at Musselburgh (19.8f, good to soft) in November. Probably needed the run after 13 weeks off at Wetherby 3 weeks ago, though others still more persuasive. Visor on 1st time. Six-time winner over hurdles but very inconsistent in recent years; headgear switched here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Wrappedinrubies |
9/4(+55%) | (6) Wrappedinrubies 9/4, Placed once from 3 starts over hurdles last season and took a step forward when winning mares' handicap at Catterick (19.3f, good) on return. Below-par effort at Bangor (19.6f, heavy) last time, but she could bounce back upped in trip with cheekpieces added. Shade disappointing last time but won on handicap debut two runs ago; still unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Kazontherazz |
4/1(+50%) | (4) Kazontherazz 4/1, Stepped up on recent run when third at Ludlow (21.2f) in December. However, not in the same form both starts since, fifth past the post at Warwick (26f, heavy) 26 days ago (subsequently disqualified after rider weighed in light). Cheekpieces now reached for. Placed in December but has mixed record this season and has not won since 2021. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Ezmerellda |
25/1(-39%) | (7) Ezmerellda 25/1, Modest maiden on Flat but made second start over hurdles a winning one at Doncaster (16.6f) in December 2023. However, form has gone the wrong way this season, last of 7 at Wolverhampton (14f) back on the level last month. First run for yard after leaving Alan King. Hurdle winner for Alan King last term; recently sold for 1,400gns after very poor Flat run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) ![]() Eileen's Orders |
9/2(+44%) | (5) Eileen's Orders 9/2, Mid-division in 2 bumpers, before showing promise when placed both starts in mares' novice hurdles. Has run to a similar level in handicaps the last twice, fourth of 8 at Doncaster (20.8f, good) 17 days ago, and she could be in the mix. In the frame all four hurdling starts, the last two in handicaps; bit more needed today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having displayed a willing attitude to open her account under Rules at Lingfield last month, there should be more to come from PRESENTING DOY. Emma Lavelle's mare enters handicaps off what looks a workable mark and she's fancied to follow up. Wrappedinrubies is the main danger given she'll like the ground and now sports first-time cheekpieces. Kazontherazz is next best.
PRESENTING DOY has made a promising start over hurdles, opening her account at the second attempt at Lingfield last month, and she can follow up with more still to offer as goes she handicapping. Wrappedinrubies could be the danger.
She only scraped home when 2-5 at Lingfield but PRESENTING DOY had made a very promising rules debut three weeks earlier.

![]() Wal Buck's |
(5) 2/1(-6%) | (5) Wal Buck's 2/1, Encouraging signs over hurdles and is improving over fences, cosily accounting for 5 rivals in a 25.6f Haydock handicap. Made novicey mistakes when third off revised mark at Uttoxeter since and remains with potential. Lightly raced 6yo could have untapped potential now tackling a marathon trip; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) ![]() Regarde |
5/2(+67%) | (3) Regarde 5/2, Improved switched to chasing last season, winning at Huntingdon on first 2 starts. Resumed winning ways at Kempton on return before good third at Ascot. Never appeared to be going with much enthusiasm at Exeter in December but might have had a problem given subsequent absence (has had wind op). The step up in trip could be a positive move if he's back on song; wind op since last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Duke Of Deception |
5/4(+55%) | (4) Duke Of Deception 5/4, Mixed record this season but arrives on the back of a good second at Warwick 10 days ago, clear of the rest, so big shout off the same mark with a repeat. Good second off this mark at Warwick ten days ago; in the mix if backing up that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Rockinastorm |
11/4(+39%) | (2) Rockinastorm 11/4, Having a very good season, scoring at Ludlow and Wetherby before an excellent second at Ascot. This sort of trip seemed to stretch him at Bangor since but that was on heavy ground. Worth another chance to prove his stamina on better ground here. Weakened over 3m5f but worth another go at a marathon trip now back on better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Amateur |
8/1(+27%) | (1) Amateur 8/1, Has an all-or-nothing profile and pulled up next 4 starts after making a winning return at Ffos Las and offered limited encouragement when fifth at Newbury latest. 12yo who has very patchy record nowadays, but there were encouraging signs last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Duke Of Deception returned to form with a solid second at Warwick 10 days ago and he must enter the reckoning off an unchanged mark. However, those recent exertions could leave the eight-year-old vulnerable and WAL BUCK'S rates as the most solid proposition. The Buck's Boum gelding's jumping wasn't the most fluent when finishing third at Uttoxeter in January, but he makes grand appeal returning to the scene of his last triumph. The downgraded Amateur is also noted.
The vote goes to progressive novice WAL BUCK'S, who still has room for improvement. Duke of Deception is the obvious threat having been a good second off this mark at Warwick 10 days ago.
The lightly raced 6yo course winner WAL BUCK'S has shaped as though he could be suited by this sort of test and he earns the vote.

1st (3) ![]() Typhoon Flyer |
13/8(+64%) | (3) Typhoon Flyer 13/8, Made all at Market Rasen in November and has shown similar form in finishing third on both handicaps starts since, latterly at Sandown (19.8f). Should go well again. Respectable third in first two handicaps; those were warm races; can make a bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Diamond Koda |
2/1(+50%) | (6) Diamond Koda 2/1, Fairly useful form when runner-up all 3 starts in bumpers and yet to finish outside placings on all completed starts over hurdles, albeit no match for the winner at Doncaster (19.4f, good) on most recent outing. Jumping remains a concern but should be in the thick of the action once again. 0-10 but placed this season in his first four handicaps; good chance he'll be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Land Of Moon |
6/1(+57%) | (4) Land Of Moon 6/1, Aided by an uncontested lead when landing a Southwell maiden in ready fashion in December. Unsuited by how the race developed when only seventh of 10 on handicap debut at Doncaster subsequently, so shouldn't be judged too harshly on that. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Southwell maiden winner but only seventh of ten on subsequent handicap debut at Doncaster. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Kourosh |
9/2(-29%) | (7) Kourosh 9/2, Fair winner on Flat in German who bolted up on his Wetherby hurdle debut when trained by the Dan Skelton. Has dropped in the weights for current yard and confirmed return to form when second in 12-runner handicap at Warwick (2m) last month. Should remain competitive if keeping mistakes to a minimum. Went close at Warwick latest and shaped as though today's step up in trip could be a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Herbiers |
14/1(+0%) | (1) Herbiers 14/1, One-time useful handicap hurdler/chaser but has shown little this season following a 19-month absence, including back over hurdles in a first-time visor at Wetherby latest. Lots to prove. On a reduced mark but he's struggled this season following a long absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DIAMOND KODA encountered a progressive rival when he finished second over this trip at Doncaster last month. The winner of that race has gone in again since and, running off 1lb lower, Nick Kent's six-year-old looks too well treated treated to ignore, especially with Tom Broughton claiming a further 5lb from the saddle. Kourosh has something to prove stepping up in trip, so perhaps the reliable Typhoon Flyer could be a bigger danger on just his third start in a handicap.
HECOULDBETHEONE didn't see his race out at Taunton when last seen in November, but had run well behind an unexposed youngster on his previous start, so is well worth another chance back from a break in a first-time visor. Kourosh and the reliable Diamond Koda head up the opposition.
Having finished in good races on his first two handicap starts, TYPHOON FLYER is the selection ahead of Kourosh.

![]() Zacony Rebel |
(4) 25/1(+0%) | (4) Zacony Rebel 25/1, Dual hurdles/chase winner who was largely disappointing during a light 2023/24 campaign for Toby Lawes and hasn't really got back on track for present stable this term. His mark continues to fall but tailed off last time and has something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Imperial Merlin |
13/2(-63%) | (1) Imperial Merlin 13/2, Fairly useful hurdler who landed 3 of his 5 starts as a novice in 2022/23 campaign. Lightly raced and mixed bag since but given a break/had wind surgery following a lesser chase display at Doncaster in December and better showing anticipated (has gone well fresh). Didn't jump well over fences last time; could bounce back with bold show now back hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Tiger Jet |
9/2(+31%) | (3) Tiger Jet 9/2, C&D winner who was right back to best after 6 months off when making a winning stable debut at Cartmel (22f, heavy) in August. Not in anything like the same form either outing since, latterly when well-beaten sixth in 8-runner handicap here 79 days ago. Still, not discounted. Won on stable debut last August but 2 lesser runs have followed; has to get back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Minella Rescue |
15/8(-25%) | (2) Minella Rescue 15/8, Dual bumper winner who made it third time lucky over hurdles in 2¾m Stratford novice in May. Not discredited when fourth at Bangor next time and his latest second in 3-runner Doncaster novice (24.4f) 17 days ago was his best effort yet. Worth a look on handicap bow. Close second at Doncaster recently and he holds solid claims on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Lune De La Mer |
13/8(+41%) | (5) Lune De La Mer 13/8, Bumper/maiden hurdle winner in spring 2023 who bettered opening pair of exploits in handicaps back from a lengthy absence when third in 8-runner event at Doncaster (19.4f) 4 weeks ago. Remains lightly raced for an 8-y-o but he did look a little awkward. Cheekpieces retained. Has gradually worked his way back into form and this step up in trip may suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MINELLA RESCUE returned from a break with a good second over this trip at Doncaster 17 days ago and should be cherry ripe with his bid to go one place better running off a workable mark on his handicap debut. Tiger Jet is weighted to go well and rates the chief danger to the selection, although Imperial Merlin stays well and is one to keep a close eye on back over hurdles on his first start back after wind surgery.
MINELLA RESCUE remains low-mileage and arrives on the back of just about his best effort yet when second in a 3-runner Doncaster novice 17 days ago. He could have more to offer now handicapping over staying trips and gets the narrow vote. Imperial Merlin, back from a break/wind surgery is another worth a second look, with Lune de La Mer completing the shortlist.
Handicap newcomer MINELLA RESCUE (nap) has shown some promising form in good-ground novice hurdles and gets the nod.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
