The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Rapparee Champ (third) narrowly got the better of JANE EIRE (fourth) when the pair met over 2m4f at Down Royal in August. However, the latter was short of room at a crucial stage on that occasion and, with the experience now under her belt, she gets the vote to reverse that form en route to victory on just her second career start. Mr Percy posted a smart performance when winning over 1m6f on the Flat here last month, and he merits respect on his hurdling bow.
MR PERCY won a Flat maiden here last month in the style of a useful performer and can make a successful switch to hurdles under Daryl Jacob. Tonaghneave Well has taken well to hurdling with a couple of placed efforts at Kilbeggan and is second choice ahead of Rapparee Champ and Jane Eire.
A chance is taken that MR PERCY can stamp his flat class on this race after winning easily here on the level last month.

Pulled up on both starts in points last winter, unlikely to feature on hurdling debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
HASHTAG PRETENDER has placed on six of his seven starts since joining Barry Connell and the consistent gelding is overdue a change of fortune. With the trip and ground both ideal, this presents the selection with a perfect opportunity to break his maiden over timber. Garnacho is another with the ability to figure in this company, while The Mediator found only an intriguing Wilie Mullins-trained hurdles newcomer too good at Listowel last week and completes the shortlist.
HASHTAG PRETENDER holds the edge on form so is fancied to gain his breakthrough victory on the back of a good Killarney second. Gordon Elliott's fairly useful The Mediator is next on the list, with Locked Box and Fad Eadrainn also in the picture.
No match for a smart recruit at Listowel THE MEDIATOR may now have the resources to open his hurdles account at the tenth attempt

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
CAILIN AIBREAN has shown more promise of late and, with first-time cheekpieces added, she has the potential to find enough improvement to take command of a race of this nature. Grizabella, the winner of a similar event at Wexford in June, appeals as the chief danger from just 5lb higher. Sandyman also holds scope to improve on just his seventh start over hurdles and is a must for consideration on that basis. Ballycommon Chapel and Hollow Spark complete the shortlist.
Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and GRIZABELLA is fancied to resume winning ways on the back of her good Kilbeggan sixth with Jordan Gainfod now in the saddle. Sandyman is also weighted to have a say and rates next best ahead of Redcliff Glen and Morepowertoya.
Preference is for CAILIN AIBREAN who has shaped nicely on her last two starts and the first-time cheekpieces could make the difference.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A tentative vote goes to MAYOS VENDANGEUR, who was unlucky at Kilbeggan when slightly hampered after the last on her most recent outing. The current form of her stable is a big plus, and the five-year-old gets the vote ahead of Init Together, who has run with plenty of credit on each of his last two starts over further at Downpatrick. A winner over fences at Thurles in March, Lilian Bland looks as though she may be suited by dropping back in trip, while Vairue has strong claims on the form of his success at the same track two starts ago.
LILIAN BLAND is 0-11 over hurdles but she is of interest back in this sphere on the strength of her form over fences earlier this year, particularly her Thurles success off a 3 lb higher mark in March. Init Together has to be feared on the back of solid placed efforts at Downpatrick the last twice, while Mr Macphisto is entitled to come on for his recent reappearance spin and he is also shortlisted.
INIT TOGETHER is one of the few that comes into this in any sort of form and this could be his day with the drop back in trip a plus.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Lot of Joy has been busy on the Flat this summer without success for Willie Mullins and has a single win from six starts over hurdles. Gordon Elliott's Calico may have her measure, assuming she is at her best on her first start since a Punchestown fifth in May. Both can go well, but ROYAL HOLLOW has easily won her last two starts over hurdles and may surprise them both for trainer Andrew Slattery.
Quite a useful mares' event. LOT OF JOY arrives fit from the Flat and can deny Andrew Slattery's improving 6-y-o Royal Hollow a hat-trick.
Preference is for ROYAL HOLLOW, frustrating in bumpers but has turned it around over hurdles and can complete the hat-trick

22/1(-175%) | (4) Toor Khov 22/1, Career best when winning 15-runner novice hurdle at Tipperary (24f, good to soft, 7/1) 142 days ago, always holding on. Decent third in a Listed handicap chase at Killarney in August; 13lb lower over hurdles. |

13th (12) (16/1 -60%) Jolie Jewel |

17/2(-21%) | (13) Spinning Web 17/2, Promising sort. Creditable fifth of 17 in handicap hurdle (11/4) at Tipperary (20.4f, good to soft) 92 days ago. Unexposed as a hurdler and he's one for the shortlist. Reverted back to flights when a good fifth in a Tipperary handicap in July; respected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A winner of his maiden hurdle at Tipperary in May, TOOR KHOV could be well handicapped off 116. The runner-up, who has won twice subsequently and is now rated 126, gives the form a particularly strong look. Although dropping back half-a-mile is an obvious concern, the Margaret Flynn-trained gelding is of obvious interest. Twice successful over fences, The Big Chap reverts to hurdling off a 13lb lower mark. Having finished third in a Listed handicap chase at Killarney recently, the Paul Flynn-trained seven-year-old will find this easier. Walk Away Harry has to be considered if the ground remains on the quick side. Wearing a first-time visor, the Charles Byrnes-trained gelding is undoubtedly well handicapped over hurdles.
This looks very competitive indeed. The vote goes to the 4-y-o SPINNING WEB, who shaped well on his first start over hurdles for the best part of a year at Tipperary where he would've gone close but for a bad mistake at the second-last. Toor Khov landed a maiden at that course on his latest start in May and, similarly unexposed in this sphere, he is second choice ahead of Park of Kings and recent chase winner Tullyveery Lad. Missus Beeton completes the shortlist.
It might just pay to side with PARK OF KINGS, a dual winner last year coming here after a decent run at Galway in July

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Galway runner-up IN FOR THE NIGHT can go one place better. The six-year-old, who had finished third on his previous start at Ballinrobe in August, looks to be running into form. Stepping back up to this trip for the first time since his third outing in maiden company should also suit. A winner over fences at Wexford on his penultimate start, Duty Bound is 7lb lower over hurdles. Having run a solid race on the Flat at Listowel recently, the Kingman gelding should have every chance. Happy Dreams is a definite contender if fit enough on his first start since March. The Michael McDonagh-trained seven-year-old, who is a four-time winner over fences, is nicely treated off an 18lb lower mark over flights.
IN FOR THE NIGHT ran a cracker at Galway last time and the longer trip is unlikely to be an issue, so he's fancied to go one better. Ah Remy Martin is another big player and Duty Bound makes some appeal returning to hurdling from a potentially lenient mark.
Preference is for IN FOR THE NIGHT(nap), possibly unlucky in defeat at Galway last month and should take the beating if he stays

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A dual bumper winner, who finished second in a Grade 3 at Punchestown, MOZZIES SISTER sets a high standard. The Declan Queally-trained five-year-old has plenty of experience, having won her only point-to-point start prior to racing under Rules. In a race full of unexposed types with plenty of potential, the Arctic Cosmos mare will be hard to beat. The well-bred Cameletta Vega couldn't have done it any easier when making a winning racecourse debut at Galway in August. Trainer Willie Mullins has an embarrassment of riches in this division, so the fact Patrick Mullins takes the ride is significant. Stablemate Keep Up was expected to improve from the run when winning at Roscommon first time up. That form received a huge boost when the runner-up beat a subsequent winner on his next start.
CAMALETTA VEGA has a most compelling pedigree and wasn't hard pressed to make a winning start at Galway a couple of months ago, so she's fancied to maintain that unbeaten record for all that Mozzies Sister has actually achieved more than her in form terms. Keep Up, a stablemate of the selection, is also considered.
A confident selection goes to MOZZIES SISTER, whose form in the spring sets a very good standard here and should come on for Down Royal
Ths is the racecard key.
