Dermot Weld saddled a double at Leopardstown on Sunday and could have the answer here with WILD SAPPHIRE. The son of No Nay Never kept good company on both outings in 7f maidens last autumn and finished strongly when a close third to Expanded at the Curragh. Broadstone showed promise on his only start in a Curragh maiden that has worked out quite well, while Gran Habano has plenty of experience and was placed a couple of times at Dundalk over the winter. Any market moves for newcomers Standard Deviation (by Invincible Spirit) or The Liffey Swim, who cost 110,000 pounds at a Breeze Up sale last spring, would be significant.

Well bred WILD SAPPHIRE ran a big race on debut in what looked an above average maiden and soft ground may have been against him since

NIBRAS RAINBOW won over a mile at Killarney last summer for Paul Flynn and has shaped well on a number of occasions since, including when placed in a 25-runner Curragh handicap. Colin Keane is a significant booking. Naisiun won on her reappearance over 7f at Naas last season and while far from consistent since, could go close off a similar rating, while Royal Pippen has dropped to what appears a competitive mark and is another to consider. Higher Kingdom won four times at Dundalk for John McConnell and it's probably best to put a line through his latest run after getting upset in the stalls.

This doesn't have much depth and NAISIUN could be the one having won on last season's return and she's less exposed than most

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

WIN ME OVER was prominent throughout on debut at the Curragh on the opening day of the turf season when taking fourth spot behind Bint Queen Kindly in a 20-runner 7f maiden. The sister to top-class miler Palace Pier should progress from that run and appreciate both the longer trip and sounder surface. Nuit was placed on both starts last autumn including behind Galveston at Naas, while Deressa showed her best form on testing ground over C&D last October when a creditable fourth to Pretty Lavish. Bonnie Moon is bred to stay further.

With improvement on the cards from last month's introduction at the Curragh WIN ME OVER is tipped to open her account.

EASTWATCH shaped well on debut over a similar trip at Tipperary last autumn and may have found a good opportunity to open his account. The Andy Slattery-trained gelding was third to Emit and the runner-up, Serious Contender, has boosted the form scoring on both outings since, including a Leopardstown handicap off a mark of 85 last weekend. Crooked Path was far from disgraced on debut behind Dupont Law on the opening day of the season at the Curragh and should appreciate this longer distance, while others to consider include newcomer Paul Henry (by Camelot) and Methgal.

Newcomer Paul Henry may not cope with EASTWATCH (nap), whose debut third at Tipperary has been shown in a good light by the 2nd

SPRING DANCE cost 350,000 euro at Arqana in December and while it's concerning that she only makes her debut at four, the Dubawi filly makes plenty of appeal on pedigree being out of a Listed winning daughter of Shamardal and from a very smart Australian family. It will be interesting to see how strong she is in the market. Royal Hollow and Extrapolation are both decent sorts over jumps, while Victoria Kesia was placed a number of times last year but seems well suited by soft ground. Fianna indicated ability in two starts last year, although it may be significant that Billy Lee elects to ride Moss Tucker's half-brother Diesel Deans.

The tentative vote goes to VICTORIA KESIA who finished 2nd in 3 of her last 4 starts last term and sets a solid standard

THATWILLDOSO had three starts in maidens early last season and ran a cracker on the latest of two handicap outings in the autumn, when beating all bar Nans View in a 20-runner 1m2f Curragh event. The winner is now rated considerably higher having followed up at Galway and Jack Kearney claims a valuable 5lb. Magic Charm has won twice over a mile and showed promise on a number of occasions last season, including over 1m1f at Tipperary, while Dazzling Spirit has dropped to a lowly mark and has now joined Cian Collins. The lightly-raced Venting and Tatum are others to consider.

This could be a good opportunity for THATWILLDOSO who was coming to the boil at the end of last term and his latest 2nd is working out

A hot conditions race with all bar one of the nine runners holding a rating of 95 or higher. ROMZINA has a bit to find on figures but should have scope for further improvement having won a Cork maiden on debut and been placed on both subsequent starts at Listed level. She could be suited by this trip having kept on well into third behind Caught U Looking over 1m4f at Naas. Salt Bay has struggled to justify his rating since being narrowly denied over this trip at York last June, while War Rooms, third in the Group 2 Dante Stakes at York last year, is a nice addition to Gerry Keane's yard. Persian Bliss has progressed well and won three times over the winter at Dundalk.

Dermot Weld had a fine double at Leopardstown on Sunday and can keep up the good work with lightly raced filly ROMZINA

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
