Malbay Madness |
(6) (3.5/1 +36%)3.5/1(+36%) | (6) Malbay Madness 3.5/1, 5/1, respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at Down Royal (12.8f, good) 39 days ago. Significantly back down in trip. Back markedly in trip here and ground concerns, especially if getting more rain. |

Genuine Article |
(1) (4.5/1 -50%)4.5/1(-50%) | (1) Genuine Article 4.5/1, Twice-raced winner. Won 8-runner maiden at Killarney (8.2f, good, 11/10) 14 days ago, well on top finish. Stable in good form. Makes handicap debut. Open to progress for yard which always targets this meeting. Killarney maiden winner's mark on the high side but rider's claim brings him into it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sea Gardens |
(5) (7/1 -75%)7/1(-75%) | (5) Sea Gardens 7/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 13/8, third of 5 in maiden at Listowel (8f, good) 59 days ago. Stable in good form. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Should improve. Bit underwhelming so far this term; gelded and now fitted with cheekpieces on handicap bow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Semblance Of Order |
(3) (7.5/1 +17%)7.5/1(+17%) | (3) Semblance Of Order 7.5/1, Unreliable type. Latest win at Leopardstown in June. Refused to race in handicap (5/1) at Naas (7f, soft) 7 days ago. Back up in trip. Others more persuasive. Refused to race on latest, solid claims on earlier form if you can forgive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Duke Of Leggagh |
(4) (11/1 +45%)11/1(+45%) | (4) Duke Of Leggagh 11/1, Course winner. Latest win at Navan in March. 80/1, last of 7 in minor event at Leopardstown (12.8f, good to soft) 6 days ago. Significantly down in trip. Trip too far on last week's return; trip/ground in his favour here so don't rule out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Claiming 7lb off GENUINE ARTICLE leaves him nicely treated here and there looks potential for further improvement from the Muhaarar gelding on just his third career outing. He was a big eye catcher on soft ground on his debut at Killarney last October and was value for a bit more than his winning margin on his return a fortnight ago at the same track. Jockey Conor Stone-Walsh has impressed this year and is good value for his allowance. Emmet Mullins also takes 7lb off the back of Malbay Madness and he could be a danger. The Wings Of Eagles gelding makes his third outing for the yard and drops in trip having faded late on in the Ulster Derby last time. Sea Gardens is fitted with cheekpieces now having been beaten favourite on his return in a Listowel maiden in early June. He is another to consider on his handicap debut.
There should be more to come from recent Killarney maiden winner GENUINE ARTICLE and he can give the weight away on handicap debut. Sea Gardens is another who appeals as a likely improver now handicapping and he's second choice ahead of Lan Cinnte.
Preference is for LAN CINNTE whose form looks strong and is proven on soft ground

Up And Under |
(17) (0.44/1 +40%)0.44/1(+40%) | (17) Up And Under 0.44/1, Useful 3-y-o colt. 28/1, respectable 10¾ lengths fifth of 9 to Auguste Rodin in Irish Derby at the Curragh (12f, good to firm) 31 days ago, not ideally placed. Serious claims returned to calmer waters. Sticks out a mile here on the basis of two Group 3 seconds and fifth in Irish Derby. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Winter Fog |
(11) (5/1 -11%)5/1(-11%) | (11) Winter Fog 5/1, Smart jumps winner, making GB/IRE Flat debut. Won 6-runner minor event hurdle (1/2) at Cork (24f, good to soft) 19 days ago, asserting final 50 yds. Could well be up to making his mark on that evidence making Flat debut. 148-rated hurdler, trainer has won this in five of the last six years, belated Flat debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ninth Loch |
(3) (7/1 +50%)7/1(+50%) | (3) Ninth Loch 7/1, Footstepsinthesand gelding who built on bumper debut effort in April when winning 7-runner Kilbeggan bumper (2m) in June. In excellent hands and no surprise to see him make an impact on Flat debut. Flat-bred gelding had to work hard to land a Kilbeggan bumper, stable's number-two here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Last Mardi |
(7) (7.5/1 +25%)7.5/1(+25%) | (7) The Last Mardi 7.5/1, Fairly useful jumps winner. Promising sort. 4/5, won 15-runner novice hurdle at Killarney (20f, good) 13 days ago, comfortably. Open to improvement in this sphere. Dual bumper winner, also a winner over hurdles, finished third in this race 12 months ago. |

(8) (7.5/1 +46%)7.5/1(+46%) | (8) This Songisforyou 7.5/1, Winner on bumper debut at this meeting 12 months ago prior to good second at Ballinrobe in September. Well held in Grade 2 final start but showed ability when fifth in a Roscommon novice hurdle (15.5f) 23 days ago. Not out of things on Flat debut. Course bumper winner a year ago on debut, should be better for a recent run over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Banger Doyle |
(6) (9/1 +55%)9/1(+55%) | (6) The Banger Doyle 9/1, Fairly useful jumps winner. Once-raced gelding on Flat. Fifth of 16 in novice hurdle (11/10) at Roscommon (20f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 23 days ago. Makes Flat debut. Reserve 2. Second reserve, won a bumper at Kilbeggan in June, unplaced favourite over hurdles since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(10) (66/1 -100%)66/1(-100%) | (10) Weather Alert 66/1, Fair gelding. Remains a maiden after 7 Flat runs. 16/1, good second of 16 in handicap at the Curragh (16f, heavy). Off over 2 years. Down in trip. Relatively experienced but absent since second in a 2m handicap at the Curragh in May 2021. |

(14) (66/1 -65%)66/1(-65%) | (14) Young Lucy 66/1, Lauro filly. Improved on previous efforts when running out an easy winner of a Cork bumper (2m) in May, well served by switch to a positive ride. Makes Flat debut. Made all to win a bumper at Cork in May, dam from a family associated with Willie Mullins. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dubeyeracingcraic |
(13) (100/1 -150%)100/1(-150%) | (13) Dubeyeracingcraic 100/1, Twice-raced filly. 17/2, tenth of 14 in maiden at Bellewstown (12.1f, good to soft) 26 days ago, weakening over 2f out. Handicaps entitled to be more her bag for shrewd yard. Half-sister to Irish St Leger winner Sonnyboyliston, has made a low-key start to career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Killeemore Lad |
(2) (100/1 -150%)100/1(-150%) | (2) Killeemore Lad 100/1, Fairly useful jumps winner, making GB/IRE Flat debut. 5/1, fifth of 8 in novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (17f, good) 8 days ago. Winner of hurdle races at Kilbeggan and Hexham in recent months, no Flat experience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Palo Duro |
(15) (125/1 -89%)125/1(-89%) | (15) Palo Duro 125/1, Fascinating Rock gelding. Dam unraced. Market should guide as one of 3 runners from this yard. Gelded son of Fascinating Rock out of an unraced daughter of Galileo, tough task on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Tom The Plasterer |
(9) (150/1 -50%)150/1(-50%) | (9) Tom The Plasterer 150/1, Once-raced gelding on Flat. 125/1 and blinkered for 1st time, fifth of 12 in maiden at Bellewstown (12f, heavy) on flat debut. Off 118 days. Not disgraced when fifth in a Bellewstown maiden in April but this looks very demanding. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Rushour Rains |
(16) (200/1 -100%)200/1(-100%) | (16) Rushour Rains 200/1, Court Cave gelding. Half-brother to winner up to 1¾m Roar. Dam 1¼m-1½m winner. Likely best watched on debut unless betting indicates otherwise. Half-brother to versatile seven-time winner Roar, lack of experience a drawback. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
UP AND UNDER should prove hard to beat in this as he takes a drop in class back into maiden company. The Lope De Vega colt was last seen finishing fifth in the Irish Derby and had been runner-up in a couple of the leading classic trials prior to his run at the Curragh. He has a lofty enough mark of 106 and it would be disappointing if he couldn't collect now. Willie Mullins runs smart jumper Winter Fog and he could be the one to give the selection most to do. The Papal Bull gelding bounced back to winning ways in a conditions hurdle at Cork last month. The Banger Doyle ran well when second in a Killarney maiden just over two weeks ago and could be one for a place.
UP AND UNDER has placed form at Group level, including with plenty of give underfoot, and this represents a good opportunity for Joseph O'Brien's colt to open his account. Winter Fog, The Last Mardi and Ninth Loch are a trio of others to consider.
This is a perfect opportunity for UP AND UNDER, whose two Group 3 seconds put him in a different league to the bumper/hurdles winners

Immelmann |
(4) (2.5/1 +38%)2.5/1(+38%) | (4) Immelmann 2.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. First run since leaving Simon & Ed Crisford when respectable sixth of 16 in handicap at the Curragh (16f, good, 9/2) 32 days ago, not ideally placed. Enters calculations. Lightly raced for the Crisfords, lengthy layoff before stable debut, should be sharper now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Mr Escobar |
(3) (4/1 +11%)4/1(+11%) | (3) Mr Escobar 4/1, Lightly-raced winner. 5/4, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at the Curragh (12f, good to firm) 31 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Tongue strap on 1st time. Merits consideration. 1m4f Dundalk maiden winner, unplaced favourite in two handicap starts for this stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
En Or |
(1) (5/1 +23%)5/1(+23%) | (1) En Or 5/1, 1 win from 3 runs this year. Won 6-runner rated event (11/10) at Fairyhouse (14.2f, good) 21 days ago. Looks on a good mark and his stabler is no stranger to success in this race. Three wins in France, emphatic winner of a Fairyhouse rated race last month, respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Mon Coeur |
(2) (8/1 +43%)8/1(+43%) | (2) Mon Coeur 8/1, Thrice-raced maiden on Flat. Fairly useful winner at 17f in bumpers. 9/2, second of 17 in maiden at Leopardstown (15f, good) 41 days ago. Yard having good spell. Makes handicap debut. Bumper winner, second on all three starts in Flat maidens, fair chance on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Crassus |
(15) (10/1 +9%)10/1(+9%) | (15) Crassus 10/1, 12/1, third of 18 in minor event at the Curragh (12f, good) 33 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Yard in good form. Useful dual-purpose sort in 2021, good run after a long absence when third at the Curragh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hallowed Star |
(6) (10/1 +38%)10/1(+38%) | (6) Hallowed Star 10/1, Lightly-raced maiden on Flat. Useful winner at 23f over hurdles. Last of 12 in handicap hurdle at Cartmel (17.2f, good to soft, 12/1) 31 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Twice placed in Flat maidens, merits respect as three-time course winner over jumps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
No Thanks |
(14) (18/1 +28%)18/1(+28%) | (14) No Thanks 18/1, C&D winner. Creditable second of 13 in handicap hurdle (5/2) at Ballinrobe (21.6f, good) 8 days ago. Hood back on. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Second over hurdles last week, may have needed his Flat run at Killarney, won this in 2021. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Takarengo |
(16) (18/1 +28%)18/1(+28%) | (16) Takarengo 18/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. 4/1, creditable 4½ lengths third of 6 to En Or in minor event at Fairyhouse (14.2f, good) 21 days ago, slowly away. Needs to step up on the form of this season's Flat outings at Killarney and Fairyhouse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Seattle Sound |
(10) (20/1 -25%)20/1(-25%) | (10) Seattle Sound 20/1, Improved on recent efforts to win 8-runner handicap (20/1) at Limerick (12.3f, good) 39 days ago by ½ length from En Or, well ridden. Significantly up in trip. Can make presence felt. Exploited reduced mark when 20-1 winner at Limerick on second run after a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Queen Of Seduction |
(9) (22/1 -38%)22/1(-38%) | (9) Queen Of Seduction 22/1, Winner at Roscommon in June. Creditable second of 9 in handicap (9/2) at Tramore (12f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Form of her Tramore second was boosted when winner Vischio followed up at Ballinrobe. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Barnacullia |
(11) (22/1 -10%)22/1(-10%) | (11) Barnacullia 22/1, Useful jumps winner. Thrice-raced maiden on Flat. Useful winner at 18f in chases. 7/1, third of 10 in maiden at Tramore (12f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Winning hurdler/chaser, fair recent form in Flat maidens, potentially interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Walking On Glass |
(19) (22/1 +12%)22/1(+12%) | (19) Walking On Glass 22/1, C&D winner. Ninth of 11 in handicap chase at Roscommon (24.2f, good, 16/1) 51 days ago, going in snatches. Fair on the Flat, bit below form on last Flat outing. Won this event in 2020, unplaced last year, out of form over fences lately. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bal De Rio |
(18) (33/1 -32%)33/1(-32%) | (18) Bal De Rio 33/1, 7/2, didn't need to be at best when winning 12-runner claiming hurdle at Roscommon (20f, good to soft) 23 days ago, readily. Fair on the Flat, respectable on last Flat run. Winner of four hurdle races since March, no Flat run since 2020, ground-versatile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Last Ammo |
(7) (40/1 -186%)40/1(-186%) | (7) Last Ammo 40/1, 8/1, creditable second of 6 in handicap at Ballinrobe (12.6f, good to soft) 9 days ago, needing stiffer test. Significantly back up in trip. Looks competitive on form. AW winner in Britain, best Irish run when second at Ballinrobe last time, more needed now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Jam Man |
(12) (50/1 -25%)50/1(-25%) | (12) The Jam Man 50/1, Visored for 1st time, ninth of 10 in handicap (10/1) at Limerick (17f, good) 40 days ago, unsuited by way race developed. Blinkers back on. Much better known for jumping exploits, only Flat win at York in 2020, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dark Voyager |
(13) (66/1 +0%)66/1(+0%) | (13) Dark Voyager 66/1, Course winner. 100/1, pulled up in minor event hurdle at Wexford (17.4f, good to soft) 63 days ago. Fairly useful on the Flat, poor on last Flat outing. Useful type for Willie Mullins, has looked out of sorts in two hurdle races for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Never Do Nothing |
(8) (80/1 -60%)80/1(-60%) | (8) Never Do Nothing 80/1, 33/1, respectable fourth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (16f). Off 17 months. Probably best watched after such a long layoff. Four-time winner, three on the Flat and a juvenile hurdle, long absence to overcome. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Three Comets |
(17) (80/1 -21%)80/1(-21%) | (17) Three Comets 80/1, Twelfth of 14 in handicap (28/1) at Killarney (16.8f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Something to find on form. Won a Thurles handicap over 2m on soft ground last October, has struggled since then. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
NO THANKS won this race a couple of years ago and could run well again after a decent effort over hurdles on his most recent outing. The Matthew Smith-trained gelding chased home Father Jed at Ballinrobe eight days ago and the fact that he has winning form here in soft ground looks a big plus. En Or was a cosy enough winner at Fairyhouse last time and has to be respected after just a 4lb rise for that win. He does have plenty of weight to carry on this ground though. Hallowed Star is fitted with cheekpieces after a poor run over in Cartmel last time. He is a three-time winner over jumps at the track and could be each-way material if the headgear reignites his spark.
The step up to 2m should play to the strengths of EN OR who can provide Tony Martin with a third win in this race since 2013. Luke Comer's Seattle Sound beat the selection at Limerick last month and is second choice ahead of Willie Mullins pair Immelmann and Mr Escobar.
Noel Meade's runner CRASSUS made encouraging return to action at the Curragh and is interesting on the form he showed in 2021

Kilcruit |
(2) (5.5/1 +8%)5.5/1(+8%) | (2) Kilcruit 5.5/1, Posted a borderline high-class effort when making a winning handicap debut on only his fourth chase start in valuable event at the Punchestown Festival in April. Failed to stay back over hurdles in Group 1 at Auteuil (25f) following month. Big run expected. Made all for an emphatic win on handicap debut at Punchestown, up 12lb but stable selected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ash Tree Meadow |
(14) (6.5/1 +41%)6.5/1(+41%) | (14) Ash Tree Meadow 6.5/1, Developed into a useful chaser last season, winning 3 times before good fourth in this off a similar mark (rider dropped whip early in straight). Couple of recent spins (over hurdles/on the Flat) should put him spot on for this. Only one pound higher than when fourth to Hewick 12 months ago, pleasing recent Flat run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Enniskerry |
(8) (7/1 +36%)7/1(+36%) | (8) Enniskerry 7/1, Smart chaser. Career best when winning 7-runner Gr 3 chase at Roscommon (16.1f, good, 5/2) in September. Failed to give his running in Grade 1 at Fairyhouse in December but confirmed well-being when making a winning Flat debut 6 weeks ago, creating a very good impression. Remains unexposed. Winner of both completed races over fences, should be in prime shape after Flat maiden win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hollow Games |
(18) (9/1 +0%)9/1(+0%) | (18) Hollow Games 9/1, Useful hurdler who looked a natural when making a winning chase bow at Navan in November. Highly tried next 2 starts before back on track when fourth in handicap at the Punchestown Festival. Surely more to come from him in this sphere back up in trip. All four runs over fences have been over shorter, hurdles form implies he should stay. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Easy Game |
(3) (11/1 +39%)11/1(+39%) | (3) Easy Game 11/1, Superbly placed to win 8 of his last 9 starts. Badly hampered when tenth in this last year. Shortlisted. Unbeaten in four races since tenth behind Hewick a year ago, may find a few too good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Authorized Art |
(12) (14/1 -40%)14/1(-40%) | (12) Authorized Art 14/1, Completed hat-trick over fences in Grade 3 at Tipperary in October. Just the one decent effort since, however, Headgear refitted. Three-time chase winner, appears held by stablemate Kilcruit on Punchestown festival form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hewick |
(1) (14/1 -17%)14/1(-17%) | (1) Hewick 14/1, Top-class chaser who won the bet365 Gold Cup in 2022. Even better form last season, winning this race (off 12 lb lower), Grade 1 hurdle in the US and Grade 2 chase at Sandown. Shaped as if still in good form when fourth in Group 1 hurdle at Auteuil in May. Must be respected. Last year's winner, 12lb higher, prospect of testing ground for repeat bid is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Final Orders |
(7) (14/1 -56%)14/1(-56%) | (7) Final Orders 14/1, Has been nothing short of a revelation for these connections and completed a 5-timer over fences in valuable 2m handicap at Leopardstown. Shaped as if still in form in the Grand Annual before taking a heavy fall in the Topham at Aintree. Proved his well-being when scoring back on Flat last month. Won five in a row before fifth in the Grand Annual, fell in Topham, Flat winner last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fury Road |
(4) (16/1 -45%)16/1(-45%) | (4) Fury Road 16/1, Grade 2 winner at Down Royal last season and also placed in a couple of Grade 1s. On a good mark on those efforts back in a handicap. Grade 1 novice winner who has done much of his racing at top level, Jack Kennedy aboard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Goffer |
(13) (16/1 -45%)16/1(-45%) | (13) The Goffer 16/1, Much improved switched to fences last term, winning valuable event at Leopardstown in February and excellent fourth in the Ultima at Cheltenham. Pulled up in Irish National at Fairyhouse but back on track when fourth in bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown. Still only a 6-y-o so may have more to offer still. Last season's Leopardstown Chase winner, fourth in big handicaps at Cheltenham and Sandown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lifetime Ambition |
(5) (16/1 +0%)16/1(+0%) | (5) Lifetime Ambition 16/1, Grade 3 winner as a novice. Failed to win last season but was third in the John Durkin and was jumping superbly up with the pace in the Grand National only for luck to desert him (loose horse veered right into his path approaching first Valentine's). Shortlisted. Best run last season was over 3m when second in the Troytown, unseated in Grand National. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Foxy Jacks |
(11) (16/1 +52%)16/1(+52%) | (11) Foxy Jacks 16/1, Patchy record over fences and has plenty of miles on the clock but at least arrives on the back of a career-best win at Kilbeggan (25f, soft) 19 days ago. Game front-running winner of the Midlands National at Kilbeggan, extra 8lb may anchor him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A Wave Of The Sea |
(15) (16/1 +60%)16/1(+60%) | (15) A Wave Of The Sea 16/1, Useful chaser. Failed to win last season but finished an honourable ninth in the Grand National. Shaped encouragingly back over hurdles last month. Early faller in this race last year, ninth in Grand National, fair recent run over hurdles. |

Visionarian |
(9) (18/1 -13%)18/1(-13%) | (9) Visionarian 18/1, Excellent first season over fences, winning a Grade 3 and placed in a couple of Grade 1s. Probably needed the run back over hurdles last month and opening mark in this sphere looks a fair one. Grade 1-placed as a novice last season, has had a recent spin over hurdles, handicap debut. |

Gabbys Cross |
(16) (20/1 -25%)20/1(-25%) | (16) Gabbys Cross 20/1, Won handicap over C&D at this meeting last summer off 6 lb lower and shaped up well in good races later in the season. Had little go right in the Grand National final start. Won the Galway Blazers here last year, has tended to make the odd mistake in big handicaps. |

Ciel De Neige |
(10) (22/1 +0%)22/1(+0%) | (10) Ciel De Neige 22/1, Progressive as a novice chaser, winning 3 on the spin. Failed to hit the target last season but hinted at a revival before unseated rider 2 out in Topham Chase at Aintree when last seen. Not taken lightly. Won his first three chase starts, has failed to make a significant impact in handicaps. |

Fighter Allen |
(17) (33/1 +0%)33/1(+0%) | (17) Fighter Allen 33/1, Winning hurdler, one-time useful chaser. Out of sorts. No sign of his best in three runs last season, has had a run over hurdles this term. |

Upping The Anti |
(21) (33/1 +18%)33/1(+18%) | (21) Upping The Anti 33/1, Useful chaser who ran creditably up in grade when 13 lengths second in Gr 3 chase (14/1) at Thurles (18f, soft) in March but jumping once again let him down when falling heavily in the Topham at Aintree the following month. Two wins in novice races last season were achieved in weak races, absent since Topham fall. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FINAL ORDERS was a revelation when sent over fences last season, completing a five-timer in a valuable contest at Leopardstown in February before finishing fifth in the Grand Annual. He warmed up for this with a win on the level at Bellewstown, won't mind the soft ground, and has a nice racing weight. Fury Road is one of a strong team of contenders for Gordon Elliott and did most of his racing in Grade 1s last term, including when third in a pair of Leopardstown contests. He goes well on right-handed tracks. Born By The Sea won the Galway Blazers over C&D in 2021 and was fifth to Gabbys Cross in it last year. He's a few pounds out of the handicap but was a very creditable sixth in the Grand National and can go well at a price. Kilcruit is up 12lb for a front-running success on his most recent chase start at Punchestown, and Hewick carries 12lb more than when winning this last year.
Ultra-competitive but KILCRUIT looked an ideal type for this when scoring at the Punchestown Festival in impressive fashion, so earns the vote. Enniskerry and Hollow Games are unexposed chasers who surely have more to offer, while Fury Road is on a good mark on the pick of his form in Grade 1s.
Perhaps Danny Gilligan's 7lb claim will prove crucial on ASH TREE MEADOW, fourth to Hewick in this event 12 months ago

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BANNTOWN GIRL was placed for the second year running in a valuable mares' handicap at Leopardstown in February and has a sizeable pull at the weights with the winner Ballybawn Belter. Sonny Carey's charge got her head in front in a Ballinrobe maiden in May and will enjoy the soft ground. Delante, a half-sister to the dam of Douvan and Jonbon, won her only start in France on soft and showed her first bit of worthwhile Irish form when second to Red Ball Of Fire at Sligo. There should be more to come from her. The selection's Leopardstown conqueror Ballybawn Belter also hit the target at the Punchestown Festival in April. She's up another 7lb for that, and dropping back from 2m4f may not be ideal, but she is still a big player. Ready Downpatrick winner Cottie and Vischio, who has been in good form on the Flat, may both find underfoot conditions softer than ideal.
AURORA PRINCESS has been brought along steadily over hurdles since joining Emmet Mullins and this fairly useful winner on the level can take a big step forward on just her second handicap start now the headgear goes back on. Cottie and Royal Eagle came home 1-2 at Downpatrick last time and can fight it out for minor honours this time. Feet of A Dancer and Banntown Girl complete the shortlist in a very competitive handicap.
Very open with an each-way vote going to the improving 4yo FEET OF A DANCER

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A winning point-to-pointer in late 2021, HIGH CLASS HERO overcame a long absence to score on his Rules debut in a Listowel bumper last month. He beat a useful type who has subsequently won his first two starts over hurdles very easily and seems sure to stay this trip, with that bumper win having come over 2m4f. Paul Townend's mount is clearly Wille Mullins' main hope, although stablemates All The Others and Alvaniy have both shown enough in bumpers to be contenders if they take to hurdles. Tag Man's Leopardstown second to subsequent Grade 1 winner Good Land is an eyecatching line of form and a mark of 130 sets a very good standard. There was little wrong with his latest run in a winners' contest at Punchestown, but he will need to settle better to see out this trip. Arabian Diamond was around a dozen lengths behind Tag Man when sixth in a Fairyhouse maiden on debut and shaped like a strong stayer when routing his rivals in a Sligo bumper last time.
HIGH CLASS HERO has already won a point and made a big impression when readily going clear to score in a bumper at Listowel a couple of months ago, so he's worth a chance to make a successful transition to hurdling. Arabian Diamond has plenty of potential returning to hurdling and he's considered a big threat, while Tag Man has the best hurdling form on show, so he's another big player.
A ready winner over a decent sort in his bumper win HIGH CLASS HERO (nap) looks the one here on hurdles debut

Big Debates |
(11) (40/1 -150%)40/1(-150%) | (11) Big Debates 40/1, Two wins from 6 runs last season. Latest win in chase at Fairyhouse in December. Creditable fifth of 25 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at Punchestown (19.8f, good to soft) 98 days ago. Lower in the weights over timber compared to chase mark. Better chaser but Punchestown festival hurdle run puts him in the mix; soft ground suits. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Another devilishly competitive handicap, but SOMETHING ABOUTHER is interesting from an initial mark of 114. Padraig Roche's mare won her only bumper start on soft ground and relished the step up in trip to 2m6f when landing a Punchestown maiden last month. She'll come up the hill well if in the same form and is open to plenty of improvement. Fancy A Cosmo represents a stable in form and was placed on soft ground at this venue in the autumn. He put his handicap experience to good use when easily landing a Wexford maiden in early July. We'llhavewan beat a pair of subsequent winners at Ballinrobe in May and has won over 2m5f in the past. He's up 12lb for that latest win but there could well be more to come. Thornleigh Frank and Miss Tempo are both on a hat-trick but have risen sharply in the ratings.
Any number to consider but THORNLEIGH FRANK is improving at a rate of knots and with this trip expected to be within range, he is taken to shrug off another hefty rise in the weights. Something Abouther and We'llhavewan head the list of dangers, though Shanwalla, a winner at the meeting in 2021, also demands respect.
Preference is for WE'LLHAVEWAN, whose Ballinrobe win couldn't have worked out better and is proven over this trip and on soft
Ths is the racecard key.
