1st (7) (4/1 +0%) Motazzen |
4/1(+0%) | (7) Motazzen 4/1, Became his trainer's first jumps winner since renewing her licence here a fortnight ago. Did it decisively, suggesting this longer trip should suit, and he could follow up after a 7 lb rise. Decisive 2m1f course winner (soft) latest; will need improvement to defy a 7lb rise.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/2 +68%) Kalif D'airy |
9/2(+68%) | (1) Kalif D'airy 9/2, Third in a pair of 2m juvenile hurdles at Newbury and Hereford last winter but well held in 2 handicaps fitted with a tongue tie this time around. Mark is dipping. 1 of 2 runners for top local yard. Placed in juvenile hurdles; unable to get in a blow in handicaps; drops 4lb; bit to prove.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (6/4 +40%) Getoverthathill |
6/4(+40%) | (5) Getoverthathill 6/4, Proved a different proposition sent handicapping after 7 weeks off when landing 22f novice contest here 6 weeks ago, travelling well and drawing clear. More to come up 9 lb. 2m5f winner here latest; could be more to come over this slightly shorter trip; contender.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (13/2 -63%) Runaway Train |
13/2(-63%) | (4) Runaway Train 13/2, Has run much better the last twice, second on handicap debut at Southwell (2m) 4 weeks ago, faring best of the trio who ensured a brisk early gallop. Got to be respected up in trip. Up 3lb for improved effort; the longer trip should help him find more; a likely player.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (28/1 -100%) Alioski |
28/1(-100%) | (3) Alioski 28/1, Sole hurdles success came in 2m Worcester maiden in 2022 but largely acquitted himself well after and notched third win on the Flat at Ffos Las in August. In rear when unseating fifth at Leicester back over hurdles last month. Wouldn't rule out. Stays 2m3f; unseated at Leicester latest but not written off granted a clear round.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (18/1 -80%) Karakoy |
18/1(-80%) | (8) Karakoy 18/1, Fair winner on the Flat who showed plenty more over hurdles last 2 starts in June. Might find this a bit tougher back up in trip after 6 months off. Best effort over hurdles latest but this may still be a bit to competitive for him.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The Chris Gordon-trained GETOVERTHATHILL bolted up over an extended 2m5f here on his handicap bow last month and should a drop in trip fail to inconvenience him, the 9lb rise incurred for that success does not look insurmountable. That said, Runaway Train has a similar profile to the selection and is interesting stepped up in trip. Motazzen heads the remainder.
Quite a competitive opener, with MOTAZZEN taken to follow up his recent course success. He proved really strong at the finish then and his revised mark should be within reach. The lightly-raced Getoverthathill also won well here last time and is an obvious danger. Coco Brave is another to note.
The pick looks to be GETOVERTHATHILL (nap), who won with a fair amount in hand last time and is taken to defy a 9lb rise.

1st (3) (5/6 +75%) Kalium |
5/6(+75%) | (3) Kalium 5/6, Winning debut in a Killarney bumper in May and has made a good start over hurdles for new yard, chasing home promising one at Ludlow before getting the job done in good style at Wetherby. Can improve further. Bumper winner and off the mark over hurdles last time; seems sure to go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (5/1 +58%) Sanitiser |
5/1(+58%) | (9) Sanitiser 5/1, A fairly useful handicapper on the Flat and having finished a good second over C&D he readily opened his hurdling account in 5-runner handicap at Kempton (2m) last month. Not in the same form at Fakenham a week later, however. Has plenty of experience over hurdles (1-12) but looks vulnerable to less exposed rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (4/1 -60%) Andashan |
4/1(-60%) | (4) Andashan 4/1, Made a winning bumper debut at Kempton in February and bettered that form when third of 20 in a valuable event at Newbury 6 weeks later. Well backed but got no further than the first on last week's hurdles debut at Plumpton. Clearly retains potential. Respected bumper form early in year; unseated early on hurdles debut; interesting prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (6/1 +14%) Hors Jeu |
6/1(+14%) | (2) Hors Jeu 6/1, Fairly useful form over hurdles in France in May, winning at Moulins and second at Auteuil. Sets a good standard for a novice like this and seems sure to go well if ready to roll. 1-3 over hurdles in France, the win coming over 2m1f on very soft ground; watch the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (200/1 -100%) Ballela Blaze |
200/1(-100%) | (5) Ballela Blaze 200/1, Easy winner sole start in Irish points in March 2023 but just modest form in a bumper 4 months later and offered little sent hurdling at Southwell on comeback last week. 1-1 in Irish points, but well beaten in a bumper and a hurdle race; best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 +10%) Pearl's Pirate |
18/1(+10%) | (8) Pearl's Pirate 18/1, Offered something to work on despite looking badly in need of experience in March bumper here that the yard has farmed over the years. One to note now hurdling. Some promise when third of six in a bumper here in March; stable has a good record in this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (150/1 -50%) Polly Pi |
150/1(-50%) | (10) Polly Pi 150/1, Shaped with promise in both bumper starts but looks a longer-term project over hurdles. Some ability in both her bumpers but poor at huge odds in two starts over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (33/1 -65%) Xyle Enki |
33/1(-65%) | (11) Xyle Enki 33/1, Fair hurdler/chaser, successful on 2 of her 3 starts over fences early in 2022/23. Long absence to overcome but in-form yard can ready one and she's worth a look returning over hurdles on these terms. Dual winner over fences in France in the summer of 2022; off 844 days; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (100/1 -300%) Beauld As Brass |
100/1(-300%) | (6) Beauld As Brass 100/1, Fair handicapper on Flat (stays 11f), good second last week despite losing many lengths at start. Has plenty of quirks so hard to predict how he'll take to hurdling. Dual winning sprinter on the Flat; this looks a stiff task on hurdles debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
KALIUM appeared to bump into one at Ludlow in October and Tim Vaughan's gelding made no mistake at Wetherby last month. He is fancied to defy the penalty en route to further success. Andashan didn't make it past the first hurdle at Plumpton recently having been sent off a warm favourite but he remains of interest, while Malinificent, who showed promise on his hurdling bow at Leicester three weeks ago, is also noted.
Quite a deep-looking novice, with KALIUM fancied to take another step forward and make it 2-3 over hurdles. He showed a good attitude for a lightly-raced hurdler when scoring at Wetherby and seems sure to win more races. French recruit Hors Jeu sets a decent standard if ready to roll, while Andashan remains with potential despite his Plumpton mishap.
Another chance is given to ANDASHAN after his recent Plumpton blip on hurdles debut. He looked such a promising type in bumpers.

1st (3) (11/4 -22%) Koenigsstern |
11/4(-22%) | (3) Koenigsstern 11/4, Dual winning pointer (also successful 3 times on the Flat) and has shown plenty for all that he's yet to strike over hurdles/fences. Runner-up both starts switched to this sphere since returning to action in October and he has to enter calculations. Two point wins; has run two fair races in defeat since switched to fences, including C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (5/2 +50%) Gorcombe Moonshine |
5/2(+50%) | (7) Gorcombe Moonshine 5/2, Fair runs over hurdles in the summer and won this last year on first go over fences. No surprise to see him go well back chasing after 6 months off. Fell latest chase start but goes well fresh and won this in 2023 after a break; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (3/1 +54%) Valirann Gold |
3/1(+54%) | (6) Valirann Gold 3/1, Second to Gorcombe Moonshine in this 12 months ago and struck back here in February, going on from faltering leader. Poor here a fortnight ago after a promising return, though. Course winner; close 2nd in this race last year; below best after good return in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (13/2 -44%) Greenrock Abbey |
13/2(-44%) | (2) Greenrock Abbey 13/2, Dual winner over fences at Hereford during 2022/23 and placed twice last season. Might have needed his return at Huntingdon last month although his tame finish wasn't anything new. Dual 2m chase winner on soft; modest return to action in November; conditions will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/1 +8%) Coup De Gold |
11/1(+8%) | (5) Coup De Gold 11/1, Dual winner over hurdles and offered something to work on before departing late making a belated chase debut at Hereford 4 weeks ago. Wouldn't rule out. Two hurdle wins; fell late on chase debut but not ruled out at this ordinary level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 -17%) Chosen Hero |
14/1(-17%) | (4) Chosen Hero 14/1, Winning hurdler who ran well on her return at Sedgefield but shaped as if amiss making chasing debut after 9 weeks off at Hexham. Bit to prove. Winning Irish pointer; good return in 2m4f hurdle but was pulled up on chase debut since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Koenigsstern has produced a similar level of form on both of his starts over fences and must be respected with the potential of more to come, but GORCOMBE MOONSHINE is preferred. 1lb out of the handicap when landing the corresponding event 12 months ago, he has an added 1lb to contend with but that is unlikely to prevent a bold bid. Valirann Gold, who chased him home for second last year, can be hot on his heels once again.
GORCOMBE MOONSHINE won this on his return last year and could repeat the feat. Koenigsstern has made a good start over fences and is a big player. Coup de Gold might go well if none the worse after his Hereford spill.
This can go to KOENIGSSTERN who has a race in him at this level. Greenrock Abbey is next best.

1st (3) (2/7 +46%) Galactic Charm |
2/7(+46%) | (3) Galactic Charm 2/7, Fairly useful staying handicapper on Flat for Michael Bell (47,000 gns buy for new connections). Made a promising start over hurdles at Sandown 3 weeks ago, sticking to his task despite his inexperience showing over the last 2 flights. Sure to go well for top local yard with good record in this. Quite useful at 1m4f-2m on the Flat; promising hurdle debut 2nd at Sandown; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/1 -47%) El Gavilan |
11/1(-47%) | (2) El Gavilan 11/1, Fair form over hurdles in France and runner-up to subsequent listed winner Sauvignon on debut, but proved disappointing on first go in this country at Warwick (9/4) recently, finding little. Hurdle promise in France; faded on British debut this month; capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (4/1 +0%) Roi De Baviere |
4/1(+0%) | (6) Roi De Baviere 4/1, Fair maiden on Flat in France who improved on hurdling debut form when second to promising sort from the Venetia Williams' yard at Leicester (2m). Can do better again. In the frame on Flat in France; improved for hurdle debut when 2nd latest; can progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (50/1 -257%) Candle Wax |
50/1(-257%) | (1) Candle Wax 50/1, Modest and disappointing maiden on the Flat for William Haggas. Been off another 7 months and some hope for him being from the family of fairly useful hurdler Shadagann. Tongue tie goes on. Modest Flat form for W Haggas, including on handicap debut; work to do now hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (28/1 -12%) Red Cloud |
28/1(-12%) | (5) Red Cloud 28/1, Modest performer successful twice at up to 1½m on the Flat in 2024 and probably needed the run with a tongue strap retained for his hurdling debut after 7 weeks off at Kempton. Has enough about him physically to suggest he'll do better in this sphere at some stage. Won 2 of his last 5 on the Flat but he finished remote on hurdle debut at Kempton. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GALACTIC CHARM lost little in defeat when finding only a progressive rival too strong on his hurdles bow at Sandown 20 days ago. The Gary & Josh Moore-trained gelding looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account in this sphere and is likely to prove a warm order. Roi De Baviere is heading in the right direction judged on his latest second at Leicester and is feared most, ahead of El Gavilan.
Hard to see past GALACTIC CHARM after his promising Sandown run and he can give the Moore stable another win in this contest. Roi de Baviere looks the one for the forecast.
Roi De Baviere can progress further but GALACTIC CHARM is the one to beat following a highly promising hurdle debut at Sandown.

1st (5) (13/2 -44%) Shutupshirley |
13/2(-44%) | (5) Shutupshirley 13/2, Improving in handicap hurdles when last seen at the end of 2022, scoring at Exeter and Wincanton. Can progress further if all is well. Tongue tie goes on. Off for two years but returns chasing a hat-trick; up 2lb and, if ready, he's a player.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/10 +63%) Hidden History |
11/10(+63%) | (2) Hidden History 11/10, £45,000 Irish point winner who struck in heavy-ground Lingfield maiden hurdle in February. Offered more than enough to think he can make an impact from this sort of mark on return/handicap debut at Chepstow last month, not knocked about. Upped markedly in trip and capable of better. 2m3f winner; might have finished closer latest but for a late mistake; not ruled out.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -100%) Spike Jones |
9/2(-100%) | (1) Spike Jones 9/2, Dual C&D winner in 2022/23 season (including this race) and successful return after 11 months off in 23f Lingfield handicap fitted with cheekpieces, pulling it out of the fire late. One to consider up just 2 lb. Won the 2022 renewal; up 2lb for winning at Lingfield (2m7f, good) latest; big player.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (13/2 +35%) Gata Ban |
13/2(+35%) | (7) Gata Ban 13/2, Made a winning handicap debut at Taunton (19f) in December 2022 and is seemingly working her way back to fitness, more like it when sixth of 17 at Chepstow 7 weeks ago. Handicapper drops her another 3 lb and she's one to consider upped further in trip. Irish point and hurdle winner; well beaten in both starts since layoff; others preferred.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (22/1 -83%) San Pedro |
22/1(-83%) | (6) San Pedro 22/1, C&D winner who has been quiet but is back on his last successful mark and a revival wouldn't be a complete surprise. C&D winner; acts on soft; on a winning mark but below par in three starts since a break.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (14/1 -40%) No But I Will |
14/1(-40%) | (3) No But I Will 14/1, Winning hurdler/chaser who probably needed his October run for new yard. They've been among the winners and he scored second time up last season (over fences) so he's not discounted down in class. Staying hurdle and chase winner; well beaten on stable debut; handy mark if revived.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (17/2 -55%) Heaven Smart |
17/2(-55%) | (4) Heaven Smart 17/2, Fairly useful 3m chase winner back over hurdles this autumn, well beaten at Kempton latest but running well on return over C&D before that. Can't be dismissed back here. 3m chase winner; well below par on last two starts; each-way player if he can bounce back.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
First-time cheekpieces proved just the tonic for SPIKE JONES when making a winning return at Lingfield last month. A 2lb nudge up in the ratings looks more than workable and a sixth career victory could be in the offing. Market support for the hat-trick seeking Shutupshirley would be interesting on his belated comeback, while winning pointer Hidden History catches the eye up in trip.
HIDDEN HISTORY made an encouraging comeback/handicap debut at Chepstow in a race that is working out and he could be set for a big run if his stamina holds out upped markedly in trip. 2022-winner Spike Jones made a successful return at Lingfield and can go well again. Gata Ban is another to consider.
Any market confidence behind Shutupshirley would be interesting but preference is for 2022 winner SPIKE JONES to repeat the feat.

1st (1) (11/1 -267%) River Tyne |
11/1(-267%) | (1) River Tyne 11/1, Back on the up with wins over C&D and Plumpton before finding the Southern National here last month too hot, the trip possibly stretching her. This is easier. C&D winner; well beaten when upped in trip here latest but not ruled out if bouncing back.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (15/8 -36%) Instant Gambler |
15/8(-36%) | (3) Instant Gambler 15/8, Much improved chasing this season, his 4-timer including 3 wins over C&D (unbeaten here), while he wasn't ideally placed as his losing run came to an end at Fakenham 8 weeks ago. Good chance he has more to offer. Triple C&D winner; below par at Fakenham latest but looks a major player back here.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/3 +76%) Record High |
10/3(+76%) | (4) Record High 10/3, Bumper winner here in February 2022 but presumably been hard to train since and has shown little in 2 runs over fences this term. Won a maiden bumper here but has been unable to add to that; others preferred.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (3/1 +14%) Captain Claude |
3/1(+14%) | (2) Captain Claude 3/1, Good record here and took this last year. Will be better for his recent return and a big run looks on the cards back up in trip. 11l winner of this last year; likely to be better for his recent run; contender.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (16/1 +0%) Uallrightharry |
16/1(+0%) | (5) Uallrightharry 16/1, Took advantage of a big drop in the weights when taking C&D handicap in March but quickly back into his shell since, fading and well beaten on return at Lingfield 4 weeks ago. Only 3lb higher than when scoring here in March but has been well below that level since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (15/2 +25%) Dysania |
15/2(+25%) | (6) Dysania 15/2, Finally off the mark in novices' handicap chase at Lingfield on comeback 13 months ago and fair return there recently. Doesn't appeal as the likely winner here, though. 2m7f chase winner; recent return from a break offered some encouragement; not written off.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
INSTANT GAMBLER's winning spree came to an end at Fakenham, but three of his four previous victories came over this C&D and the form of that latest third has been boosted since so he is fancied to maintain his unblemished Fontwell record. Captain Claude took this prize home 12 months ago and should make a bold defence of his crown, for all that he hasn't managed to get his head in front since and is 5lb higher. River Tyne found the Southern National all too much, but was in fine form prior to it.
Last year's winner CAPTAIN CLAUDE will be all the better for his recent return here and can strike again back up at a more suitable trip. Instant Gambler defends an unbeaten record at Fontwell (3-3) and should get back on track after a break. River Tyne is also in the mix.
Proven here and on soft ground, INSTANT GAMBLER is forgiven a slightly lesser effort at Fakenham and can regain the winning thread.

15/2(+53%) | (6) Graeme The Grey 15/2, £9,000 3-y-o, Kingston Hill gelding out of fairly useful 17f-2½m chase winner, half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (17f-2¾m winner) Jubilatoire and useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3¼m) Jatiluwih. 28/1(+15%) | (7) Kevano Breeze 28/1, Still in need of the experience but showed more than on debut 7 months earlier when fourth at Lingfield recently. Looks vulnerable back here. Promising on his recent return in a Lingfield AW bumper; now has something to build on.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
With Edward Sexton ruled out, GENTLEMAN TOBOOT's task has been made considerably easier. David Pipe's four-year-old made a striking impression on his sole appearance between the flags and offered plenty of encouragement when third at Newton Abbot on his first start under Rules. He was just behind a subsequent Listed winner there and sets a good standard. Desert Guest was fancied to perform better than he did at Hereford and can chase him home, with Chivalrous George possibly the pick of the newcomers.
EDWARD SEXTON made a very promising start behind a stablemate at Sandown 7 weeks ago and is the one to beat. Gentleman Toboot likewise shaped well first time up at Newton Abbot, form that is working out nicely, and he's feared most. Chivalrous George might be the pick of the 3 newcomers.
The chief beneficiary of Edward Sexton's absence looks to be GENTLEMAN TOBOOT.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
