1st (1) (13/2 -8%) Ballymagroarty Boy |
13/2(-8%) | (1) Ballymagroarty Boy 13/2, Sole win came in 2018 but he ran several good races in defeat last season and resumed with a pair of creditable in-frame efforts over C&D last month. Likely to give his running again. Has very modest strike-rate but is consistent and was placed over C&D on heavy last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (4/1 -33%) Balkardy |
4/1(-33%) | (6) Balkardy 4/1, In excellent form over fences in summer 2022 and has found only one too good on all 3 starts back hurdling on return, left with too much to do and shaping well over C&D latest. Might be the answer. Second twice over C&D last month (heavy/soft) and another good run seems very likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (17/2 -21%) Front View |
17/2(-21%) | (3) Front View 17/2, Useful hurdler/chaser in Ireland for Joseph O'Brien in 2020/21. Has been given a chance by the handicapper but hasn't obviously been shaping as if ready to take advantage. Could only consider if backed. Too well handicapped to rule out but needs to turn a corner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (12/1 -20%) Crossing The Bar |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Crossing The Bar 12/1, Successful twice over hurdles at Plumpton (both at 25f) during second half of last season. Bit disappointing in a couple of chases in recent months and now reverts to hurdles in a bid to get back on track. Well beaten on two chases this autumn; now back to hurdling with cheekpieces fitted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (4/1 +50%) Always Busy |
4/1(+50%) | (8) Always Busy 4/1, Caused a 66/1 surprise when making his second hurdles start a winning one at Warwick (2m) last November. Hasn't been able to repeat that effort since but his mark has come down a long way as a result and 3m might suit him. Market support worth noting. Has not progressed from shock win 13 months ago; new trip today; needs to up his game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (40/1 -186%) Galop Du Bosc |
40/1(-186%) | (9) Galop Du Bosc 40/1, Lost his form towards the end of last season and fared no better on Hereford reappearance in October (final start for Tim Vaughan). Needs to have been revitalised by a change of scenery. Badly out of form over fences; back hurdling in new headgear for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/2 -5%) Jasmiwa |
7/2(-5%) | (7) Jasmiwa 7/2, Dual winner on testing ground last season, including over C&D. Posted a respectable third of 6 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (23.5f, soft) on return 6 weeks ago. 1 lb lower now and merits consideration. Soft-ground C&D winner last season; not yet fully exposed and enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (4/1 +0%) Minella Double |
4/1(+0%) | (5) Minella Double 4/1, Successful on second of 2 starts in Irish points. Disappointing in bumper on Rules debut but proved a different proposition when making a winning start over hurdles at Hexham (2½m, heavy) in October. Well-held third at Aintree (2½m again) since but retains potential now handicapping at 3m. Not obviously well handicapped on form of Hexham maiden win but open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (28/1 +15%) Mourzouk |
28/1(+15%) | (4) Mourzouk 28/1, Much improved when racking up a hat-trick in April/May 2022 but not seen again until down the field at Warwick last month. Entitled to come on for that outing but can only really watch this time. Won three in a row on good ground in spring 2022 but tailed off last month, after a layoff. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MINELLA DOUBLE appeals most as he takes a drop in class to make his handicap hurdle debut. A respectable third in a class 3 series qualifier at Aintree last month, that form looks solid given the winner of that race was in the process of running a big race until he unseated his rider in Grade 2 at Sandown last Friday and a bold bid is expected from Olly Murphy's gelding. Balkardy could capitalise if the step up in trip catches out the selection, while Jasmiwa completes the shortlist.
BALKARDY shaped well from too far back when runner-up over C&D last time and can deservedly get his head back in front after a trio of seconds. Minella Double strikes as a likely improver now stepping up to 3m for his handicap debut and is second choice ahead of Jasmiwa.
C&D winner JASMIWA made a satisfactory seasonal debut in October and ought to be better suited by today's slower ground.

1st (1) (2/9 +56%) The Jukebox Man |
2/9(+56%) | (1) The Jukebox Man 2/9, Point winner who has made an excellent start under Rules, landing a course bumper in March and returning to win a C&D maiden on last month's hurdle debut. Looks useful and hard to beat again. Impressed over C&D on last month's hurdling debut, winning readily by 5l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (50/1 -317%) House Of Stories |
50/1(-317%) | (5) House Of Stories 50/1, Won a point in May 2021 but hasn't been seen since. A watching brief has to be the percentage call. Bought for £44,000 after Irish point win in spring 2022; not seen again since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/1 -45%) Three Cliffs Bay |
4/1(-45%) | (2) Three Cliffs Bay 4/1, Left hurdle debut behind when winning a 2m course novice (heavy) last month. He was helped by the runner-up making a mess of the last and he will need to raise his game to live with The Jukebox Man. Kept on strongly from off the pace to cause 25-1 surprise here (2m, heavy) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (28/1 -12%) Ghost Hunter |
28/1(-12%) | (4) Ghost Hunter 28/1, £80,000 buy after finishing second in an Irish point in April but well beaten on his debut for new connections in a 21f Kempton novice hurdle last month. Very early days but can only watch this time. Second on Irish point debut in April but made low-key rules debut last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (20/1 -43%) Shillanavogy |
20/1(-43%) | (6) Shillanavogy 20/1, Cost £65,000 after making the frame both starts in Irish points. Well beaten in bumper here in the spring but those point efforts suggest he could fare better now jumping over a longer trip. Made the frame in both Irish points but well beaten in course bumper in April. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A comfortable winner over this course and distance last month, THE JUKEBOX MAN is hard to oppose in his bid to complete a hat-trick of straight wins, having breezed to victory in a bumper here on his penultimate start. As is the case with the selection, Three Cliffs Bay picks up a penalty for winning last time out and he too commands respect, with the longer trip expected to suit. Ghost Hunter is suggested as the pick of the rest.
This will probably develop into a match between last month's course winners THE JUKEBOX MAN and Three Cliffs Bay, with the former preferred.
Two of these won on the same day here one month ago. C&D winner THE JUKEBOX MAN is more persuasive than 2m winner Three Cliffs Bay.

1st (9) (7/1 +30%) Tedtwo |
7/1(+30%) | (9) Tedtwo 7/1, Bumper winner for Brian Ellison last season. Should be up to making an impact in a race like this on hurdles bow if his new trainer has him fully primed after 8 months off. Catterick bumper winner for Brian Ellison; makes stable/hurdle debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (33/1 -340%) Tedley |
33/1(-340%) | (8) Tedley 33/1, Well held both bumper starts last season but more like it when third of 9 switched to hurdling at Hereford on return. Well held on heavy at Cheltenham since. 100-1 third on hurdling debut but safely held since; others look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/3 +39%) Golden De Coeur |
10/3(+39%) | (4) Golden De Coeur 10/3, Fair but winless in bumpers but successful in a couple of points earlier in the year and showed plenty making his hurdling/yard debut when second here (20f, heavy, 18/1) on return last month, no match for winner but clear of rest. Player. Dual Irish point winner; clear second over 2m4f here when back under rules last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (150/1 -50%) Inebranlable |
150/1(-50%) | (5) Inebranlable 150/1, Runner-up sole start in points but offered little in bumper/novice hurdle 11 months apart. Well beaten when 200-1 for last month's hurdling debut at Lingfield (2m3f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (15/2 -15%) Tour Ovalie |
15/2(-15%) | (11) Tour Ovalie 15/2, Progressive in bumpers. 11½ lengths sixth of 15 to in listed bumper at Cheltenham (16.4f, heavy) 24 days ago, left with lot to do. Makes hurdles debut. Could go well. Very respectable sixth in Cheltenham bumper last month; hurdling debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (15/2 -443%) Fortunate Man |
15/2(-443%) | (3) Fortunate Man 15/2, €210,000 4-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Half-brother to a point winner. Dam unraced sister to temperamental but useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 21f) Jenkins. Successful sole start in Irish points (Apr 16). Wears tongue strap. Interesting newcomer. Bought for 210,000euros soon after winning Irish point debut in April; interesting recruit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (18/1 -29%) Pomerol George |
18/1(-29%) | (6) Pomerol George 18/1, Third sole start in Irish points. Third at Fairyhouse only start in bumpers. Left Stuart Crawford £60,000/off 20 months, some encouragement when 4¼ lengths fourth of 11 in novice at Uttoxeter on hurdling debut. Off another 14 months since but entitled to progress. Made quite promising stable/hurdle debut in October 2022 but not seen again since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (5/4 +69%) Steel Ally |
5/4(+69%) | (7) Steel Ally 5/4, Showed plenty when runner-up on debut in a Chepstow bumper (2m) over a year ago. Failed to build on that in 2 subsequent outings but was unlucky not to make a winning start over hurdles over C&D on return last month (landed very awkwardly at the last). Can make amends. Probably unlucky not to win over C&D on last month's hurdling debut; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (12/1 +14%) Another Folly |
12/1(+14%) | (1) Another Folly 12/1, Runner-up both starts in points and much better effort under Rules when sixth of 12 in a class 2 hurdle at Compiegne (17.9f, heavy, 43/1) 32 days ago. Not taken lightly. Not beaten far on heavy ground in France last month; not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (150/1 -355%) Aworkingman |
150/1(-355%) | (2) Aworkingman 150/1, Kalanisi gelding. Dam unraced. Out of an unraced half-sister to two fairly useful jumpers; probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (400/1 -300%) Jaunty Belle |
400/1(-300%) | (10) Jaunty Belle 400/1, Has shown nothing in 2 bumpers/maiden hurdle. Well beaten in both bumpers last season and when 150-1 for recent hurdling debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A 210,000-euro purchase after landing an Irish point-to-point in April, FORTUNATE MAN is yet another appealing recruit to race in the colours of JP McManus. Given the limited amount of previous winning form presented by the opposition, this son of Soldier Of Fortune looks ideally placed to make a winning debut. Another big run from The Jukebox Man in the previous race would boost the form claims held by Golden De Coeur, who chased that rival home last time out, and he looks next best ahead of recent C&D second Steel Ally.
STEEL ALLY was unlucky not to make a winning start over hurdles at this C&D on return last month, in control when a very awkward landing at the last handed the initiative to the winner, and he's taken to make amends, though market support for expensive Irish-point winner Fortunate Man would look significant. Tour Ovalie and Tedtwo showed plenty in bumpers so are also worth a second look.
Probably unlucky not to win over C&D on last month's hurdling debut, STEEL ALLY is given the verdict over Golden De Coeur.

1st (7) (13/2 +7%) Arctic Footprint |
13/2(+7%) | (7) Arctic Footprint 13/2, On a good mark judged on form from a couple of seasons back and was sent off a well-backed favourite on return/debut for new yard at Chepstow. However, she was pulled up there and hopes pinned on subsequent wind op and the addition of a tongue strap working the oracle. Flopped on last month's stable debut but could still stage a revival for Kerry Lee. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (3/1 +33%) Passing Kate |
3/1(+33%) | (5) Passing Kate 3/1, Has made a positive start for in-form yard this season, off the mark in a 6-runner Leicester handicap (15.5f, heavy) last time. 5 lb rise for the narrow success demands more but she doesn't have many miles on the clock and may be capable of better still. Battled well to open account at Leicester last month and further progress is possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (100/1 -203%) Triple Nickle |
100/1(-203%) | (4) Triple Nickle 100/1, Fair dual-purpose performer on her day, but her sole success in this sphere was gained back in March 2021 and she was well held on return (fit from the Flat) at Taunton last month. Back from long absence with two disappointing runs; current ability hard to gauge. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (12/1 +52%) Call Me Sainte |
12/1(+52%) | (9) Call Me Sainte 12/1, Little form in a bumper/over hurdles to date and she needs to find improvement from somewhere. Yet to show anything more than glimmers of promise after six hurdling starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/1 +36%) Pageant Material |
9/1(+36%) | (3) Pageant Material 9/1, Hit the target twice, in this sphere and over fences, at Ffos Las last season. Reappearance third in a handicap chase back here in October was encouraging but she has misfired both subsequent starts. Now tried in cheekpieces. Three-time course winner on heavy ground but needs a boost from the new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (6/1 +25%) Harkangel |
6/1(+25%) | (6) Harkangel 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who resumed from 9 months off with a respectable fourth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Sedgefield (21.2f, soft). Eased 1 lb and she's not discounted with Brian Hughes booked. Just a respectable fourth on seasonal debut but remains unexposed; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (15/2 -50%) Annie Day |
15/2(-50%) | (1) Annie Day 15/2, Made it 2 wins from 4 starts for this yard when narrowly outpointing Giulietta at Warwick (19f, heavy) with cheekpieces refitted last month. 6 lb rise not the end of the world but it's worth noting that she was well held both starts following a successful reappearance last season. Just too strong for Guilietta when scoring on last month's seasonal debut at Warwick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (3/1 -117%) Giulietta |
3/1(-117%) | (2) Giulietta 3/1, Related to some useful performers in these silks and duly improved on her handicap debut when just touched off by Annie Day at Warwick. Appeals as the type to progress further and it would be no surprise were she to turn the tables on that rival here. Ran big race in defeat behind Annie Day on last month's seasonal/handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/1 -22%) Lemon Ice |
11/1(-22%) | (8) Lemon Ice 11/1, Just one effort of note on the level in Ireland (0-6 in that sphere) and she hasn't cut much ice in 3 starts over hurdles so far. Improvement needed now upped in trip/blinkered on handicap debut in this sphere. Cut little ice in three juvenile hurdles last season; makes handicap debut today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GIULIETTA (second) may have a neck to find with Annie Day (first) from their clash at Warwick last month, but Dan Skelton's charge had to make up ground from towards the rear on that occasion and, with a more positive ride on this occasion, she can overturn the form. A determined winner over shorter at Leicester last month, Passing Kate is entitled to be thereabouts as well.
The one who appeals most is GIULIETTA, who was just touched off by the re-opposing Annie Day at Warwick and, armed with plenty of scope for improvement, she is confidently expected to reverse the placings with Ben Case's mare this time. Passing Kate may well build on her Leicester breakthrough success and is feared most ahead of Harkangel.
Just outbattled by Annie Day at Warwick last month, GIULIETTA (nap) has the potential to improve past her old rival here.

1st (5) (14/1 -115%) Carbon King |
14/1(-115%) | (5) Carbon King 14/1, Progressive when winning 3 handicap hurdles in Ireland for Declan Queally last season but well beaten in 2 starts for current yard, so plenty to prove back over fences. Eased in grade for this return to chasing but has quite a bit to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (3/1 +14%) Fine Casting |
3/1(+14%) | (3) Fine Casting 3/1, Bagged his third success over hurdles when taking 19f Haydock handicap a year ago and ran a cracker when fourth of 16 in the Imperial Cup at Sandown in March. Disappointed there final start but type to bounce back. Off 7 months. Makes chase debut. Useful hurdler who has won here on heavy ground; on good mark for seasonal/chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/4 -17%) The King Of Ryhope |
7/4(-17%) | (1) The King Of Ryhope 7/4, Low-mileage 7-y-o who displayed fairly useful form over hurdles last term and improved to make a winning return/handicap chase debut at Chepstow (19.5f) in October, seeing off a resilient rival (pair clear). Underfoot conditions fine and big player with more to come. Made winning chase/handicap debut at Chepstow in October and can make further progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (8/1 +27%) Lubeat Foras |
8/1(+27%) | (6) Lubeat Foras 8/1, Point and Sedgefield bumper winner. With another different yard and shaped well second time up over hurdles at Doncaster (20.8f) in January 2022. Not in same form at Ffos Las following month and off since (22 months). Makes chase debut. Point/bumper winner; placed in all three hurdles; makes chase/handicap debut after layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (5/2 +25%) Knowsley Road |
5/2(+25%) | (2) Knowsley Road 5/2, Progressive over hurdles prior to a blip final start. Runner-up in an Irish point but low-key start to chasing career at Newbury on return. Should leave that form behind in due course. Useful novice hurdler last season; disappointed on chase debut but remains a good prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (33/1 -200%) Jack In The Box |
33/1(-200%) | (4) Jack In The Box 33/1, Fairly useful form over hurdles and similar form over fences for Gordon Elliott (sold for £24,000 in January). Off 11 months and headgear on 1st time. Third over fences for Gordon Elliott on Boxing Day; makes stable debut after 332-day break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
After a promising novice campaign over hurdles, including when third in the Prestige at Haydock in February, THE KING OF RYHOPE made a perfect start to his career over the larger obstacles when scoring at Chepstow. The seven-year-old should be up to overcoming a 7lb rise here and he is preferred to Jack In The Box, who is an intriguing recruit to the Bernard Llewellyn stable. Fine Casting and Knowsley Road cannot be ruled out either.
THE KING OF RYHOPE jumped well when making a winning chase bow/reappearance at Chepstow 6 weeks ago and can defy a 7 lb rise with that form proving to be rock solid. Fine Casting did well over hurdles last season and is on a workable mark if taking to chasing at the first attempt on return, so is feared most.
The most obvious answer is THE KING OF RYHOPE, who made a very good start to his chasing career at Chepstow.

1st (3) (5/1 +58%) Milldam |
5/1(+58%) | (3) Milldam 5/1, Fairly useful hurdler who opened his account on the back of a breathing operation/9 weeks off in 2m maiden at Huntingdon in March. However, he has failed to build on that in 3 subsequent starts. Has lost his way since Huntingdon maiden win in March; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (4/1 +47%) Out Of Focus |
4/1(+47%) | (8) Out Of Focus 4/1, Successful at Hereford on the second of 2 starts in bumpers and showed plenty to work on making his hurdling debut after 3 months off when second at Uttoxeter in May. Safely held both starts since but may well take a step forward now pitched into a handicap. Soundly beaten in two maidens this autumn but was placed on hurdling debut in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (11/2 -22%) Port Or Starboard |
11/2(-22%) | (9) Port Or Starboard 11/2, Fair maiden on Flat who showed a good attitude to get off the mark in this sphere at Exeter in March. Has held his form well since and no reason to think he won't be on the premises once more. Has modest strike-rate but ran well when placed off today's mark last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 -13%) John Betjeman |
9/2(-13%) | (1) John Betjeman 9/2, Bounced back quickly from a lesser run at Wincanton when second of 13 at Kempton (2m, good to soft) last month. Remains on a fair mark and this multiple C&D winner is very much one to consider with an able conditional aboard. Three-time C&D winner; returns after good second at Kempton last month; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (9/4 -50%) Grain D'oudairies |
9/4(-50%) | (2) Grain D'oudairies 9/4, Made a winning hurdles debut at Bangor last November and doubled his tally when accounting for 4 rivals in a handicap at Uttoxeter (15.8f, heavy) 24 days ago. Up just 1 lb and further improvement may be forthcoming. Nudged up only 1lb for last month's heavy-ground win and remains lightly raced; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (22/1 -10%) Max's Champ |
22/1(-10%) | (6) Max's Champ 22/1, Point winner in March 2022 and best effort under Rules when runner-up in a maiden hurdle at Hereford (19.7f, good to soft) in April. However, well held both starts switched to handicaps this season and he needs to get back on track. Soundly beaten on both starts last month and now has questions to answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (100/1 -400%) Ileny Royale |
100/1(-400%) | (5) Ileny Royale 100/1, Placed twice from 4 starts in minor events for Gabriel Leenders in France. That form is hard to quantify and only fourth between the flags last month, so the percentage call is to look elsewhere. Placed twice over hurdles in France; ran okay in a point on recent stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (25/1 -233%) Uno Mas |
25/1(-233%) | (7) Uno Mas 25/1, Five-time winner in 2021 and ability remains intact judged on what he's shown in handicap hurdles at Aintree and Uttoxeter (both at around 3m) since returning from a 19-month absence. Could have a part to play if coping with this drop back in trip. Back from long absence with two decent efforts but probably wants better ground than this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (80/1 -60%) Tiger Voice |
80/1(-60%) | (10) Tiger Voice 80/1, Winning hurdler/chaser for Henry de Bromhead in Ireland but hasn't shown much for present connections and yard saddles a more appealing candidate in Port Or Starboard. Has plummeted down the weights and been very disappointing for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (16/1 +20%) Interne De Sivola |
16/1(+20%) | (4) Interne De Sivola 16/1, Dual juvenile hurdle winner for Nick Williams during 2021/22 campaign but appears to have gone the wrong way since. Lost his way over fences last season and there has been no revival back over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GRAIN D'OUDAIRIES was all out to defeat a higher-rated rival at Uttoxeter last month but, given he was only nudged up 1lb for that narrow success, he has a live chance of following up here. The consistent John Betjeman rates as the biggest threat to the selection, with William Maggs' 7lb claim a handy asset, while the prolific Uno Mas and lightly-weighted Port Or Starboard are a couple of others to consider.
There should be more to come from the unexposed GRAIN D'OUDAIRIES, who appeared to have a bit left up his sleeve when scoring at Uttoxeter last month. He gets the nod ahead of John Betjeman, who clearly likes it round here (form figures at Ffos Las read 1312212) and a reproduction of his latest effort at Kempton would put him firmly in the picture. Out of Focus is respected now handicapping, while Port Or Starboard also enters calculations.
Nudged up only 1lb for his recent Uttoxeter success, GRAIN D'OUDAIRIES could still have quite a bit more to offer.

1st (2) (5/2 +29%) James Jet |
5/2(+29%) | (2) James Jet 5/2, Winning pointer who was progressive over hurdles, making a winning handicap bow at Uttoxeter on return last month. Should have more to offer still now going chasing. Rallied gamely to win on recent handicap hurdle debut; quickly switched to fences here. |

2nd (4) (6/1 -50%) Gazette Bourgeoise |
6/1(-50%) | (4) Gazette Bourgeoise 6/1, Scored twice over hurdles but not as good over fences last season, well held last 2 starts. Dropped to a career-low mark and back down in class at least. Off 7 months. Tongue strap on 1st time. Didn't run badly at Cheltenham in April and resumes on a tempting mark. |

3rd (5) (3/1 +67%) Inflexible |
3/1(+67%) | (5) Inflexible 3/1, Performed with credit both outings in France and fair form over hurdles so far for current stable. Let down by jumping back over fences at Warwick on comeback but return to further will suit. Ex-French 5yo; still low mileage but was well beaten on last month's British chase debut. |

4th (3) (10/1 -67%) Margaret's Legacy |
10/1(-67%) | (3) Margaret's Legacy 10/1, Fairly useful form over hurdles/fences in France but let down by jumping 3 of 4 starts for this yard, including on return. Becoming well treated at least. Placed off 3lb higher at end of last term and will find this easier than reappearance task. |

5th (7) (4/1 -45%) Boston Joe |
4/1(-45%) | (7) Boston Joe 4/1, Better than ever after 14 months off when easily winning at Wincanton despite a typically erratic round of jumping. Improved again when second here (19.4f, heavy) 3 weeks ago, clear of rest. Big shout. Followed October's convincing win with a clear second here last month; good chance. |

|PU| (8) (8/1 -78%) Frankie Faulkner |
8/1(-78%) | (8) Frankie Faulkner 8/1, Dual winner in points who got off the mark over hurdles in maiden at Newton Abbot in July. Some improvement switched to fences/handicaps since though well held here last time. Needs to bounce back. A unlucky loser at Newton Abbot in September but not in same form since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (22/1 -57%) Ballinsker |
22/1(-57%) | (1) Ballinsker 22/1, Recorded a third win over fences at Chepstow in April but well held last 2 starts after 5 months off, including back over hurdles 3 weeks ago. Cheekpieces back on. Won off 1lb higher in April but below form lately and probably wants better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (50/1 -52%) Orange Diamond |
50/1(-52%) | (6) Orange Diamond 50/1, Fairly useful handicap hurdler in France. Pulled up both starts over fences for this yard, however. Significantly up in trip. Has performed poorly in 2m handicap chases on both starts for current stable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
James Jet showed the benefit of wind surgery when getting up late to score at Uttoxeter 24 days ago and looks a big player here. However, a 9lb rise for a head success looks a little harsh and he is taken on with the potentially more progressive BOSTON JOE, who didn't jump too fluently on his last two starts but still managed a win and a resectable second-placed finish. Frankie Faulkner looks the more appealing of Evan Williams' two entrants on these terms and he could pick up the bronze medal.
BOSTON JOE is clearly an improved model this season and remains of interest having pulled clear with the winner here 3 weeks ago. Winning pointer James Jet was progressive over hurdles so is a likely threat on chase bow, while Gazette Bourgeoise and Margaret's Legacy are both becoming well handicapped.
Rebeeca Curtis's BOSTON JOE followed his emphatic Wincanton win with a big run in defeat here three weeks ago and might be the answer.
Ths is the racecard key.
