1st (4) (7/2 -27%) Jimmy Mark |
7/2(-27%) | (4) Jimmy Mark 7/2, 10/3, again ran creditably when third of 10 in handicap at Bath (10.2f, good) 19 days ago. Can give another good account. Both wins over 1m2f last year at Bath, where he's been a creditable 3rd on last two starts. |

2nd (2) (11/8 +31%) Caramay |
11/8(+31%) | (2) Caramay 11/8, Winner at Windsor in May. Seemingly undone by a small rise in the weights when fifth of 10 in handicap (9/4) at Beverley (9.9f, good to soft) 8 days ago. Not discounted back on a sounder surface. Short-head winner at Windsor (1m2f, good to firm) in May; ran respectably eight days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (150/1 -4186%) Private Bryan |
150/1(-4186%) | (3) Private Bryan 150/1, Just needed to hold his form to resume winning ways in 8-runner minor event at Kempton (11f, 11/4) 5 months ago, making all and always holding on. Has to be taken seriously on return. 20th race when off the mark in January (1m3f, AW) last time; needs to improve on turf form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (100/1 -1718%) Surfer Dude |
100/1(-1718%) | (6) Surfer Dude 100/1, 12/1 and gelded, showed a bit more than previously on first run since leaving William Muir & Chris Grassick after 9 months off when fifth of 7 on handicap debut at Bath (10.2f, good) 11 days ago, shuffled back around 2f out. Remains capable of better. More competitive on recent handicap/stable debut; may well build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (300/1 -2900%) Post Mistress |
300/1(-2900%) | (5) Post Mistress 300/1, Offered little making handicap debut when ninth of 10 at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm, 8/1) 32 days ago. Well beaten on all four starts, 8-1 for handicap debut at Windsor (11.4f, good) on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (350/1 -3400%) Sapristi |
350/1(-3400%) | (1) Sapristi 350/1, 80/1, continued to show little for current connections when tenth of 11 in claimer at Limerick (11.5f, good to firm) 2 weeks ago. Best watched. Well handicapped judged on two 2023 races; out the back this year for current yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Caramay finished a creditable fifth at Beverley last time out when attempting to follow up her Windsor triumph, and she merits respect. Jimmy Mark is likely to give another good account of himself, although a chance can be taken on SURFER DUDE. Ollie Sangster's gelding encountered traffic problems on his stable/handicap debut recently and wasn't given a hard time of things afterwards. Eased 1lb in the ratings and with that run under his belt, he could step forward.
A low-key start to proceedings and it's PRIVATE BRYAN who is selected to make a winning return to action having belatedly opened his account at Kempton when last seen 5 months ago. He can get the better of Caramay, who has taken her form up a notch this season, while the consistent Jimmy Mark completes the shortlist.
Jimmy Mark and Caramay are probably the ones most likely to figure prominently, but a chance is taken on SURFER DUDE.

11/4(+50%) | (1) Alla Stella 11/4, 11/2, promising third of 7 at Carlisle (6.9f, good) on debut 16 days ago. From a good family and she should have more to offer, especially over further. Promising third at Carlisle and she should improve for that experience; respected. |

5th (4) (300/1 -1264%) Earthy |
300/1(-1264%) | (4) Earthy 300/1, €50,000 yearling, Earthlight filly. Half-sister to several winners, including smart winner up to 7.6f Arnold Lane and useful 1¼m-2m winner Citizen General. Eighth of 12 in maiden (18/1) at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) on debut 27 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Made a low-key start at Lingfield last month and others are preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (400/1 -2757%) Camden Flyer |
400/1(-2757%) | (3) Camden Flyer 400/1, Twice-raced maiden. 4 lengths fifth of 12 to Manila Thriller in seller (16/1) at Chester (7f, good) 12 days ago. Some promise at Chester but that was a seller and she needs more improvement here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

100/1(-733%) | (2) Apulia 100/1, €50,000 yearling, Teofilo filly. Closely related to 1¾m winner Tajanis and half-sister to several winners, including 1¼m winner Tarroob and 2-y-o 6f winner Jabaara, both useful. 25/1, fifth of 7 at Carlisle (6.9f, good) on debut 16 days ago, slowly away. Never involved on Carlisle debut (25-1) and was behind Alla Stella in that race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (450/1 -1700%) Stormy Lady |
450/1(-1700%) | (8) Stormy Lady 450/1, Foaled March 9. Planteur filly. Dam 11.6f/1½m winner who stayed 1¾m. Looks a longer-term prospect on pedigree and is probably watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (125/1 -1686%) Thine Be The Glory |
125/1(-1686%) | (7) Thine Be The Glory 125/1, Foaled March 1. €60,000 yearling, Showcasing filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including useful 2-y-o 6f/7f winner Huboor and 7f-9f winner Buoyant. Trainer’s newcomers command respect. 60,000euros yearling; has speed and stamina in pedigree and market should guide on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Enigmatic Princess (second) and Loch Leven (fourth) met at Haydock on their respective debuts and both look set to improve, along with Dollyana, whose two efforts over 6f would suggest she'll be involved now stepped up in distance. Manila Thriller landed a seller at Chester earlier this month and is also considered, but ALLA STELLA shades preference. Third to a winner who was subsequently sixth in the Chesham at Royal Ascot on her racecourse bow, that is arguably the best piece of form on offer and her yard have been among the winners of late.
MANILA THRILLER looked all stamina when edging ahead late in a Chester seller recently, and, unpenalised for that, she has good claims back in a winnable fillies' novice. Enigmatic Princess is a likely improver after her good second at Haydock, while Thine Be The Glory is an interesting newcomer for Archie Watson.
An interesting race in which ENIGMATIC PRINCESS gets the vote ahead of Alla Stella and recent Chester winner Manila Thrilla.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Better was expected from JAX EDGE at Goodwood last time out, but it was over before it started for Christopher Mason's filly as she got worked up in the preliminaries. However, a 2lb ease in the ratings means that she is back on her last winning mark and the daughter of Cable Bay could bounce back. Silent Flame (sixth) is another to come out of that Goodwood contest and Rod Millman's charge is attractively handicapped herself. Aces Wild is another to consider.
It could be worth chancing SILENT FLAME who is on a very good mark for an in-form yard and won on her only other visit to Ffos Las. Aces Wild and The Cola Kid are a couple of others to consider in an open contest.
It could pay to take a chance on the well-handicapped HALLOWED TIME bouncing back to form for a doubly represented Mark Loughnane.

1st (2) (85/40 +76%) Mullins Beach |
85/40(+76%) | (2) Mullins Beach 85/40, Prominent in the betting but lit up after being hampered at the start when sixth of 9 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, good to firm) 15 days ago. Maiden (0-13); regularly placed (5f-7f); hasn't been at his best in three runs this year.. |

2nd (4) (5/1 -50%) Carmarthen |
5/1(-50%) | (4) Carmarthen 5/1, Left 2-y-o form behind when excellent 2½ lengths third of 9 to Piper's Fort in handicap at Yarmouth (6f, soft) 13 days ago. Cheekpieces on first time and weighted to finish closer to that rival this time. Improvement when third to Piper's Fort at Yarmouth (6f; handicap debut) a fortnight ago.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (8/1 -100%) Doha Bu Thaila |
8/1(-100%) | (1) Doha Bu Thaila 8/1, Cheekpieces on for first time, excellent third of 9 in handicap (11/1) at Yarmouth (7f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Way she shaped there suggests drop to 6f will be in her favour. Placed on handicap debut at Yarmouth (7f, soft; first-time cheekpieces) a fortnight ago.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (100/1 -2400%) Outer Edge |
100/1(-2400%) | (6) Outer Edge 100/1, Cheekpieces on for first time, very good second of 12 in handicap (13/2) at Lingfield (6f, good to firm) 27 days ago, though he didn't look totally straightforward. Maiden (0-6); much better when runner-up in newly applied cheekpieces at Lingfield (6f).. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (40/1 -1355%) Piper's Fort |
40/1(-1355%) | (3) Piper's Fort 40/1, Career best when decisive winner of 9-runner handicap (12/1) at Yarmouth (6f, soft) 13 days ago with headgear removed. Expected to be bang there up 6 lb. Off the mark at Yarmouth (6f, soft) latest; slightly more required from a 6lb higher mark.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (200/1 -3536%) Monkey Miss |
200/1(-3536%) | (5) Monkey Miss 200/1, Winner at Bath in May. Fourth of 7 in handicap (6/1) at Brighton (6f, good) 19 days ago, slowly away. Bath winner (5.5f) early last month; hasn't recaptured that form in two subsequent starts.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Piper's Fort won on soft going at Yarmouth but has been raised 6lb for that success, and third-placed CARMARTHEN is fancied to take advantage reopposing on more favourable terms. The latter has a couple of lengths to find, but has plenty of scope for improvement on only her second start in a handicap. Both Outer Edge and Doha Bu Thaila improved for the application of cheekpieces last time, with the former preferred on his second over this distance on turf at Lingfield.
DOHA BU THAILA's handicap debut was full of promise, particularly with a view to dropping back to 6f, so she's marginally preferred to Piper's Fort, who was a ready winner a fortnight ago. Carmarthen is another to consider with cheekpieces on for the first time.
Cheekpieces appeared to suit OUTER EDGE at Lingfield, and he's in exactly the right type of race to make his presence felt.

5th (4) (66/1 -164%) Gianh River |
66/1(-164%) | (4) Gianh River 66/1, Twelfth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (7f, 125/1) 75 days ago. First run for yard after leaving L. Smyth. Visored for 1st time. Eight-race maiden; no worthwhile form; visored on first start for Thomas Dowling.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
DAPPLED LIGHT has been threatening to get his head back in front in handicaps, with his latest second coming over C&D on Saturday. The drop into this grade provides a good opportunity to go one better, and he can confirm earlier running at Chepstow with Romanovich. The latter finished third on that occasion and should be in the mix once again, while Tomorrow Day may prove best of the remainder returning to a mile.
DAPPLED LIGHT is in good form and can land a first success in Britain. Romanovich might be the danger.
Adrian Wintle's DAPPLED LIGHT has been threatening, so receives the vote over Monday's Chepstow second Fact Or Fable.

350/1(-2817%) | (5) South Kensington 350/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, seventh of 8 in handicap (11/1) at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 46 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Needs a couple of these to falter. Went close at Wolverhampton in November (7f); poor Lingfield comeback run; headgear switch. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CURRUMBIN travels over from Ireland with a leading chance judged on last month's second at Killarney, where he was beaten only a neck on his handicap debut. He finished well clear of the rest of the field and can go one better in this. Devious Devan was no match for the odds-on favourite when runner-up in a maiden at Nottingham, but improvement is expected now handicapping, while God Bless America is another likely to go well on his handicap bow. Lady Flora may finish closer over this extra distance and makes most appeal of the rest.
Irish raider CURRUMBIN took a significant step forward when a clear second on his handicap/turf debut at Killarney last month and he is taken to go one better here. Lady Flora didn't do much wrong over 7f at Sandown recently and looks a big threat now upped to a mile. It's probably best to forgive Calm Waters for what was ultimately a below-par effort at Windsor (race may have come too soon) and she is also accorded respect.
The fascinating one is the Irish raider CURRUMBIN (nap) who lost out narrowly on handicap debut at Killarney.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
