20/1(+60%) | (7) Final Flutter 20/1, 22/1, fourth of 12 in novice hurdle at Sligo (20.3f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Has shown some ability but may need to obtain a handicap mark, first time with tongue-tie. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
COOL PARK has been placed on both hurdle starts this year and beat all bar the odds-on Savante over this trip at Tramore last time. The daughter of Walk In The Park has scope for further improvement and gets the vote here at the main expense of Fillusin. Gordon Elliott's charge won a bumper at Tramore earlier this year and has also been placed on both her hurdle starts including behind the progressive Sansrisk over 2m here last month. Amboyna also gained a bumper win at Tramore and is another to consider on her hurdling debut while Beautiful Chaos, Party Dress and point-to-point winner Mayo Shirocco are others to note.
COOL PARK needs to settle down but has essentially made an encouraging start over hurdles and can strike here. Fillusin looks the danger, with Amboyna and recent point winner Mayo Shirocco completing the shortlist.
This longer trip should help to bring out the best in FILLUSIN who chased home the two market leaders over 2m at Galway last month

10/1(-25%) | (9) Arabian King 10/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. Respectable fourth of 10 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at this course (24f, good) 36 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Not taken lightly. Didn't look to quite stay when fourth over C&D last month but that was encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -25%) Rodney Bay |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Rodney Bay 20/1, Tenth of 13 in handicap hurdle (25/1) at this course (16f, good) 31 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Dual-purpose 7yo is 1-19 hurdling, recent run here (2m) was poor; big step up in trip now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (8/1 +0%) Cougar |
8/1(+0%) | (3) Cougar 8/1, Creditable sixth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (22.8f, good, 12/1) 28 days ago. One for the shortlist. Recent Punchestown effort at this trip suggests he's worth persevering with. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (14) (33/1 +34%) A Year Older |
33/1(+34%) | (14) A Year Older 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1, twelfth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (19.4f, good to soft) 23 days ago. Up in trip. Hard to make a case for unless step up in trip brings about serious improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (7/1 -17%) Folly Beach |
7/1(-17%) | (6) Folly Beach 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden over hurdles. 13/2, shaped well when fourth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (22.8f, good) 28 days ago. Big player off the same mark. Recent handicap runs over further not without promise so one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (100/1 -100%) Mon Storm |
100/1(-100%) | (13) Mon Storm 100/1, Eleventh of 13 in handicap hurdle (50/1) at Down Royal (24.1f, good to soft) 11 days ago. Mark plummeting but veteran needs to show more before becoming a betting proposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (3/1 +57%) Workforadime |
3/1(+57%) | (11) Workforadime 3/1, Remains a maiden after 18 NH runs. 10/1, respectable seventh of 14 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, good to soft) 9 days ago, needing stiffer test. Enters calculations. Needs to improve on recent efforts and may want softer ground. |

12/1(-50%) | (5) Fathom Two 12/1, 66/1, creditable fifth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (20f, soft) 47 days ago. Considered. Encouraging Listowel comeback run, staying on well over 2m4f; step up in trip could suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (25/1 -25%) Quite Incredible |
25/1(-25%) | (8) Quite Incredible 25/1, Winner in hurdle at Downpatrick in May. 12/1 and visored for 1st time, last of 9 in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (21.8f, good) 78 days ago. Disappointing since Downpatrick win in May; may want it softer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FOLLY BEACH won a 1m7f handicap on the Flat last year and the dual-purpose mare has been generally consistent under both codes since. She had Cougar six lengths behind when fourth to Slieve Carran over an extended 2m6f at Punchestown last time. Goodie Girl overcame a year's absence when successful over 2m2f here last month and rates a threat having also shown decent form over further last year. Fathom Two was soundly beaten over fences this season but gave some encouragement last time when staying on well in a 2m4f Listowel hurdle, while Lightkeeper won a maiden at the Galway Festival but needs to bounce back after disappointing subsequently at Tramore.
Lots with chances but FOLLY BEACH has gone with some promise of late and is able to race off the same mark as when fourth in a big-field Punchestown handicap last time out so gets the vote. Workforadime should benefit from this step up in trip and heads the list of dangers, with Warmer Days Ahead, Goodie Girl and Arabian King all in the picture too.
Having returned from a break in fine form here last month, GOODIE GIRL can back up that win now upped in trip off an 8lb higher mark

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (6/5 +66%) Will Do |

9/1(+59%) | (5) The Lovely Man 9/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 11/2, fourth of 6 in novice chase at Wexford (19.7f, heavy) on debut over fences 16 days ago. Open to progress. Some chase debut promise at Wetherby recently; hard to see him playing major role though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11/2(+61%) | (2) Mister Beeton 11/2, Fairly useful chaser. Third of 4 in novice chase at this course (24.6f, good, 20/1) on debut over fences 7 days ago, flattered by proximity. Last week's chase debut third here (3m) encouraging; place claims again. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
STELLAR STORY was a smart staying novice hurdler last season and is an exciting recruit to fences. The point-to-point winner was placed twice in Grade 2 company including over this trip before enjoying his finest hour to date when recording a 33/1 surprise in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Gordon Elliott also saddles Will Do who won twice in staying hurdles last year and has been placed on both chase starts over 2m2f at Galway this term. Native Speaker also enjoyed a test of stamina over hurdles winning a 3m1f Kilbeggan maiden this summer, but the point winner disappointed when switched to fences at Sligo last time.
Gordon Elliott introduced Gerri Colombe to fences in this race 2 years ago and Albert Bartlett winner STELLAR STORY also has the potential to go to the top over the larger obstacles. The same connections' Will Do is the obvious one to follow him home.
Hard to look beyond Albert Bartlett winner STELLAR STORY, a brother to the yard's very smart chaser The Storyteller

5/2(-25%) | (5) General Hubble 5/2, 9/2, good ½-length second of 10 to Mullaghmore Wave in handicap chase at this course (24.6f, good) 7 days ago, finishing strongly. Another bold show likely. Second to Mullaghmore Wave last week, 6lb out of the handicap and is 4lb worse off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/1 +10%) Toofareastiswest |
9/1(+10%) | (1) Toofareastiswest 9/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, pulled up in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, heavy, 9/1) 16 days ago. Flopped at Galway last time, stays well and Jack Hendrick's claim is an asset. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (4/1 +43%) Definiteadare |
4/1(+43%) | (6) Definiteadare 4/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 7/1, respectable 5¼ lengths fourth of 10 to Mullaghmore Wave in handicap chase at this course (24.6f, good) 7 days ago, finishing with running left. Showed signs of a return to form with last week's C&D fourth, 8lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/4 -47%) Mullaghmore Wave |
11/4(-47%) | (3) Mullaghmore Wave 11/4, 11/2, career best when winning 10-runner handicap chase at this course (24.6f, good) 7 days ago by ½ length from General Hubble, all out. Should give another good account. Battled well to beat General Hubble here last week, weighted to uphold the form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/2 +36%) Tullyveery Lad |
7/2(+36%) | (2) Tullyveery Lad 7/2, 3 wins from 11 runs this season. Sixth of 8 in handicap hurdle (2/1) at Clonmel (24f, good to soft) 5 days ago, finding little. Switches from hurdles to chase Last three runs have been over hurdles, 6lb higher than for Downpatrick chase win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (10/1 -33%) Coole Arcade |
10/1(-33%) | (4) Coole Arcade 10/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. 14/1, creditable fourth of 13 in handicap chase at Clonmel (17.2f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Significantly up in trip. In fair form lately but over much shorter trips than this, stamina may be stretched here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The C&D victory of MULLAGHMORE WAVE last week looks a key piece of form with two of his rivals on that occasion again in opposition. The John McConnell-trained gelding was placed twice in similar events at Downpatrick this autumn and was probably value for a bit more than the winning margin last time after appearing to idle in front. He meets runner-up General Hubble, who is 6lb out of the handicap proper, on slightly better terms and the booking of Derek O'Connor adds to confidence. Definiteadare was beaten about five lengths in fourth but didn't enjoy the clearest of passages in the straight. Tullyveery Lad won his latest chase start at Downpatrick while Toofareastiswest was probably unsuited by soft ground at Galway last time.
GENERAL HUBBLE finished strongly when beaten a ½ length by Mullaghmore Wave here last Monday and is taken to turn the tables on John McConnell's charge on the revised terms.
Derek O'Connor's mount MULLAGHmORE WAVE has a good chance of upholding last week's form with General Hubble on these terms.

2nd (1) (15/2 -15%) Ask D'man |
15/2(-15%) | (1) Ask D'man 15/2, Fairly useful chaser. 40/1, seventh of 10 in hunter chase at Down Royal (24f, soft). Off 10 months. Others more persuasive. Lightly raced since fine Stratford win in May 2022, beaten by Er Dancer in a point in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (6/1 -20%) Dento Des Obeaux |
6/1(-20%) | (3) Dento Des Obeaux 6/1, Fairly useful chaser. 7/1, pulled up in hunter chase at Downpatrick (28.7f, good to soft). Multiple winning pointer, third last time (Oct 27). Has the ability to play a part. Showed good form on the track two seasons ago, recent third in a point was encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (4/1 -45%) Dromleigh |
4/1(-45%) | (5) Dromleigh 4/1, Fair chaser. 11/8, fell in hunter chase at Tramore (21.8f, good) 6 months ago. Had been competing in similar events prior to that and is worthy of respect on reappearance. Lightly raced maiden hunter chaser who had fair placed form last season, fell final start. |

|F| (2) (3/1 -85%) Ballyphilip |
3/1(-85%) | (2) Ballyphilip 3/1, Won 12-runner hunter chase at Down Royal (23.2f, good to soft, 9/2) on debut over fences 6 months ago. Won all 4 points in 2024 and looks the one to beat. Won five points before hunter chase win at Down Royal in May, progressive youngster. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (9/4 +44%) Er Dancer |
9/4(+44%) | (4) Er Dancer 9/4, Fair chaser. Course winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2020. Creditable fifth of 15 in handicap chase (25/1) at Wexford (25.3f, good to soft) 97 days ago. Multiple point winner, including last time (Oct 27) Beat the useful Born To The Sea at Tinahely last month, race-fitness should be an asset. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BALLYPHILIP clocked up five consecutive point-to-point victories before delivering in a hunters chase at Down Royal in May. He has a good chance of bringing the seven up as this drying ground won't inconvenience him. Dromleigh has to be respected in receipt of 12lb from Ballyphilip. He is another returning to the fray and wasn't beaten in third when falling at the penultimate fence in a Tramore hunters chase in April. The 10-year-old Ask D' Man certainly knows where the winning post is and has given good service to David Christie. Dento Des Obeaux was good enough to finish sixth in the Foxhunters at Aintree in April last year. He has been off since pulling up at Downpatrick the following month, though.
BALLYPHILIP won a Down Royal hunter when last seen under Rules and has been excellent in points, so he's marginally preferred to Dromleigh who produced several good efforts in hunters last season. Dento Des Obeaux is another one to consider.
Despite a modest strike rate over racecourse fences, ER DANCER has plenty going for him including race-fitness.

Needs a couple of these to falter. Both wins have been over an extended 3m, game display at Clonmel on her penultimate start. |

|U| (10) (20/1 +39%) Falak |
20/1(+39%) | (10) Falak 20/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2019. Good seventh of 13 in handicap hurdle (66/1) at Down Royal (24.1f, good to soft) 11 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Six-time winner including twice over hurdles; very hard to fancy on 2024 form, visored now. |

10th (11) (8/1 -60%) Walk In Time |
8/1(-60%) | (11) Walk In Time 8/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, good second of 20 in handicap hurdle (22/1) at Galway (24f, good to soft) 17 days ago, running on. Not taken lightly. Returned from a short break in good form with second over 3m at Galway, likely contender. |

11th (2) (14/1 -65%) Useta Lover |
14/1(-65%) | (2) Useta Lover 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 14 in novice hurdle at this course (20.5f, good, 16/1) 36 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut and improvement may be forthcoming. Relatively unexposed having run in only three maidens, plenty of weight for handicap debut. |

12th (3) (25/1 -127%) Vroomvroomboo |
25/1(-127%) | (3) Vroomvroomboo 25/1, 50/1, very good sixth of 14 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Beaten around 20l on her two most recent starts in maidens, opening mark seems a bit high. |

13th (7) (28/1 +15%) Politicise |
28/1(+15%) | (7) Politicise 28/1, Latest win in chase at Down Royal in April. 18/1, fifteenth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (24f, good to soft) 23 days ago. Well beaten over hurdles and on Flat since a handicap chase win at Down Royal in April. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WALK IN TIME has been lightly raced this year, but signalled a return to form in second at Galway last month (in a first-time tongue-strap which is retained). This trip is probably as short as she wants, but this isn't a deep race by any means. Nells Choice put in her best performance to date when runner-up in a Limerick maiden hurdle in October, so ought to be a contender on the back of that run. Tomas O Maille is a long-standing maiden, but has been placed in his last two handicap chases and has a shot reverting to hurdling. Stellar Symphony is capable of banking a cheque, while Stowaway Lass could have a say.
USETA LOVER appears to have been brought along with handicaps in mind and, now pitched into one off a realistic-looking opening mark, he will be of strong interest if the market vibes are upbeat. Stowaway Lass is second choice ahead of Walk In Time, while Nells Choice, Oogum Boogum and Tomas O Maille are others to consider.
The vote goes to NELLS CHOICE who ran her best race so far when second at Limerick last time. An obvious danger is Walk In Time

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Gordon Elliott has landed the last two renewals of this race and AMERICAN JUKEBOX, who is a half-brother to the stable's smart American Mike, is one to take seriously on track debut. He ran well for a long way before finishing runner-up in his sole point-to-point in May for Donnchadh Doyle. Willie Mullins supplies Full Confession who won his point-to-point by a head in April for Michael Ryan. He is a significant threat. Pat Doyle introduces Walk In The Park gelding Trasna Na Pairce who is related to plenty of winners, so he is well worth a market check.
FULL CONDESSION and American Juke represent top stables and are fancied to dominate this contest, with the former preferred based on his speedier pedigree. Trasna Na Pairce is another one to consider.
AMERICAN JUKEBOX, a half-brother to American Mike, gets the nod over the Mullins' runner Full Confession
Ths is the racecard key.
