The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THEATRE NATIVE proved bitterly disappointing (blowing hard post-race) on her hurdling debut at Clonmel in November, but is given another chance to prove that running was all wrong. The well-bred daughter of Getaway was set to easily win her only point-to-point start for Donnchadh Doyle when falling at the last, and was far from disgraced when fourth in a Listed bumper here last Easter. Galway bumper winner Mi Lucky Cailin beat all bar the useful Only By Night in a 17-runner Naas maiden last time, while others to consider include Ballycallan King and On Lovers Walk. Cottesloe Sunshine is a newcomer to note in the market, while Arch Hall and Theflyingbee have also shown ability.
ARCH HALL made an encouraging start to his career when third over C&D 17 days ago and seems likely to build on that, so there's good reason to believe he'll be right in the thick of the action at the business end. Theatre Native stopped quickly on her hurdling debut at Clonmel back in November but was said to be blowing post-race and retains potential, while Mi Lucky Calin has improved with each run over hurdles so far and must enter calculations, too.
despite two runs below expectations, it might be woth giving another chance to THEATRE NATIVE. This could be an ideal opportunity

1st (4) (12/1 -20%) San Guido |
12/1(-20%) | (4) San Guido 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 22/1, only eighth of 16 in juvenile at Naas (15.5f, soft) 27 days ago but still rates a possible improver now handicapping in first-time blinkers. Handicapper has not taken many chances with him but could be capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/8 +61%) In The Trenches |
11/8(+61%) | (3) In The Trenches 11/8, Lightly-raced maiden. Excellent second of 7 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy, 15/2) 25 days ago. Stable in good form. Big player. Good second at Limerick last month; going the right way and can play a hand here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 -56%) Toll Stone |
7/2(-56%) | (1) Toll Stone 7/2, Won 13-runner C&D juvenile (heavy, 9/1) 17 days ago by short head from Roboreti. Stable in good form. Makes handicap debut. Sure to go well. 2lb worse off with Roboreti but might just have more scope for improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (4/1 -78%) Roboreti |
4/1(-78%) | (2) Roboreti 4/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 12/1, excellent short-head second of 13 to Toll Stone in C&D juvenile (heavy) 17 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Blinkers tried here and unlikely to be much between him and Toll Stone once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (11/2 +66%) Noble Hilltop |
11/2(+66%) | (6) Noble Hilltop 11/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 16/1 and blinkered for 1st time, creditable 24 lengths sixth of 13 to Toll Stone in juvenile hurdle at this C&D (heavy) 17 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Improvement required. Well behind Toll Stone and Roboreti here earlier this month; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (20/1 -300%) Hey Whatever |
20/1(-300%) | (5) Hey Whatever 20/1, Fair maiden on the Flat. Thrice-raced maiden over hurdles. 7/2, third of 7 in C&D novice (heavy) 17 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Open to improvement. Unable to repeat debut effort in two runs since but interesting in her first handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
TOLL STONE and Roboreti were only separated by a short head when fighting out the finish of a maiden over C&D earlier this month. There shouldn't be much between the pair again but slight preference is given to the Emmet Mullins-trained gelding, who has progressed with each outing over hurdles. In The Trenches has finished behind the selection on a couple of occasions and put in a creditable effort in his first handicap hurdle when runner-up to Mount Frisco at Limerick last month. San Guido appears one of his yard's lesser lights and is now tried in blinkers, while Roboreti's stablemate Hey Whatever has been placed both on the Flat and over hurdles and can't be discounted at the weights.
In a tight-looking 4-y-o handicap the suggestion is IN THE TRENCHES, who took a step forward when runner-up on his Limerick handicap debut last month. Last-time-out C&D juvenile 1-2 Toll Stone and Roboreti may give him most to do.
The one to be on could be IN THE TRENCHES, who has progressed gradually and has a big chance on his recent Limerick run

9/2(-100%) | (6) Slanagaibhgoleir 9/2, Promising individual. 3/1, career best when winning 10-runner novice hurdle at Punchestown (22.9f, soft) 40 days ago, battling well. Makes handicap hurdle debut and he's armed with potential. Suited by a good gallop over this shorter trip a definite contender in his first handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (16/5 +68%) Talk In The Park |
16/5(+68%) | (11) Talk In The Park 16/5, 5/2, below form fourth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Navan (20f, heavy) 35 days ago. Looks vulnerable for win purposes. Some decent efforts in defeat for Mags Mullins but tended not to find much for pressure. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (9) (5/2 +58%) Glen Kiln |
5/2(+58%) | (9) Glen Kiln 5/2, Career best when winning 9-runner novice hurdle at Naas (19.1f, heavy, 5/4) 14 days ago, responding well. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Enters calculations. Naas winner; consistent gelding and likely to be thereabouts if he runs his race again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (10/1 +0%) Your Honor |
10/1(+0%) | (7) Your Honor 10/1, Ninth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Musselburgh (15.6f, good to soft, 22/1) 21 days ago, better placed than most. Significantly up in trip. Others more persuasive. Decisive winner of an admittedly weak Listed handicap at Limerick in December; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/2 -38%) Kilbree Warrior |
11/2(-38%) | (8) Kilbree Warrior 11/2, C&D winner. 28/1, second of 11 in handicap hurdle at Navan (20f, heavy) 35 days ago, having benefit of enterprising ride. Solid chance. Very effective front-runner on her day; has won around here and a dangerous to give a lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (25/1 -317%) Dunvegan |
25/1(-317%) | (1) Dunvegan 25/1, 12½ lengths fourth of 5 to Gentleman De Mee in Dublin Chase at Leopardstown (17f, good to soft, 20/1). Off 12 months. Switches from chase to hurdles and up in trip for his handicap debut in this sphere. Good 2m chaser; 19lb lower over hurdles and has to be respected, but big absence a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (25/1 -56%) Bois De Clamart |
25/1(-56%) | (3) Bois De Clamart 25/1, 22/1, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (19.1f, heavy) 55 days ago. Likely to find one or two too good once again. Soundly beaten at Punchestown in December when last seen; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (33/1 -65%) Carrig Sam |
33/1(-65%) | (4) Carrig Sam 33/1, Course winner. Switches from chase to hurdles. First run for yard after leaving Gavin Patrick Cromwell. Bit to prove at present. Won two out of three over hurdles in 2022; first run for Peter Croke; could be of interest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KILBREE WARRIOR returned to form over this trip at Navan last month, adopting his normal front-running tactics and was only pegged back on the run-in by Harvard Guy, with Talk In The Park well behind in fourth. The point-to-point winner has gained both handicap hurdle wins at this venue and remains on a competitive mark. Your Honour made all to score at the Limerick Christmas meeting. Glen Kiln also won from the front in a 2m3f Naas maiden last time, and the long-time absent Dunvegan is another pace angle but none of the trio are likely to press the selection up front. Slanagaibhgoleir overcame a bad mistake at the last when opening his account in a 2m7f maiden at Punchestown last month and, with proven stamina, should be favoured by a strong pace, although his jumping needs to improve.
There's room for improvement in SLANAGAIBHGOLEIR's jumping but he's pretty promising otherwise and is taken to build on his Punchestown maiden success by following up on this handicap debut. Kilbree Warrior put in a fine shift in a Navan listed contest last time and a reproduction of that would put him firmly in the picture. Glen Kiln appears to be going the right way and he is also shortlisted.
The vote goes to first-time handicapper SLANAGOIBHGOLEIR, who is dropping back in trip but should appreciate the likely generous pace

5/4(+0%) | (3) Jouster 5/4, Promising sort. Fell 2 out in handicap hurdle (10/1) at this course (20f, heavy) 31 days ago when yet to be asked for effort. Expected to be bang there nudged up only 2 lb. Up 2lb but could be going very much the right way and could be hard to beat. |

2nd (4) (9/1 +36%) Solly Attwell |
9/1(+36%) | (4) Solly Attwell 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 200/1, twentieth of 24 in novice hurdle at this course (16f, soft) 84 days ago. Up in trip. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Should progress. With a shrewd young trainer and could well do much better in handicaps; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (13/2 +46%) Danny The Fence |
13/2(+46%) | (2) Danny The Fence 13/2, Course winner. Winner in hurdle here in November. Pulled up in handicap hurdle (15/2) at Catterick (25.3f, soft) 22 days ago, struggling quickly. Needs a couple of these to falter. Up 9lb for November win and has been unable to cut any ice since; others preferred. |

4th (9) (12/1 -140%) Chosen Shant |
12/1(-140%) | (9) Chosen Shant 12/1, 8/1, creditable fourth of 21 in handicap hurdle at Naas (16f, soft) 43 days ago. Back up in trip. Can give a good account. Ran to a good level in a pair of Naas handicap hurdles; should be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (17/2 +29%) Arthor |
17/2(+29%) | (6) Arthor 17/2, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (23f, heavy, 11/2) 26 days ago. Booking of O'Keeffe a plus but others are still more persuasive. Poor run at Punchestown last time and others preferred; cheekpieces retained. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (20/1 -25%) Perfect Arch |
20/1(-25%) | (10) Perfect Arch 20/1, Remains a maiden after 19 NH runs. Eighth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Down Royal (17.2f, heavy, 12/1) 32 days ago. Back up in trip. Cheekpieces back on with more needed. 33-race maiden with a few placed efforts to his credit; needs to find more to be a factor. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (11/1 +21%) Yabo |
11/1(+21%) | (1) Yabo 11/1, Fair winner at 20f in chases. Eleventh of 13 in handicap hurdle (16/1) at Punchestown (22.9f, soft) 40 days ago. Hooded for 1st time. Hooded here and should come on for his Punchestown run but others more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (28/1 -75%) Ventnor |
28/1(-75%) | (11) Ventnor 28/1, Remains a maiden after 23 NH runs. Below form seventh of 14 in handicap hurdle (11/1) at Cork (16f, heavy) 90 days ago. Up in trip. 30-race maiden; not disgraced at Cork in November when last seen but more needed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JOUSTER could pick up compensation after falling on his latest start over a similar trip at this track. He made stealthy progress and travelled well to close in fourth at the penultimate flight where he departed. Arthor didn't appear to stay over further in Punchestown, but his never-nearer fifth on his penultimate start in Limerick gives him prospects. Yabo was too keen in Punchestown, but is an interesting front-runner with a hood fitted. She is the highest-rated horse in the field and Conor Stone-Walsh takes 5lb off her back. Danny The Fence has disappointed recently but his sole victory came at this track, while Quornofamonday was in decent form before a below-par run at Punchestown. Chosen Shant's fourth in a big field at Naas wasn't a bad effort, although she does seem to prefer better ground.
Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and this looks a very good opportunity for JOUSTER to bounce back from a late fall here last time out when still going strongly and open his account. Both Quornofamonday and Chosen Shant are weighted to have a say and can chase home Gavin Cromwell's improving maiden in that order.
Preference is for JOUSTER(nap), who was poised to challenge when falling here last time and could get compensation

1st (1) (Evens +33%) I Am Maximus |
Evens(+33%) | (1) I Am Maximus Evens, Very smart chaser. 1 win from 3 runs this season. 14/1, 17½ lengths third of 4 to Galopin Des Champs in Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown (24.3f, soft) 21 days ago. Solid claims dropping back in grade. Has to give weight all round but these calmer waters might bring out the best in him again. |

2nd (4) (7/2 -100%) Vanillier |
7/2(-100%) | (4) Vanillier 7/2, Very smart chaser. Twelve runs since last win in 2021. 50/1, below form fifteenth of 25 in handicap chase at Leopardstown (21.5f, soft) 20 days ago. Returns to a more suitable trip and looks a big player. Comes here in similar form this year and a big run can be expected en route to Aintree. |

3rd (3) (9/4 +18%) Minella Crooner |
9/4(+18%) | (3) Minella Crooner 9/4, Useful chaser. Course winner. 1 win from 3 runs this season. Good 1½ lengths third of 6 to Jungle Boogie in New Year's Day Chase (14/1) at Tramore (22.8f, heavy) 54 days ago. Not discounted for all that he has a bit to find. Career best when a close third in a Tramore Grade 3 last month; has to be taken seriously. |

4th (2) (20/1 -25%) Fury Road |
20/1(-25%) | (2) Fury Road 20/1, Tenth of 13 in handicap chase at Cheltenham (29.2f, good to soft, 18/1) 71 days ago. Not the force of old and hard to make a case for. Well below his best for some time including in a cross-country at Cheltenham in December. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
I AM MAXIMUS has been successful on his last two visits to Fairyhouse, including in the Irish Grand National last April, and is taken to come out on top in this fascinating contest. The form of his Grade 1 Drinmore success at this track in December has been very well franked by the runner-up. I Am Maximus has faced tough tasks behind the ante-post favourite for the Gold Cup in his last couple of starts at Leopardstown, but his undoubted stamina can come into play here. All roads lead back to Aintree for Vanillier, who was a very creditable runner-up in last year's Grand National. He is rated 7lb inferior to I Am Maximus, yet receives 12lb from him under the terms of this race so is entitled to be on the premises. Minella Crooner actually pipped I Am Maximus by a short head in a beginners chase here in December 2022. He wasn't beaten far into third in a Grade 3 at Tramore in January and is not to be underestimated, despite being disadvantaged at the weights.
VANILLIER has the best form and returns to a suitable distance now, so he takes marginal preference over I AM MAXIMUS, who drops back into calmer waters. Minella Crooner is another definite player.
Irish National and Drinmore winner I AM MAXIMUS will take beating with no Galopin Des Champs to contend with here

This could set up well for GOOD TIME JONNY. He likes to be ridden patiently and is a talented stayer who could be produced to deliver in the latter stages of this small-field race. Intense Raffles won three times in his native France and put in a sparkling Irish debut when making all in a rated novice chase over a shorter trip at this track last month. That form received a massive boost when the runner-up came out and won a staying assignment by 16 lengths. This is a new trip for Intense Raffles, but he will likely get to dictate his own pace. Brampton Belle gets first-time cheekpieces, which could eke out a bit more from her. Her best performance over fences came on her penultimate start when third in Galway.
INTENSE RAFFLES has had his recent victory here boosted and he's likely to follow up at the possible expense of Good Time Jonny who shaped with encouragement at Leopardstown last time and remains with scope based on hurdling form. Brampton Belle is another player.
It is hard to overlook the claims of INTENSE RAFFLES after his easy win in a novice chase here last month that has worked out very well

1st (5) (3/1 -9%) Sporting Glory |
3/1(-9%) | (5) Sporting Glory 3/1, Twice-raced maiden. 22/1, second of 5 in bumper at this C&D (soft) 42 days ago. Has the best bumper form but looks vulnerable. Second to a highly-touted Elliott newcomer here last month; sets the form standard. |

2nd (4) (7/2 +46%) Sky Lord |
7/2(+46%) | (4) Sky Lord 7/2, Once-raced maiden. 11/2, ninth of 12 in bumper at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft) on NH debut 60 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Peter Fahey. Yard having good spell. Debuts for Henry de Bromhead here; likely that more was expected last time; could improve. |

3rd (2) (8/11 +0%) Jersey Des Brosses |
8/11(+0%) | (2) Jersey Des Brosses 8/11, £370,000 4-y-o, No Risk At All gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful French hurdler/chaser Ave Cesare. Runner-up sole start in points (Feb 2023). Beaten a length in a point-to-point at Oldtown a year ago by Jingko Blue; major contender. |

4th (1) (25/1 +50%) Comeonarchie |

5th (3) (33/1 +67%) Nelson Eddie |
33/1(+67%) | (3) Nelson Eddie 33/1, Mount Nelson gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to very smart hurdler (winner around 2m) Shadow Leader. Dam unraced half-sister to Shadow Leader; best watched on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JERSEY DES BROSSES ran a lovely race in his sole point-to-point when a clear second, beaten by a length. The horse that beat him has since won twice over hurdles in Britain and features in the betting for a couple of Grade 1 contests at the Cheltenham Festival. Jersey Des Brosses made 370,000gns at the sales after that point-to-point run, which underlines the potential he has. His trainer Gordon Elliott has landed four of the last seven renewals of this race. Sporting Glory has come home second in both his bumpers. He was beaten a fair way at Down Royal, but got much closer over C&D last month so he is going the right way. Sky Lord is a nicely-bred sort who was only 11/2 for a bumper at Leopardstown over Christmas, but finished unplaced on debut. He has moved to Henry de Bromhead and should come on plenty from that run.
JERSEY DES BROSSES cost a fortune after finishing second in a point and he's fully exposed to make a successful start under Rules in a weak-looking bumper. Sporting Glory is the likeliest to capitalise if the selection underperforms.
The Gordon Elliott-trained JERSEY DES BROSSES looks the one to beat with his point-to-point effort looking very smart
Ths is the racecard key.
