10/11(-48%) | (1) Aurora Vega 10/11, Fantastically bred very useful bumper winner who easily landed the odds in 17-runner novice hurdle at Cork (17f, good to soft) on return. 1/10, amiss (clinically abnormal) at Wexford (20f, heavy, 1/10) 66 days ago and remains with potential. Triple bumper winner has won a maiden hurdle; clinically abnormal when pulled-up last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/4 +21%) Mongibello |
11/4(+21%) | (4) Mongibello 11/4, Won 9-runner novice hurdle (5/2) at Perth (20.2f, good to firm) on hurdles bow 6 months ago, doing well to get there after handing the initiative to the runner-up, who won next time. She's open to progress. Bumper winner took a Perth novice hurdle last summer but needs more after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

13/2(+46%) | (2) Cast A Spell 13/2, Fair hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Navan in November. Good fourth of 15 in handicap hurdle (8/1) at Navan (20f, good to soft) 17 days ago, better placed than most. Flat and maiden hurdle winner; ran well in a h'cap hurdle last time but a bit to find. |

5/1(-82%) | (3) Magic Boum 5/1, £110,000 point winner who took 19-runner novice hurdle at Navan (16f, soft, 10/1) on NH debut 25 days ago. Open to improvement for top yard and key player here. Point winner beat a useful yardstick when winning a Navan maiden hurdle and looks a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (100/1 -52%) Unique Frequency |
100/1(-52%) | (7) Unique Frequency 100/1, Half-sister to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler El Beau (winner around 2m, by Camacho) and fairly useful hurdler Dame Rapide (2m-2¼m winner, by Footstepsinthesand). Well held in Flat maiden in September for James M. Barrett. Well beaten in a Flat maiden last September so can only be watched on hurdles/stable debut. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
It is probably best to put a line through AURORA VEGA's last run in Wexford when she was pulled up as she was found to be clinically abnormal afterwards. Her form prior to that reversal was very solid as she won at Listed level in a bumper at Gowran Park and had shed her maiden tag over hurdles in decisive fashion at Cork. Magic Boum is going the right way after adding a Navan maiden hurdle to her point-to-point success, while Cast A Spell and Mongibello both have winning form over flights to call upon.
AURORA VEGA remains with plenty of potential in the hope she's none the worse for whatever ailed her at Wexford and she can get back on track with victory. Magic Boum did well to win at Navan and is the danger ahead of Pastorale.
With doubts about Aurora Vega after being pulled-up last time, a chance is taken on the inexperienced MAGIC BOUM(nap)

Connections thought that SOUNDS VICTORIUS needed the run when turned over at odds on in an auction maiden hurdle at Punchestown in November. This former bumper winner is taken to deliver on his second start over flights. Lovely Hurling travelled smoothly before putting the field away by five lengths in a Wexford bumper back in May, so is of obvious interest on his second go at hurdling. Champagne Kid was a comfortable winner of a Listowel bumper in September, so is likely to get involved. Grimaud was placed over hurdles in Cork and Navan, and is stepped up in trip in a bid to get off the mark.
SOUNDS VICTORIUS and Lovely Hurling have both shown talent in bumpers and are open to improvement in this discipline, so they might well fight this out with the former preferred. Los Blanco is an interesting recruit from points.
Wexford bumper winner LOVELY HURLING gets the nod. That form has worked out ok and his half-brother won a maiden at Naas last month

GAELIC DES CHASTYS is enjoying life with Eric McNamara. He has banked a victory over hurdles and a trio of second places in handicap chases since switching to McNamara, and should put in another decent effort in this big field. Portnacoo ran up a treble at Downpatrick for his former trainer and performed with credit in third on stable debut for Ross O'Sullivan at Navan. Tom Harney lessens his burden by 7lb and the pair are certainly contenders. Birmingham Alabama has been off since winning by the narrowest margin at Wexford in July, while Goodie Girl and Slim Marvel are others with chances.
GAELIC DES CHASTYS has been running well over fences since winning over hurdles at Punchestown and is potentially well treated back in this sphere. Slim Marvel, Birmingham Alabama and Portnacoo complete the shortlist.
A chance is taken on MUST GO NOW. He should strip fitter for his comeback, the hood is removed and the drop back in trip looks a plus

CROSSING THE BAR has each-way claims in an open race. He came from a fair way back for fourth in a higher grade over 3m1f at Navan last month which brings him into contention. There are plenty of dangers, though. Read To Return reverts back to hurdles off an attractive mark of 99, while Meehall won over fences at Killarney in August and in a Galway handicap hurdle in October. Juniper Hill showed good improvement when holding on by a nose over a similar trip at Tipperary in November. Not My Problem's best results have been on better ground, but he is in decent nick.
MICKIE ANGEL has few miles on the clock and made a promising handicap debut for Gavin Cromwell at Tipperary in November. With improvement likely, he makes fair appeal here. Meehall and Not My Problem head the list of dangers.
Just 2l behind the re-opposing Crossing The Bar on handicap debut at Navan last time, \bHEALDSBURG can improve enough to score.

5/4(+50%) | (4) Allegorie De Vassy 5/4, Useful chaser. Back from 6 months off when disappointing fourth of 7 in novice chase at Clonmel (20.8f, good to soft) 55 days ago, finding less than looked likely. Must enter calculations, though. Talented but inconsistent, beaten in this last year, best on testing ground, needs rain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (2/1 -45%) Limerick Lace |
2/1(-45%) | (2) Limerick Lace 2/1, Smart mare who had an excellent second season over fences, winning 3 times, notably the Grade 2 Mares' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Disappointed on return in Betfair Chase but expected to bounce back here. 5-12 over fences, won the Gr 2 mares' at Cheltenham in March, the one to beat at best. |

3rd (5) (18/1 -80%) Malina Girl |
18/1(-80%) | (5) Malina Girl 18/1, Useful chaser. Course winner. 16¾ lengths fourth of 5 to Apple Away in listed chase at Perth (23.8f, soft, 8/1), needing stronger gallop. Off 8 months. May find this trip on sharp side. Four time chase winner, rated 142, beaten 17l in a Listed latest, supporting role likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 +0%) Hauturiere |
9/1(+0%) | (1) Hauturiere 9/1, Useful chaser. Latest win in chase at Limerick in December 2023. Creditable 1½ lengths second of 6 to Harmonya Maker in Gr 2 chase at Thurles (20.2f, heavy, 8/11). 13/2(-18%) | (3) Riviere D'etel 13/2, Useful chaser. 5/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, 8½ lengths fourth of 7 to Lot of Joy in listed mares event at Punchestown (18f, good to soft) 38 days ago. LIMERICK LACE didn't perform in the Grade 1 Betfair Chase at Haydock in November, but should relish Grade 3 company on her return to action after being freshened up. It was just three runs back that she delivered in the Grade 2 Mares' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Allegorie De Vassy is advantaged by the weights in this contest, but has questions to answer after below-par efforts in Punchestown and Clonmel. Riviere D'etel could have a say on this slower ground, while Hauturiere could outrun her odds despite the long absence that she has to overcome.
LIMERICK LACE may have been undone by the testing conditions on her return in the Betfair Chase and can bounce back here. Allegorie de Vassy also arrives on the back of a disappointing effort but still rates the chief threat.
Riviere d'Etel is the selection. She is 2-3 here, she has had two sharpeners over hurdles and she has hopefully been aimed at this

5th (1) (14/1 +72%) Ataboycharlie |
14/1(+72%) | (1) Ataboycharlie 14/1, Promising individual. Useful winner at 16f over hurdles. 66/1, good seventh of 12 in novice chase at Naas (20.1f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Should progress. Similar efforts in defeat in two novice chases behind quality rivals; has to do much more. |

7th (7) (100/1 +33%) Isle Of Sark |
100/1(+33%) | (7) Isle Of Sark 100/1, Fair hurdler. Fairly useful winner at 7f on flat. 100/1, unseated rider in novice chase at this C&D (good) 32 days ago. First run for yard after leaving John Joseph Hanlon. Unseated on both his chase starts and is best watched on debut for a new yard. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
CHAMP KIELY could be a more than useful novice chaser for Willie Mullins. Last season, he landed a Grade 1 over hurdles in Naas before finishing third in the same company at Cheltenham and Punchestown. He stays and he motors through soft ground. His stablemate, O'moore Park, fell on his chasing debut at Fairyhouse, but performed well until being headed by a classy sort before the final fence. Chigorin was successful in a maiden hurdle at this track and ought to make into a chaser, while My Trump Card is entitled to come on from his seasonal reappearance over hurdles at Navan in December on this first crack at fences.
Willie Mullins holds a strong hand and it looks significant that Paul Townend sides with smart novice hurdler CHAMP KIELY despite a long absence. Gordon Elliott is also well represented and his Cleatus Poolaw may emerge as the main threat in what looks a hot maiden chase.
A Grade 1-winning novice hurdler two season's ago, CHAMP KIELY is selected to make a winning chasing debut on reappearance.

11/10(-65%) | (3) Drop A Threat 11/10, €100,000 3-y-o, Triple Threat gelding. Wears hood. Won sole start in points (Apr 2024) and should be hard to beat having his first go for top connections. Point winner commands respect on rules debut, though the yard's form is hit and miss. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8/1(+56%) | (9) The Lookout Man 8/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 12 in bumper at Naas (16.2f, good to soft, 5/1) 16 days ago. May have a bigger effort in him. Needs to find a bit more to get off the mark and seems more a place prospect. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DROP A THREAT was a commanding 12-length winner of a point-to-point in April and starts out on his racecourse career for Willie Mullins, so should be a major player. Nopresentliketime was a reserve for the valuable Goffs Defender Bumper at the Punchestown Festival and there's a plethora of winners in his pedigree, so he has to be respected. There was plenty of market confidence behind Passenger ahead of his sixth place in a Punchestown bumper in June. More can be expected from him and it is worth noting that he is a half-brother to a Listed winner on the Flat. The Lookout Man and Largy Belter are in there pitching for a cheque.
DROP A THREAT has already won a point and his top trainer has an excellent record in bumpers, so he's an obvious choice ahead of Nopresentliketime, who makes appeal on pedigree. The Lookout Man is the pick of those with bumper experience.
LARGY BELTER was just 2l behind a subsequent Listed bumper winner on his sole point start and could be a bit of value.
Ths is the racecard key.
