1st (2) (13/2 -63%) Our Dylan |
13/2(-63%) | (2) Our Dylan 13/2, In winning form in the spring and has remained in good heart since, finding just one too good back from a break at Hereford (2m) last month. Enters calculations once more. Won two in a row in the spring and has continued in good form since; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 +63%) Moorland Rambler |
9/2(+63%) | (3) Moorland Rambler 9/2, Course winner but he came in last of 4 in handicap chase here (24.2f, good) 18 days ago. Possibilities back in this sphere. Plenty to prove regarding current form but perhaps the return to hurdling will help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/4 +63%) Sindabella |
9/4(+63%) | (8) Sindabella 9/4, Resumed winning ways on the back of a wind op in 15-runner handicap hurdle over C&D 45 days ago. Up 6 lb but still not taken lightly. Returned to form to win over C&D on her reappearance and she's entitled to respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (20/1 -186%) Brownstone |
20/1(-186%) | (1) Brownstone 20/1, A fair hurdle winner in Ireland and in good nick for current yard, fourth of 9 at Ludlow (3m) 11 days ago. Holds solid claims. Early days with this yard and he's run well the last twice; could have a part to play. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (25/1 +0%) Dropitlikeitshot |
25/1(+0%) | (9) Dropitlikeitshot 25/1, Modest maiden hurdler who wasn't disgraced when fifth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Leicester (15.5f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Needs to build on it now. Didn't run badly when fifth at 50-1 on handicap debut, but improvement is needed today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (33/1 +50%) Pour Une Raison |
33/1(+50%) | (11) Pour Une Raison 33/1, Course winner who has yet to fire in three runs this term, coming in a well-held sixth at Ffos Las (23.9f) 54 days ago. Visor goes back on but hard to warm to. Course winner but it's a very long time since he's been competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (9/2 +18%) Oneforthefairgreen |
9/2(+18%) | (7) Oneforthefairgreen 9/2, Still to get her head in front but she posted a good second of 8 in handicap hurdle at Leicester (15.5f, good to soft) 18 days ago, closing all way to line. Big shout now back up in trip. Kept on well for 1m7f second last time and this unexposed 6yo is on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (4/1 -33%) Sassified |
4/1(-33%) | (6) Sassified 4/1, Running very well without winning, second of 15 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (19f, good to soft) 8 days ago when just failing. Likely player once more. Runner-up the last twice and he's just 1lb higher today; could play another leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (40/1 -100%) Galactic Glow |
40/1(-100%) | (10) Galactic Glow 40/1, Modest winner at 10f on the Flat. First form in this sphere when third of 9 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (16.5f, good) 22 days ago. In the mix. Back hurdling with fair third at Taunton last month but others have more pressing claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (33/1 -65%) Johannes |
33/1(-65%) | (4) Johannes 33/1, A fair 2m Flat winner in France and off the mark over hurdles at Taunton in February. Pulled up both runs since however so he has it to prove now. Won at Taunton in February on handicap debut but pulled up the next twice. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Last-time-out C&D winner Sindabella rarely runs a bad race at this venue and another bold showing looks likely. However, a 6lb rise in the ratings may be enough to prevent the eight-year-old from following up and it could be worth taking a chance on GALACTIC GLOW. Joe Tickle's gelding was third in a race won by a subsequent winner at Taunton, with another right behind him, and he could be ready to open his account in this discipline. Sassified and Our Dylan are also noted.
This is wide open but ONEFORTHEFAIRGREEN gave the strong impression this step up in trip would suit when runner-up at Leicester last time out so edges the vote. Sassified heads the list of dangers on the back of his good recent Taunton second, although Our Dylan, Brownstone and Sindabella all need factoring in too.
The step back up in trip could be ideal for the unexposed mare ONEFORTHEFAIRGREEN and she earns the vote ahead of Sassified.

1st (2) (11/4 -22%) Lowry's Bar |
11/4(-22%) | (2) Lowry's Bar 11/4, Winner of his first 4 starts over hurdles last term and shaped really well when second of 15 in handicap chase at Bangor (20.3f, soft, 9/4) on debut over fences 23 days ago. Likely more to come in this sphere yet. Progressive hurdler; ran really well behind a well-handicapped winner on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (25/1 +24%) Stormy Flight |
25/1(+24%) | (5) Stormy Flight 25/1, Gradually worked his way back to form last season, scoring twice over this C&D. Ran poorly on return at Chepstow, however, and others are more convincing. Most exposed of these by some way and he needed to run better on his return from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/3 +33%) The Doyen Chief |
10/3(+33%) | (4) The Doyen Chief 10/3, Winning pointer/bumper performer who won 2 of his 4 starts (at up to 20.6f) in that sphere last term and shaped pretty well sent chasing, when third at Market Rasen (21.4f, good) 52 days ago. Entitled to build on that and merits consideration. 2-4 over hurdles and ran a very solid first race over fences behind a progressive winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (18/5 -44%) Lord Of Thunder |
18/5(-44%) | (3) Lord Of Thunder 18/5, Firmly on the up over hurdles in January, scoring twice in novice company around 2m4f at Wincanton. Looks the part for chasing and was making a very promising start in this discipline when coming down 2 out at Cheltenham on return in October. Big player. Good novice hurdler; fell two out on chase debut at Cheltenham when having every chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 -200%) Tommys Charm |
18/1(-200%) | (7) Tommys Charm 18/1, Runner-up sole start in Irish points and went one better in maiden at Chepstow (19.5f) on hurdling debut in February. Ran well behind an improver at Ffos Las next time and could still have more to offer on chase/handicap debut back from 8 months off. Didn't hang about over hurdles despite showing useful form; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (7/1 +0%) Garincha |
7/1(+0%) | (6) Garincha 7/1, Three-time winner (at up to 20.9f) in 2022/23 who shaped as if retaining all of his ability, back from 19 months off, when good third of 15 in handicap chase at Bangor (20.3f, soft) 23 days ago. Likely contender. Won three of first six chases and was returning from a long absence when third at Bangor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (25/1 -79%) Quel Destin |
25/1(-79%) | (1) Quel Destin 25/1, Won 2 heavy-ground handicaps (at up to 21.6f) last term but ended campaign with a couple of poor runs and returns with plenty to prove. Had wind operation. Not badly handicapped if getting back in the zone following further wind surgery. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Having found only a progressive opponent too strong on his first attempt over fences at Bangor, compensation could beckon for LOWRY'S BAR. Although the six-year-old has a 4lb higher mark to contend with, he may find enough improvement to defy that rise. Lord Of Thunder was still in touch when falling two out on his chase bow at Cheltenham in October and he's feared most, ahead of dual C&D winner Stormy Flight.
Preference is for LOWRY'S BAR, who ran a cracker on his chasing bow at Bangor last month and remains with potential over the larger obstacles. Lord of Thunder would have gone close, but for coming down late on, on his Cheltenham chase debut and is feared most, whilst Garincha is also much respected.
Everything had gone fine for LORD OF THUNDER (nap) until falling late on at Cheltenham and he looks very well handicapped.

1st (7) (14/1 +44%) Kap Vert |
14/1(+44%) | (7) Kap Vert 14/1, €50,000 3-y-o, Kapgarde gelding. Runner-up in points in May and bright start over hurdles when fifth of 15 in maiden at Ffos Las (20f) 26 days ago, keeping on before losing 2 places run-in. Yard going along very well and he looks sure to improve. Point runner-up who could build upon hurdle debut fifth; yard has good record in this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/5 +40%) Jurancon |
2/5(+40%) | (1) Jurancon 2/5, Useful 2-time winner in bumpers who confirmed hurdles debut promise when opening his account in 10-runner novice hurdle at Chepstow (16f, good to soft) 30 days ago, pulling clear with runner up. Definite claims under a penalty with prospect of more to come. Strong form on his two hurdle starts and he holds leading claims under a 6lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/2 +0%) Mythical Moon |
7/2(+0%) | (2) Mythical Moon 7/2, Fair form when runner-up on second of 2 starts in bumpers and took to this discipline well after 6 months off when bagging 14-runner novice hurdle at Stratford (16.3f, good to soft) 5 weeks ago, running on. In good hands and there's better to come. Won on hurdle debut at Stratford in what looked a useful race; respected under a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (33/1 +0%) In Limbo |
33/1(+0%) | (6) In Limbo 33/1, €42,000 3-y-o, Doyen gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 3¼m) Hansupfordetroit. Placed all 3 starts in points, runner-up latest (Apr 2023). Placed in points in 2022-23 season but makes rules debut after a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (22/1 -238%) Disco Davis |
22/1(-238%) | (4) Disco Davis 22/1, Fair in bumpers and has twice looked the likeliest winner over hurdles, taking another late flight fall at Uttoxeter (20f) 61 days ago, going better than eventual winner at the time. Remains open to improvement and big player provided that second setback hasn't left a mark. Bang there when falling in the closing stages on each of his two hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (18/1 -13%) George Henry |
18/1(-13%) | (5) George Henry 18/1, From a fairly useful jumping family and not without promise in a couple of bumpers last season. Undergone wind surgery ahead of this return/hurdles debut but he may well be suited by further in this sphere. Has to improve upon bumper form but there's potential in his pedigree & he's in top hands. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (11/1 -22%) U Cant Be Serious |
11/1(-22%) | (9) U Cant Be Serious 11/1, Rangy gelding who displayed fair form without tasting success in handful off bumper starts, albeit not at best when sixth in 9-runner listed contest at Newbury in February. Looks the pick of the Tizzard pair now hurdling and the betting should guide. 0-4 in bumpers but showed promise in some warm races; could give a good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (150/1 -50%) Northern Symphonie |
150/1(-50%) | (12) Northern Symphonie 150/1, Solid start when second in a bumper at Newbury this time last year but well held both starts thereafter in that discipline. Switched yards ahead of return/hurdles debut but she's another likely best watched. Encouraging second on bumper debut but well beaten the next twice; now goes hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (200/1 +0%) Break Heart Hill |
200/1(+0%) | (3) Break Heart Hill 200/1, No impact in bumper/pair of novice hurdles earlier this year. Hood reached for following 7 months off but he can only be watched. Well beaten at big odds on all three starts; a hood goes on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (125/1 -89%) Tractor Jack |
125/1(-89%) | (8) Tractor Jack 125/1, Jack Hobbs gelding. Fitted with a tongue strap but suffered a breathing problem when ninth of 12 in novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (16.8f, good to firm) on NH debut 6 months ago. Had wind surgery subsequently but percentage call is to look elsewhere. Tailed off on debut in May; has had wind surgery since but others make greater appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (125/1 -213%) Stylia |
125/1(-213%) | (13) Stylia 125/1, £30,000 buy after finishing runner-up on her completed start in Irish points in May 2024. Modest form when eighth of 12 in a Ffos Las bumper on Rules bow 26 days ago, dropping away 2f out. Hurdles debut. Fair second in a point but soundly beaten on last month's hurdle debut at Ffos Las. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (200/1 -100%) Arctic Blue |
200/1(-100%) | (10) Arctic Blue 200/1, Blue Bresil mare who is bred to stay well and couldn't make an impact when seventh of 9 on debut in a C&D bumper back in February 2023. Absent/switched yards since and this looks a sharp enough test now hurdling. Well beaten on debut in bumper here in February 2023 and absent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (250/1 +0%) Mon The Hoops |
250/1(+0%) | (11) Mon The Hoops 250/1, No promise in bumpers and similar story in pair of novice/mares' maiden hurdles to date. Well beaten in bumpers and she's struggled when triple-figure odds on both hurdle starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
JURANCON built on his promising second-placed hurdles bow at Worcester when landing the spoils at Chepstow last month. David Pipe's inmate drew well clear with a subsequent winner that day and he looks up to defying a 6lb penalty. The biggest threat is likely to emerge from fellow penalised scorer Mythical Moon, who impressed with his attitude when winning at Stratford. Disco Davis may chase the duo home if cutting out the jumping errors.
JURANCON confirmed the promise of his hurdling debut display when opening his account at Chepstow 30 days ago, pulling a long way clear with the runner-up. He's fancied to make a bold bid to defy a penalty, with Disco Davis, who has been most unfortunate in 2 hurdle outings to date, and fellow last-time-out winner Mythical Moon heading up the dangers. Kap Vert is another capable of better.
Point and two-time bumper winner JURANCON has shown strong form on his two hurdle starts and can defy a 6lb penalty.

1st (5) (6/4 +20%) Billytherealbigred |
6/4(+20%) | (5) Billytherealbigred 6/4, Most progressive sent handicapping over hurdles last season, winning his first 3 starts, and in receipt of weight-for-age allowance he was impressive when making a successful seasonal/chase debut at Bangor (20.3f, heavy) in October. 12 lb rise to contend with but capable of following up. The form of his Bangor win has worked out well so a 12lb rise could be manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/2 +28%) Fire Flyer |
13/2(+28%) | (1) Fire Flyer 13/2, Won a pair of novice hurdles at up to 19f in February. Disappointed in a couple of Sandown handicap hurdles in the spring and failed to complete on return after a wind op through no fault of his own at Cheltenham (21f) last month (badly hampered 3 out). Now attentions are turned to fences. Chase debutant; too talented to dismiss for all that he has a lot to prove now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (12/1 +14%) Risk De Pluie |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Risk De Pluie 12/1, Winning Irish pointer who followed suit in 2m3f novice at Fontwell on Rules debut in January. Yet to build on that but could do now sent chasing after 7 months off (has had a breathing operation in the interim). Point/hurdle winner; ran to a fair level in novice hurdles and he's had wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (18/1 -125%) Denemethy |
18/1(-125%) | (4) Denemethy 18/1, Irish point winner who was runner-up on bumper debut last November. Much better for hurdles bow when landing maiden at Wincanton in March but failed to fire under a penalty at Ffos Las the following month. Makes return/chase debut and impossible to discount for a top yard. Maiden hurdle winner and has the potential to be a far better chaser. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/2 +0%) Royal Jewel |
9/2(+0%) | (6) Royal Jewel 9/2, Progressive over hurdles at this course last season, including a maiden win around 2m and a near miss in a handicap over 18.5f. Resumed where he left off when good second at Newton Abbot on chase bow/return in October and likely to improve on that. Should be sharper all round for his first chase start but this is a stronger race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (4/1 -14%) Dartmoor Pirate |
4/1(-14%) | (2) Dartmoor Pirate 4/1, Winning hurdle debut at Wincanton last season and better form in defeat since, notably his excellent fourth of 17 in very competitive EBF Final at Sandown in March, looking well suited by the step up to 2½m. Will make a chaser so warrants respect on return. Had a solid novice hurdle campaign last season, finishing fourth in the EBF Final. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (11/1 +31%) Ito Ditto |
11/1(+31%) | (3) Ito Ditto 11/1, Much improved last term and a three-time scorer, signing off with a 2m4f Lingfield handicap success. Should make a chaser, but dropped away quickly on his first try at it on return at Ffos Las (16f, soft) in October. This should reveal more. Went out like a light on chase debut at Ffos Las (2m) but he's a lot better than that. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
BILLYTHEREALBIGRED was hugely progressive in handicap hurdles, winning three on the bounce, before ending his season with a fall at Ayr. The four-year-old showed no ill effects when making a successful chasing debut at Bangor in October and a 12lb higher rating may not be enough to stop him from improving further. Dartmoor Pirate ran well to finish fourth in the EBF Final at Sandown and is likely to be in the mix on his chasing bow, while Fire Flyer has the ability to get involved in proceedings too.
BILLYTHEREALBIGRED couldn't have been much more impressive on his return/chase debut at Bangor in October and, with further improvement anticipated, he's fancied to defy a 12 lb rise and remain unbeaten in this sphere. Second choice is Royal Jewel, who resumed where he left off last winter when finishing runner-up on chase debut at Newton Abbot recently, with Dartmoor Pirate rounding off the shortlist.
Preference is for DARTMOOR PIRATE who was fourth in last season's always-strong EBF Hurdle Final at Sandown.

1st (5) (9/2 +0%) Baby Sage |
9/2(+0%) | (5) Baby Sage 9/2, Bumper winner who has been placed on all 3 completed starts over hurdles, returning from 11 months off to finish third on 21f Warwick handicap debut 31 days ago. Entitled to come on for the outing. Same mark as when beaten 12l at Warwick, though lacked a recent run that day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (7/2 +13%) Land Genie |
7/2(+13%) | (7) Land Genie 7/2, Half-brother to Constitution Hill. Failed to really build on his bumper debut success during his time with the O'Neill stable but no shock were he to prove a different proposition for new trainer Dan Skelton. Has had wind surgery. Market support would look significant. Respectable form for previous yard; now with Dan Skelton and had wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (20/1 -186%) Night Duty |
20/1(-186%) | (3) Night Duty 20/1, £65,000 buy after winning his sole point in May 2021 but seen only 3 times over hurdles in the 3½ years since, albeit showing ability remains this autumn. Handicap debut. Two runs since returning leave him with a good bit to prove here on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/3 +49%) Iris Des Issards |
10/3(+49%) | (2) Iris Des Issards 10/3, Ex-pointer who is still unexposed as a hurdler and shaped well when 3 lengths third of 10 on his 17f course reappearance 4 weeks ago. The return to a longer trip will suit and high on the shortlist. Seems mildly progressive having hit the frame in his last two handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (50/1 -150%) Demilion |
50/1(-150%) | (10) Demilion 50/1, Fairly useful handicapper at best on Flat (stays 12.5f) for Charlie Johnston but ended 2023 out of sorts. Yet to get near that level over hurdles, including well-held fifth on 15f Wincanton handicap debut 15 days ago. This significant step up in trip will need to spark improvement. At 40-1, the market told a tale on handicap debut and he was tailed off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (5/1 +29%) Captain Boudet |
5/1(+29%) | (8) Captain Boudet 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden who made a positive return to the fray when third of 18 in 19.5f Chepstow handicap last month. Claims if able to build on that. Had top weight when third of 18 in a 2m3f handicap at Chepstow last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (18/1 -64%) Flash Gorcombe |
18/1(-64%) | (6) Flash Gorcombe 18/1, Notched 3 chase wins last season. Betting perhaps the best guide to expectations back hurdling on reappearance. First run in a handicap over hurdles and chasing exploits bring him right into this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (66/1 -100%) Confidential Gosip |
66/1(-100%) | (9) Confidential Gosip 66/1, Fair maiden hurdler for Jessica Harrington but well held in 2 runs for Laura Horsfall, making jumping errors on Fontwell handicap debut latterly. Can only watch after that. Tailed off in two runs for current yard, the latest a handicap; cheekpieces turned to. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (80/1 -21%) Instant De Bonheur |
80/1(-21%) | (11) Instant De Bonheur 80/1, Modest maiden who was struggling for form when last seen at the beginning of 2023. Can only be watched after nearly 2 years on the sidelines. Tailed off when returned to hurdling for her last two runs and those were a long time ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (3/1 +50%) Jaminska |
3/1(+50%) | (4) Jaminska 3/1, Fair winning hurdler who stepped up on her reappearance when runner-up over 18.5f here last month. The step back up in trip should be in her favour and respected under Pritchard. Well handicapped, ran well last time and Callum Pritchard takes off a very handy 7lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (125/1 -279%) Balkeo |
125/1(-279%) | (1) Balkeo 125/1, Fairly useful form in France in spring 2022 but not seen since pulling up in a Kempton novice hurdle for Nicky Henderson in March 2022. Has first-time cheekpieces added to a tongue tie he wore when last seen. Can only watch after such a long time off. Promise in France but left Nicky Henderson for £12,000; off for 993 days. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Iris Des Issards is likely to appreciate a step up in trip based on his return third here last month. Kayley Woollacott's gelding should have more to offer on just his seventh appearance over hurdles, but a chance is taken on handicap debutant NIGHT DUTY. The eight-year-old has required plenty of patience since winning a point-to-point in May 2021, only running three times since, but this might be the time to catch him. Jaminska and Baby Sage complete the shortlist.
The suggestion is LAND GENIE on his first outing for Dan Skelton, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Iris des Issards and Jaminska both arrive on the back of encouraging placed efforts here last month and can give the selection most to think about.
If she stays the trip then JAMINSKA is handicapped to be very competitive with Callum Pritchard taking away a further 7lb.

1st (7) (9/2 +55%) Leissieres Express |
9/2(+55%) | (7) Leissieres Express 9/2, Course winner who ended last season on the up, scoring at Chepstow on final start. Looked rusty on his return there and can take a step forward. Progressive last season; glaring concern is his laboured reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (12/1 -243%) Art Decco |
12/1(-243%) | (2) Art Decco 12/1, Ended last term on the up, completing a hat-trick in staying handicaps when scoring at Ffos Las (28f, heavy) in March. Stayer with more to come this season so shouldn't be underestimated. Went 3-3 last season once the cheekpieces were fitted and could improve some more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3/1 -9%) Rouge De L'quest |
3/1(-9%) | (5) Rouge De L'quest 3/1, Winning pointer who boasts a progressive profile over fences since blinkers/tongue tie went on, easily opening his account at Ffos Las (23.8f) in March. Good runners-up efforts next 3 starts, including at Chepstow on return, clear of a subsequent winner. Should stay and big shout. Low-mileage 8yo who is running well and gives the impression that he'll stay this far. |

4th (8) (12/1 -85%) Musical Slave |
12/1(-85%) | (8) Musical Slave 12/1, Useful sort at his best and took advantage of reduced mark at Fontwell. Only fourth there next time, however, and likely to find a few too good again. Recent winner but not the force of old and good days have become hard to call. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (11/2 +8%) Whydah Gally |
11/2(+8%) | (9) Whydah Gally 11/2, Hit the target twice in handicaps chases at Lingfield last season, latterly demonstrating strong stamina reserves with success over 29f in February. Unable to reproduce that since but shaped as if in reasonable heart on his second start back when third at Fontwell 3 weeks ago. Plugged on for third at Fontwell (3m3f) and this longer trip can only be a good thing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (7/1 +18%) Well Dick |
7/1(+18%) | (6) Well Dick 7/1, Scored at Warwick in March but pulled up in handicap chase at Ffos Las (28f, heavy) 8 months ago on his final run for Charlie Longsdon. Still merits consideration for his new in-form handler after breathing surgery. Hard to call but a capable stayer on his day and makes stable debut after a wind operation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (10/1 +85%) Daring Plan |
10/1(+85%) | (11) Daring Plan 10/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who was well held sent chasing after 10 months off at Chepstow 2 weeks ago so easy to look elsewhere. Not had a lot of racing under rules but his recent chase debut was forgettable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (12/1 -20%) Bells Of Peterboro |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Bells Of Peterboro 12/1, Dual winner at Chepstow last season but disappointed there 5 weeks ago after his comeback run over hurdles. Others more persuasive. Below best in two runs after a break and going over this far could be an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (13/2 +59%) Stellar Stream |
13/2(+59%) | (10) Stellar Stream 13/2, Gained a deserved breakthrough success over fences (in first-time cheekpieces, not on here) in the North Wales National at Bangor (29.5f, heavy) in February. Failed to complete next 2 starts and looked rusty after 6 months off at Ffos Las. Better expected now. 3m5f winner on heavy so a strong stayer; reappearance run could have been better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (14/1 +0%) Hold Your Fort |
14/1(+0%) | (4) Hold Your Fort 14/1, Really turned a corner since upped in trip over fences, posting his best effort yet when completing a Newton Abbot (25.8f, good) 4-timer in September. Handicapper semes to have his measure now, however. Had a good year but the handicapper now looks in charge and conditions are a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (66/1 -230%) Amateur |
66/1(-230%) | (1) Amateur 66/1, Unreliable type who is firmly into the veteran stage of his career and was pulled up both starts in October after 5 months off. Hard to fancy in this competitive environment on the back of that. Pulled up in five of his last six races and good days tend to come at Ffos Las; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
WHYDAH GALLY won over 3m5f on soft going at Lingfield back in February. A recent third off this mark in the Southern National offered plenty of encouragement and Joe Tizzard's resolute stayer is taken to confirm running with Musical Slave, who wasn't far behind the selection in fourth at Fontwell and can have a say in the outcome. Art Decco proved a progressive chaser last season and is preferred to Rouge De L'quest on his reappearance.
ROUGE DE L'QUEST was unlucky to bump into one at Chepstow on return, pulling clear of a subsequent winner, and is fancied to one better with a promising claimer taking off 7 b. Art Decco is an improving stayer who must be respected on his comeback, while the unexposed Well Dick is of interest having joined an in-form yard.
Rouge De L'Quest is solid but WELL DICK gets a speculative nod on the back of wind surgery and on his debut for Emma Lavelle.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A winner between the flags in Ireland, SOBER GLORY made a successful start under Rules when landing a bumper at Chepstow with plenty left in the tank. That is easily the strongest form on offer and the four-year-old could prove difficult to beat, despite carrying a penalty. The newcomer Crackerjacque is from the family of high-class chaser Sam Brown and could get involved, while Paul Nicholls' Master Theobaker is worth noting on his racecourse debut.
SOBER GLORY ran to a high figure when making a winning debut at Chepstow in October, pulling well clear with another useful prospect, so hopes have to be high that he will successfully concede weight all round. Newcomers may offer most resistance, with Master Theobaker and Crackerjacque likely types on paper.
There are interesting newcomers to beat but SOBER GLORY pulled clear with the second at Chepstow and he could be useful.
Ths is the racecard key.
