1st (2) ![]() Kayf Dancer |
1/14(+91%) | (2) Kayf Dancer 1/14, Some encouragement only start in bumpers and, after another 11 months off, left his hurdling debut effort behind when 7½ lengths third of 14 to The New Lion in maiden at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) in October. Leading contender upped in trip. Lightly raced with absences but Chepstow 3rd (2m4f, soft) in October gives him good chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Thankyouandplease |
17/2(+61%) | (4) Thankyouandplease 17/2, Runner-up completed start in Irish points in January and hinted at ability when fourth of 5 in novice at Wincanton (19.8f, soft) on hurdling debut 17 days ago. Has plenty to find in this contest, though. Irish point 2nd; 37l fourth of five when 50-1 for 2m4f Wincanton novice; should improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Rockbeare |
18/1(+73%) | (3) Rockbeare 18/1, Half-brother to 2 winning hurdlers but offered little on debut when last of 12 in bumper at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) in January, racing freely. Looks to be up against it as he goes hurdling over this longer distance. 28-1, beaten a long way in last of 12 for bumper at Wincanton (1m7f, good to soft). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A highly promising third behind none other than The New Lion at Chepstow in October, KAYF DANCER has had a break since and that form sets the standard on his return to action. Doctor Kildare arrives with similar claims after a respectable second at Doncaster earlier in the month, but will need to improve his jumping if he is to trouble the selection. Thankyouandplease may pick up the pieces if the aforementioned pair falter.
KAYF DANCER has been shaping up well in his 3 starts so far, keeping on for third behind subsequent dual Grade 1 winner The New Lion at Chepstow last time, so he is taken to get off the mark with this longer trip promising to suit. He can see off the challenge of Doctor Kildare, who is also open to further improvement.
This looks a match between KAYF DANCER and Doctor Kildare, with not much between them on ratings. The trip should be fine for both.

1st (1) ![]() Coconut Twist |
9/4(+36%) | (1) Coconut Twist 9/4, Landed a gamble back hurdling in 15-runner handicap at this course (21.6f) in January and has run creditably in defeat twice since, latest when third of 12 in handicap hurdle over C&D (good to soft) 16 days ago. Ought to go well again. Won here (near 2m6f, soft) in January; creditable 3rd both starts since, C&D (good) latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Special John |
6/5(+40%) | (3) Special John 6/5, Off mark in points at fourth attempt and posted best effort in this sphere when second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (24.3f, good to soft) 6 days ago. Races off same mark here and is one for shortlist. Front-running 2nd on Southwell handicap debut (3m, good to soft; favourite) six days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Miss Popalong |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Miss Popalong 12/1, Didn't show much in a bumper and novice hurdles last season, but in first-time hood she took a step forward on handicap debut when third at Fontwell (19.1f) in May. Disappointed at same course when last seen in October but could be suited by this longer trip. Needs to find more but she is stoutly bred, giving encouragement for this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Low Expectations |
16/1(+36%) | (4) Low Expectations 16/1, Yet to make an impact in 4 attempts over hurdles, including on handicap debut at Fontwell 17 days ago. Tries a longer trip now but remains hard to recommend. Beaten at least 22l in all four hurdles races, handicap debut at Fontwell (2m3f) latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Wearapinkribbon |
9/2(-29%) | (7) Wearapinkribbon 9/2, Ended losing run of more than 4 years when striking at Huntingdon (25f, good to soft) on yard debut 3 weeks ago. 4 lb higher now but must enter calculations. Won stable debut at Huntingdon (3m2f) when wearing a first-time visor after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() The Questioner |
16/1(-78%) | (5) The Questioner 16/1, Hurdle/chaser winner who showed he retains ability, on his second run back after an absence, when third in Wetherby handicap hurdle in January. Not been in same form since, however, and is now tried in blinkers for first time. Off 444 days before this season, well below form; blinkers replace his usual cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SPECIAL JOHN was a major improver for going up in trip when runner-up at Southwell last time out, and with further progress likely, Chris Down's charge can go one better on his fourth start in this sphere. A determined winner over further at Huntingdon on his first start for new connections, Wearapinkribbon is likely to have a say off 4lb higher, while the consistent Coconut Twist is another to note, having scored here in January.
SPECIAL JOHN was well supported when a good second at Southwell last week and remains low mileage. He makes plenty of appeal. Coconut Twist and Lightonthewing are feared most.
Coconut Twist should go well again but WEARAPINKRIBBON (nap) won at the first attempt for his new yard and may build on that.

1st (2) ![]() Blacksamssenorita |
1/4(+83%) | (2) Blacksamssenorita 1/4, Promise on first of 3 starts in bumpers and compiling a consistent record in this sphere, again displaying fair form when second of 12 in mares' novice at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) 17 days ago. Well up to playing a lead role on that evidence. Clear second of 12 behind a useful filly at Wincanton this month; commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() La Cantate |
7/1(+72%) | (6) La Cantate 7/1, No Risk At All filly who showed a bit more than on debut in a bumper, albeit never threatening when fifth of 11 in juvenile maiden hurdle at Hereford (16.2f) 39 days ago. Handicaps will be more her thing further down the line. Made fairy encouraging hurdle debut last month but needs to improve here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Kissininthebackrow |
5/1(+44%) | (3) Kissininthebackrow 5/1, Fair staying handicapper on the Flat who unable to replicate that level in 2 starts over hurdles during the autumn. Respectable effort on the level when last seen in December but handicaps/longer trips will be more her bag in this sphere moving forward. Dual 2m Flat winner in 2024 but has shown only minor promise over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Bellever Tor |
125/1(+50%) | (1) Bellever Tor 125/1, Cannock Chase mare who has offered little all 4 starts over hurdles to date. Well beaten at huge odds on all four starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Sweet Serene |
40/1(+39%) | (4) Sweet Serene 40/1, Best effort in bumpers (modest form) when fourth of 11 at Bangor last June and she looked badly in need of the experience on return when fourth in 6-runner Hereford maiden hurdle (19.7f) in November. Passed over starting out for new stable. Well-beaten 33-1 shot on hurdle debut in November and not seen again since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Runner-up on her last two starts, BLACKSAMSSENORITA deserves a change in luck and she can get that on this occasion, with the slight rise in distance expected to suit. Good ground should not inconvenience either, so the six-year-old gets the vote ahead of Youhadmeathello, who was a highly promising second on debut at Hereford last month. Kissininthebackrow is one that reverts from the level and may have a say in proceedings.
A winner on her second start in points, YOUHADMEATHELLO produced a promising first effort under Rules when second in a mares' maiden hurdle at Hereford 4 weeks ago. A well-related mare, she looks sure to improve for that initial experience and can make it second time lucky. That said, Blacksamssenorita is compiling a solid record herself over hurdles and shouldn't be dismissed lightly.
Irish point winner YOUHADMEATHELLO made a promising start to her rules career last month and gets the vote.

1st (3) ![]() Yes Day |
10/3(+0%) | (3) Yes Day 10/3, Point/hurdles winner who benefitted from a more patient ride when comfortably off the mark in this sphere at Hereford 2 weeks ago. Remains unexposed and big shout if seeing out the longer trip. Unraced beyond the 3m1f over which he won easily at Hereford (good) two weeks ago; up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Planned Paradise |
2/1(+82%) | (5) Planned Paradise 2/1, Perth winner in July and resumed winning ways at Windsor, looking suited by the return to a marathon trip (jumped better than usual). Seemingly no excuses when 4½ lengths fourth of 8 to Art Decco over C&D since but ground won't be as testing this time. Heavy ground over C&D one month ago may have been a little too much (respectable fourth). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Concetto |
5/2(+55%) | (6) Concetto 5/2, Has an awkward head carriage but won twice last term and best effort of current campaign when runner-up to a subsequent winner at Market Rasen 3 weeks ago under this rider. Not taken lightly. Stayed 3m4f when 2nd at Market Rasen on two of last three starts, latest under Ben Smith. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Musical Slave |
3/1(+25%) | (4) Musical Slave 3/1, Veteran who is not as good as he was but is handicapped accordingly and won at Fontwell in October. Has continued in good nick, resuming winning ways at Taunton 2 weeks ago. Player if this doesn't come too soon. Good or good to soft might be best for him these days and he's won two of last four starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
ART DECCO relished a greater emphasis on stamina when digging deep to land the spoils over C&D last month. A 2lb nudge up in the ratings looks more than fair and another bold bid looks assured. The biggest threat may emerge from Musical Slave, who bounced back to form when scoring at Taunton 13 days ago. Neo King and Yes Day are others to consider in their current fettle.
This looks competitive but YES DAY won in the style of an improving novice at Hereford 2 weeks ago so gets the nod. Art Decco and Neo King are closely matched having finished 1-2 over C&D last month and they head the dangers.
With much less to prove than some if it's good ground, CONCETTO and Musical Slave top the list.

![]() Fortunefavorsdbold |
(4) 11/4(-38%) | (4) Fortunefavorsdbold 11/4, Yet to score this term but she's been in good form until possibly finding the run coming too soon when a remote third of 6 in handicap chase at Leicester (22.7f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Figures on a handy mark and well worth another chance. Best efforts in the mud and she has stacks to prove if the ground is good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Minniemum |
85/40(-21%) | (1) Minniemum 85/40, Comes here in good form over hurdles, third of 6 in handicap at Ludlow (23.8f, soft) 24 days ago. Much respected on her belated chasing debut. Score is 1-19 and this is her chase debut but her sole win (last May) was on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Micronormous |
9/4(+63%) | (2) Micronormous 9/4, Made a successful start in this sphere at Fakenham in November but has failed to build on it in three subsequent runs, fifth of 7 in handicap chase at Catterick (25.2f, good to soft) 41 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Not disgraced at Catterick (3m1f) latest but that did not prove her stamina beyond 2m7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() River Tyne |
5/1(-11%) | (3) River Tyne 5/1, Already a three-time chase winner this season, latest at Fontwell in December, but she was pulled up in 3m5f Fakenham handicap last time. Has a bit to prove now. Needs to rebound from two poor shows but has done similar a few times before. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having finished third on her last two outings over hurdles, chase debutant MINNIEMUM may prove tough to beat if taking to this discipline. The daughter of Telescope looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to get back on the scoresheet and she's preferred to Fortunefavorsdbold. Christian Williams' mare boasts plenty of experience in this sphere and she could prove dangerous if allowed an easy lead. Micronormous may chase the aforementioned pair home.
FORTUNEFAVORSDBOLD is worth forgiving his latest below-form third at Leicester when possibly finding the run coming too quickly and can gain a deserved first success of the season. Chasing--debutante Minniemum arrives in good nick over the smaller obstacles and could emerge as the chief threat to Christian Williams' mare ahead of Micronormous.
River Tyne is preferred among the three who have run over fences but the chase debutante MINNIEMUM needs a very close look.

![]() Caracara |
(2) 11/2(+66%) | (2) Caracara 11/2, Third in a Larkhill point bumper on debut 3 weeks ago. Claims if she can build on that. Some promise when third in a recent point bumper but improvement is needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (4) ![]() Amatchmadeinheaven |
7/4(-8%) | (4) Amatchmadeinheaven 7/4, Made a winning debut in a point bumper 3 weeks ago. Interesting runner. Made all to win good-ground Larkhill point bumper by 8l on debut three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Couer D'alene |
13/8(-9%) | (1) Couer D'alene 13/8, Struck at the third time of asking in maiden points last month. Likely to have a big say on Rules debut. Flat-bred 5yo; won soft-ground maiden point by 12l last month; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Lady Kloppenheim |
9/2(-35%) | (3) Lady Kloppenheim 9/2, Only midfield in a point bumper last spring but returned to easily land short odds in a 3-runner maiden point in November. Off again since. Easily beat two rivals in a maiden point in November; tricky to weigh up. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having made it fourth time lucky between the flags at Kingston Blount last month, Couer D'alene must enter calculations. However, fellow Rules debutant AMATCHMADEINHEAVEN was quite taking when scoring over 2m at Larkhill earlier this month and the son of Schiaparelli may have too much speed for these rivals. Badbury Rings winner Lady Kloppenheim is heading in the right direction and it will be interesting to see how she compares to her rivals in the market.
A race in which the betting will likely be informative. COUER D'ALENE was the comfortable winner of a Kingston Blount maiden point last month and gets the vote before market clues are known.
Preference is for AMATCHMADEINHEAVEN, who dominated a recent Larkhill point bumper from the front.
Ths is the racecard key.
