![]() Ambion View |
(1) 6/4(+55%) | (1) Ambion View 6/4, Modest form in trio of bumper starts but different proposition switched to this sphere, winning maiden here (18.5f) in October. Fell next time (travelling well at the time) and ran up to best when second in a Wincanton novice (15.2f) 3 weeks ago. Possibilities again. Course winner in October and ran well in defeat last month; likely contender again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() South Omo Zone |
(4) 9/4(+0%) | (4) South Omo Zone 9/4, Promising sort who landed bumper at Hereford for Anthony Charlton and followed up for his new handler in 8-runner novice at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) on hurdles bow 36 days ago. Has more to offer so he's a likely player. Impressed on last month's stable/hurdle debut, winning readily by 8l at Wincanton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mythical Moon |
(3) 11/4(+17%) | (3) Mythical Moon 11/4, Fair form when runner-up on second of 2 starts in bumpers and took to this discipline well after 6 months off when bagging 14-runner novice hurdle at Stratford (16.3f, good to soft) in October. Solid placed efforts have followed over C&D/Doncaster since and he ought to be thereabouts again. Placed twice (once over C&D) since beating a subsequent Grade 2 winner on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Close Combat |
(8) 12/1(+14%) | (8) Close Combat 12/1, Well-beaten on his only start in bumpers but C&D hurdles debut effort not without hope and he duly took a step forward when second of 6 in juvenile hurdle at Chepstow (16f, heavy) 24 days ago. That may not prove his limit and he's in receipt of weight all round here. Well held over C&D on hurdle debut but was second against own age-group two weeks later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Zainy Champ |
(7) 16/1(+52%) | (7) Zainy Champ 16/1, Hooded for debut, offered something to work on when third in 4-runner bumper at Doncaster (16.6f) on debut back in March. Represents a yard firmly amongst the winners now hurdling back from 11 months off and the betting can prove a useful guide. Third of four in Doncaster bumper last March; not seen again since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Berkshire Lad |
(5) 50/1(-79%) | (5) Berkshire Lad 50/1, Fair form in bumpers and showed benefit of hurdles debut experience when third of 10 in maiden at Southwell (15.8f) 18 days ago. Needs to take another step forward if he's to feature here, though. Improved form when placed in Southwell maiden this month; not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Stinginhisstep |
(6) 250/1(-25%) | (6) Stinginhisstep 250/1, Headstrong sort who finished down the field all 3 starts in bumpers and similar story when midfield in 12-runner novice hurdle at Chepstow (2m) 12 days ago, tiring 2 out. Best watched. Displayed some promise before weakening on hurdle debut; needs to learn to settle. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
It's hard to rule out any of the penalised runners, and only marginal preference can be afforded to SOUTH OMO ZONE. On target in a Hereford bumper in January of last year, the son of Court Cave was able to defy an absence to make a sparkling stable/hurdling bow at Wincanton last month. He holds a speculative Grade 1 entry at Cheltenham next month and looks a nice prospect. Mythical Moon (third) was defeated by Kap Vert (winner) over C&D in December but can close the gap on 6lb better terms.
SOUTH OMO ZONE has few miles on the clock and made a smooth transition to hurdling when successful on yard debut at Wincanton 5 weeks ago. Open to improvement, he's narrowly selected to follow up. Mythical Moon and Kap Vert may be the pair to give Olly Murphy's 7-y-o most to think about.
The most interesting runner is SOUTH OMO ZONE, who won stylishly on last month's stable/hurdle debut at Wincanton.

![]() Stans The Man |
(4) 5/2(+55%) | (4) Stans The Man 5/2, Done well since switched back to fences, landing 4-runner C&D handicap in November prior to following up at Doncaster (3¼m, good) later that month. Ran right up to best when second at Wincanton over Christmas and respected once more despite career-high mark. Won twice when blinkers were added in November and ran big race in defeat on Boxing Day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Atlanta Brave |
(5) 11/4(+17%) | (5) Atlanta Brave 11/4, Irish point winner who scored twice over hurdles in January 2023. Initially took well to fences last term but disappointing on the whole in 4 attempts this time around, including in cheekpieces (retained here) last 2 starts. Mark has eased further at least. Promising novice chase last season but not firing on all cylinders this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Alcedo |
(3) 11/4(-38%) | (3) Alcedo 11/4, Lightly-raced bumper/hurdles winner who was clearly all the better for his return/chase debut run here when winning 8-runner Ffos Las handicap chase (19.4f) 2 weeks ago, knuckling down well to get up late. This trip expected to be within range and definite claims up 4 lb. Kept on well to snatch narrow win over an extended 2m3f and can improve again over 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Largy Poet |
(1) 3/1(-9%) | (1) Largy Poet 3/1, Maiden/novice hurdle winner who was only just denied on handicap bow at Huntingdon last term. Much better for return when fifth at Wincanton and this chasing type (runner-up in Irish point) needs considering. 2-6 in hurdles; drops in grade for chase debut and has Irish point experience to call upon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Karuma Grey |
(2) 16/1(-14%) | (2) Karuma Grey 16/1, Defied huge odds on the back of another stable switch when making a winning return in 9-runner Ffos Las handicap chase (21.5f) in December. However, ran no sort of race in follow-up bid when tailed-off last of 4 at Leicester (22.7f) 31 days ago. Steps up in trip now. Caused 100-1 shock on stable debut in December but ran no race on his latest outing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Alcedo didn't show much on his chasing bow, but it was a different story at Ffos Las next time where he recorded a narrow success. Venetia Williams' charge is 4lb higher and must be respected, but the vote goes to STANS THE MAN. Ella Pickard's eight-year-old came up just short in his hat-trick bid at Wincanton on Boxing Day but may well have more to offer. Largy Poet heads the remainder.
ALCEDO left his reappearance effort well behind when making his second chase start a winning one at Ffos Las 15 days ago, knuckling down well to edge ahead in the dying strides. Looking the type to progress further and still unexposed at this sort of trip, he looks to hold sound claims again from this 4 lb higher mark. C&D winner Stans The Man did well returned to this sphere late last year and he, along with chase debutant Largy Poet, can provide chief resistance.
Recent 2m3f chase winner ALCEDO looks well worth another crack at 3m and gets the nod.

![]() Don't Rightly Know |
(1) 13/8(-9%) | (1) Don't Rightly Know 13/8, Lightly-raced 10-y-o who was consistent rather than progressive over hurdles but this point winner took a big step forward when making a winning chase bow over C&D on return and went forward again when following up in similar event to this at Newbury last month. Penalised here but has more to come. Late-maturing front-runner who dominated in this grade at Newbury last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() La Malmason |
(5) 11/4(-100%) | (5) La Malmason 11/4, Has returned an improved model this season, winning 9-runner handicap chase at Fairyhouse before an excellent second in listed handicap at Limerick over Christmas. Obvious chance on these terms if seeing out longer trip. Creditable second of 14 in 2m3f Listed handicap in December; big player if new trip suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Malina Girl |
(2) 11/2(+15%) | (2) Malina Girl 11/2, Useful chaser but she has failed to recapture her best since falling at Cheltenham last winter. Should at least be sharper now after her comeback run at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day. Won valuable Cheltenham handicap in November 2023 but has not been in the same form since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ilovethenightlife |
(3) 10/1(+50%) | (3) Ilovethenightlife 10/1, A fairly useful winning hurdler who built on an encouraging chase debut when landing a Kempton handicap in November. Found out in better company since, however, and looks up against it again. Won Kempton handicap in the autumn but has a bit to find here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lady Balko |
(4) 16/1(-14%) | (4) Lady Balko 16/1, Improved for the switch to fences this term, completing hat-trick of handicap wins at Hereford. However, last 2 starts have been poor and headgear now applied. Enjoyed productive 2024 (six wins) but suffered a worrying slump in form last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Gavin Cromwell appears to hold a strong hand with last year's runner-up Malina Girl and La Malmason. The latter, who receives 4lb from her stablemate whilst being rated 2lb superior, is perhaps the trainer's best chance, but it's DON'T RIGHTLY KNOW who shades preference. The 10-year-old bolted up over C&D on her chasing bow in December before claiming Listed honours at Newbury latest and, with further progress likely, the hat-trick is very much on the cards.
This looks between thriving mares DON'T RIGHTLY KNOW and La Malmason, with slight preference for the former with her stamina proven over this far.
Preference is for thriving front-runner DON'T RIGHTLY KNOW (nap) who has won over C&D and in this grade this winter..

![]() Jacks Parrot |
(5) 4/1(-33%) | (5) Jacks Parrot 4/1, Has improved since joining this yard, winning at Uttoxeter and Perth in April, and upped his game further when good second in Tommy Whittle at Haydock in December. Not disgraced at Newcastle since but may need testing ground to be seen to best effect. Creditable second in Tommy Whittle in December; big player in first marathon chase. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Art Decco |
(2) 9/2(+10%) | (2) Art Decco 9/2, Resumed progress on his return when narrowly failing to complete a 4-timer in C&D event in December. Creditable fifth to Planned Paradise off 5 lb higher at Windsor since and should be in the mix again. Ended last season with three wins and ran big race in defeat over C&D on December return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Neo King |
(9) 5/1(+17%) | (9) Neo King 5/1, Multiple point winner who made first real impact for this yard when third on handicap chase debut here (3m) last month. Return to better ground will be a help over this longer trip and he's one to consider. Good third over 3m here on handicap chase debut; looks interesting over new trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pimlico Point |
(4) 11/2(+21%) | (4) Pimlico Point 11/2, Low-mileage 8-y-o who got off the mark in this sphere in 4-runner handicap here a year ago. Very nearly added to that at Uttoxeter in May and easy to excuse his comeback run at Taunton 17 days ago. Not taken lightly in first-time headgear over a trip which should suit. Safely held this month, after layoff, but has a chance if judged on last spring's form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Planned Paradise |
(6) 6/1(+8%) | (6) Planned Paradise 6/1, Perth winner in July and resumed winning ways at Windsor last month, looking suited by the return to a marathon trip (jumped better than usual). Respected for all he's not an obvious type to follow up. Produced good performance at Windsor (3m4f) last month and recent 5lb rise is manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gold Clermont |
(8) 6/1(+33%) | (8) Gold Clermont 6/1, Won a couple of staying chases at Fakenham and Fontwell last season and returned to form fitted with this headgear when third at Bangor 2 weeks ago. Needs to build on that in this better race, though. Returned to form over 3m this month and today's move back up in trip is sure to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fortescue |
(1) 9/1(-20%) | (1) Fortescue 9/1, Winless for 3 years and poor efforts last 2 starts after a decent return. This veteran is not easy to recommend. Began season with pretty good second but well held twice since; younger rivals preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Good Work |
(7) 14/1(-56%) | (7) Good Work 14/1, Finally off the mark at Uttoxeter last month, another good effort under this rider. However, 3 lb higher mark in better race makes him easy enough to take on. Belatedly off the mark over fences last month (3m2f); tries a new trip here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
PLANNED PARADISE impressed when running out a comfortable winner at Windsor over an extended 3m4f last month and he was showing no signs of stopping over the trip. Upped 5lb with his stamina drawn out further, he gets the vote to go in again for a yard which tends to excel with these types. Fellow last-time-out winner Good Work can emerge as the main danger upped 3lb for an authoritative display over 3m2f at Uttoxeter, while Fortescue could go well too.
PIMLICO POINT is an interesting contender stepping up in distance and could be the answer in what looks an open staying contest. Neo King shaped much better than he had been doing over hurdles when third here last month and he can progress again under less testing conditions.
Pretty good cases can be made for most of these but NEO KING probably still has potential and is given the vote.

![]() Ascending Lark |
(1) 4/6(+47%) | (1) Ascending Lark 4/6, Made it 3-3 over hurdles since joining Harry Derham when seeing off 4 rivals in 17f Newcastle handicap on reappearance 24 days ago. Would have been a more convincing winner but for mistakes at the last 2 flights and likely still well treated after a 4 lb rise. 3-3 over hurdles and could still be ahead of the game after recent 4lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Shantwopointfive |
(3) 11/8(+8%) | (3) Shantwopointfive 11/8, Irish point winner who landed a 2¾m Cartmel maiden hurdle last May. Only fifth in Leicester handicap on her return in December but resumed her progression when readily seeing off 10 rivals in 20.5f Southwell handicap 18 days ago. Likely more to come but shorter trip now asks a different question. 2-4 over hurdles after emphatic 2m4f success this month; drops back in trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Presenting Nelly |
(4) 25/1(+50%) | (4) Presenting Nelly 25/1, Disappointing in 4 outings since a promising reappearance, the last 2 for new trainer Alison Thorpe. Out of form for Dan Skelton in the autumn and twice well beaten for new yard this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SHANTWOPOINTFIVE looks a handicap hurdler very much on the up and, on the back of a bloodless victory over an extended 2m4f at Southwell earlier this month, she gets the nod to go in again despite an 8lb rise. Ascending Lark had more in hand than the winning margin suggests when scoring over 2m1f at Newcastle last month and she commands respect, likewise Masked Dance.
ASCENDING LARK can make light of a 4 lb rise and extend her unbeaten record since joining Harry Derham to 4. Shantwopointfive also brings a progressive profile but does need to prove she's as effective over this shorter trip, a comment which also applies to Masked Dance.
Raised only 4lb since fending off a plucky rival at Newcastle last month, ASCENDING LARK can remain unbeaten over hurdles.

![]() Diamatiste |
(4) 9/2(+44%) | (4) Diamatiste 9/2, Came in a very good second of 18 over C&D in December. Not in quite the same form when fifth of 9 at Ffos Las 6 weeks ago but a player if bouncing back to the level of the C&D run. 0-7 over hurdles but his clear second of 18 over C&D in December was a good effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Native Moon |
(9) 5/1(+0%) | (9) Native Moon 5/1, Pair of creditable efforts in 3m Taunton handicaps since joining Jeremy Scott, although he did make rather heavy weather of things when third in first-time cheekpieces (retained) last time. Ran well in 3m Taunton handicaps on first two stable starts; can play another big role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Kingston Gent |
(3) 11/2(+27%) | (3) Kingston Gent 11/2, Point winner who has shown a fair level of ability in maiden/novice hurdles this winter and may have more to offer in handicaps. Quite promising fifth in Taunton novice last month; makes handicap debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Speiriuil |
(5) 6/1(+33%) | (5) Speiriuil 6/1, Got off the mark at Lingfield (19.5f) in November and looked set to follow up when unseating last at Huntingdon in January. Shaped as if still in form when fourth at Sandown since. Considered. Unlucky not to complete a double last month and again ran well on latest outing; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Inchagoill Lady |
(16) 17/2(+53%) | (16) Inchagoill Lady 17/2, Reached the frame 3 times this winter, including a 23f course hurdle, but he ran poorly in a Fontwell chase last time. Pulled up in a marathon chase last month and now 0-15 under all codes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Chauffeur Driven |
(14) 17/2(+66%) | (14) Chauffeur Driven 17/2, Beaten 22 lengths when third over C&D on New Year's Day and well held at Chepstow on latest start 12 days ago. A change of headgear (first-time visor for cheekpieces) needs to make a difference. Kept on for modest third over C&D on New Year's Day but two lesser efforts have followed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wot You Wearing |
(12) 12/1(+25%) | (12) Wot You Wearing 12/1, Made an encouraging start to present campaign when just touched off in 25.5f Hereford handicap but hasn't backed it up, finishing down the field over C&D last month. A subsequent wind operation needs to help spark a revival. Triple hurdle winner in 2023 but out of form lately; needs wind op to have made difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cooleenymore |
(6) 14/1(-56%) | (6) Cooleenymore 14/1, Course chase winner last April who was also successful over hurdles at Hereford the following month. Encouraging return from 6 months off when fifth of 16 over fences at Stratford in October but ran no sort of race at Chepstow 3 weeks later. Back hurdling after a short break. Chase/hurdle winner last spring but absent since a poor run (over fences) in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Storming Nelson |
(11) 16/1(+0%) | (11) Storming Nelson 16/1, Winner of a 17f course novice last January but has offered little in 5 subsequent handicap starts. 2m novice winner in early 2024 but soundly beaten in all five subsequent handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Jubilee Gold |
(10) 18/1(-29%) | (10) Jubilee Gold 18/1, Lightly-raced hurdle winner who placed 3 times in handicaps last spring but was in the process of running below form when unseating 3 out at Ffos Las in May. Off 9 months. Placed three times towards end of last season but has fitness to prove after 282-day break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Oneandahalfdegrees |
(17) 20/1(+20%) | (17) Oneandahalfdegrees 20/1, Well held in maiden/novice hurdles. More realistic chance now handicapping from a basement mark but Nollyador looks the yard first string unless the betting suggests otherwise. Well beaten on all three hurdling starts but may yet deliver on bumper promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Back Yourself |
(13) 28/1(-12%) | (13) Back Yourself 28/1, A fair hurdles winner in 2023 but disappointing in a light career for David Pipe since, falling early back chasing here 16 days ago. Would need to see market support to consider. Pulled up over C&D on seasonal debut and fell early in a recent chase; hard to weigh up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Johannes |
(15) 40/1(-21%) | (15) Johannes 40/1, A fair 2m Flat winner in France and off the mark over hurdles in 19f Taunton novice handicap last February. Pulled up on next 3 starts, though, and beaten 56 lengths when completing at Taunton last month. The mount of Jack Tudor from the David Pipe trio but still can't support with any confidence. Won on handicap debut just under a year ago but form has nosedived since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Giddy Up |
(18) 150/1(-50%) | (18) Giddy Up 150/1, No sign of ability, including pulling up on last month's Wincanton handicap debut for Kevin Bishop. Pulled up when 100-1 for recent stable/handicap debut and effectively 5lb higher here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NATIVE MOON has done well since joining the Jeremy Scott stable, performing with credit at Taunton the last twice over 3m. Dropping in trip may work the oracle as he looks to get off the mark, with Fontwell scorer Shuil Ceoil looking best placed to chase him home off 6lb higher. Fierce Warrior has claims on his penultimate effort at Doncaster, while Speiriuil is a capable sort on her day.
SPEIRIUIL shaped as if still in good form when fourth at Sandown last month and might prove the answer to this open handicap now back in a lower grade. Shuil Ceoil, a last-time-out winner, and December's C&D runner-up Diamatiste are possible dangers, while Kingston Glen is an unexposed sort who could take a step forward now handicapping.
This might go to NOLLYADOR, who is very lightly raced for his age and returned from a long absence with a pleasing run in December.

![]() Uptown Dandy |
(11) 2/1(+20%) | (11) Uptown Dandy 2/1, Made a promising start to his career when second in a C&D bumper (heavy) last month. Should go well again. Clear second to a subsequent Listed runner-up on debut over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() The Blue Room |
(10) 9/4(+32%) | (10) The Blue Room 9/4, Runner-up sole start in Irish points and shaped encouragingly when filling the same position in a soft-ground Aintree bumper on his Rules debut over Christmas. Big player. Split two previous winners when second at Aintree on rules debut in December; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() It's Top |
(1) 13/2(-8%) | (1) It's Top 13/2, Won a point bumper last April and followed up in a Chepstow bumper on Rules debut, holding on gamely. Didn't see his race out anywhere near as well when seventh of 14 in Ascot listed race 6 weeks later but should play a prominent role back in calmer waters. Well held in Listed race last time but form of earlier Chepstow win puts him in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Claim The Throne |
(4) 25/1(+62%) | (4) Claim The Throne 25/1, Runner-up on last of 3 starts in Irish points but only modest form in a couple of bumpers before Christmas. Harry Cobden up but Walk Tall still likely the stable first string unless the betting hints otherwise. Second rules run was probably better than his debut but he needs to improve again here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pop's Folly |
(8) 50/1(0%) | (8) Pop's Folly 50/1, 25/1, green when eighth of 13 on Chepstow debut in November. Needs to have improved in the 3 months since. Made some late headway but never looked dangerous when eighth at Chepstow in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Aceofadiamond |
(2) 125/1(+17%) | (2) Aceofadiamond 125/1, 20/1, well-held seventh of 12 in bumper at Bangor (soft) on debut last April. Can only watch. Unable to land a significant blow on debut at Bangor last April; not seen again since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A promising second on debut here last month when only worn down late in the piece, UPTOWN DANDY is likely to improve for that effort and his form sets the standard. The Blue Room went close himself on his Rules debut at Aintree and he is another open to progress, as well as It's Top, who drops in grade having finished down the field in a Listed race at Ascot in December.
Olly Murphy's THE BLUE ROOM is narrowly preferred to last month's C&D runner-up Uptown Dandy. It's Top weakened out of it in an Ascot listed last time but should get involved if back to the level of his Chepstow win. Point recruit Walk Tall would also need considering if the betting speaks in his favour.
The Blue Room is respected but UPTOWN DANDY bumped into a useful rival here last month and is given the verdict today.
Ths is the racecard key.
