1st (9) (8/1 +6%) Bug Boy |
8/1(+6%) | (9) Bug Boy 8/1, Doing his best work at the finish when fourth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 9/1) 17 days ago. Returns to turf 1 lb below his last winning mark and warrants plenty of respect. Ran respectably on latest start; well handicapped on last summer's form and is one to note. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/1 -13%) Captain Haddock |
9/1(-13%) | (5) Captain Haddock 9/1, Yet to build on encouraging Doncaster return in a couple of starts on quicker ground but has a victory over this C&D on his CV and figures off a handy mark. Blinkers back on. Close second at Doncaster (1m4f, soft) on reappearance but well beaten both starts since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/1 +18%) Ghadbbaan |
7/1(+18%) | (6) Ghadbbaan 7/1, Dual winner at up to 2m last season and posted solid efforts on first 3 starts this term. Latest below-par run probably best excused but he may find this trip on the sharp side. Tailed off latest outing; unraced over this short a trip for over a year; none too solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (2.5/1 +44%) Lucky's Dream |
2.5/1(+44%) | (8) Lucky's Dream 2.5/1, Stepped up on reappearance run when close second of 9 in handicap at Newbury (11f, good to firm, 15/2) 8 days ago. Can race off same mark and holds strong claims. Absent 627 days before this season; went close at Newbury (1m3f) last Tuesday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (8.5/1 +0%) Lady Reset |
8.5/1(+0%) | (3) Lady Reset 8.5/1, Acquitted herself well in both starts on level this year, latest when fourth of 7 in handicap (16/1) at Goodwood (12f, good) 12 days ago, slowly away. Not out of things. Seems best on good or firmer; beaten a neck in this race last year off 3lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 +44%) Glen Again |
14/1(+44%) | (4) Glen Again 14/1, Dual winner in 2021 for Mark Johnston but missed whole of last year and has failed to beat a rival home in either start for new connections this term. Missed 2022; finished last on both starts this year, with cheekpieces enlisted last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (4/1 -20%) Tessy Lad |
4/1(-20%) | (1) Tessy Lad 4/1, Back to winning ways (dead-heated) when taking 12-runner handicap under this pilot at Newbury (10f, firm) last month. Just as effective over this longer trip and must enter calculations. Fruitful 2022 at 1m2f-1m4f; dead-heated for first under Taryn Langley at Newbury latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (6/1 -100%) Tralee Hills |
6/1(-100%) | (2) Tralee Hills 6/1, Resumed winning ways when landing 13-runner handicap at Bath (14f, good to soft, 6/1) 75 days ago. Won this event (off 8 lb lower) 2 years ago and is one for the shortlist. Won this 2021 with Serena Brotherton; won latest; softer than good suits now when at 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (40/1 -60%) They Don't Know |
40/1(-60%) | (7) They Don't Know 40/1, Posted several creditable efforts this year but remains a maiden after 23 Flat starts and he may find a couple too good again here. Seven seconds but has never won in his 23 starts; has raced over this far only twice. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
TRALEE HILLS bounced back to form with a comfortable success at Bath in April and, given a break since, Simon Hodgson's charge can notch up a second win in this contest, having prevailed under Serena Brotherton in 2021. The nine-year-old may have too much for fellow C&D scorer Captain Haddock and Tessy Lad, who has won over this trip before and shared the spoils over 1m2f at Newbury last time out.
LUCKY'S DREAM pulled clear of the remainder when a good second at Newbury last week and makes fair appeal off the same mark. Tessy Lad and Tralee Hills head the list of dangers in what looks a competitive opener.
Several need to be taken very seriously and the ground could be important. BUG BOY looks tempting on the form he showed last summer.

1st (2) (3.5/1 +0%) Sahara Kitten |
3.5/1(+0%) | (2) Sahara Kitten 3.5/1, Held back by inexperience when fourth of 8 in minor event at Beverley (7.4f, soft) on debut 15 days ago. Likely improver with that run under his belt. Promising fourth on Beverley debut; was behind Cloud Free but may be able to turn tables. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (1.88/1 +32%) Vaha |
1.88/1(+32%) | (3) Vaha 1.88/1, Thrice-raced gelding. Found improvement when close second of 7 in maiden at Lingfield (7f, good to firm, 7/2) 11 days ago, running on. May be capable of better yet. Went close at Lingfield 11 days ago on his third start and he's a key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/1 +38%) Marefuori |
10/1(+38%) | (4) Marefuori 10/1, Foaled March 4. €48,000 foal, €35,000 yearling, Australia colt. Closely related to winner abroad by The Gurkha. Wears tongue strap. Market check advised on debut. Trainer's 2yo newcomers have been going well this season and he's one to be interested in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (4/1 +33%) Compton Bay |
4/1(+33%) | (5) Compton Bay 4/1, Foaled April 13. 18,000 gns yearling, New Bay colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including 1¼m winner Bleak and 1m winner Forward Flight. Dam 1m winner (including at 2 yrs). Interesting newcomer. 18,000gns yearling; half-brother to three winners; no surprise to see a bold show on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (80/1 +20%) Top Up |
80/1(+20%) | (6) Top Up 80/1, Foaled February 7. 5,000 gns foal, Havana Gold filly. Dam lightly-raced half-sister to very smart 5f/6f winner Gilt Edge Girl. Yard's first juvenile runner this season. 5,000gns yearling; fifth foal; dam placed 5f (RPR 68); may be best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (3/1 -100%) Cloud Free |
3/1(-100%) | (1) Cloud Free 3/1, Making his racecourse debut when narrow second of 8 in minor event at Beverley (7.4f, soft) 15 days ago. Should improve from that and holds strong claims. Went close on debut at Beverley a fortnight ago and holds leading form claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
VAHA has shown marked improvement with each start, and he looks the one to beat if building upon an excellent effort at Lingfield when narrowly denied on his first go at this trip. Cloud Free ran a stormer on debut when second at Beverley and he must enter calculations along with Sahara Kitten, who finished a length and a half behind him in fourth on the Westwood.
VAHA has improved with each start and is taken to open his account at the fourth time of asking. Cloud Free and Sahara Kitten should have learnt plenty from their debut efforts and are much respected.
Cloud Free finished ahead of SAHARA KITTEN at Beverley when they made their debuts but the last-named is taken to turn the tables.

1st (2) (11/1 -38%) Indian Creak |
11/1(-38%) | (2) Indian Creak 11/1, Strong in betting and stepped up on his comeback run to score readily at Windsor (6f, soft) in May. Filled the frame next 2 starts but been operating some way below best since, last of 6 in handicap at Goodwood (6f) 24 days ago. Course winner; quiet the last twice but dangerous if back to his Windsor form from May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (4.5/1 +63%) Dream For Gold |
4.5/1(+63%) | (9) Dream For Gold 4.5/1, Fairly useful form at 2 yrs and he showed improved form to make a winning return in an AW novice (5f) in February. Had wind op, never figured from a poor draw at Beverley (5f) last month but too soon to be writing him off. Steps back up in trip now. Interesting on his best form; this his 2nd run after a wind op; returns to 6f; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (3/1 +10%) Havana Pusey |
3/1(+10%) | (7) Havana Pusey 3/1, Havana Grey filly who produced a promising first effort when second at Brighton (5.2f) in May and built on that to score at Nottingham (6f) 4 weeks later, doing it pretty convincingly. Unable to land a blow when fourth at listed level latest and this more suitable now handicapping. Unexposed filly who ran well in the face of stiff task latest; return to 6f in her favour. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6.5/1 +13%) Tyger Bay |
6.5/1(+13%) | (6) Tyger Bay 6.5/1, 4-time winner on AW during 2022 and largely consistent since the turn of this year, shaping better than bare result when fifth in 9-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (6f) latest. Equally effective on turf and the handicapper is slowly relinquishing his grip. One to note. In good form on AW over the winter; had an excuse latest; others more convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/1 -80%) Society Lion |
9/1(-80%) | (5) Society Lion 9/1, Confirmed promise of his AW reappearance when landing 11-runner Thirsk handicap (6f, heavy) in April and hard to knock his subsequent efforts, third at Yarmouth (6f) 4 weeks ago. Versatile as regards ground and expected to give another good account. Having a good season and a repeat of his penultimate Newmarket 2nd would give him claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (3.5/1 +13%) Lil Guff |
3.5/1(+13%) | (1) Lil Guff 3.5/1, Likeable filly who arrives at the top of her game, landing handicaps at Bath/Sandown prior to a solid second from this career-high mark at Haydock (5f) 11 days ago. Effective at this longer trip and hard to discount in this groove. In good form over 5f of late; stays 6f well and she's a contender in current form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (9/1 +36%) Lord Rapscallion |
9/1(+36%) | (4) Lord Rapscallion 9/1, Bagged pair of 7f Chelmsford handicaps in December and went in again in change of headgear at Newmarket (7f) in May (arguably a shade fortunate). Did too much too soon when well held over 7f here 33 days ago but his mark does look about right on balance. 7f win at Newmarket in May but less good over that trip here latest; rare 6f run today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (7.5/1 -36%) Rocking Ends |
7.5/1(-36%) | (3) Rocking Ends 7.5/1, 3-time winner as a juvenile who bounced back to best returned to a faster surface when runner-up in 3-y-o handicap at Windsor (6f) 2 starts back. Not at best in big-field affair at Royal Ascot subsequently but this more suitable for all he wouldn't too much rain to arrive. Struggled at Royal Ascot latest but earlier Windsor 2nd was a fine run; easy lead unlikely. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
LIL GUFF is in a rich vein of form at present, despite her winning run coming to an end at Haydock last month. William Buick getting back on board is a big plus, though, and the step up in trip has the potential to eke out further improvement, with the unexposed Havana Pusey looking best placed to chase her home. Indian Creak and Society Lion have the form to get involved as well.
This looks wide open and with that in mind it could just pay to take a chance on TYGER BAY. He shaped better than the bare result on his latest outing at Wolverhampton 30 days ago and, from an easing mark, it would come as no surprise to see a good showing, particularly if any rain arrives. Lil Guff is enjoying a good campaign and is feared along with Rocking Ends. Havana Pusey also remains the type to do better.
Society Lion is in good form and can go well but LIL GUFF (nap) was in the form of her life last month and she can go in again.

Ernie's Valentine |
(2) (10/1 -54%)10/1(-54%) | (2) Ernie's Valentine 10/1, Eleven runs since his last win in 2021 but has produced two of his better efforts on turf this season, placing at Goodwood and Leicester (both at 7f) in May/June. Not ideally placed at Newmarket (6f) 11 days ago, so no surprise to see him bounce back. Return to 7f can help & he's slowly edging down the weights; should have a big run in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Poet's Magic |
(7) (22/1 +33%)22/1(+33%) | (7) Poet's Magic 22/1, Successful at Chester last year and runner-up twice later in the summer. Looked rusty after 8 months off when down the field at Catterick in May, so she needs to step forward from her return (has run well at this C&D in the past). On a competitive mark and should leave May's low-key return well behind her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (12) (12/1 +25%) Be Prepared |
12/1(+25%) | (12) Be Prepared 12/1, Having dropped further in the weights, ran better than for a while when second at Brighton (7f) 15 days ago. Now goes back up in grade, but he's not one to write off from his current mark. Back to form when 2nd in a Brighton Class 6 recently; more on his plate today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (16/1 +0%) G'daay |
16/1(+0%) | (9) G'daay 16/1, Four-time winner last year and, with a visor applied, turned in his best effort of the current season when fifth of 12 at Kempton (7f) 3 weeks ago. Task is now to build on that back on turf. Good 5th behind Zero Carbon on AW latest (visor first time); turf record less good though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (12/1 -20%) Little Boy Blue |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Little Boy Blue 12/1, Having dropped below his last winning mark, built on the promise of his previous run when gaining a battling success at Chepstow (7.1f) last time. Remains on a workable mark and he can be thereabouts once again. Has run well here before and comes here on the back of a Chepstow win; high in weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (2.75/1 +8%) Marlay Park |
2.75/1(+8%) | (6) Marlay Park 2.75/1, Three-time C&D winner who confirmed his return to form when third in handicap here at the beginning of June. Has been going the right way with each outing this season, so could be ready to score again back down in grade. Goes well at this track and ran well in a better race over C&D on Oaks day; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (6.5/1 +19%) Kimifive |
6.5/1(+19%) | (10) Kimifive 6.5/1, Gained his first win in over 3 years at this C&D last summer and ran well at Carlisle next time. Struggled back up in grade at Ascot on his final start of 2022, but probably needed the run at Newbury on his return 20 days ago. Remains well treated on old form. C&D winner last summer; satisfactory return last month; capable of going well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (5/1 +50%) Global Esteem |
5/1(+50%) | (8) Global Esteem 5/1, Won at Leicester and Sandown in 2022 and back to the form of his reappearance run when third of 5 in handicap at Windsor (8.1f) 16 days ago. Had the run of the race last time, though, and unlikely to get an easy lead on this occasion. Running creditably in defeat this year but he'll need to raise his game a level to win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (6/1 +8%) Woodstock |
6/1(+8%) | (11) Woodstock 6/1, Recorded back-to-back wins on the all-weather (both at 1m) earlier this year and got back on the up when second at Ffos Las (7.4f) 10 days ago, bumping into a handicap debutant. Could still have more to offer at this trip. Two 1m AW wins this winter; best handicap run when 2nd at Ffos Las recently; down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (10/1 +29%) Above |
10/1(+29%) | (4) Above 10/1, Hasn't won for a while but took a step back in the right direction when third at Leicester (7f) last month. Unsuited by emphasis on speed when fifth at Newmarket (6f) 11 days ago, so could fare better returned to this longer trip. Should be competitive off his lowly mark & penultimate effort was sound; less good latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (5.5/1 -10%) Zero Carbon |
5.5/1(-10%) | (1) Zero Carbon 5.5/1, Returned to prominent tactics, bounced back to his best when winning 12-runner handicap at Kempton (7f) 3 weeks ago. Competitive off this mark at the end of last season, so he's not taken lightly with cheekpieces now reapplied. Up 5lb for a snug Kempton success; could still have more to offer & one to take seriously. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LITTLE BOY BLUE showed a good attitude when fending off a subsequent easy winner at Chepstow and with a 3lb rise deemed lenient, he gets the vote to follow up. Marlay Park has a fine record at this unique track, winning here three times, and emerged with plenty of credit when placed in a 0-100 handicap over C&D most recently. Dropped 1lb in the ratings since, he must enter calculations, while Zero Carbon and Woodstock also merit consideration.
MARLAY PARK again ran well at this course when third here a month ago and, back down in grade, he can build on that to record a fourth C&D success. Heading the list of dangers is Zero Carbon, who bounced back to his best when scoring at Kempton last time, while Little Boy Blue can also give another good account.
Course regular Marlay Park is greatly respected but ZERO CARBON is preferred on the back of a snug win at Kempton.

1st (2) (2.25/1 +70%) Sweet Reward |
2.25/1(+70%) | (2) Sweet Reward 2.25/1, Losing run stretches back to September 2021 but he's posted a number of solid efforts in defeat during the intervening period, not least when just touched off at Newbury (1¼m, good to firm) in May. Not in the same form at Sandown since but back down 2 lb and he's not without hope. So nearly back on the scoresheet at Newbury this May, followed by a lesser effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3.33/1 +17%) Wandering Rocks |
3.33/1(+17%) | (1) Wandering Rocks 3.33/1, Off the mark in 1¼m Doncaster novice last July and followed that with a couple of creditable efforts in handicap company. Didn't shape at all badly on return at Kempton and, though well held both starts over 1½m since, he may well bounce back down in the weights, class and trip here. Well beaten on three of his last four starts and finished only seventh of 13 in the other. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (6/1 +14%) Nonsuch Lad |
6/1(+14%) | (10) Nonsuch Lad 6/1, Bagged a couple of handicaps over this trip last season and arrives here on the back of creditable efforts at Sandown and Goodwood. Has his quirks but the ability is certainly there and he has to enter calculations. Bit to find on course form but last two outings put him firmly in the picture. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (4.5/1 +18%) At Liberty |
4.5/1(+18%) | (6) At Liberty 4.5/1, Back-to-back winner of handicaps over this trip last term and, having shaped better than bare result on a couple of occasions during the spring, he got back on the scoresheet at Haydock (10.2f, good to firm) last time. 3 lb rise fair enough and no surprise if he's in the shake-up. Two 1m2f wins last October and another when he led on the post at Haydock three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (12/1 +52%) The Conqueror |
12/1(+52%) | (8) The Conqueror 12/1, Yet to get his head in front on these shores and while he didn't shape badly on return/debut for new yard on the AW in April, his subsequent efforts have not been particularly encouraging. Yard also saddles Nonsuch Lad. Ex-German winner; fourth British start; down the weights and needs a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (14/1 -17%) Dotties Star |
14/1(-17%) | (9) Dotties Star 14/1, Fair form in a trio of bumpers and, though comfortably held in 3 starts in this sphere at up to 8.5f, improvement may well be forthcoming now that he moves up in trip for this handicap debut. Ran in three bumpers and three 1m Flat races; handicap debut may see him in a better light. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (6.5/1 +54%) Enough Already |
6.5/1(+54%) | (4) Enough Already 6.5/1, Returned to form when accounting for 6 rivals over a mile on the AW at Lingfield in May. Not disgraced back on turf at Brighton since and return to this trip may not be a bad thing, plus he has the assistance of William Buick, but others preferred all the same. Last seen over this far (won once on Lingfield AW) in 2021 and the trip poses a question. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
AT LIBERTY gamely beat a useful yardstick in Arranmore at Haydock and although he hasn't got the most consistent profile, Michael Bell's gelding should remain competitive off a 3lb higher mark if arriving in the same mood. Similar comments apply to Eklil but, again, he comes here in winning form and appears to hold leading claims. Aidan Keeley will likely be taking his time on the keen-going Nonsuch Lad and that pairing could run into a place.
It could be worth chancing WANDERING ROCKS, who is now 8 lb lower compared to when beaten less than 3 lengths on his reappearance at Kempton and this drop back in trip looks a good move having struggled at the business end in 1½m handicaps since. Last-time-out winners Eklil and At Liberty are live dangers, while Nonsuch Lad is another to consider. Also worthy of mention is Dotties Star, who hasn't shown much in maiden/novice company but is likely to be seen in a better light now handicapping.
Top of the list is AT LIBERTY, who has run well in the big majority of his handicaps, followed by Wonder Starelzaam and Eklil.

1st (1) (3.5/1 +65%) Daphne May |
3.5/1(+65%) | (1) Daphne May 3.5/1, Latest win at Bath in April. Failed to justify support when sixth of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW) 23 days ago and seemed to find her stamina stretched on her only previous outing over a similar trip, so others preferred despite booking of Loughnane. Wins over 1m (AW) and 1m2f (soft) this year but there's a stamina doubt over 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (4.5/1 -13%) Iconic Mover |
4.5/1(-13%) | (11) Iconic Mover 4.5/1, Runner-up on his last 2 outings, finishing clear of the remainder when ½-length second of 4 to Cloudy Rose in handicap at Brighton (11.9f, soft) 15 days ago. Better off at the weights this time and is expected to be bang there. 0-20; three 2nds and he made Cloudy Rose dig deep in a four-runner race at Brighton latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/1 +56%) Lunar Shadow |
4/1(+56%) | (3) Lunar Shadow 4/1, Won at Lingfield in March and has held form well in defeat since, posting another solid effort at that course when third of 9 in handicap there (12f, AW) 29 days ago. Record on turf is unconvincing but she arrives in good heart. Turf record asks a question but she's been running well on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (20/1 -43%) Angels Roc |
20/1(-43%) | (7) Angels Roc 20/1, Won here and at Brighton last season but hasn't been able to show any sort of form this season, slow starts putting him on the back foot on both outings (also bled last time). Risky proposition at present. 1m2f win here (last August); 1m4f record is a concern; pulled up on latest start (bled). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (10/1 +38%) Irezumi |
10/1(+38%) | (12) Irezumi 10/1, Only modest form in 5 starts to date and didn't appear to stay the trip when tenth of 17 in handicap at Newbury (10f, good) 47 days ago, so additional distance here is a greater concern. Not much to show for his five outings; tenth of 17 when upped to 1m2f at Newbury latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (5.5/1 -22%) Ship To Shore |
5.5/1(-22%) | (6) Ship To Shore 5.5/1, Took advantage of a gradually falling mark to finally shed his maiden tag in a 12-runner handicap at Southwell (14.1f) 22 days ago. Still very lightly raced on turf but he's a player dropping back in trip from only a 4 lb higher mark. 12th attempt when off the mark (1m6f, AW) latest; one piece of form from three turf runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (4.5/1 -35%) Cloudy Rose |
4.5/1(-35%) | (8) Cloudy Rose 4.5/1, Arrives here seeking 4-timer after a pair of wins at Brighton split by another success at Beverley. Produced a career-best effort in completing the hat-trick last time and showed a good attitude in doing so, so should be in the mix from a 3 lb higher mark. Off the mark at the 20th attempt and she's now won three in a row, all three at 1m4f. |

8th (4) (20/1 -100%) Cedar Rapids |
20/1(-100%) | (4) Cedar Rapids 20/1, Sole win came in Leopardstown claimer last summer. Doesn't arrive here in the best of form, beaten long before stamina came into play having a first try at this trip when sixth of 7 in handicap (25/1) at Thirsk (12f, soft) 15 days ago. Others preferred. Not discredited on stable/seasonal debut but well beaten in his two starts since. |

9th (2) (25/1 +50%) Iron Heart |
25/1(+50%) | (2) Iron Heart 25/1, Won selling hurdle on final start for David Pipe but has offered nothing in 5 starts on the level for this yard. His mark is tumbling but the last time he achieved much on Flat was in 2020. |

125/1(-89%) | (13) Delightfully Yours 125/1, Little sign of ability in varied events. No form claims after six races; wore cheekpieces on latest, now it's a visor. |

11th (9) (40/1 -60%) Savoy Brown |
40/1(-60%) | (9) Savoy Brown 40/1, Won minor event at Lingfield in March but wasn't in the same form after a 10-week break when only seventh of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (14f, 6/1) 27 days ago, despite being better placed than most. Others more persuasive. Three wins on Polytrack; turf form does not look good enough, admittedly in 2018 and 2019. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
CLOUDY ROSE will arrive brimming with confidence following three tenacious victories in a row and, despite a further 3lb rise, she looks the one to beat. John Berry's mare has yet to tackle Epsom but having a record of two from two around Brighton - another undulating track - is certainly encouraging. Lunar Shadow has every chance if she can translate her recent all-weather form to the turf, while Iconic Mover and Angels Roc are others to note.
ICONIC MOVER was beaten by the four-timer seeking Cloudy Rose at Brighton last time, but there was very little between the pair on that occasion and the small swing at the weights here may be enough for Pat Phelan's gelding to turn the tables. Ship To Shore finally got off the mark when scoring at Southwell last time and can complete the placings.
Having discovered the winning habit and shown a versatility regarding the ground, CLOUDY ROSE has a fair chance to win again.
Ths is the racecard key.
