17:30 Down Royal Handicap 5f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

An open-looking handicap to kick things off, in which LAND LOVER shades the verdict. With the blinkers back on and more aggressive tactics adopted, he ran out a comfortable winner over 6f at Sligo and remains open to improvement on just his fourth start for the shrewd Denis Hogan stable. He could be challenged for the lead again by Dark Enigma, who was third behind the selection at Sligo and demands respect under Shane Foley. Charles Atlas is one of a few more with claims.

DARK ENIGMA rook a big step forward when third to Land Lover at Sligo 16 days ago and on these 4 lb better terms, is just fancied to reverse that form. Of the rest, Platino Bianco is dangerous if repeating her effort in a kuch better race than this at Cork.

Land Rover essentially outstayed DARK ENIGMA at Sligo and the selection can gain his revenge back at 5f with a 4lb pull.

18:00 Down Royal Maiden 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Betula was a fine fourth behind Ylang Ylang on debut, which may have earned her a tilt at a Group 2. She came up short there, and was only fifth back in maiden company on her final run at two, but this isn't nearly as competitive. Even so, she is passed over in favour of KAILASA, who has race fitness on her side after offering plenty of encouragement at the Curragh and Limerick. Better is predicted from Labhaoise on her return.

BETULA showed enough at 3 to think she can win a race like this and is narrowly preferred to the Aga Khan's Kailasa, who has shown promise when reaching the frame in similar company this spring. Labhaoise faded to finish well held on her Dundalk debut before Christmas but there was money for her and she might last longer this time with Billy Lee doing the steering.

The best form belongs to BETULA, though Kailasa has to be a big danger with the benefit of two runs this season under her belt.

18:30 Down Royal Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

In a wide-open affair, marginal preference is for DISTILLATE, who won a similar event at Cork 10 days ago and is only 4lb higher in the ratings. Universally was not disgraced on his return at the Curragh recently and he has to be of interest here, while Rockbury Lad edges out Shoot To Kill and Half Nutz to be the pick of the remainder.

SHOOT TO KILL is starting to look well treated and might be able to land a first win since joining Ado McGuinness. His stablemate and recent Cork scorer Distillate is second choice ahead of Natalia Lupini's Talia, the mount of Billy Lee.

Shoot To Kill is well drawn for one who likes to be handy but he might set it up for CHESTNUTTER who has a lot in her favour.

19:00 Down Royal Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MORE PROFIT wasn't disgraced on her handicap debut when finishing sixth after being pitched in against older horses at Naas. The drop back in trip is unlikely to be an inconvenience to Gavin Cromwell's filly and she appeals as having more to offer. Pandion Power arguably produced his best effort to date when second at Gowran earlier in the month and he commands plenty of respect, while others likely to enter the reckoning include Special Angel and Poppadom.

PANDION POWER came clear with an improver when second at Gowran earlier this month and can go one better now. Poppadom is respected on the back of a good runner-up effort at Limerick a fortnight ago, while Special Angel can also play a part if a lesser run last time is forgiven.

Faster ground may help FICKOU who hasn't shaped too badly in two starts this term and he's down in grade as well

19:30 Down Royal Listed 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

FALCON EIGHT seemed to show that plenty of his old zest remains with a creditable effort in the Chester Cup and Dermot Weld's grand veteran may have too much class for his rivals at this level. Countess Of Tyrone improved significantly for going up in trip at Gowran Park and a further rise to 2m could eke out more improvement in this unexposed daughter of Australia. Unbeaten in two starts on the level, Party Central is another to consider, along with The Very Man.

Useful hurdler PARTY CENTRAL is unbeaten in two starts in this sphere and she may well find the necessary improvement to get the better of Falcon Eight and Serious Challenge in this intriguing listed contest. Countess of Tyrone is also entitled to respect on the back of her solid effort in defeat at Gowarn.

The one with the fewest question marks is FALCON EIGHT and his Chester Cup run showed that he retains plenty of ability

20:00 Down Royal Maiden 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ZARIYGANN looks to have the strongest claims after running on into third at Sligo, although he will need to start rolling slightly earlier to get to the front where it matters. That was a much improved effort and gives him every chance on his second start of the season. Useful hurdler Samui could be interesting if he has the speed for this trip on his Flat debut. Killarney second Free Flow and Churchwarden, who was highly tried as a juvenile hurdler, are others worthy of serious consideration.

If NUCKY JOHNSON and Samui are able to translate their useful hurdles form to this sphere at the first attempt they should emerge as the main protagonists in this maiden. The former is marginally preferred. Free Flow is just about the pick based on Flat form ahead of Zariygann and Wisdomofhindsight.

A renewal of Sligo rivalry between Zariygann and WISDOMOFHINDSIGHT and the latter, if settling better, may come out on top this time

20:30 Down Royal Maiden 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Sportingsilvermine almost sprung a surprise in a Cork handicap and the application of cheekpieces may not need to inspire too much improvement. Latin also drops out of handicap company, while Gleaning has to be respected for her powerhouse yard. Punta Coco is in with a shout, but STEP TO SOMEWHERE is open to the most progression and is fancied to build on her debut fifth in a decent Dundalk maiden.

Well-bred filly STEP TO SOMEWHERE showed clear signs of ability on debut at Dundalk and, with improvement on the cards, she could be the answer to this maiden. Leinster was never better than mid-field on his sole 2-y-o start at the Curragh but there were nevertheless positives to glean from that effort and he is feared most. Sportingsilvermine is third choice ahead of Latin.

It's hoped that expensive yearling LEINSTER can improve on last season's slow-ground debut at the Curragh.
