11:45 Doncaster Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Richard Fahey has won three of the last four runnings of this apprentices' handicap, including with ZIP in 2020 and 2022 and the eight-year-old returns to Town Moor on a lower mark than for both of those victories. He shaped well when third behind Onemorenomore here a fortnight ago and the winner doesn't have the assistance of Billy Loughnane this time, but he does reoppose on similar terms. Stanage was an easy winner of a maiden over this trip at Chelmsford last time and boasts sound double claims on his handicap bow.

ONEMORENOMORE bagged his third victory at this course a fortnight ago and hasn't been harshly treated by the handicapper since. He can go in again. Quest For Fun and Zip rate the principal dangers.

Off a very workable mark, ZIP is taken to register a third success in this race and reverse recent C&D placings with Onemorenomore.

12:15 Doncaster Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FAHRENHEIT SEVEN is very interesting in the second division of this 7f apprentices' handicap. Having recorded a quick-fire sprint double in July, Mark Usher's gelding looked crying out for further when powering home over 6f at Epsom last time and there could be much more to come from the unexposed three-year-old. However, if a 6lb rise and a 121-day layoff catch him out here, then Beauty Choice could be the one to pounce, as he returns to a winning trip on the back of some good efforts in defeat over shorter. Capote's Dream is another to consider after a near-miss over 6f at Newbury.

CAPOTE'S DREAM is well treated if he can build on his latest back-to-form second at Newbury. Second choice is Look Back Smiling who wasn't seen to best effect here on Futurity day and won on this card last season. The consistent Beauty Choice completes the shortlist.

Back down in class, LOOK BACK SMILING is taken to record a third success at Doncaster. Mister Sox is second choice.

12:50 Doncaster Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A 260,000gns yearling who is a half-brother to four winners, HUMAM showed good speed for a long way before weakening into third over 7f at Newmarket first time out. With that recent experience under his belt and the drop in trip likely to suit, Andrew Balding's colt is preferred to So Darn Hot, who has got closer to the target with each of his three starts and only went down by three-quarters of a length over 5f at Yarmouth last month. My Mate Beattie has also shown ability in her four outings and completes the shortlist.

SO DARN HOT again shaped encouragingly when pulling clear with a promising newcomer at Yarmouth on his most recent outing and, with the step back up in trip an obvious plus, this looks a good opportunity for him to open his account. Humam is entitled to build on a promising first effort at Newmarket, with newcomer Crestofdistinction requiring a market check.

The pick on form judged on his second at Yarmouth last month, SO DARN HOT is open to further progress and looks the one to beat.

13:20 Doncaster Listed (Class 1) 6f  Doncaster 14:00 Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

ZOUM ZOUM appeared to appreciate the drop back to 6f when running out a ready winner over this track and trip last month and, with forecast underfoot conditions set to suit, he gets a tentative vote for the red-hot Ralph Beckett team. Course winner Room Service was far from disgraced when finishing runner-up in a hot York handicap over 6f last month and he looks the main danger to the selection. Russet Gold and Ramazan are a couple of others to consider.

Three-year-olds ROOM SERVICE and Zoum Zoum graduate from handicap company but such was the impression the pair created last time, they bring very solid form to the table. Marginal preference is for the former, who showed what he could do at this track when a decisive winner of a sales race last year. Of the rest, a stiff 6f could be what Russet Gold requires so he's on the shortlist.

Room Service has potential and Russet Gold was 3rd in a Group 3 last time but ZOUM ZOUM can improve on a recent C&D win.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
