|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

13/2(-63%) | (6) Artificer 13/2, Bit in hand landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 53 at Chelmsford last time; unproven on fast ground; off a short-break; more to come; big chance Won at Chelmsford off 4lb lower when last seen; chance if translating that form to turf. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Born A Rebel |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Born A Rebel 10/1, Slowly away beaten 10l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; generally out of form; blinkers first time; reduced mark not enough to recommend 5lb below her sole win but needs to return to form in first-time blinkers.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
KING OF SPEED got up to make the frame in this class at Bath earlier in the month and competes off an unchanged mark. With a similar display, he could be the one to beat. Artificer shed her maiden tag at Chelmsford in February and is an interesting contender back on turf, while Braes Of Doune makes his return to action and is another to note.
Artificer has a good chance but a chance is taken on BRAES OF DOUNE being ready on his first start since September.

28/1(-12%) | (13) Miss Cast 28/1, Ran to form beaten 2 1/4l off 59 over 6f at Newcastle last time; step up in trip could suit; unproven on fast ground; probably bit to come; of interest Drew a blank in five 2yo runs but there were signs of ability; watch the market on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (5) ![]() Francis Drake |
4/1(-14%) | (5) Francis Drake 4/1, Did not get a clear run fourth beaten 7l in a handicap over 6f at Newcastle latest; step up in trip no issue; unproven on fast ground; big chance if handling it In frame four of five starts, all on AW; possibilities if handling the different surface. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
YEHUDI was gelded over the winter and returned with a good effort when a close third at Wolverhampton. The son of Bated Breath has kindly had his mark left alone for that encouraging effort and is fancied to build on it. Francis Drake was pipped on his first start in a handicap over this distance at Lingfield last month and may have found the drop to 6f out of his comfort zone subsequently. Queen Of Good News is the pick of the remainder.
Plenty of these carry risks but TARLAC may not have reached his ceiling and he gets the verdict after a promising effort last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Despite having plenty go against her, Invisible still managed to hit the crossbar on her second appearance, outrunning odds of 100/1 at Chelmsford last month. She has to be taken seriously, but KINSWOMAN gets the vote. William Haggas' filly finished third behind a subsequent winner at Wolverhampton and can take the necessary step forward to strike. Speaktotheguvnor is another to watch out for.
Thanks Angel is respected but ALFAREQA, a very well-bred filly who had an excuse on her only 2yo outing, gets the vote.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Recent Yarmouth winner Dorney Lake is a good starting point for this competitive sprint handicap and he has a reasonable chance of following up, despite a 6lb higher rating. However, this is deeper and many have chances. KODI LION, who is unexposed but capable over the trip, is one who can have a bigger say, with improvement possible after resuming for Mick Appleby at Thirsk a fortnight ago. Smart Vision and It Just Takes Time are two more to consider.
Smart Vision is respected but KODI LION (nap) made a pleasing return at Thirsk and can strike on his second run for Mick Appleby.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A dual winner as a juvenile, RANEENN ran too freely on her seasonal bow in a Listed race at Lingfield last month and could be a different proposition if she settles better now she goes handicapping with her match-fitness topped up. Sea Emily Run, who was pitched into the Bosra Sham at Newmarket when last seen, is another notable type on her handicap bow, while similar comments apply to Galaxy Zoo, who debuts on turf after a maiden success over 5f at Wolverhampton.
bGalaxy Zoo\p is 1-1 for Ralph Beckett but just preferred is BERONIA whose last British run resulted in a cosy success at Ayr.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
DANDY DINMONT, who won over C&D off 4lb higher last July, hasn't done much wrong in a couple of similar events of late and returns to this happy hunting ground with a big chance of holding sway. Fellow course winner Toptime was three places behind the selection in sixth when they clashed here at the Lincoln fixture but has a solid each-way chance off 1lb lower. Honour Your Dreams and Glendown are others capable of bold showings.
Following two good thirds, DANDY DINMONT looks ready to strike. His main danger could be Opal Storm, unlucky in running last time.
Ths is the racecard key.
