13:20 Cork Maiden 5f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This looks a good opportunity for PASSING PHASE. Out of Group 3 winner Lady Wingshot, the 85-rated bay will appreciate the forecast rain. Beaten just half a length into second when last seen at Tipperary in May, he finished a place ahead of Rudi's Apple, with that one now rated 101. Likedbymike has two solid efforts to her name and is of definite interest with Billy Lee aboard. Trained in Co Tipperary by Michael Byrne, the cheaply-bought yearling went down by less than a length when third at Dundalk recently. Colin Keane takes the ride on Promise Given, who reportedly didn't handle the track when disappointing at Listowel in June. A close sixth on debut over the course and distance, a reproduction of that effort would see her go close. This Ain't Texas and Vanilla Baby are others worthy of consideration.

PASSING PHASE possesses the best form on show so is taken to build on his Tipperary runner-up after a break and open his account. Likedbymike and This Ain't Texas rate the main dangers to Jessica Harrington's son of Lope De Vega and can chase him home in that order.

If PASSING PHASE can repeat his runner-up effort at Tipperary when last seen then he should take beating.

13:55 Cork Handicap 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Jessica Harrington has a strong hand here, saddling three of the 10 declared. KODILICIOUS has a lofty rating of 93, after beating subsequent winners Rebel Diamond and Last Encore at Sligo last month. The former has in fact won three times since, claiming a Listed contest at Fairyhouse last week. Gloriously Glam is another Harrington representative. A runner-up to Last Encore on her penultimate start, she again finished second when last seen in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes. Gangsta Man is likely to appreciate this drop in trip and should be able to make his presence felt, while Agouti Bear and Gazelle D'or are other leading hopes.

Jessica Harrington saddles three here and her GLORIOUSLY GLAM is taken to come out on top on the back of her very good Curragh second last time out. Gangsta Man's recent form is on the up so he could emerge as the main danger, atlhough Gazelle d'Or and Agouti Bear are also worthy of consideration. Moonhall Church completes the shortlist.

Having beaten a subsequent Listed winner when making a winning debut at Sligo in August, KODILICIOUS can defy top-weight.

14:30 Cork Handicap 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STAYSOUND SUSIE might be able to bounce back from a below-par effort at Galway. A model of consistency prior to that run, she is versatile regards ground and should appreciate this drop back in trip. In truth, a case can be made for all six runners. Second four times from nine starts, first-time blinkers could work the oracle on handicap debutant Emerald Banner, while UK import Lunar Streets is of definite interest with Colin Keane aboard. Sligo victor Sakakawea warrants respect off an initial mark of 65, with C&D winner Linger For Longer and top-weight Tai Tam Bay completing the field.

There could be come from Sligo maiden winner SAKAKAWEA so she gets the nod to make a winning handicap debut back from 5 months off. Tai Tam Bay is starting to look well handicapped again and may give the selection most to do.

The most solid option is STAYSOUND SUSIE (nap). 7f stretched her last time, she went close off 1lb higher at Naas and she handles soft.

15:05 Cork Handicap 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

It might be worth taking a chance on RUN FORREST RUN in this competitive affair. The Micky Fenton-trained six-year-old won this race last year when rated 2lb higher and blinkers are tried for the first time now. Fresh from a win at Listowel, young apprentice Darragh O'Sullivan takes the ride and claims a valuable 7lb. Third at Naas last month, the locally-trained Mymomentintime is an obvious danger. Versatile regards ground, the five-year-old is sure to be a popular choice with punters. Handicap debutant Pink Oxalis has three solid efforts to her name and is one for the shortlist, while others to consider are Navan runner-up Little Mi Mi, 2021 winner Coffeemeanscoffee and Green Valentine.

MYMOMENTINTIME shaped well under Billy Lee at Naas last month and is worth a chance to confirm that promise. Little Mi Mi reacted well to a tongue strap when an improved second at Navan last month and this lightly-raced 3-y-o can provide the chief threat ahead of last year's winner Run Forrest Run.

A chance is taken on GREEN VALENTINE. She's nicely drawn, Keane is back on board and the ground may have been too lively on latest.

15:40 Cork Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Aidan O'Brien's Minnie Hauk is the obvious starting point. This daughter of Frankel made a whopping 1,850,000 euros at Goffs Ireland in September last year and doubtless connections will be delighted to see her make her debut at the end of her juvenile campaign. She is a half-sister to a Group 2 winner. In a race of many imponderables, a chance is taken on her stablemate, WIN ME OVER. She is a sister to a multiple-Group 1 winner and Jack Cleary takes a very handy 7lb off her back. Joseph O'Brien's Wemightakedlongway finished well for third on racecourse debut over C&D, while Bint Majestic Roi could improve on her second start.

It will be an ominous sign for her rivals if MINNIE HAUK is strong in the betting. Indeed, the Frankel filly fetched a cool €1,850,000 as a yearling, if her pedigree is anything to go by, she will have a bright future. Wemightakedlongway and Just Before have both displayed a fair level of ability and are feared most in that order of preference, while Minnie Hauk's stablemate Win Me Over is also one to keep an eye on.

Narrow preference is for STELLAR QUALITY. She showed a lot of promise in a 7f Leopardstown barrier trial and this trip should suit.

16:15 Cork Listed 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A fascinating race. MUTASARREF could give weight away to the field. He has had an excellent year winning three times including a couple of Group 3 contests in Leopardstown. He is holding his form well as he was an excellent second at 20/1 in a Group 2 at Leopardstown during Irish Champions Festival. Dublin could be the real fly in the ointment. Aidan O'Brien's charge wasn't perturbed in beating an 88-rated horse by four lengths on his debut in a Listowel maiden last week. He is very inexperienced, but clearly well thought of. Wigmore Street was delivered late to win the Irish Cambridgeshire at the Curragh before finishing a solid third in a premier handicap at the same venue.

This is obviously a much tougher assignment than the one DUBLIN faced when making a winning belated debut at Listowel last week, but he did the job in the style of a useful colt and may well take this step up in class in his stride. The consistent Mutasarref looks sure to give another good account and may be the one to follow the selection home, while the filly Magical Sunset has been contesting Group races this season and could have a part to play now eased in class.

Preference is for MAGICAL SUNSET. She is ground-versatile, she has won at this level before and this is easier than her last two races.

16:50 Cork Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

EMPORIO is dropping in the handicap and should have a say. He didn't run badly when fourth in a higher grade at Listowel and cheekpieces are now fitted. The weekend rain will not inconvenience him at all, so he has an each-way chance at a price. A tardy start did for September Leaves when she was unplaced in a valuable fillies' handicap at Leopardstown. Prior to that, she scored over 1m in Gowran Park and remains of interest. Passionate has a habit of finishing her races well. That's a more than useful habit to have and it could see her pick up a cheque. Recent winners Casanova and Loingseoir will have their supporters.

LIVIO MILO would have gone closer at Laytown but for a gap closing on him when he was starting to look threatening. He's back with his usual headgear on off the same mark and looks set for a big run. Casanova won well at Listowel last week and has to be respected again. Passionate and Letiza, starting out for Henry de Bromhead, complete the shortlist.

Though he has a poor win record, LIVIO MILO has plenty in his favour on this occasion and can notch his second win.

17:20 Cork Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ENGINES ON finished out the back when favourite for a handicap over further in Leopardstown, but had a horror draw and is worth another chance. He is better assessed on his three solid runs in Gowran Park and he finished runner-up there in June. A tongue-strap is tried and James Ryan claims 3lb. Relevant Range bounced back to form with a vengeance in Listowel. He travelled well during that race, but the handicapper has hit him with a 9lb rise which asks questions. Mulgrave is on a particularly dangerous mark and wasn't beaten far into third at Fairyhouse, however, he wouldn't want much juice in the ground. Pink Socks is another to consider.

PINK SOCKS is in better heart than recent form figures suggest and is interesting with Billy Lee taking over from her usual apprentice. Monzoon and Alessia Fernanda are a couple of others to consider.

Preference is for ALESSIA FERNANDA who probably hasn't quite seen out 1m1f the last twice and can get off the mark today.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
