0.73/1(+20%) | (4) Astar 0.73/1, Fairly useful filly. Remains a maiden after 7 Flat runs. 5/1, good second of 13 in handicap at Galway (12.4f, heavy) 38 days ago. Back down in trip. Stable having good spell. Another bold show likely. Model of consistency; trip/ground okay and the one to beat on overall form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (22/1 +33%) Stariam |
22/1(+33%) | (8) Stariam 22/1, 17/2, twelfth of 13 in maiden at Gowran (9.6f, heavy) on debut. Off 142 days. Dropped out quickly on Gowran debut back in April and has been given time off since. |

18/1(+10%) | (7) Sarah Purser 18/1, 20/1, third of 10 in maiden at Gowran (8f, soft) on debut 40 days ago. Up in trip. Gowran debut promise and longer trip could suit but more likely needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (100/1 +0%) Dorset Lady |
100/1(+0%) | (1) Dorset Lady 100/1, Tenth of 12 in maiden (100/1) at Cork (12f, good to soft) on Flat debut 8 days ago. Drop in trip here may suit but likely to be of more interest in handicaps down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (3/1 +0%) Lady Meis |
3/1(+0%) | (5) Lady Meis 3/1, Thrice-raced filly. 4/1, second of 9 in maiden at Gowran (9.4f, good) 22 days ago. Trainer going well. On the upgrade. Just denied over this trip at Gowran on similar ground; big run anticipated again here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 -29%) As Fast As Wind |
11/1(-29%) | (3) As Fast As Wind 11/1, Fair filly. 25/1, creditable second of 14 in maiden at Bellewstown (12.1f, good to soft) 62 days ago, no match for winner. First run for yard after leaving Adrian Murray. Visor on 1st time. Useful form for Adrian Murray; place prospects on debut for new connections. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (4.5/1 +44%) Time To Soar |
4.5/1(+44%) | (9) Time To Soar 4.5/1, Lightly-raced filly. 14/1, creditable third of 9 in maiden at Gowran (9.4f, good) 22 days ago. Bit to find with Lady Meis on recent Gowran run but should be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (125/1 -89%) Hopkins |
125/1(-89%) | (2) Hopkins 125/1, Twice-raced filly on Flat. Last of 5 in maiden (100/1) at Cork (10f, good to soft) 8 days ago. Some level of ability in two flat maidens but looks more of a handicap prospect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ASTAR is becoming a touch frustrating but may be able to gain an overdue win here. The Sea The Stars filly has been placed on her last five outings and the form of her runner-up effort at Galway last time has worked out well. She chased home the progressive Youcrackmeup in handicap company then. The winner has followed up since while the third horse, Fratas, has gone on to win twice. Her mark of 80 sets the standard. Lady Meis is the potential improver in the field and could be the danger. She ran a big race when just pipped at the line in Gowran last time and that was a step forward from her first two outings. The 75-rated As Fast As Wind, who was second at Bellewstown last time, is another for the shortlist in this company.
ASTAR has been knocking pretty loudly on the door this season and this looks a great chance for him to open his account. Lady Meis is going the right way and looks the obvious danger.
Runner-up in four of her last five starts ASTAR can gain a deserved win here, although Lady Meis could push her close

1st (7) (0.3/1 +52%) This Songisforyou |
0.3/1(+52%) | (7) This Songisforyou 0.3/1, Twice-raced gelding on Flat. Fairly useful winner at 17f in bumpers. Second of 8 in maiden (12/1) at Leopardstown (9f, good) 21 days ago, slowly away. Difficult to oppose. Just denied over slightly shorter at Leopardstown; looks the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 +0%) Expound |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Expound 4/1, Fairly useful gelding. 9/2, good third of 13 in handicap at Tipperary (12.5f, soft) 27 days ago, finding less than looked likely. Back down in trip. Consistent sort for Denis Hogan including second over this trip at Ballinrobe; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (12/1 +52%) Just Delayed |
12/1(+52%) | (4) Just Delayed 12/1, 5,000 gns yearling, Postponed gelding. Half-brother to 7f winner Ashamaly and useful 2-y-o 5f winner Zeb Un Nisa. Newcomer worth a market watch in a maiden which may not take much winning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (25/1 +11%) Indulging |
25/1(+11%) | (3) Indulging 25/1, Fair gelding. Remains a maiden after 11 Flat runs. Blinkers on, ninth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (16f, good to soft, 10/1) 26 days ago. Significantly down in trip. Best efforts on the flat have been over shorter; hard to see hm playing a major role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (80/1 -100%) Boots And Jeans |
80/1(-100%) | (1) Boots And Jeans 80/1, Making Flat debut. 15/2, pulled up in novice hurdle at Roscommon (16.2f, good) on hurdles bow 87 days ago, shaped as if amiss. Tongue strap on for first time. Picked up minor injury over hurdles in June; best watched on Flat debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (11/1 +21%) Awqaat |
11/1(+21%) | (8) Awqaat 11/1, Thrice-raced filly. 50/1, fourth of 14 in maiden at Naas (8f, soft) 31 days ago, never nearer. Up in trip. Naas fourth suggests this longer trip will suit; won't have to improve too much. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (80/1 -142%) Mr Sundancer |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Mr Sundancer 80/1, Making Flat debut. Twelfth of 14 in handicap hurdle (25/1) at Killarney (17f, good) 49 days ago. Bumper winner in Britain is 0-7 hurdling and unlikely type to make an impact here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THIS SONGISFORYOU can gain compensation here having lost out narrowly in a tight three-way finish at Leopardstown last month. The US-bred gelding has been knocking on the door recently and also ran well when third at Galway earlier last month. Obviously it would be dangerous to take too literally his short-head defeat by the 105-rated Up And Under last time but he has certainly shown a level where he can win a race of this standard. Expound has the top mark of those with an official rating and has been hitting the crossbar. It would be disappointing though if This Songisforyou couldn't surpass his mark of 73. Awqaat ran well when fourth in a Naas maiden last time and could be place material.
This is short of THIS SONGISFORYOU's optimum trip but he's very likely to get away with it in a race lacking strength in depth. Nostringsttached and Expound look set to chase the selection home.
Having just failed to get up at Leopardstown last month THIS SONGISFORYOU looks the one to beat here

1st (4) (8/1 -45%) Beauparc |
8/1(-45%) | (4) Beauparc 8/1, 100/1, never dangerous seventh of 15 in maiden at the Curragh (6f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Seems to have been brought along with handicaps in mind so remains capable of better. Best of her 3 runs in maidens came over 6f last time; possible this trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (12/1 -167%) Jeaniemacaroney |
12/1(-167%) | (3) Jeaniemacaroney 12/1, Seventh of 10 in maiden (12/1) at Gowran (8f, soft) 40 days ago. Up in trip. Looks the type to do better in handicaps so one to keep an eye on. Placed on debut when a distant 3rd in October but struggled twice since; tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

3.33/1(+17%) | (8) Chica Linda 3.33/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best under a sound-tactical ride when winning 13-runner handicap at Sligo (10.5f, good to soft, 9/1) 29 days ago, making all. 6 lb higher and could kick on now she's up and running. Poor form in maidens but built on yard/h'cap debut with Sligo win; up 6lb with wide draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 +76%) Rough And Tough |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (4.5/1 +63%) Get Set Jet |
4.5/1(+63%) | (10) Get Set Jet 4.5/1, 12/1, took a step back in the right direction when seventh of 13 in handicap at Leopardstown (9f, good) 3 weeks ago. Enters calculations. Placed on h'cap debut and bounced back from lesser efforts when beaten 4l latest. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (40/1 +20%) Just Another Eagle |
40/1(+20%) | (12) Just Another Eagle 40/1, Fared no better for a change of tactics when last of 10 in maiden at Gowran (8f, soft, 150/1) 40 days ago. Up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Poor form in maidens so far; needs marked improvement for new trip on handicap debut. |

7/1(+56%) | (2) Jazz Forever 7/1, Failed to improve when sixth of 9 in minor event at Cork (12f, good to soft, 16/1) 8 days ago. Others look stronger. Consistent without threatening in 3 runs for new yard; mark continues to slide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FLORIDA TAIGA ran really well over slightly further at Navan recently and looks capable of winning a handicap off this kind of mark. The daughter of Free Eagle finished off well to take third behind Stay Local and the first-time blinkers then seemed to work well. A tongue-tie is also added now and if that can extract anymore improvement if may get her over the line. Chica Linda comes here in winning form having scored at Sligo last month and she looks an obvious danger. Jeaniemacaroney won a barrier trial last year and shaped with promise when third on her racecourse bow at Gowran. She hasn't quite shown that level in two runs this term but could get closer now off a lowly enough mark on her handicap debut.
FLORIDA TAIGA produced her best effort so far sporting first-time blinkers after 3 months off when third at Navan last Saturday and, provided she copes with this quick turnaround, Dermot Weld's filly is fancied to get off the mark with a tongue tie added. The main threat may emerge from Jeaniemacaroney, who looks just the type to do better in handicaps, with recent winner Chica Linda rounding off the shortlist.
It was a career best from FLORIDA TAIGA when beaten a length at Navan last week and if she comes on for that, she may be hard to beat

1st (11) (4.5/1 +36%) Simply Sideways |
4.5/1(+36%) | (11) Simply Sideways 4.5/1, Latest win at Naas (1m) in July. 13/2, creditable third of 15 in handicap at Killarney (8.1f, good) 14 days ago. Trainer going well. Should go well again for all this looks tougher. In form of her life at present and 1lb rise for latest 3rd could be lenient. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/1 +27%) Eclat De Lumiere |
4/1(+27%) | (1) Eclat De Lumiere 4/1, Fairly low-mileage filly who seemed unsuited by the drop in trip when seventh of 18 in handicap at the Curragh (7f) in June. Form of her Fairyhouse third previously has some substance however, and she's of interest back up in trip. No wins since debut but ran with credit on return and unsuited by 7f latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (14/1 -17%) Eloquent Arthur |
14/1(-17%) | (5) Eloquent Arthur 14/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. 8/1, below form fourth of 11 in handicap at Roscommon (7.4f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Back up in trip. Getting down towards last winning h'cap mark; running well in defeat of late; wide draw. |

Return to forecast quicker ground here should help. Has won over hurdles and on the Flat this summer but may find this trip on the sharp side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (6.5/1 +13%) Yokkell |
6.5/1(+13%) | (6) Yokkell 6.5/1, Latest win at Ballinrobe in July. Creditable sixth of 10 in handicap (4/1) at Sligo (10.5f, good to soft) 29 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Career best with Ballinrobe win on penultimate run; failed to replicate that latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (7/1 +0%) Free Flow |
7/1(+0%) | (9) Free Flow 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Blinkered for 1st time, not seen to best effect when fifth of 14 in handicap (20/1) at the Curragh (10f, good) 25 days ago, nearest finish. Remains less exposed than most and one of the likelier types here. Improved from his maiden when beaten 1l on h'cap debut and good run when 5th since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (50/1 -52%) Zahee |
50/1(-52%) | (4) Zahee 50/1, Unreliable type. Twelve runs since last win in 2022. 33/1, last of 17 in handicap at Navan (8f, good to soft) 7 days ago. Back up in trip. Engaged 5.15 Gowran Park Wednesday. No wins since Leopardstown success in April 2022; not at the same level this term. |

Trainer going well. Left previous form behind when bolting up at Gowran but has disappointed twice since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (3.33/1 -21%) Slieve Binnian |
3.33/1(-21%) | (8) Slieve Binnian 3.33/1, Career best when winning 19-runner handicap (7/1) at the Curragh (10f, good to soft) 19 days ago, all out. No surprise to see him go well again. Won Curragh h'cap last month; good value for winning margin and 3lb rise looks fair. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (11/1 +8%) Believe In Science |
11/1(+8%) | (7) Believe In Science 11/1, Creditable fifth of 10 in maiden (10/3) at Killarney (8.1f, good to soft) 51 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. However, she has had plenty of chances already. 0-15 but 2 of his better runs this term; return to this trip may suit; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (150/1 -200%) Ayrton |
150/1(-200%) | (2) Ayrton 150/1, 125/1, sixteenth of 18 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, good) 26 days ago, racing off the pace and never dangerous. Good bit to prove at present back up in trip. Heavy ground winner in France in 2021; hasn't shown enough in 2 runs for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (40/1 -21%) North Dorset |
40/1(-21%) | (12) North Dorset 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Twelfth of 13 in handicap (50/1) at Down Royal (12.8f, good to soft) 41 days ago. Down in trip. Yard in good form. Difficult ask. Showed little over 1m5f on h'cap debut latest but this may be more suitable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ECLAT DE LUMIERE has dropped a few pounds since her last run and looks capable of landing a race of this standard. Seven furlongs at the Curragh last time looked on the short side but she stayed on from the rear and it wasn't a bad run in competitive company. This looks a better trip now and an easier task. Slieve Binnian was a winner at the Curragh last time and while this 'country' track may not play to his strengths just as well he commands plenty of respect. Simply Sideways has run well to be placed on her last couple of outings and with Sean Bowen taking 7lb off her back now she could run a big race off a feather weight.
Competitive fare with the narrow vote in favour of ECLAT DE LUMIERE. Unsuited by the drop in trip when midfield in a Curragh handicap (7f) when last seen in June, her previous Fairyhouse third was a solid enough display and she can be expected to go well from a career-low mark. Free Flow and recent course scorer Slieve Binnian head up the dangers.
FREE FLOW has looked well treated since switching to handicaps and he ran a good race from a poor position last time

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The form of SLAMADOOR's win at Gowran Park last time has worked out well and she may be able to bag a follow up success. She got home by half a length then from Jazz Dreamers, who went on to win at Bellewstown, while the third horse, Simply Sideways, has been placed again since and has a chance to boost the form in the preceding race today. Tastyee has been performing consistently and was runner-up off this mark at Killarney last time. She could be a major player again. Chatterbox was just denied at Killarney recently and while she takes a significant drop in trip now she has to be on the shortlist having shown some decent form over shorter in the past.
PLUNKETT STREET upped his game when runner-up at a big price on handicap debut and he's worth a chance to improve enough to open his account at the expense of more-exposed types. Chatterbox and Slamadoor both deserve respect.
There's been some encouraging runs from SPECIAL PROTECTOR of late and she looks like a big player from the basement mark

1st (7) (2/1 +43%) Extensio |
2/1(+43%) | (7) Extensio 2/1, Won 14-runner novice hurdle (11/1) at Roscommon (15.3f, good to soft) on NH debut 30 days ago, bit in hand. Had previously been shaping up well in this sphere and he's a big player again. Recent hurdles winner and Curragh second in July over 2m puts him right in the mix. |

2nd (3) (5/1 +29%) Sheishybrid |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Sheishybrid 5/1, 7/1, creditable fifth of 16 in handicap at the Curragh (16f, good) 68 days ago, faring best of those held up. Has good chance on form. Probably not seen to best effect under hold-up tactics of late; Keane back on now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (12/1 +25%) Takarengo |
12/1(+25%) | (9) Takarengo 12/1, C&D winner. 5/2, sixth of 9 in novice chase at Ballinrobe (23f, good to soft) 10 days ago, let down by his jumping. Cheekpieces back on and better showing anticipated returned to the level. 2021 winner hasn't won since under either code; opposable despite reduced mark. |

4th (8) (3.33/1 -11%) Grappa Nonino |
3.33/1(-11%) | (8) Grappa Nonino 3.33/1, 2 wins from 6 runs this year. Respectable sixth of 14 in handicap (9/2) at York (16.2f, good to firm) 15 days ago, left poorly placed. Yard in good form and he may yet have more to offer at this sort of trip. Ground at York plenty quick but taking his racing well and seems sure to be thereabouts. |

5th (1) (10/1 +9%) Prairie Dancer |
10/1(+9%) | (1) Prairie Dancer 10/1, Had an excellent 2022/23 season over hurdles winning 4 times. Largely disappointing faced with some stern assignments in that sphere in recent months and interesting what the market makes of him returned to the Flat/upped markedly in trip. Out of form this year; marked step up in trip here and others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 -75%) Vischio |
14/1(-75%) | (4) Vischio 14/1, Back-to-back winner at around 12f during July and continued good work to make the frame in pair of hurdle outings subsequently. Career-high mark to defy returned to the level now, however. Didn't quite get home when fourth in this race last year after setting a steady pace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (5.5/1 +15%) Marvelosa |
5.5/1(+15%) | (6) Marvelosa 5.5/1, Off the mark in a Sligo maiden (10.4f) in May and proving admirably consistent since, good third of 9 in handicap at Killarney (14.2f) 2 weeks ago. Should go well again returned to this longer trip. Series of solid runs of late; remains on a competitive mark and should be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (40/1 -150%) In From The Cold |
40/1(-150%) | (2) In From The Cold 40/1, Latest win at Sligo (10.4f) in May. 14/1, sixth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (17f, good) 44 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Others more persuasive. No show over hurdles latest but not one to rule out back on the level, stays the trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (14/1 +44%) Female Soldier |
14/1(+44%) | (5) Female Soldier 14/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Sixth of 9 in handicap at Killarney (14.2f, good, 20/1) 14 days ago, every chance 2f out and weakening. Others arrive with more pressing claims. Struggling to make her mark in handicaps albeit some creditable runs; others preferred. |

GRAPPA NONINO got a bit too far back when a staying on sixth in a competitive handicap over in York just over two weeks ago and may be able to strike again here in shallower waters. The Teofilo gelding had won at the Curragh previously and looks capable of going in again off this 6lb higher mark. Extensio was good on his hurdling debut at Roscommon last time and with that confidence boosting success under his belt he could run well back on the level again here. The six-year-old had been runner-up on his previous two Flat starts and is a consistent sort. Marvelosa is another who has been holding her form well and also has to be on the shortlist.
Having been shaping up well on the Flat in recent months, EXTENSIO continued the good work when opening his account over hurdles at Roscommon 4 weeks ago and, returned to this sphere, he's fancied to make another bold bid. Sheishybrid and Grappa Nonino are others to consider, with Marvelosa not out of things either.
Fresh from a winning hurdles debut, EXTENSIO gets the nod after a fine Curragh run prior to that win

Alex Harvey has impressed recently and he can bag another winner here on WILD SHOT. The nine-year-old has been in fine form and has run well on his last couple of outings over timber. He won well at Tramore when last seen on the Flat and is only 4lb higher now. Walnut Beach is another versatile dual-purpose performer who has been running well and was third to the selection at Tramore. At the revised terms he looks a danger. The Abbey has a lowly enough Flat rating and looks worth another chance at this game. He could be place material.
WILD SHOT has run 2 solid races over hurdles since his comfortable Flat success at Tramore in July and can strike for John McConnell. Walnut Beach was third to the selection at Tramore and is second choice ahead of Gordon Elliott's The Abbey, who has a productive spell over jumps this summer and has a basement mark to work with back on the Flat.
This can go the way of WILD SHOT (nap) who won well when last seen on the Flat and the handicapper may have let him off the hook
Ths is the racecard key.
