Only beaten a neck on his hurdles/stable over C&D 16 days ago; major chance.
LTO Selection:

12:30 Chepstow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Isaac Des Obeaux has been disappointing since his debut bumper success and, although dropped in class following a sixth-placed finish on his hurdling bow at Cheltenham last month, LIVIN ON LUCO makes much more appeal. He was narrowly defeated on his Rules debut over C&D earlier this month and a repeat performance alone, although he is open to any amount of improvement, would make him tough to beat. Captain Boudet may step forward from his pleasing fourth here.

LIVIN ON LUCO produced a promising first effort under Rules when staying on for second in a C&D maiden 16 days ago, and with progress anticipated, he gets the nod to go one place better. Isaac des Obeaux may emerge as the chief threat eased in class, with Captain Boudet and Ask Brewster another pair entitled to do better.

It's hard to knock LIVIN ON LUCO who came wthin a neck of making a successful hurdles debut over C&D 16 days ago. He can go one better.

LTO Selection:

13:05 Chepstow Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Mr Grey Sky did the job nicely when scoring on his seasonal debut at Huntingdon earlier this month and he warrants respect lining up off a 5lb higher mark, while New Found Fame bids to make amends for his tumble two out in the same contest. Romancero Le Dun also holds claims representing last year's winning connections, but a chance is taken on LIBBERTY HUNTER. This chasing newcomer boasts some smart bumper/hurdles form, tends to go well fresh and is a dual course winner.

MR GREY SKY resumed with a cosy success at Huntingdon and looks the way to go with more progress on the cards from Kim Bailey's son of Fame And Glory. Fencing-newcomer Romancero Le Dun has plenty to offer in this sphere and rates a big threat, with New Found Fame also in the picture provided he is none the worse for his recent Huntingdon fall.

Romancero Le Dun is respected with his 4yo allowance but MR GREY SKY is taken to defy a rise for his Huntingdon success this month.

LTO Selection:

13:40 Chepstow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LOWRY'S BAR justified strong market support when making a winning hurdles debut at Wincanton last month and that form has been franked with the runner-up scoring readily since. Although a penalty will obviously make life tougher, he is fancied to complete the double. Nedzor has undergone wind surgery since his second in a Bishops Court point-to-point contest in March and he is an intriguing player on his Rules bow, while My Lady Phoenix completes the shortlist.

LOWRY'S BAR appeals as the type to go on from his Wincanton hurdle debut success and is taken to defy a penalty. It will be interesting to see if the betting vibes are strong surrounding Irish point recruit Nedzor.

There was a lot to like about the Wincanton success of LOWRY'S BAR and he can defy a penalty.

LTO Selection:

14:15 Chepstow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Wot You Wearing powered clear in the closing stages over C&D last time and he merits the utmost respect despite being raised 7lb, as well as racing from 1lb out of the handicap today, but the vote goes to JUST OVER LAND. He plugged on for third over 2m here last month but, being a full-brother to the useful Good Risk At All, who thrived at this trip, the unexposed four-year-old is fancied to take a step forward today. Midnight Ginger heads the remainder.

JUST OVER LAND came from further back than ideal when third here on return and is bred to prove better than his current mark of 100, so is fancied to get off the mark at the chief expense of Secret Plan, who rates as a likely improver now handicapping. Midnight Ginger completes the shortlist on her return.

Just Over Land and SECRET PLAN appeal as big improvers and the latter is taken to make a winning handicap debut.

14:50 Chepstow Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

With the Venetia Williams team in flying form, it might be worth taking a chance on PENNY MALLOW. She has yet to fire after three starts over the larger obstacles, but the daughter of Kapgarde is able to compete from a reduced mark, and recent wind surgery could give her a boost. Lazy Sunday returned to action with a creditable second at Ffos Las 12 days ago and she looks the most likely threat, while C&D hurdles winner Shesupincourt must enter the reckoning on her fencing bow.

LAZY SUNDAY ran well on her recent Ffos Las reappearance and is by far the most solid option here, although a market move for the returning Penny Mallow would make her a possible threat given the excellent form of the Venetia Williams stable.

Penny Mallow is risky but a wind op could help. That said, LAZY SUNDAY (nap) is progressing well and can win again.

LTO Selection:

15:25 Chepstow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ben Lilly regained the winning thread when landing a second success of the season at Wincanton in mid-October. A 3lb rise is unlikely to prevent another bold bid from David Pipe's gelding, but DEAR RALPHY makes slightly more appeal. The seven-year-old was only foiled by a well-supported rival when runner-up at Plumpton on Monday and a similar level of performance may suffice on this quick turnaround. C&D winner Bobo Mac also enters calculations off a tumbling mark.

The vote goes to DEAR RALPHY, who produced by far his best effort yet when hitting the crossbar off this mark at Plumpton on Monday and, provided this doesn't come too soon, a reproduction of that would put him firmly in the picture. Last year's winner Bobo Mac should strip fitter following his reappearance spin at Warwick and he is feared most ahead of To Be Sure and the in-form Ben Lilly.

Dear Ralphy should go well but perhaps blinkers will inspire LANSPARK to show his best form.

(2) Don't Wind Me Up 14/1, £30,000 3-y-o, Jack Hobbs gelding. Dam (h115), bumper/2m/2¾m hurdle winner, closely related to fairly useful hurdler/smart chaser (stays 23f) Tidal Flow. Worth monitoring in the betting.
Dam won a fast-ground bumper for the yard; the market will show what's expected.

(5) The Big Man 17/2, €60,000 3-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Raven Rule, stays 2½m. Likely to come good further down the line but still warrants a market check.
Half-brother to an Irish bumper winner; trainer won a bumper with a newcomer on Wednesday.

15:55 Chepstow NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HIGHLANDS LEGACY finished a respectable second on his debut in a bumper at Ffos Las last month and the Jonjo O'Neill-trained gelding could go one place better with that race experience under his belt. Rules newcomer Below The Radar represents top connections and any support in the market would bring the five-year-old into the reckoning, while winning pointer San Frandisco is another who likely has a bright future now entering this domain.

BELOW THE RADAR was runner-up twice in points and has been picked up by top connections so, while he's likely to come good further down the line, he may well have enough ability to make a successful Rules debut. Fellow point recruit San Frandisco is a danger and Highlands Legacy shaped with plenty of encouragement first time out.

This can go to HIGHLANDS LEGACY, who's had a recent run and should appreciate the stiff test. Below The Radar is next best.
