1st (1) (4/9 +52%) Coco Mademoiselle |
4/9(+52%) | (1) Coco Mademoiselle 4/9, Winning Irish pointer who landed the odds in Lingfield novice hurdle in November and backed up that effort under a penalty when second of 11 in 2m4f Huntingdon novice. Handicap debut at Ascot best excused and she arrives with the best form. On the up until pulled up in 3m Ascot h'cap last month; well worth another chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (13/2 +19%) Spring Gale |
13/2(+19%) | (7) Spring Gale 13/2, Midfield in a couple of bumpers last spring and better effort over hurdles when third in a novice at Warwick 55 days ago. That still leaves her with a fair bit to find, however. Had wind op before third in Warwick novice (though she reportedly bled); possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/3 -67%) Roccos Inspiration |
10/3(-67%) | (2) Roccos Inspiration 10/3, Proved expensive to follow over hurdles in Ireland but made a winning start for Olly Murphy in 8-runner novice hurdle at Uttoxeter in January. Not disgraced when second under a penalty at Sedgefield next time and should be competitive once more. Won at Uttoxeter and good second at Sedgefield 23 days ago; she's firmly in the picture. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (20/1 -25%) Laughing Lady |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Laughing Lady 20/1, £10,000 4-y-o, Poet's Voice mare. Dam (h112), 2m hurdle winner, also 1¼m winner on Flat, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (2m winner) Mystery Drama. Worth monitoring in the betting. Betting can prove an accurate indicator for this Poet's Voice mare on her debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (150/1 -127%) Gilwen Rosie |
150/1(-127%) | (3) Gilwen Rosie 150/1, Well held in a Wincanton bumper on debut 14 months ago and makes no appeal switched to hurdling/upped in trip. Off 14 months since 14th in Wincanton bumper on her debut; market can guide on comeback. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
COCO MADEMOISELLE's stamina may have been stretched by the extended 2m7f on her handicap bow at Ascot last month, but she could be the one to beat on this return to novice company. The main threat is likely to be mounted by Olly Murphy's Roccos Inspiration, who arrives in good heart and benefits from Lewis Saunders' 10lb claim. Spring Gale may chase the duo home.
COCO MADEMOISELLE was better than the result at Ascot last time and is likely to be back on her game, which should be enough for her to get the better of Roccos Inspiration, the other previous winner in the field. Spring Gale looks the best of the others.
Dan Skelton's COCO MADEMOISELLE looked a mare on the up until fluffing her lines on her Ascot h'cap debut and can bounce back in style.

1st (10) (13/8 +35%) Imperial Alex |
13/8(+35%) | (10) Imperial Alex 13/8, A fair winning hurdler who is knocking on the door over fences, finishing runner-up for the fourth start in succession at Leicester (23f, heavy) in first-time cheekpieces (discarded) 8 weeks ago. Perhaps this can finally be his day. Runner-up for the fourth successive start at Leicester in January; player off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (10/1 +0%) Eceparti |
10/1(+0%) | (4) Eceparti 10/1, Notched back-to-back wins in the mud here in the autumn. Also a respectable second at Fakenham in December but his last 2 efforts have been very disappointing. Needs a return to this venue to help spark a revival. Began this term with back-to-back successes here but his form has nosedived since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (6/1 -71%) Airtothethrone |
6/1(-71%) | (6) Airtothethrone 6/1, Won a Taunton handicap chase last season and has plenty of creditable efforts in defeat since, including runner-up back at Taunton last month. Likely to be on the premises again. Good second of four on the back of a wind op at Taunton last month; enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) (4/1 -20%) Iberio |
4/1(-20%) | (2) Iberio 4/1, Matched winning hurdles form when fourth at Exeter on chase debut. Not helped by mistakes when failing to reproduce that form in his 3 outings since. Needs to jump better. Promising start when fourth at Exeter but failed to build on it in three subsequent starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (28/1 -12%) Harlem Soul |
28/1(-12%) | (3) Harlem Soul 28/1, Successful twice in Wincanton handicaps but not in the same form since, well held all 4 starts since returning to action in October. Yet to fire in four runs this term, beating only one at Wincanton latest; lots more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (5/1 +38%) Lubeat Foras |
5/1(+38%) | (5) Lubeat Foras 5/1, Point/bumper winner who was placed in maiden hurdles in 2021/22 season. Hasn't always impressed with his jumping over fences since returning from an absence but latest third (Airtothethrone second) of 4 at Taunton (23f, soft) was a bit better. Claims if he can build on that. Jumped better than usual when third at Taunton 26 days ago; possibilities off 3lb lower. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (11/1 +8%) Breizh Alko |
11/1(+8%) | (7) Breizh Alko 11/1, Veteran who had cheekpieces refitted (left off now) when posting a creditable third of 4 in handicap hurdle at Sedgefield (27f) 23 days ago. Not discounted reverted to chasing. Solid placed efforts in handicap hurdles here and at Sedgefield this year; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (25/1 -213%) Lermoos Legend |
25/1(-213%) | (1) Lermoos Legend 25/1, Latest win in chase at Worcester in July. Creditable third at Fontwell (21.5f, good) when last seen in October. Much depends on whether he's primed after 5 months off. Off since a solid Fontwell 3rd in October; needs to hit the ground running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (33/1 +0%) Honey I'm Good |
33/1(+0%) | (9) Honey I'm Good 33/1, Notched 3 chase wins last spring/summer but form has nosedived, first-time cheekpieces (off now) making no difference when sixth of 7 in handicap chase at Musselburgh (3m, soft) 28 days ago. Hard to warm to. Two-time chase scorer last summer but more recent efforts have been far less encouraging. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
IMPERIAL ALEX has posted a string of creditable runner-up efforts of late and a belated first victory over fences could be imminent. Tom Lacey's charge should appreciate this greater emphasis on stamina and he's taken to get the better of fellow in-form rival Airtothethrone. The eight-year-old found only one rival too strong at Taunton last month and he's unlikely to be far away with a similar performance. The returning Lermoos Legend is another to note with his stable among the winners.
Although IMPERIAL ALEX's seconds over fences are mounting up he doesn't obviously do much wrong and can deservedly get his head in front here. Last month's Taunton 2-3 Airtothethrone and Lubeat Foras may give Tom Lacey's charge most to do.
This looks a good opportunity for Tom Lacey's IMPERIAL ALEX to end a run of second placings and gain a deserved breakthrough chasing win

Haiti Couleurs |
(2) (11/8 +15%)11/8(+15%) | (2) Haiti Couleurs 11/8, Made the frame both starts in maiden points in 2021 and positive start under Rules when runner-up in a Chepstow novice and Ludlow maiden (both at around 2½m on heavy going). Understandably struggled upped to 24.3f in Grade 2 company last time and he's a leading player back down in class here. Runner-up first two starts; stiff task at Haydock since; big player lowered in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bertie Wooster |
(1) (5/2 -11%)5/2(-11%) | (1) Bertie Wooster 5/2, In the frame all 6 starts in handicaps over hurdles, beaten little over a length when fourth in 12-runner event at Sandown (19.8f, heavy) 51 days ago. Good 5 lb conditional aboard and he has to be respected. Good fourth in 2m4f Sandown handicap in January; he can go well again after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Land Genie |
(3) (5/2 -11%)5/2(-11%) | (3) Land Genie 5/2, Half-brother to Constitution Hill who made a winning start to his career in Huntingdon bumper last spring. Ran with promise in a couple of novice hurdles this term, albeit looking more of a staying type, and further improvement isn't ruled out stepping up in trip, Placed at Carlisle/Lingfield last autumn; more to offer up in trip; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Simple Getaway |
(7) (15/2 -15%)15/2(-15%) | (7) Simple Getaway 15/2, Fetched £180,000 after winning an Irish point but proved very easy to back and looked as if in need of the run when down the field in an Aintree novice hurdle in October. Bled when second of 3 at Wincanton last week and others make more appeal. Won Irish point; well-held second of three at Wincanton latest; remains with potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
River Voyage |
(5) (50/1 -52%)50/1(-52%) | (5) River Voyage 50/1, Took Irish point at the fourth attempt in 2022 but well held on hurdles bow at Ffos Las last month and pulled up at Ludlow since, Hard to fancy. Winning pointer but cut little ice in two maiden hurdles at Ffos Las/Ludlow last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Seren Y Teigr |
(6) (200/1 +0%)200/1(+0%) | (6) Seren Y Teigr 200/1, Down the field in minor event/maidens on Flat and showed nothing on hurdles debut last month. Offered little on hurdling debut after 15 months off when tenth at Taunton 26 days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HAITI COULEURS wasn't quite ready for Graded company judged by his wide-margin defeat at Haydock last time out. However, the seven-year-old holds leading claims on this return to novice company and he's marginally preferred to chief rivals Bertie Wooster and Land Genie. The former has posted a series of creditable efforts in handicap company this season, while the latter boasts an unexposed profile and he is likely to be capable of better.
HAITI COULEURS was biting off more than he could chew in Graded company last time but had made a pleasing start over hurdles before that and he gets the nod over Constitution Hill's half-brother Land Genie, who looks ready made for this step up in trip, with the consistent Bertie Wooster another player.
The lightly raced HAITI COULEURS has some fairly useful form to his name so looks the way to go reverted to this lower grade.

Followango |
(6) (5/2 +38%)5/2(+38%) | (6) Followango 5/2, Point/bumper winner who has shown plenty in 3 starts since switched to hurdles, just touched off on her latest start in a Lingfield novice (19.5f). Into handicaps now and remains unexposed. Brought along steadily, edged out at Lingfield latest; more to offer now handicapping. |

Sammy's Guarantee |
(3) (16/5 +57%)16/5(+57%) | (3) Sammy's Guarantee 16/5, Much improved (after a breathing op) when taking 14-runner novice hurdle at Doncaster (16.6f, soft) in January, pushed out. Worth another crack at this longer trip and must enter calculations on handicap debut. Much improved since wind op, excellent Hereford second latest; up 3lb but rates a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Regal Renaissance |
(7) (7/2 +52%)7/2(+52%) | (7) Regal Renaissance 7/2, Dual winner over hurdles last season who wasn't disgraced after 9 weeks off when third in 7-runner handicap at Ludlow (21.2f, soft, 11/2) 39 days ago. Should remain competitive. In good nick, third at Ludlow last month; she ought to be in the shake-up once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Tilly Toughnut |
(5) (13/2 -189%)13/2(-189%) | (5) Tilly Toughnut 13/2, Won a point bumper in November 2021 and showed much improved form to get off the mark under Rules on handicap debut at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) 23 days ago, suited by emphasis on stamina. Hit with a 7 lb rise but further progress can't be ruled out. Won on handicap debut at Exeter latest; up 7lb but not taken lightly back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sedge Wren |
(2) (7/1 +36%)7/1(+36%) | (2) Sedge Wren 7/1, Promise in bumpers and overcame a sloppy round of jumping to make a winning hurdling debut in a 3-runner novice at Huntingdon in October 2022. Improved to defy a penalty at Southwell (form worked out) 3 months later and now goes handicapping from a fair-looking mark after 13 months off. Won 2m4f novices at Huntingdon/Southwell; off 13 months but still very much respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Endless Escape |
(1) (7/1 -27%)7/1(-27%) | (1) Endless Escape 7/1, Enjoyed a productive campaign over hurdles last term, winning 4 times prior to a respectable seventh at the Cheltenham Festival. Displayed promise without scaling same heights over fences this winter and didn't impress with her response to pressure behind Tilly Toughnut back over hurdles last time. Not discredited when runner-up at Exeter 23 days ago; shortlisted off an unchanged mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
SEDGE WREN secured victory in good style when scoring by two lengths at Southwell on her latest outing just over a year ago. Stuart Edmunds' six-year-old has been handed a mark of 115 on her handicap bow and she could prove to be ahead of the handicapper. Sammy's Guarantee filled the runner-up spot at Hereford three weeks ago and it would be no surprise to see her involved, while last-time-out winner Tilly Toughnut is another to consider.
SEDGE WREN hasn't been since landing a brace of novices last season, but the form of the second of those wins has worked out well and, from a fair-looking opening mark, she's taken to defy a 13-month absence and make a successful handicap debut. Blue Beach was only narrowly denied back over hurdles by a course specialist at Market Rasen and looks sure to go well again, while Exeter-scorer Tilly Toughnut remains unexposed.
The vote goes to Tom Lacey's improving SAMMY'S GUARANTEE who is taken to resume winning ways on the back of her second at Hereford.

Thor De Cerisy |
(3) (5/4 +34%)5/4(+34%) | (3) Thor De Cerisy 5/4, Has improved with each run for current yard and gained compensation for a late fall at Uttoxeter in January when bolting up over C&D (heavy) just over 3 weeks ago. Up 8 lb but looks sure to go well again given the manner of that success. Easily got off the mark over fences over C&D 22 days ago; up 8lb but not taken lightly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Happy And Fine |
(1) (2/1 +50%)2/1(+50%) | (1) Happy And Fine 2/1, Likeable sort who tasted success in handicaps at Leicester/Haydock at around this trip in December. Unable to cope with an entirely different environment in Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase at Cheltenham (20.6f, good to soft) in January and this a much more suitable assignment. On the up until pulled up in competitive Cheltenham h'cap latest; remains with potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
So Said I |
(5) (5/2 +9%)5/2(+9%) | (5) So Said I 5/2, Dual winning hurdler back in 2021/22 and ran out a fortunate winner of what ended up a desperately weak race at Lingfield (20f, heavy) 24 days ago, though was at least revived to some extent by the fitting of first-time blinkers. 3 lb higher and more needed. Blinkered when gaining maiden chasing win at Lingfield latest; needs to back it up now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A chance can be taken on KNOWSLEY ROAD, who finished third in a Grade 2 hurdle at Warwick in January 2023 but has failed to fire in three subsequent starts. Paul Nicholls' seven-year-old makes his return to action after undergoing a wind operation and tries a first-time tongue-tie, so he could be a lot better than a rating of 127 if those changes have the desired effect. Thor De Cerisy quickened away to score at Chepstow and he is well worth his place at this level, while Happy And Fine could bounce back from his pulled-up effort at Cheltenham last time.
It was hard not to be impressed with THOR DE CERISY when scoring over C&D just over 3 weeks ago so Neil Mulholland's 10-y-o is fancied to make light of an 8 lb rise at the expense of Happy And Fine, who had his winning run ended faced with an entirely different test in the Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase at Cheltenham and can make his mark back in a small-field environment. Scene One looks best of the remainder.
It is worth siding with HAPPY AND FINE (nap) to bounce back in style having been pulled up in a competitive Cheltenham h'cap last time

Ballybeen |
(2) (9/4 +0%)9/4(+0%) | (2) Ballybeen 9/4, Placed first 7 starts in this sphere, including when good second at Hereford (20.9f, good to soft). Needs to shrug off a below-par run at Plumpton, however. In very good nick until below-par third at Plumpton latest; he's the sort to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
King Of Brazil |
(5) (11/4 +31%)11/4(+31%) | (5) King Of Brazil 11/4, Fair hurdler/chaser who justified support despite going in snatches when landing a 6-runner handicap chase at Huntingdon. Not disgraced when third behind 2 subsequent winners at Bangor 18 days ago and remains of interest. Won at Huntingdon; solid Bangor 3rd latest; player with form working out really well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Walkinthewoods |
(4) (10/3 -33%)10/3(-33%) | (4) Walkinthewoods 10/3, A fair winning hurdler who arrives in good nick over fences, again finding only one too good in 5-runner Chepstow handicap (19.5f) 3 weeks ago. Can figure again in this groove. Is knocking on the door, good C&D second latest; he can go well again off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Valirann Gold |
(7) (9/2 +36%)9/2(+36%) | (7) Valirann Gold 9/2, Bounced back to something like his best to open his account for the season at Fontwell (19.5f, heavy) last month. However, added to patchy record at Lingfield 12 days ago and headgear back on now. Course winner but only fourth of five at Lingfield latest; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fulgurix |
(1) (9/1 +10%)9/1(+10%) | (1) Fulgurix 9/1, Signed off last season with a game success at Sedgefield (21.1f, heavy). Ran no sort of race at Uttoxeter on belated return but type to bounce back. Pulled up on belated seasonal return at Uttoxeter in January; needs to get back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Grey D'alco |
(6) (9/1 -13%)9/1(-13%) | (6) Grey D'alco 9/1, Winning pointer who made the frame on a couple of occasions over hurdles last season. However, dropped away as if one with problems both starts in November and off since. Pulled up both starts over fences at Kempton/Lingfield in November; has plenty to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Both Ballybeen and Walkinthewoods remain winless over the larger obstacles following a series of solid performances. However, they merit the utmost respect in a race of this nature and are unlikely to be far away, but a chance can be taken on FULGURIX. The selection looked in need of the outing when pulled up at Uttoxeter on his return to action in January, an effort for which he was dropped 1lb. The nine-year-old is just 1lb higher than last April's Sedgefield triumph and further success could await.
KING OF BRAZIL bumped into a couple of subsequent winners at Bangor last time and can quickly resume winning ways with most of his rivals having something to prove. Walkinthewoods confirmed his return to form when second over C&D 3 weeks ago and is the obvious threat.
Preference is for KING OF BRAZIL who can resume winning ways with the form of his recent Bangor third having been very well advertised.

My Boy Aaron |
(6) (8/1 +76%)8/1(+76%) | (6) My Boy Aaron 8/1, Fast Company gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners, including useful but temperamental hurdler Cabot Cliffs. Son of Fast Company; betting can prove an accurate indicator for this newcomer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Paul Nicholls must always be feared in these sorts of contests, and Mulinas, a 170,000-pound purchase, makes plenty of appeal on paper and he is no different. That said, the Fergal O'Brien team have had their share of success in bumpers, too, and OAK GROVE, who made a satisfactory debut at Ascot in November, can put that experience to good use now. It is interesting that Harry Cobden is booked to ride newcomer Devon Dude, and market support would bring him into the picture.
MULINAS cost a fair bit on the back of a point win and could make a successful start for his new connections. Exeter runner-up Peacenik and Oak Grove are feared.
A few with chances but preference is for the Paul Nicholls-trained MULINAS who landed an Irish point on his debut in November.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
