The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The penny dropped late on for HOLBROOK on his debut when he finished sixth at Leicester last month. Ollie Sangster's juvenile overcame his inexperience to finish his race off well and, with normal improvement, he could be the one to beat. Glitterati is bred for speed and he goes for Archie Watson, who can ready one first time out, so he has to be considered with Luke Morris booked. Lockwood completes the shortlist.
NUMBER has acquitted himself well in both starts to date and has the assistance of Oisin Murphy. He can open his account. The chief threat may come from one of the newcomers, with Glitterati and Ballsgrove Boy appealing most.
Number sets the standard and is respected but LOCKWOOD looks a likely newcomer on pedigree.

Worth a second look. River Boyne half-sister to five winners; yard can ready them; very much one to consider. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BRIAN went into many notebooks when he finished fourth at Windsor last month and he would have learned a great deal from that experience. With normal progression, he ought to go close, with his main threat possibly being Lovestruck Romeo, who has the plum draw in stall one and has produced two solid efforts in his career so far, including his third at Salisbury last time. Any market support for Cool Hoof Luke would be interesting too.
BRIAN finished with running left after meeting trouble when fourth on debut at Windsor recently so, granted better luck in-running, Sylvester Kirk's colt is fancied to get off the mark at the expense of debutant Cool Hoof Luke, who represents the in-form Andrew Balding yard and ticks plenty of boxes on paper. This step up in trip should suit Lovestruck Romeo so he can edge out sole filly Flor Do Rio for third.
The market should reveal plenty but LOVESTRUCK ROMEO is taken to put his experience to good use and get off the mark now up in trip.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (28/1 -100%) Ray's The One |
28/1(-100%) | (4) Ray's The One 28/1, C&D winner. Eighth of 12 in handicap hurdle (25/1) at Fontwell (17.7f, good) 21 days ago. Modest on the Flat, below form when last seen on the AW in November. C&D scorer last June but he's been below par over hurdles of late; needs to bounce back. |

13th (8) (150/1 -127%) Simply Ed |
150/1(-127%) | (8) Simply Ed 150/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (15.8f, AW, 50/1) 21 days ago. Plenty to find on form. Last on his handicap debut at Lingfield (2m) three weeks ago; he's hard to warm to. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
FURTHER MEASURE has been unfortunate to occupy the runner-up berth over 2m here on each of his last two starts, but he is only 2lb higher for those efforts. He should have no issues with this drop in trip and looks the one to beat. Miss Tiki wasn't disgraced in fourth over C&D last time and she should go well off an unchanged mark, while Merry Minister is another to consider.
NIVELLE'S MAGIC can boast a better will to win than most at this sort of level and well worth a crack at this new trip, she's just about the most persuasive option. Further Measure seems sure to make his presence felt again, with the slightly quirky Hill Spirit another to consider for place purposes.
Course scorer FURTHER MEASURE is taken to gain a deserved success with the form of his recent second over 2m here having been franked.

85/40(+15%) | (2) Marefuori 85/40, 8/1, fifth of 7 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago. That was a sound effort in a better handicap than this (that is also working out well) so he has to be of serious interest. Good C&D fifth latest; form working out really well so merits serious consideration. |

3rd (3) (7/1 +30%) Galactic Charm |
7/1(+30%) | (3) Galactic Charm 7/1, Fourth of 7 in maiden (9/2) at Goodwood (8f, soft) 33 days ago. Back up in trip. Makes polytrack debut. Makes handicap debut and he might not be straightforward. Fair fourth at Goodwood last month; makes his Polytrack/handicap debut with more required. |

5th (6) (9/2 -157%) Clear Storm |
9/2(-157%) | (6) Clear Storm 9/2, Career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, good, 11/2) 27 days ago, staying on well. 3 lb rise won't prevent bold follow-up bid. Scored on handicap debut at Nottingham (1m2f); that form has been franked so major claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (8/1 +11%) Faayzah |
8/1(+11%) | (4) Faayzah 8/1, Turned over at odds-on third start then seventh of 12 in novice event at Lingfield (8f, AW, 8/1). Off 7 months. Up in trip for handicap debut and must improve to defy this mark. Fair maiden at two; returns for her h'cap debut and could have a say now going up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ALPEN POWER gets the nod. Charlie Johnston's charge finished down the field in a Newmarket handicap most recently, but he was an unlucky loser at Newcastle prior to that and returning to an artificial surface looks ideal. Faayzah is the likely pace angle into the race and a bold showing would come as no surprise, while last-time-out winner Clear Storm completes the shortlist upped 3lb.
The C&D handicap in which MAREFUORI finished fifth in has already received several boosts so he has a lot to recommend him eased slightly in class. Clear Storm got the job done on handicap debut at Nottingham and is the obvious threat.
Preference is for CLEAR STORM (nap) who made a winning start in handicaps at Nottingham and can improve enough to defy a 3lb rise.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
600,000-pound purchase TEN DIMES will have learned a lot from her victory over a mile at Newcastle in April, setting her own fractions before going on to score cosily, and it would be no surprise if this No Nay Never filly, who holds a Ribblesdale entry, completes a double. Precious Jewel may emerge as the main danger to the selection dropping in trip after an impressive victory over 1m4f at Newmarket last month, while Upton, a sister to the top-class Kameko, is respected first time up.
TEN DIMES looked a useful filly in the making when outclassing her rivals at Newcastle in April and with this step up in trip not expected to be an issue, she can defy a penalty. Precious Jewel can also boast form figures of 21 and she's feared most unless there's serious confidence behind a newcomer, notably Daylight Chorus and Upton.
Some well-connected newcomers on show but PRECIOUS JEWEL and Ten Dimes are both promising winners who can fight this out.

Has excellent record around here and remains on a decent mark. 3-4 over C&D; well drawn to attack and the return to this venue could see further progress. |

2nd (1) (16/1 -33%) Lord Protector |
16/1(-33%) | (1) Lord Protector 16/1, Had shown very little promise on his first 3 starts for this yard but bounced back to form when second of 10 in handicap (66/1) at Redcar (10f, soft) 10 days ago. First effort of note for new yard when 2nd at Redcar ten days ago; chance if backing it up. |

3rd (2) (11/2 -22%) Stay Well |
11/2(-22%) | (2) Stay Well 11/2, Thirteen runs since last win in 2021. 20/1, eleventh of 13 in handicap at Newmarket (9f, good) 33 days ago. Lightly raced on AW (raced only at Kempton) but has a good record. On losing run but sharper for his reappearance and ran well on last AW start one year ago. |

4th (5) (2/1 +20%) Mighty Nebula |
2/1(+20%) | (5) Mighty Nebula 2/1, Thrice-raced winner. 1 win from 2 runs this year. 9/2, third of 8 in novice event at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 40 days ago, clear of rest. Makes handicap debut. Should have more to offer. Two good novice runs on AW in April; up in trip for handicap debut; has untapped potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (100/1 -733%) Diamond Ranger |
100/1(-733%) | (4) Diamond Ranger 100/1, Shaped better than the distance beaten suggests when fourth of 13 in handicap (14/1) at Kempton (11f). Off 8 months. Sold from George Boughey 30,000 gns in October. Interesting on 2022 best; makes stable debut after 253 days off and without cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (100/1 -2400%) Endless Power |
100/1(-2400%) | (3) Endless Power 100/1, Course winner. 2 wins from 3 runs this year. Career best when winning 10-runner handicap (9/4) at Southwell (8.1f) 78 days ago, pushed out. Up in trip. Remains of interest. Unexposed and progressive on AW; trip should suit; solid claims up in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (40/1 -233%) Zealot |
40/1(-233%) | (7) Zealot 40/1, C&D winner. Initially prolific for these connections but well held all 4 starts this year after an absence. Prolific two winters back; quiet since returning from layoff; this easier but he's risky. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Roger Varian and Silvestre De Sousa are operating at a 24 percent strike-rate when teaming up this year, and MIGHTY NEBULA can provide them with another victory. He finished an excellent third under a penalty at Wolverhampton most recently and, stepping up in trip on his handicap debut, he looks the one to be with. The hat-trick seeking Endless Power can give the selection most to think about, while Lord Protector also enters calculations.
WADACRE GOMEZ has an excellent record around here so gets the nod off a tempting mark. Progressive 4-y-os Endless Power and Mighty Nebula are feared most.
Endless Power should go well in his hat-trick bid but this C&D seems to bring out the best in WADACRE GOMEZ.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Although unable to justify favouritism when runner-up on her reappearance over a mile at Redcar last month, MILLITERRIES lost little in defeat that day. This return to 7f should suit James Fanshawe's filly and compensation could await off only 2lb higher in the ratings. The biggest danger is All Agleam, who likely has more to come reverting to the all-weather, while it's too early to write off the lightly-raced Divine Breath.
DIVINE BREATH failed to meet expectations on her handicap debut at Newmarket but she had excuses and is well worth another chance with the return to 7f in her favour. Milliterries showed big improvement when runner-up on her handicap bow/return at Redcar and is the obvious threat, with All Agleam best of the others.
Redcar runner-up MILLITERRIES is taken to show further improvement and go one better. Divine Breath is second choice.

1st (1) (12/1 -71%) Orbital |
12/1(-71%) | (1) Orbital 12/1, Well-bred filly (from family of Inspiral) who hinted at ability in 3 quick runs last season. Took a small step forward sent handicapping over a longer trip when fifth of 7 at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 4/1) 40 days ago and may do better still with that under her belt. Back down in distance. Open to improvement back down in distance with reappearance under her belt. |

2/1(+43%) | (3) Never Mind Me 2/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 15/2, seventh of 12 in novice at Kempton (7f). Off 96 days. Has a useful pedigree so may do better on handicap debut. May do much better now handicapping on return from break; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/2 -22%) Salaamaat |
11/2(-22%) | (5) Salaamaat 11/2, Improved over 1f longer trip when second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 28/1) 68 days ago, though took plenty of stoking up and was never a threat to the winner. Form has been boosted since and big shout off same mark. Solid second upped to 7f at Wolverhampton when last seen ten weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (25/1 +24%) Nelson Rose |
25/1(+24%) | (7) Nelson Rose 25/1, Modest maiden. 100/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 15 days ago. Others more persuasive. Reappearance defeat took her record to 0-9; others preferred. |

15/2(+25%) | (8) Garden View 15/2, Very good second of 11 in handicap (12/1) at Chelmsford (7f) but below par switched to turf at Bath 3 weeks ago. Worth another chance back on AW. Solid second over C&D on most recent AW attempt; respectable chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8th (10) (20/1 -25%) Tea Leaf Ted |
20/1(-25%) | (10) Tea Leaf Ted 20/1, Just denied at Kempton in January but well held there since. Ran well twice at Kempton in the winter; subsequent form is poor. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SERGEANTS LEGACY proved far more competitive on his handicap debut when finishing a close-up second at Kempton in April. A 1lb rise in the ratings looks on the lenient side and compensation could await the son of Adaay. Salaamaat arrives on the back of a respectable runner-up effort at Wolverhampton and the Rae Guest-trained filly may put up most resistance to the selection, ahead of Orbital, who lurks on an attractive mark.
SALAAMAAT showed improved form stepped up to this trip when splitting a pair of subsequent winners at Wolverhampton in March so can go one better off the same mark. Sergeants Legacy made a positive start to life in handicaps when second at Kempton and rates the main threat ahead of Garden View, who's worth another chance back on AW.
In a tight-looking race, SERGEANTS LEGACY is the suggestion ahead of Gultari.
Ths is the racecard key.
