17:10 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

WANNABE BRAVE showed the benefit of a spin over hurdles when he successfully reverted to the Flat at Wolverhampton last month and, with Wesley Joyce's 3lb claim partially negating a 4lb rise, the James Fanshawe-trained gelding has a live chance of following up. Taxiing edged out Further Measure (second), Grand Duchess Olga (third) and Shield Of Honour (fifth) when scoring over C&D a fortnight ago and rates the chief threat to the selection.

PFINGSTBERG ran well on the back of an 8-month break when third over 14f here 21 days ago, keeping on having been set a lot to do. Open to further progress now his stamina is tested further, he could just be worth chancing to build on that effort now. Wolverhampton-scorer Wannabe Brave rates next best, with Further Measure another to bear in mind from what rates a workable mark.

Grand Duchess Olga can finish ahead of her three rivals from two weeks ago, but preference is for WANNABE BRAVE who won last time.

17:42 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The only runner to have earned an official rating, Sunny Street sets the standard off a mark of 81 and rates a key player being kept to novice company. However, there should be lots more to come from HISTORIC CITY, who wasn't beaten far despite running green on debut at Leicester 12 days ago and, sure to be wiser, the son of Belardo could be a different proposition now he has some experience. Salik and Shamran are couple of newcomers to monitor in the betting.

GROOVY BABY offered plenty of encouragement when second here on debut 6 months ago and, with the hood fitted, there should be more to come from her, so she gets the nod over Sunny Street, who sets the standard but needs to bounce back. Hazem looks the pick of the newcomers.

Sunny Street has clearly the best form but has had five races and failed to convert. A chance is therefore taken on GROOVY BABY.

18:17 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FIDELIUS has shown promise in both starts since being gelded and is presented with a decent opportunity to gain a first career success now he drops back into novice company. Ten Commitments is open to improvement rates a big threat now he is tried in a hood, while Kento has experience of this course and can also figure prominently as he tries the minimum trip for the first time.

Robert Cowell's FIDELIUS holds the clear edge on form so looks the way to go. Kento could emerge as the chief threat if back on his A-game ahead of Match Anthem and Ten Commitments.

The Robert Cowell-trained FIDELIUS has run two sound races in handicaps since returning to action and can come good back in a novice.

18:47 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DARK SIDE PRINCE arrives here on the back of two C&D victories earlier in the year and a 3lb rise for the most recent of those wins may not be enough to stop him here. That said, Spanish Angel has also been in good form of late and could give the selection plenty to think about, while Popular Dream and Mick's Spirit are also noted.

DARK SIDE PRINCE arrives a multiple C&D winner and at the top of his game so edges the vote. The lightly-raced Popular Dream heads the list of dangers, although Saaheq and Aces Wild also need factoring into this open handicap along with the handily-weighted Beauzon.

Dark Side Prince is on a hat-trick but preference is for SAAHEQ to take advantage off a career-low mark.

19:17 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ALL IN THE HIPS was successful over 6f at Wolverhampton 10 days ago and David Evans' filly is very hard to oppose off a 1lb lower mark here, which leaves her 4lb well in. Daytona Lady was only narrowly denied over course and distance three weeks ago and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Jungle Run and Man On A Mission are the pick of the remainder.

ALL IN THE HIPS benefited from a return to AW when providing this rider with a first career winner at Wolverhampton 10 days ago and she's taken to follow up at the possible expense of the in-form Jungle Run. Daytona Lady also makes plenty of appeal.

Last year's all-the-way winner of this JUNGLE RUN is well drawn to attack and can see off the unpenalised All In The Hips.

19:47 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

AMAYSMONT put two second-placed finishes in a row behind him when winning well over 6f here two weeks ago and the in-form seven-year-old sets the standard on that evidence. Ballybaymoonshiner scored over track and trip on his penultimate start and his most recent second at Lingfield was far from disappointing. Outreach edges out Tonal and Warrior Square to be next best.

BALLYBAYMOONSHINER is right at the top of his game and is fancied to get back to winning ways on the back off an excellent second at Lingfield. Amaysmont is an obvious danger following his success over 6f here a fortnight ago and Tonal should be on the premises.

On his second start for Stuart Williams and with new headgear fitted, TOP BUTTON can take advantage of a handy mark.

20:22 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MAGIC GEM posted another creditable effort in defeat when a close-up second on his seasonal/stable debut at Newcastle earlier this month. Michael Herrington's gelding should appreciate this return to 7f and a first victory in 2024 could be on the cards. Conversely, Daphne May is likely to fare better on this drop in trip and the daughter of Mayson isn't taken lightly, while C&D scorer Heerathetrack is likely to be involved at the business end too.

MAGIC GEM is lightly raced for his age and produced an excellent first effort for this stable when runner-up at Newcastle on return, so he's fancied to go one better in a thin race. Heerathetrack looks the obvious danger and Daphne May could take a hand if the drop in trip doesn't catch her out.

The suggestion is MAGIC GEM (nap) who is proven over this trip and arrives on the back of a career best on debut for this trainer.

20:52 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A 5lb penalty may not be enough to prevent recent Newcastle scorer NATZOR from following up. The David O'Meara-trained gelding relished the return to 1m2f and he scored with enough in hand on that occasion to suggest that there is more to come. The biggest threat may emerge from Photon, who has been knocking on the door on his latest outings, while Ludo's Landing enjoys a 5lb swing with the selection having finished second at Gosforth Park and warrants respect.

Plenty of these arrive in good form, including PHOTON who went as close as he ever has to shedding the maiden tag when headed close home at Wolverhampton in March and a 1 lb rise in the weights shouldn't prevent him making another bold bid. Natzor cemented the positive start made for David O'Meara when successful at Newcastle 11 days ago, and along with Royal Dream, heads up the dangers.

Preference is for NATZOR, who arrives in cracking form and is taken to defy a 5lb penalty. Ludo's Landing is second choice.
