3/1(-20%) | (1) Calin's Lad 3/1, 13/8, career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) 7 days ago. Looks well treated under a 4 lb penalty.
2nd (7) (50/1 +0%) Compere |
50/1(+0%) | (7) Compere 50/1, Cheekpieces on first time, eighth of 9 in handicap at this course (1¼m, 28/1) 26 days ago. Has work to do.
3rd (6) (8.5/1 +6%) Damascus Finish |
8.5/1(+6%) | (6) Damascus Finish 8.5/1, Finally came good when seeing off 9 rivals at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago, although he benefited from a canny front-running ride and doesn't strike as an obvious type to follow up.
4th (3) (3/1 +25%) Rhubarb Bikini |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Rhubarb Bikini 3/1, Ungenuine C&D winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2021. Last of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (1m) 33 days ago. Others arrive with more pressing claims.
5th (4) (3.33/1 -11%) Galileo Glass |
3.33/1(-11%) | (4) Galileo Glass 3.33/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. Creditable second of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (1m) 29 days ago, running on late. Likely to give another good account.

7th (2) (4.5/1 +10%) Eagle Eyed Freddie |
4.5/1(+10%) | (2) Eagle Eyed Freddie 4.5/1, Career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 15/2) 12 days ago. Likely to give his running but a 4 lb rise means another career best will be required if he's to follow up. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SIMPLY GORGEOUS was beaten by a pair of subsequent winners when finishing third of four in a 0-70 handicap at Lingfield last month. Eased 1lb in the ratings and down in class, it might be worth taking a chance on Phil McEntee's charge, whose sole success to date came over C&D. Recent Wolverhampton scorer Eagle Eyed Freddie must feature prominently in calculations, along with Calin's Lad, who has to carry a 4lb penalty for his win in selling company one week ago.
CALIN'S LAD might be good to land a second win in quick succession. Galileo Glass has been knocking at the door lately and is feared most ahead of Mick Appleby's Eagle Eyed Freddie.
The recent winners Calin's Lad and Eagle Eyed Freddie are respected but this could be the day for GALILEO GLASS to shine.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
AMERICAN BELLE was no match for a progressive rival (now rated 101) when filling the runner-up spot over C&D in November but a similar performance could see her shed the maiden tag at the sixth time of asking. Archie Watson often excels in these types of contests and he boasts a strong hand with Concon Candy, who looks likely to improve on her debut third, and newcomer Hildegard. Any market support for her would be interesting.
CONCON CANDY showed some ability when third at Wolverhampton on debut and she's preferred by Hollie Doyle (stable also has an interesting newcomer), so she's worth chancing despite the fact that she has something to find with the more experienced Puntarelle and American Belle.
Concon Candy and Puntarelle both have chances but preference is for AMERICAN BELLE.

2.5/1(+9%) | (4) Letmelivemylife 2.5/1, In good form for new stable, winning over C&D early last month and following up in good style at Wolverhampton 25 days later. Likely to make a bold bid for the hat-trick.
2nd (2) (3.5/1 -75%) Revolutionise |
3.5/1(-75%) | (2) Revolutionise 3.5/1, C&D winner. 4/1, creditable third of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) 19 days ago, finishing with running left. Likely to go well.
3rd (6) (11/1 +8%) Society Lion |

4th (1) (3.33/1 +5%) Barging Thru |
3.33/1(+5%) | (1) Barging Thru 3.33/1, Career best when winning 6-runner C&D handicap 26 days ago, leading post after not travelling with much fluency. A first-time visor replaces cheekpieces now. Ought to remain competitive up 1 lb.
5th (7) (4.5/1 +18%) Secret Strength |
4.5/1(+18%) | (7) Secret Strength 4.5/1, Latest win at Lingfield in February. 10/3, respectable fifth of 9 in handicap there (7f) since needing stronger gallop. One of the more likely types.

11/1(+45%) | (3) Poetic Force 11/1, Three wins this year, the latest at Kempton (1m) in March. 7/1, creditable fourth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 20 days ago. Back down in trip.
7th (5) (20/1 -11%) Robjon |
20/1(-11%) | (5) Robjon 20/1, Largely struggled in handicaps for Richard Hannon last year but his mark has come down if a change of stable perks him up. Also wears a first-time hood. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Things appear to have clicked into place for LETMELIVEMYLIFE, who is 2-3 since joining the Sean Curran yard. He must saddle a 5lb penalty in a deeper race than those successes, but he's less exposed than most and could yet have more to offer. Barging Thru left it late to land a similar C&D event 26 days ago and a first-time visor could unlock further improvement. Revolutionise is fancied to chase them home.
Sean Curran has very quickly found the key to LETMELIVEMYLIFE who is taken to make light of a 5 lb penalty and complete a hat-trick. Secret Strength is more than capable off his current mark and is second choice ahead of Revolutionise.
The in-form LETMELIVEMYLIFE (nap) is beginning to deliver on his 3yo promise and is taken to complete a hat-trick.

4th (1) (2/1 +11%) Later Darling |
2/1(+11%) | (1) Later Darling 2/1, Winner at Kempton in February. Respectable sixth of 9 in handicap (2/1) at Lingfield (1½m) 40 days ago. Likely to be in the shake-up.
5th (5) (20/1 -25%) Choral Work |
20/1(-25%) | (5) Choral Work 20/1, Sixth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (1½m) 19 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Something to find on form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Several hold chances including Winklevi, who is 1lb well-in and appeals on these terms, whereas Later Darling is respected under top-weight but has to prove his stamina over this new trip. Crescent Lake could also be a factor now he has had a couple of spins for his new yard. However, preference is for dual C&D winner MURHIB, who is still well handicapped despite a 3lb rise after a 2m success last time .
WINKLEVI was back on song when second at Wolverhampton last week and might be able to land a second course win of the year. Veteran Murhib got his head back in front at Lingfield last month and is feared most ahead of Amanda Perrett's Later Darling.
It could be worth chancing CRESCENT LAKE, who has his third start for Gary Moore, is on a handy mark again and this trip could suit.

3/1(+33%) | (2) They Don't Know 3/1, Remains a maiden after 19 Flat runs. 9/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, respectable third of 6 in minor event at Southwell (12.1f) 30 days ago. Blinkers back on.

3.33/1(-11%) | (3) The Bay Warrior 3.33/1, 3-time C&D winner. 11/4, career best when winning 8-runner handicap at this C&D 35 days ago. One to consider.

6th (5) (50/1 -79%) Mofridge |
50/1(-79%) | (5) Mofridge 50/1, Tongue strap on, first run since leaving Andreas Wohler when last of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW, 50/1) on UK debut 83 days ago. Others have achieved more.
7th (6) (33/1 -106%) Angels Roc |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Angels Roc 33/1, 5/2, respectable third of 8 in handicap at Brighton (9.9f, soft). Off 175 days. Worthy of consideration. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
THE BAY WARRIOR is holding his form well and having been nudged up just 2lb for winning over course and distance in a higher grade last time, he has a solid chance of following up. It's notable that Rhys Clutterbuck was in the saddle for each of the gelding's three previous career successes, all over C&D, and it would come as no surprise to see the statics enhanced. Boasty is an obvious threat, while Mc'ted and Angels Roc are others to note.
BOASTY has been in excellent form lately and he's fancied to defy a penalty for his tough victory over C&D 5 days ago. They Don't Know looks a danger back down in trip and The Bay Warrior can't be ruled out.
The manner of BOASTY's C&D victory last time suggests he is capable of successfully defying a penalty in this slightly better contest.

Charlie Johnston is enjoying a good spell and the Middleham based trainer can strike again if SMOOTH RYDER enjoys a smoother passage than the one he endured during a near miss at Lingfield last month. He was a bit short of room at a crucial stage near the finish that day and from just a 1lb higher mark, he could make amends. Corporate Raider is tried in cheekpieces and could find improvement, while Chester Tonik remains unexposed over the trip.
DABBOUS has been gelded since last seen and promises to be well suited by the longer trip, so he's preferred to the in-form Smooth Ryder, with Corporate Raider also worthy of consideration.
The improving SMOOTH RYDER was a shade unlucky last time and may be capable of further progress, so he gets the vote.

The step up in trip could be just what the doctor ordered for STORMINGIN having shown plenty of stamina at the end of each of his last two races. A mark of 54 still looks within his grasp and he can see off the likes of Liva, who is now 4lb below his last winning mark, and Reset Button. He was a fine second last time and has since undergone wind surgery.
RESET BUTTON travelled smoothly when runner-up at this course last time and has since had a breathing operation, so he should take the beating in a weak race. Liva is a danger if tuned up and Pledge of Peace can't be ruled out.
If wind surgery can unlock a fraction extra from RESET BUTTON, the consistent 5yo might well be able to edge out a returning Liva.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
