1st (3) ![]() I Maximus |
4/7(+70%) | (3) I Maximus 4/7, 11/8, looked the pick on form but disappointed when seventh of 13 in maiden at Newbury (6f, good to soft) 6 months ago, possibly unsuited by softer ground. In the mix if ready to roll (has been gelded in the interim). Fair ability first two starts, notably second in 6f AW novice, before struggling on soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Blue Rc |
6/1(-50%) | (1) Blue Rc 6/1, Blue Point colt. Half-brother to 5f/6f winner Invincible Speed. Dam unraced. Makes plenty of appeal on paper for an in-form yard. Wears hood. Half-brother to a useful AW sprint winner for the same connections; hooded for debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Cooramook |
18/1(-112%) | (7) Cooramook 18/1, Shaped much better than first time up when fifth of 9 in novice at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 10/1) 6 months ago. Could be an interesting handicapper after this outing. Caught the eye when fifth in 7f Wolverhampton fillies' novice in October on second start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Dream Out Loud |
8/1(-140%) | (2) Dream Out Loud 8/1, Improved on debut form to finish second once again in 6-runner maiden (5/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 13 days ago. Remains with potential and shouldn't be long in going one better. Modest form in finishing runner-up in two 6f AW events elsewhere; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Special Acclaim |
20/1(-43%) | (6) Special Acclaim 20/1, 32,000 gns yearling, Acclamation gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to very smart winner up to 1¼m Special Kaldoun. Market check advised. 32,000gns yearling; by a good sprint sire, although already gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Juba |
5/1(+17%) | (4) Juba 5/1, 40/1, showed quite a bit more than on debut 3 months earlier when sixth of 9 in maiden at Newbury (6f, soft) when last seen in September. Needs to build on that on all-weather debut/return. Looked to show ability on soft turf last year but form isn't robust; off since September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Sir Kenny |
125/1(-25%) | (5) Sir Kenny 125/1, 100/1, made an unpromising start to career when tailed-off last of 12 in novice at Bath (8f, soft) on debut 6 months ago. Down in trip and looks one for low-grade handicaps down the line (has had a wind op). 1,000gns yearling; 100-1 when tailed off in 1m heavy-ground Bath novice in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) ![]() Desert Beauty |
50/1(-178%) | (8) Desert Beauty 50/1, Oasis Dream filly. Dam unraced. Check betting. Yard also saddles Sir Kenny. By a good sire but there's less appeal on the dam's side of her pedigree. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
I MAXIMUS contested a few useful novice/maiden events last season and this looks a good opportunity for him. The son of Zoustar is related to three winners who were all successful on the all-weather, and an official rating of 81 sets a decent standard. Dream Out Loud has filled the runner-up spot on both of his racecourse appearances and is unlikely to be far away, while Cooramook appeals most of the remainder.
A tricky opener to solve but the suggestion is DREAM OUT LOUD, who improved on his debut form to finish second once again at Wolverhampton earlier this month and Andrew Balding's 3-y-o can make it third time lucky. Heading up the dangers is Blue Rc, who ticks plenty of boxes on paper and represents a yard amongst the winners. I Maximus and Juba can fight out minor honours.
There are three newcomers to look at, but COORAMOOK has shown ability and should still have more to give.

1st (1) ![]() Star Legend |
3/1(+25%) | (1) Star Legend 3/1, Hurdles winner but remains a maiden on the Flat. However, placed 3 times on the level this year, before left poorly placed when fifth of 6 in handicap (4/1) at Southwell (14.1f) 8 days ago. Could be thereabouts with blinkers reapplied. Long-standing maiden on Flat but short-head second in 2m Class 5 handicap here in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() The Colorist |
4/1(+33%) | (4) The Colorist 4/1, Winner at Lingfield in September and good efforts on first 2 starts this year. Run best excused when seventh of 8 in handicap at Kempton (16f, 9/2) 29 days ago, poorly placed, so he's not ruled out with visor back on. Capable handicapper on AW around 1m4f; excuses when form latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Blue Sky Boy |
2/1(+27%) | (2) Blue Sky Boy 2/1, Improved form on first 2 outings this year, runner-up at this C&D on second occasion. Met trouble entering final 1f when sixth of 7 in handicap (5/2) at Southwell (16.5f) 56 days ago, so he could fare better with cheekpieces added. Lightly raced maiden; runner-up in C&D Class 5 handicap two starts back; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Duchess |
8/1(+60%) | (5) Duchess 8/1, Sole victory came at Yarmouth last May but has run well last 2 starts, third of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f, 17/2) 28 days ago. Others still look stronger for win purposes, though, as she goes back up in trip. Placed in 1m4f Class 6 Newcastle handicaps on last two starts; this trip within reach. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Payment Plan |
7/2(-56%) | (3) Payment Plan 7/2, Successful at Wolverhampton in January and first past the post at same course next time. Run of good form halted when last of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (16.2f, 6/4) a month ago, but no surprise to see him get back on track in first-time cheekpieces. First past the post in four 2m Class 6 handicaps on the AW elsewhere since November. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Payment Plan has been progressive during the winter and although disappointing last time out, it would come as no surprise were he to bounce back in first-time cheekpieces. However, a chance is taken on BLUE SKY BOY, who lost all chance when on the receiving end of interference at Southwell in January. He struck the woodwork over this C&D earlier that month, though, and Paul Attwater's unexposed stayer would go very close if able to replicate that level of performance. Star Legend is also noted.
PAYMENT PLAN made it 3 wins from 4 starts when scoring at Wolverhampton in January, so he is worth forgiving his latest run given the form he was in previously. He is taken to bounce back to winning ways with cheekpieces applied, though Star Legend and The Colorist both had excuses last time and could be in the mix.
Each of these have a chance, with none of them fully convincing, but maybe BLUE SKY BOY can come good. Star Legend is second pick.

1st (6) ![]() Dark Sorceress |
10/3(+17%) | (6) Dark Sorceress 10/3, Remains a maiden but produced best performance to date when second of 13 in nursery (16/1) over C&D when last seen in October. Merits consideration back at this venue after 5 months off. Runner-up in similar race over C&D when last seen in October; bit more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() One For Harvey |
11/2(+8%) | (1) One For Harvey 11/2, Made the frame twice in maidens at this C&D last year. After 11 weeks off, well held on handicap debut when seventh of 8 at Lingfield (6f, 15/2) 48 days ago, but she's an interesting contender back here with cheekpieces added. Lightly raced maiden; has run well here but needs to do way more than on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Off The Bench |
11/2(+54%) | (2) Off The Bench 11/2, In first-time tongue strap (now discarded), wasn't in the same form as previous outing when last of 9 in nursery (12/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) when last seen in September. First run for yard after leaving Edward Smyth-Osbourne. Moderate maiden who was tailed off in 7f Wolverhampton race when last seen six months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Watkins |
9/1(-64%) | (4) Watkins 9/1, Has failed to improve for the switch to handicaps this year, in first-time visor when sixth of 8 at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 11/1) 37 days ago. Goes without headgear/tongue tie on first run since leaving George Boughey. Unplaced in six 6f-1m AW/turf starts for George Boughey, but may prove capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Olympic Melody |
2/1(+40%) | (3) Olympic Melody 2/1, Some encouragement on debut but failed to repeat that effort in 2 subsequent outings, seventh of 11 in novice at Newmarket (6f, good to soft, 100/1) in November. Watch for market clues as she goes handicapping having left Rae Guest. Didn't progress in three 6f AW/turf starts for Rae Guest last year, but should do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Tiana Rose |
40/1(-100%) | (7) Tiana Rose 40/1, Placed on handicap debut at Brighton last year, but after 5 months off she ran poorly when last of 10 at Southwell (6.1f, 33/1) 27 days ago. Others preferred. Six-race maiden; no obvious promise at Southwell on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Clipsham Noble |
6/1(+40%) | (8) Clipsham Noble 6/1, Placed here (7f) last summer but hasn't gone on from that effort since, eighth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (7f, 9/1) 29 days ago. Visor now reached for as he drops back down in trip. 0-8; hasn't built on last August's 5l third in 7f Class 6 nursery here; now visored. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A chance can be taken on OLYMPIC MELODY, who was last seen finishing down the field in a novice event at Newmarket in November. The daughter of Oasis Dream has since left Rae Guest to join the Kevin Philippart De Foy stable, and it would not come as any great surprise were she to find improvement now sent handicapping. A tendency to race freely continues to affect Watkins' chance, but he's a likely contender if settling. Top Star, who sports a first-time hood for his reappearance, is one more to consider.
Having made the frame twice here last year, ONE FOR HARVEY ran below form sent handicapping at Lingfield last month, but back at this venue she could be ready to get off the mark with cheekpieces added. She is preferred to Top Star, who should be suited by the return to 6f on his first start for Dean Ivory, with Dark Sorceress also considered.
A weak-looking race but OLYMPIC MELODY, Watkins and Top Star, who each happen to be debuting for new trainers, may improve.

1st (4) ![]() Cheeky Stanley |
7/2(+50%) | (4) Cheeky Stanley 7/2, In first-time hood (now discarded), failed to build on previous effort when last of 4 in maiden at Brighton (5.3f, good, 9/4) when last seen in September. Off 6 months ahead of his handicap debut. Unplaced in three turf sprint maidens last year, but may do better now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Bust A Moon |
15/8(+53%) | (2) Bust A Moon 15/8, With headgear left off, ran to similar level as previously when fourth of 11 on nursery debut at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 8/1) in November. Could go well as he makes first run since leaving Eve Johnson Houghton. 0-4; potential improver, back down in trip four months on for new trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Rock Master |
7/2(+46%) | (5) Rock Master 7/2, Made the frame on third start in novices, before racing closer to the pace than ideal when seventh of 12 in nursery (4/1) at Newcastle (6f) in November (gelded since). Enters calculations with cheekpieces on 1st time. 0-4 and didn't progress last year, but has a useful pedigree and could improve this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() She's A Dark Horse |
11/1(0%) | (7) She's A Dark Horse 11/1, Showed a bit more than previously when 3¼ lengths fifth of 13 in nursery (22/1) at this C&D in October. Further improvement required on return from 5 months off. Unplaced in six starts last year, the last two coming in C&D Class 6 nursery events. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) ![]() My Boy Harry |
40/1(-150%) | (8) My Boy Harry 40/1, Finished down the field in 3 outings last year, last of 8 in novice at Yarmouth (5.2f, soft, 200/1) in October (has been gelded since). First run for yard after leaving Darryll Holland. Not dismissed on his handicap bow. Well beaten three maiden/novices for Darryll Holland last year including C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Rhodes Royce |
33/1(-230%) | (6) Rhodes Royce 33/1, Hasn't offered much in 3 starts to date, always behind when eighth of 9 in novice (125/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) a month ago. Handicaps may just see her in a better light, though. Unplaced in three 7f/6f AW maiden/novices elsewhere, but now handicapping at low level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Double Mocha |
16/1(-220%) | (1) Double Mocha 16/1, Only modest form at best in a trio of races so far, fifth of 7 in maiden (20/1) at Kempton (6f) 36 days ago. However, he could yet do better as he goes handicapping (has been gelded). Unplaced in three AW maiden/novices elsewhere, but may do better handicapping at low level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) ![]() Inconspicuous |
5/1(-50%) | (3) Inconspicuous 5/1, Making only third start for current yard, quickly back on track when 2 lengths fourth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 12/1) 37 days ago, despite having done too much too soon. Major player. Showed up well when fourth in similar race to this at Wolverhampton latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Bust A Moon finished fourth on his handicap bow at Wolverhampton in November and is an interesting contender back down in trip on his first start for David Evans. However, a chance can be taken on RHODES ROYCE, who has failed to fire in her three starts in maiden/novice company, but it would be no surprise if she proved a different proposition off a low opening rating. With Kieran Shoemark booked, she might be up to the task. Cheeky Stanley is another to note.
This could go the way of INCONSPICUOUS, who soon left behind a lesser effort when fourth at Wolverhampton last month, doing well to finish as close as he did having set a decent pace. He can build on that and double his tally, with Bust A Moon feared most as he drops back in trip starting off for David Evans, ahead of Rock Master.
A weak race in which BUST A MOON looks a potential improver for a new trainer on his return, preferred to Inconspicuous.

1st (4) ![]() Diamond Dreamer |
11/2(+39%) | (4) Diamond Dreamer 11/2, Four wins from 10 runs last year. 16/1, wasn't in the same form as on last 2 starts when sixth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 16 days ago. Five AW wins elsewhere; his level dipped at Wolverhampton latest but that was 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Merrimack |
6/1(-80%) | (7) Merrimack 6/1, 11/4, run best excused when last of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) just over 9 weeks ago, poorly drawn and things going wrong from an early stage. Folly to ignore. Twice runner-up in similar races here over the winter; can be excused below-par run latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) ![]() Dark Side Prince |
9/1(+50%) | (8) Dark Side Prince 9/1, 5-time C&D winner (including this corresponding event from 2 lb higher last year). 50/1, looked rusty after 3 months off when seventh of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 31 days ago. Five C&D wins including this race last year; needs to rediscover some form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Angle Land |
10/1(-25%) | (5) Angle Land 10/1, C&D winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2024. 9/2, again ran below form when seventh of 9 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 16 days ago. On 12-race losing run but met some trouble at Southwell latest and has won over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Secret Handsheikh |
22/1(-214%) | (1) Secret Handsheikh 22/1, Latest win at Brighton in September. Well-beaten second of 7 in handicap at same course (5.3f, good to soft, 2/1) when last seen 6 months ago. One to consider on return. Ten-time winner elsewhere but unproven around this track and has been off since October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) ![]() Alafdhal |
4/1(+71%) | (9) Alafdhal 4/1, 8/1, bounced back to form when second of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 10 days ago, conceding first run. Blinkers back on and Rossa Ryan on board a positive. Has won here four times; most recently runner-up in Wolverhampton Class 6. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) ![]() Birkenhead |
16/1(-129%) | (6) Birkenhead 16/1, Three wins from 15 runs last year. Wasn't disgraced when fifth of 9 in handicap (14/1) at Southwell (5f) 16 days ago. Should step forward again. Encouragement at Southwell on second run after a break; handily weighted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) ![]() Leodis Dream |
15/2(+63%) | (3) Leodis Dream 15/2, C&D winner in October. 33/1, didn't get home having a rare outing at 6f when sixth of 10 in handicap at Southwell 16 days ago. Will benefit from this return to 5f. Has won over C&D; poor run at Newcastle two back but showed up well at Southwell latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
General Assembly made every yard of the running when holding on by a neck at Wolverhampton and is just 2lb higher. A slight concern is the application of first-time cheekpieces after that success and, with that in mind, SECRET HANDSHEIKH gets the nod. John Gallagher's seven-year-old was last seen finishing second at Brighton in October and has three previous victories on the all-weather to his name. With an ideal draw in stall one, he could be the one to beat. Alafdhal is another to consider.
An open-looking sprint but the vote goes to GENERAL ASSEMBLY, who responded well to an attacking ride when scoring at Wolverhampton 12 days ago and Jack Morland's charge can defy a small rise in the weights sporting first-time cheekpieces. Merrimack can have his latest effort overlooked, so he heads up the dangers returning from a 9-week break, with Alafdhal rounding off the shortlist.
The most appealing option is MERRIMACK who has twice finished runner-up here and had excuses at Lingfield on his latest start.

1st (8) ![]() Flag Carrier |
15/2(+6%) | (8) Flag Carrier 15/2, Wasn't seen to best effect in first-time cheekpieces (now removed) when fourth of 9 in handicap at this course (6f) 28 days ago but he's no forlorn hope stepping back up to 7f racing off a career-low handicap mark. Has modest strike-rate but was unlucky not to finish closer to the target on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) ![]() Thomas Equinas |
12/1(+0%) | (9) Thomas Equinas 12/1, 4-time C&D winner wasn't seen to best effect at this venue when seventh of 10 in handicap (20/1) at this C&D 28 days ago, having been forced wide on the home turn. Not ruled out from 1 lb below latest winning mark. Needs to better his recent efforts but was a C&D winner off 1lb higher in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Kondratiev Wave |
7/1(+36%) | (5) Kondratiev Wave 7/1, C&D winner posted a brace of runners-up efforts prior to a rare below par run when sixth of 10 in a handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) 22 days ago. Blinkers replace regular cheekpieces and not ruled out if that change has the desired effect. Didn't fire last time but this largely consistent 8yo was in good form beforehand. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Kracking |
10/3(+67%) | (1) Kracking 10/3, Headstrong sort again pulled away his chance when last of 6 in handicap at this course (8f) 14 days ago. One to treat with caution. Free-goer who has not been getting home in his recent races; drops back in trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Once Adaay |
5/1(-25%) | (3) Once Adaay 5/1, C&D winner was fairly strong in the market (after 6 months off) when creditable third of 6 in handicap at this C&D and gave the impression he might even benefit from the outing. Not seen for 77 days but chance if he can back up his latest effort. Triple course winner; ran well here in January, after a break, and remains well treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Stella Hogan |
10/3(+0%) | (2) Stella Hogan 10/3, Quirky sort posted a career best when winning 10-runner handicap over C&D in first-time eyeshields on penultimate run. Showed her character again latest, slowly away and took a keen hold when third over a mile at this venue 2 weeks ago. Remains capable at this level if putting it all together. Has her quirks but won over C&D three weeks ago and has run well over 1m since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Francisco |
15/2(-88%) | (4) Francisco 15/2, Has developed a tendency to be slowly away from the stalls, very tardy when third of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 10 days ago. Lightly-raced sort is clearly capable in this sort of company but needs to brush up on his starts. Started slowly in all three handicaps but was placed over 6f the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) ![]() Got No Dollars |
33/1(-175%) | (6) Got No Dollars 33/1, C&D winner who notched his seventh career victory in 6-runner handicap at this venue (8f) in January, holding on under largely hands-and-heels riding. Wasn't in the same form off 2 lb higher up in class next time and he may need further leniency from the handicapper (now dropped 1 lb) to win again. 1m course winner in January; still on workable mark but this drop back to 7f is not ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) ![]() Just Rita |
28/1(-56%) | (7) Just Rita 28/1, Maiden who stepped up markedly on her stable debut effort when second of 9 in handicap (15/2) at Southwell in January. Not quite in the same form (after 10 weeks off) when well-held at the same venue earlier this month but claims if she can step forward from that. Ran well on second of two stable starts but is 0-15 overall; not the percentage call. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Once Adaay was well positioned when fading into third over track and trip in January, but he goes off an unchanged mark and would be foolish to dismiss. Even so, FRANCISCO makes more appeal. The son of Zoustar finished a close-up third over 6f at Wolverhampton and takes a step back up in distance. This is only his fourth start in a handicap and he could take a step forward to strike. Stella Hogan is another to keep an eye on.
Despite her quirks, STELLA HOGAN remains very capable at this level if putting it all together and she may be able to record another C&D victory. Flag Carrier and Thomas Equinas both make each-way appeal from their falling handicap marks, while Francisco has the form to win this but comes with risks attached given his habit of starting slowly.
Three-time course winner ONCE ADAAY returned from a layoff with a good run here in January and remains well handicapped.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
KITARO KICH's winning run came to an end with a solid runner-up effort over C&D, but he lost little in defeat and a 2lb rise may not be enough to stop him from getting his head back in front. Lady Flora has strong claims on last month's second at Kempton, while Where's Freddy has the potential to improve for going back up to a mile.
Preference is for CHARMING WHISPER, who has dropped to a handy mark and should be straighter for last month's course reappearance. Kitaro Kich and Where's Freddy rate the principal dangers.
A competitive handicap in which WHERE'S FREDDY makes most appeal, coming into this in form, handily drawn and under a top jockey.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A promising third on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton when keeping on from off the pace, RULING MASTER gets a tentative vote to break the maiden, having been runner-up over C&D on his penultimate outing. Lightening Mann did it well when scoring comfortably over a mile at Lingfield earlier in the month and he must enter calculations, along with the returning Glenridding, who is 4lb above his last winning mark.
Lingfield maiden winner LIGHTENING MANN may have more to offer yet and is taken to make a successful handicap debut. Ruling Master and Lady Mariko can also make their presence felt.
Perhaps the most interesting runner is handicap debutante LADY CHARTWELL, who looked promising over 7f on turf last summer.
Ths is the racecard key.
