1st (3) (12/1 -20%) Cinque Verde |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Cinque Verde 12/1, Made the frame twice since joining current yard and caught wide when respectable fifth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 10/1) in October. More needed as she makes polytrack debut. Best efforts have come over 5f at Wolverhampton; others look better treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 -17%) Moulin Booj |
7/2(-17%) | (1) Moulin Booj 7/2, Won twice in handicaps last year, with latest success at Bath in September. Continued in good heart when fourth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 9/2) when last seen the following month. Could go well again with hood back on. Won twice last year and should do better as a 4yo; back from a break but he's a contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/1 -50%) The Defiant |
6/1(-50%) | (4) The Defiant 6/1, C&D winner. After 4 months off, shaped well when third of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, 16/1) 13 days ago, no extra only close home. Now 5 lb below his last winning mark and could be ready to take advantage. C&D winner off 5lb higher last summer; 3rd on recent return, form that's been well franked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/11 +27%) Night On Earth |
10/11(+27%) | (2) Night On Earth 10/11, Gained first victory for current yard at Lingfield (5f) in January and again ran well when second of 8 in handicap (11/8) at the same C&D a week ago. Not taken lightly. Comes here in good form and could take some pegging back around here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 +0%) Nazca |
6/1(+0%) | (5) Nazca 6/1, Course winner. Racked up a 4-timer last year and resumed winning ways at Newcastle (6f) in January. However, below form tenth of 12 in handicap (7/2) at the same C&D 27 days ago, so bounce back called for dropped in trip. Flourished since dropped to 6f; held latest; drop to 5f needs to have a positive effect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A progressive sort in the second half of last year, MOULIN BOOJ should have a bit more to come as a four-year-old and a mark of 73 could still underestimate his ability. George Scott's charge gets the vote ahead of Nazca, who is better than he showed at Newcastle last time. Night On Earth has been in excellent form of late, finishing in the first two at Lingfield on his last three starts, so he has to be considered as well.
THE DEFIANT shaped encouragingly on his return when third at Lingfield (the winner and runner-up have both scored since) and he can build on that effort to resume winning ways. Night On Earth is going through a good spell at present and is feared most, ahead of Moulin Booj.
Night On Earth has obvious claims but THE DEFIANT ran well behind subsequent winners last time and is a well-treated C&D winner.

1st (2) (7/1 -17%) Desert Swirl |
7/1(-17%) | (2) Desert Swirl 7/1, Modest filly. Very good third of 12 in handicap (125/1) at Newcastle (5f) 11 days ago. Needs considering. First effort of note when dropped to 5f at Newcastle 11 days ago; unexposed as a sprinter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (3/1 -33%) Rockley Point |
3/1(-33%) | (7) Rockley Point 3/1, Course winner who raced very keenly when posting a respectable fourth of 9 in minor event at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 6 days ago. Player. Running well in defeat this year and he's more solid than most of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (13/8 +28%) I'm Mable |
13/8(+28%) | (5) I'm Mable 13/8, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Creditable fifth of 10 in minor event at Lingfield (6f, AW, 8/1) 4 days ago. Every chance if back to best. Two C&D wins; running well in defeat this winter and Rossa Ryan a positive booking; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 +54%) Arzaak |
11/2(+54%) | (1) Arzaak 11/2, Modest gelding. 66/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 21 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Can give a good account if shrugging off latest effort. Ages since last win but he's effective over C&D and holds each-way claims at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (40/1 -60%) Perfect Symphony |
40/1(-60%) | (6) Perfect Symphony 40/1, Course winner. Fifth of 6 in handicap at this C&D (50/1) 6 days ago. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Seven-time winner but recent efforts haven't suggested he's ready to make it eight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (13/2 +19%) Hard Nut |
13/2(+19%) | (4) Hard Nut 13/2, Course winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2019. 11/1 and hooded for 1st time, eighth of 12 in minor event at Newcastle (5f) 13 days ago, finishing well. No forlorn hope. Limited but latest run offered hope that he isn't a lost cause; can't be ruled out in this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
An eyecatcher when not getting the clearest of runs and staying on well late in the day at Lingfield last weekend, I'M MABLE is turned out again quickly in the hope that she may be able to get her head in front for the first time since June. She can get the better of consistent veteran Rockley Point, as well as Arzaak, who was narrowly denied on his last appearance over this C&D.
Course-scorer ROCKLEY POINT went too freely when fourth at Wolverhampton last time and is favoured by these weights so can resume winning ways at the chief expense of Desert Swirl who arrives on the back of a very good Newcastle third. C&D winner I'm Mable can also have a say in an open handicap.
Hard Nut is in better form than his figures suggest but I'M MABLE (nap) may well be the answer with Rossa Ryan a good booking.

1st (1) (5/2 +38%) Socially Shady |
5/2(+38%) | (1) Socially Shady 5/2, Unreliable individual. Creditable fifth of 10 in handicap (7/1) at Kempton (16f) 19 days ago, nearest finish. Blinkers back on. Others more persuasive. Hold-up performer with poor strike-rate; needs strong pace to chase and might not get one. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/2 +46%) Seraphic |
15/2(+46%) | (2) Seraphic 15/2, 40/1, sixth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 26 days ago, left poorly placed. Significantly up in trip. No forlorn hope. Winning hurdler in France; has poor claims on British form (Flat/hurdles). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/8 +15%) Sullivan Bay |
11/8(+15%) | (5) Sullivan Bay 11/8, Lightly-raced sort who made a winning start on his handicap debut in 8-runner event here (13.3f) 28 days ago with a bit in hand. Up 3 lb but another bold showing is on the cards stepping up in trip. Won handicap debut at Chelmsford; just 3lb higher and there's probably better to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (4/1 -14%) Tables Turned |
4/1(-14%) | (4) Tables Turned 4/1, 5/1, creditable third of 11 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f) 16 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Heading back in the right direction recently. Close up the last twice but over 1m2f/1m3f and he's unraced beyond 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 -29%) Typewritten |
18/1(-29%) | (7) Typewritten 18/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. 12/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 12 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Unreliable sort. Well treated on some of her form and ran well two starts back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (18/1 -29%) Longuerue |
18/1(-29%) | (3) Longuerue 18/1, Last of 10 in handicap at Kempton (16f, 11/1) 19 days ago so she has work to do. Has run two fair races since stepping up to 2m this winter but not last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SULLIVAN BAY was a major improver on the step up to an extended 1m5f when making a successful handicap debut here last month, and a further rise in distance could eke out even more improvement as he attempts to follow up off 3lb higher. Not beaten far at Kempton last time out and runner-up over C&D on a couple of occasions, Socially Shady is a key player, along with Tables Turned.
SULLIVAN BAY scored with a bit left in the locker here last time so is fancied to make light of a 3 lb rise in the weights on his first go over 2m. Tables Turned is also worth considering on his first go over this marathon trip, with Seraphic also in the mix having not enjoyed the rub of the green when sixth at Wolverhampton last time out.
There was probably no fluke about SULLIVAN BAY's successful handicap debut and he can follow up.

1st (8) (4/1 -264%) Shallow |
4/1(-264%) | (8) Shallow 4/1, Promising type. Second of 12 in maiden at Kempton (6f) on debut back in September. Capable of better and leading claims under Hollie Doyle. Promising 2nd from a wide stall on her Kempton debut in September; more to come this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (14/1 -27%) Miss Sunset Strip |
14/1(-27%) | (3) Miss Sunset Strip 14/1, 80/1, fifth of 13 in novice at Kempton (7f) on debut 71 days ago. Needs to leave that behind. Promise over 7f on her debut ten weeks ago; each-way claims with improvement likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/2 +45%) Say You'll Never |
11/2(+45%) | (6) Say You'll Never 11/2, Twice-raced filly. 5/1, fifth of 10 in C&D novice 56 days ago. More will be needed. Minor promise in two runs in late 2023; improvement required to take this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (6/5 +60%) Wild Saffron |
6/5(+60%) | (7) Wild Saffron 6/5, Placed twice from 3 starts this winter, showing improved form when second of 9 over 7f here last month. Looks speedy enough to cope with the drop back to 6f. Should go well again. 2nd over 7f here last month; another step forward will likely be needed dropped to 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (150/1 -275%) Niloufar |
150/1(-275%) | (4) Niloufar 150/1, Has failed to beat a rival in 2 outings over 7 months apart. Probably more one for handicaps after this. Last of seven in both her starts; handicaps over further will be more suitable after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (200/1 -300%) Takeityouremine |
200/1(-300%) | (1) Takeityouremine 200/1, In good hands but sent off at 40/1 when well held on last week's course debut. 40-1, green and offered little short-term promise in a 5f novice here last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (300/1 -200%) The Carligation |
300/1(-200%) | (9) The Carligation 300/1, Big prices and well held in 2 outings before Christmas. Big outsider again. Well beaten at huge odds in two runs this winter; one for low-grade handicaps after this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SHALLOW made a debut full of promise at Kempton when only beaten by Fair Angellica, who has struck twice subsequently, and she would have learned a great deal from the experience. Richard Spencer's filly should have any amount of improvement forthcoming and looks the one to beat. Raffles Angel was no match for the front pair over 5f here last month, but could easily take a step forward. Of the remainder, Wild Saffron appeals most after her course second over 7f.
SHALLOW is taken to build on her promising debut second at Kempton in the autumn and prove too strong for recent 7f course runner-up Wild Saffron, who should be fine back at 6f, and Rae Guest's Raffles Angel.
Raffles Angel should leave her debut behind her but SHALLOW can confirm the promise of last season's Kempton debut.

10/3(+58%) | (8) Blackjack 10/3, 5/1, good second of 8 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 10 days ago. Can make presence felt. Two good runs after a six-month break; 2lb well in; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/1 +0%) How Impressive |
2/1(+0%) | (1) How Impressive 2/1, 5/2, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at Kempton (7f) 1 day ago, readily. Carries penalty. Shortlist material. Easy winner of his last 2 starts; unpenalised for yesterday's win; big player back at 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 -17%) Masterclass |
7/1(-17%) | (5) Masterclass 7/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in November. 6/1, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 10 days ago. Big player if the race is run to suit. C&D winner off 1lb lower in November; good 3rd at Southwell ten days ago; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/1 +8%) Conquistador |
11/1(+8%) | (3) Conquistador 11/1, 22/1 and eyeshields on for 1st time, ninth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 25 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Has a bit to prove. Faces a marked drop in grade today and new headgear is tried; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (11/2 -38%) Maharajas Express |
11/2(-38%) | (6) Maharajas Express 11/2, Latest win at Wolverhampton in December. 5/4, creditable second of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 9 days ago, slowly away. Should be on the premises again. 5f win at Wolverhampton in December; near miss back there last week; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (20/1 -67%) Golden Passport |
20/1(-67%) | (4) Golden Passport 20/1, Seventh of 8 in handicap (12/1) at Southwell (6.1f) 23 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Others make more appeal. Has not built on promising stable debut in December; blinkers could help; not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (50/1 -213%) Libra Tiger |
50/1(-213%) | (7) Libra Tiger 50/1, Good second of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 17/2) 43 days ago. On a good mark if he can build on that. Good 2nd at Kempton six weeks ago; this is a stronger race and others are more appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (28/1 -40%) Pablo Del Pueblo |
28/1(-40%) | (9) Pablo Del Pueblo 28/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 11/2, fifth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 13 days ago. Risky proposition at present. On a good mark but he's quirky and hasn't been at his best this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (13/2 +7%) Bang On The Bell |
13/2(+7%) | (2) Bang On The Bell 13/2, Four wins from 16 runs last year. Didn't need to improve to win 8-runner handicap (4/1) at Lingfield (5f, AW) 46 days ago by neck from Pablo Del Pueblo. Another bold showing expected. Best at 5f but has C&D form & comes here on the back of a Lingfield win; Rossa Ryan booked. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BANG ON THE BELL made amends for two consecutive seconds when getting up by a neck over 5f at Lingfield on New Year's Eve, and he is just 3lb higher so could prove a tough nut to crack. Maharajas Express, fifth in that race, was then only denied by a short head at Wolverhampton and competes off the same mark so has to be considered. Libra Tiger hit the crossbar at Kempton and also warrants plenty of respect.
HOW IMPRESSIVE was better than ever when scoring at Lingfield 10 days ago and followed up at Kempton on Wednesday, so he's a likely candidate to defy a penalty if in the same form. Maharajas Express and Masterclass are two of several dangers in a warm race for the grade.
Conquistador and How Impressive have claims but BLACKJACK has been threatening and this could be his day.

1st (2) (7/4 +22%) Sighter |
7/4(+22%) | (2) Sighter 7/4, Promising individual. Third of 7 in maiden (40/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 13 days ago, not knocked about. Makes her handicap debut off a lenient mark so she has to be taken seriously. Improved effort when 3rd at Lingfield last time; moves into handicaps with some potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 +38%) Crocus Time |
5/1(+38%) | (1) Crocus Time 5/1, Seventh of 8 in handicap (40/1) at this course (5f) 25 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Has work to do. Yet to sparkle in handicaps but she's down in class and returning to 7f will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (15/2 -7%) Rhasidat |
15/2(-7%) | (5) Rhasidat 15/2, Latest win at Kempton in January. 13/2, tenth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 16 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Two 7f wins on AW but she flopped last time and needs a new high to come out on top. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (4/1 -14%) Ocean Bliss |
4/1(-14%) | (6) Ocean Bliss 4/1, Ex-Irish filly who shaped as if still in need of the experience when seventh of 10 in maiden (11/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 12 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Should improve. Well in the mix. Third over C&D on stable debut last month; less good over 6f latest; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (8/1 -33%) Moreginplease |
8/1(-33%) | (4) Moreginplease 8/1, Blinkered for 1st time, creditable fourth of 8 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 12 days ago. Not discounted with headgear again sported. 0-13; often placed but she's not progressing and looks vulnerable to an improver. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/2 -38%) Keen Interest |
11/2(-38%) | (3) Keen Interest 11/2, 6/1, below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 16 days ago on his final run for William Haggas. Makes polytrack debut with hood/tongue strap on and more required. No progress for W Haggas; sold 6,500gns this month; new accessories tried on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Richard Hannon launches a twin-pronged attack and while Crocus Time has dropped to a handy enough mark to warrant consideration, her stable companion SIGHTER possesses more scope for progression and could be the yard's principal player. The daughter of Expert Eye debuts in a handicap from a highly workable mark and has a live chance at the weights, with Alec Voikhansky's 5lb claim a notable factor. Rhasidat is also feared if judged on her Kempton triumph rather than her subsequent Southwell no-show.
A few with chances but SIGHTER looks to start life in handicaps off a handy mark so gets the vote. Ocean Bliss also warrants plenty of respect on his debut in this sphere with Moreginplease appealing as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
A drop into Class 6 and step back up in trip could see CROCUS TIME break her duck. Stablemate Sighter could be the biggest danger.

25/1(+24%) | (3) Platinum Jubilee 25/1, 25/1, last of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 17 days ago. Hard to make a case for. Out the back in her last three handicaps and has plenty to prove at this new trip. |

3rd (1) (9/2 +10%) Graffiti |
9/2(+10%) | (1) Graffiti 9/2, Two wins from 5 runs last year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. 5/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 26 days ago. Can make presence felt. Clearcut win at Wolverhampton in November and he went close there last month; respected. |

Had an excuse last time, so can get back on track. Won at Newcastle (1m2f) last month and has claims if he can recapture that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/2 +21%) Jenson Benson |
11/2(+21%) | (5) Jenson Benson 11/2, 4-time course winner. Fourth of 6 in handicap at this course (7f, 15/2) 14 days ago, left poorly placed. Very much one to note back up in distance. C&D winner; on a dangerous mark and looks interesting on this big step back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (2/1 +11%) At Liberty |
2/1(+11%) | (4) At Liberty 2/1, 12/1, good second of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 6 days ago. Handicapped to win and a bold showing is expected. Had a near miss at Wolverhampton (1m4f) last week and he's on same mark here; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (12/1 +52%) Hotspur Harry |
12/1(+52%) | (8) Hotspur Harry 12/1, Unreliable individual. Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. Seventh of 11 in handicap (22/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 39 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Cheekpieces back on. Others make more appeal. Well handicapped on best form last year but he's a slow starter who has not won since 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (6/1 -50%) Curtiz |
6/1(-50%) | (9) Curtiz 6/1, 5/1, won 10-runner handicap at this C&D 28 days ago, well positioned. Should give another good account. Ended long losing over C&D last month and he remains well treated on old form; shortlisted. |

9th (7) (33/1 -106%) Zooks |
33/1(-106%) | (7) Zooks 33/1, 11/1, fifth of 7 in handicap at Kempton (11f) 12 days ago. May yet have a bigger effort in her. Nine-race maiden who has been well held back on the Flat the last twice; others preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
With all three of his previous career wins registered at this trip, AT LIBERTY is presented with a good opportunity to add an all-weather success to his profile. A respectable third over this course and distance on his penultimate start, prior to a Wolverhampton near-miss, the five-year-old seems unfazed by Polytrack and another bold showing is predicted given he is officially 1lb well-in. Jenson Benson and Graffiti are the pick of the rest.
AT LIBERTY is well treated and produced his best effort for this stable when runner-up at Wolverhampton 6 days ago, so he's worth chancing to go one better. Jenson Benson looks a danger back up to a suitable distance and Graffiti warrants plenty of respect.
Top of the list is AT LIBERTY, who was only just caught at Wolverhampton last week and is on the same mark on this drop back to 1m2f.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing.
