17:25 Chelmsford City (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HIJO DE LA LUNA was only narrowly denied when runner-up over this trip at Newcastle last week and the five-year-old is very hard to oppose off the same mark. Tactical Control also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing and the switch to a first-time visor may spark some progression. Night Arc edges out the returning Stintino Sunset to be the pick of the remainder.

This can go to NIGHT ARC, who has slipped in the weights and ran well last time. He's worth another go over this trip.

18:00 Chelmsford City (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PARADOXICAL's winning run came to an end when a close second over an extended mile at Wolverhampton 10 days ago. That said, he's 2lb lower here and it would be no surprise to see him score once again. Shahbaz also filled the runner-up spot at the same venue on his most recent outing and Ian Williams' gelding should not be underestimated. The shortlist is completed by Free Speech and Cavalry Call.

Topweight PARADOXICAL (nap) bumped into one on the middle leg of a hat-trick when denied a five-timer at Wolverhampton ten days ago.

18:30 Chelmsford City (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WALNUT outran big odds when filling third place on his racecourse bow over 6f at Wolverhampton last month. With the benefit of that experience, the three-year-old could be hard to beat here. Cape Sovereign showed ability as a juvenile and has to be noted having had gelding and wind operations since his latest appearance in September. Any market support for Honest Courtesan on her debut would be interesting.

With the drop to 5f looking a plus, WALNUT should build on his Wolverhampton promise. Cape Sovereign is second choice.

Now that SIR RODNEYREDBLOOD has regained the winning thread after a determined performance over C&D last time, the eight-year-old may have plenty more to come and he can follow up off 3lb higher with Billy Loughnane taking over in the saddle. Narrowly denied at Lingfield on her most recent start, Rebel Star remains unexposed after just six starts, while Southbank has been consistent of late without getting his head in front.

Rebel Star is weighted to reverse last week's Lingfield placing with MIDNIGHTATTHEOASIS but it may not be that straightforward.

19:30 Chelmsford City (Class 2) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A Listed winner last season, Derby entry LUTHER disappointed when last seen in the Royal Lodge but remains a colt of considerable potential at three, being by Frankel out of a mare that won the Musidora. Impressive in two starts at Kempton before a steep rise in grade caught him out in the Futurity, Detain must be a leading contender, as well as Yaroogh, who should be primed for this after a spin at Al Uqda in February.

The well-bred DETAIN could be set for a fine season and he impressed on the Kempton Polytrack last October. Luther is a danger.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KRACKING may have gone for home too soon when weakening into fourth inside the final furlong over C&D last week. Jockey Warren Fentiman should have learnt plenty from that ride and compensation could be on the cards. Twitch arrives on the back of a creditable third at Lingfield and a similar performance should see him in the mix. Craig Benton's gelding is feared most, ahead of the returning Nammos.

Keep a close eye on the betting where Roach Power is concerned but NAMMOS has ideal conditions and can make a winning return.

20:30 Chelmsford City (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A drop in distance didn't work out as hoped for HYPE MERCHANT when coming home in fifth over 6f at Southwell 34 days ago. However, the combination of tonight's 7f trip and the application of first-time blinkers could prove just the tonic. David Loughnane's charge is taken to open his account at the main expense of Adelaide Bay, who is open to improvement on the back of a gelding procedure. No Gain and I Follow Rivers are also noted.

This looks a minefield but ADELAIDE BAY would have finished closer here with a clear run when last seen and could yet rate higher.
