(4) Heritier De Sivola 7/2, Maiden Irish pointer who made all in a novice handicap hurdle at Kelso (22.5f) in December. Pulled up in handicap chase (10/1) at Huntingdon and didn't show much more at Catterick.
Has made disappointing start to chasing career but is now well treated on hurdling form.

(5) Zara's Universe 8/1, Took a couple of handicap chases at the end of last season but had winning run ended at Newcastle in May. Probably needed the run back over hurdles after 6 months off at Sedgfield but hard to find an excuse for dismal effort back chasing last time.
Won two chases in the spring but hasn't fired lately.

(2) Trac 13/8, Enjoyed an excellent season over fences last term, scoring three times, including at this venue. Easy to forgive his reappearance at Wetherby and bounced right back to form when runner-up at Sedgefield a month ago. Big player if in the same mood.
Triple chase winner last season (once over C&D); good second last month; major player.

12:30 Catterick Handicap Chase (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TRAC left behind his Wetherby reappearance when bouncing back to finish runner-up at Sedgefield last month and the six-year-old, who was raised 1lb for that effort, has been found an excellent opportunity to get back to winning ways. Zara's Universe has been dropped 3lb by the handicapper and is capable of better, while any market support for Mizuma would make him of interest.

Not a deep race so a repeat of the level TRAC achieved when second at Sedgefield a month ago will probably see him go one place better. Onenightintown, a stablemate of the selection, may give him most to think about.

This uncompetitive opener provides a good opportunity for TRAC to win for the fourth time over fences.
