LTO Selection:

14:05 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Not many of these have shown anything by way of recent form, but it may pay to side with JUSTAHUNCH, who at least displayed promise on his first two starts before disappointing at Lingfield last month. He can strike on his nursery debut off a mark of 62, with Zachary and the capable Vidi Vici looking best placed to chase him home. Raft Up is also entitled to be thereabouts.

Having shown bright speed for a long way on debut at Musselburgh, ZACHARY failed to build on that in 2 subsequent outings but he did have some excuses and, now handicapping on the back of being gelded, it would come as no surprise to see him make more of an impact from a lowly mark. Justahunch and Vidi Vici, both fitted with first-time blinkers, are others to consider in a trappy opener.

This looks very tricky and the tentative vote goes to JUSTAHUNCH, who looks a possible improver back at 5f on his nursery debut.

LTO Selection:

14:40 Brighton Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This can go the way of FLY ZONE, who sets the standard on form, having finished behind a subsequent Group 3 winner when second on his penultimate start at York. A respectable third at Chelmsford since, the son of Expert Eye is preferred to Paternoster Square, who has not been outside the first three in his last three starts, and as eight-race maiden Cobalt Blue.

Little between the principals on form but COBALT BLUE looks the way to go on the back of his good C&D handicap second now back in maiden company. Sir Michael Stoute's Fly Zone is less exposed and rates the chief threat to Roger Varian's fairly useful gelding, with Paternoster Square in the picture too.

The top three on the card are all closely matched on the figures but the vote goes to COBALT BLUE, who went close over C&D last time.

LTO Selection:

15:15 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The Jamie Osborne stable can do little wrong at present and the consistent MISS SLIGO looks to hold every chance of notching up an eighth career success. The step back up in trip is a major plus after finishing second over 1m2f at Leicester and he can see off the likes of top-weight Angel On High and Global Style, who is slightly unlucky not to be arriving on a course hat-trick. Pure Bubbles and Send In The Clouds are likely to be thereabouts as well.

GLOBAL STYLE arrives in fine form so this recent course winner edges the vote now back in handicap company. It's How We Roll (second choice) and Miss Sligo both bring very solid credentials to the table too however so should ensure Tony Carroll's gelding doesn't have things all his own way in a tightly-knit handicap.

Tony Carroll has two interesting contenders in Global Style and Send In The Clouds but slight preference is for MISS SLIGO.

LTO Selection:

15:50 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

RITA RANA has settled better since having a hood fitted at Bath last month and recent placed efforts suggest that a race of this nature is within her compass. The Game Is Up posted a more encouraging effort when fourth at Windsor last Monday and may give the selection most to think about from the foot of the weights. Lady Bracken's opening mark doesn't appear the kindest on what she's achieved so far, but the three-year-old is open to more improvement than most and completes the shortlist.

CRYPTOS DREAM made a promising start for Jack Jones when a running-on fourth at Windsor and can gain her breakthrough success here with this longer trip looking a big plus. Bbob Alula is well weighted and has winning course form to his name so could emerge as the chief threat ahead of in-form maiden Young Winston.

Preference is for RITA RANA, who has turned things around in a hood recently and was only just caught at Lingfield last time.

LTO Selection:

16:25 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HEER'S SADIE was thwarted in her hat-trick bid when runner-up over 7f here off this mark earlier in the month, but the Julia Feilden-trained mare looks to have more races in her and could get back on the scoresheet now returned to 1m. Galileo Glass found himself with too much to do when a never-nearer second at Chepstow in late July and he is another to note racing off the same rating in this contest, while Arlo's Sunshine recently found only one too good in a classified stakes event over C&D and warrants respect.

HEER'S SADIE is building up an excellent Brighton record, doing little wrong when runner-up from this mark chasing a hat-trick 12 days ago. She can get back to winning ways here, possibly at the chief expense of Free Step and Uncle Dick.

The vote goes to the resurgent 5yo HEER'S SADIE, who finished well when runner-up in her bid for a 7f course hat-trick last time.

(8) Spanish Mane 12/1, C&D winner. 11/1, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Lingfield (7f, good to soft) 21 days ago, digging deep. That attitude will continue to hold her in good stead.
Has won at Lingfield in two of her last three runs and is as good as ever; major player.

LTO Selection:

16:55 Brighton Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Spanish Mane regained the winning thread at Lingfield last time and the two-time course winner merits respect off only 2lb higher in this event. However, OPTIVA STAR makes slightly more appeal after gaining a breakthrough success over C&D in early August, with apprentice Alec Voikhansky now on board claiming 5lb. That effectively puts the three-year-old 1lb lower here and a double could be on the horizon. Media Guest has been performing well enough over this distance of late to suggest that he could have a say too.

George Margarson and Mikkel Mortensen combined to good effect recently and MEDIA GUEST looks the one to be with having confirmed he's back in excellent order from his reduced mark at Leicester last time. Optiva Star and Batchelor Bay are a couple of potential threats.

Preference is for the admirable 8yo SPANISH MANE (nap), who has won at Lingfield in two of her last three runs and is as good as ever.
