1st (5) (6/1 -71%) Kondratiev Wave |
6/1(-71%) | (5) Kondratiev Wave 6/1, Twenty two runs since last win in 2021. 11/2, creditable fourth of 14 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) 54 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up. In good form on AW and meets several of today's rivals on favourable terms; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (33/1 -136%) Muy Muy Guapo |
33/1(-136%) | (7) Muy Muy Guapo 33/1, Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. Tenth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good, 25/1) 44 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Needs a couple of these to falter. Out of sorts in his three runs this year and he's now 0-18; lots to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (13/2 +59%) Gilt Edge |
13/2(+59%) | (3) Gilt Edge 13/2, Seventeen runs since last win in 2021. Ninth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 40/1). Off 6 months but not taken lightly if fully tuned up for her return. Last win was in August 2021 and she's best watched back up in trip after six months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (15/2 -88%) Fai Fai |
15/2(-88%) | (1) Fai Fai 15/2, Modest gelding. 12/1, won 10-runner handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 6 days ago, suited by way race developed. One for the shortlist. Won on AW last week; this is tougher under penalty but he's not ruled out back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (5/2 +62%) Voltaic |
5/2(+62%) | (9) Voltaic 5/2, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Respectable fifth of 13 in handicap (18/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 21 days ago. Has good chance on pick of form. Record of 2223 at this track and could be a big factor if he gets a good pace back at 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (16/1 -167%) My Bonnie Lassie |
16/1(-167%) | (8) My Bonnie Lassie 16/1, One win from 25 Flat runs. 33/1 and visored for 1st time, first run since leaving Steve Woodman when good third of 11 in handicap here (6f, good) 34 days ago. Considered. Good third here (6f) on comeback for new yard and has claims if she can build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (5/2 +38%) Broxi |
5/2(+38%) | (2) Broxi 5/2, C&D winner. Latest win at Newcastle in March. Solid fourth of 9 in handicap at Leicester (7f, soft, 7/1) 6 days ago when racing closer to pace than ideal. Big shout. Dual C&D winner who was a good third at Chepstow two runs back; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (25/1 +0%) He's Our Star |
25/1(+0%) | (4) He's Our Star 25/1, Poor gelding. C&D winner. Ninth of 12 in handicap (20/1) at this course (8f, good) 44 days ago. Easy to look elsewhere. Won a C&D classified event last August but he's not matched that form since; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (22/1 -120%) Mc's Wag |
22/1(-120%) | (6) Mc's Wag 22/1, Below form sixth of 10 in handicap here (5.3f, good to soft) 25 days ago, never nearer. Significantly back up in trip with more to do. 11-race maiden; well held the last twice and this looks tough on adjusted figures. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
FAI FAI has to top the shortlist after running on well over a furlong shorter to score by a neck on the Lingfield all-weather last week and he makes plenty of appeal dropping into this company. Broxi arrives boasting an unbeaten C&D record (2/2) and has to be respected, leaving Mc's Wag as the perhaps the best option for the minor placing.
A few with chances but BROXI wasn't seen to ideal effect when fourth at Leicester last time and can also boast winning C&D form so edges the vote. Tony Carroll's duo Voltaic and Kondratiev Wave both bring solid credentials to the table too and can chase home Ivan Furtado's 6-y-o.
The vote goes to VOLTAIC, who has form figures of 2223 at this track and should get a decent pace to aim at on this drop back in trip.

1st (4) (4/9 +34%) Mutamanni |
4/9(+34%) | (4) Mutamanni 4/9, Twice-raced gelding. Good second of 4 in maiden (well-backed 6/4) at Ayr (6f, good to firm) 12 days ago, headed dying strides. Leading claims. Only just caught at Ayr and he's open to more progress dropped in trip; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (22/1 +45%) Big Time Rascal |
22/1(+45%) | (1) Big Time Rascal 22/1, Down the field in maidens/minor event at 2 yrs. Off 9 months/has left George Boughey. Plenty of improvement needed. Struggled in three 2yo runs for George Boughey and can only be watched on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/4 -50%) Rawaasi |
9/4(-50%) | (6) Rawaasi 9/4, Fair filly. Off 7 months and again sent off favourite, bit below form third of 6 in maiden (11/10) at Ayr (6f, good) on return 20 days ago, hanging left. Cheekpieces now go on. Proving expensive to follow. 0-6 but has leading claims on her best form and she's respected back at 5f; headgear added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (40/1 +39%) River Edge |
40/1(+39%) | (5) River Edge 40/1, Havana Grey gelding. Dam, 5f winner, closely related to useful 6f winner Bright Edge. Withdrawn after getting upset in the stalls here in April and was 28-1 at the time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (80/1 -21%) Leitrim Spirit |
80/1(-21%) | (3) Leitrim Spirit 80/1, Twice-raced gelding. Fourteenth of 16 in minor event (125/1) at Chelmsford City (8f) 11 days ago. Significantly down in trip. Out the back in two runs this spring (7f/1m) and has stacks to find on this drop to 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (25/1 -127%) Just Ten High |
25/1(-127%) | (2) Just Ten High 25/1, 18,000 gns yearling, 50,000 gns 2-y-o, Ten Sovereigns gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 7f The Cheka and useful 9f-10.4f winner Wall of Sound. Likely type on paper on belated debut and yard can ready one. Has fair target to aim at on debut and could be one for longer trips later on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Ayr second Mutamanni may prove popular here after being caught close home over a fraction further last time out. However, that wasn't much of a race and he won't have his own way at the head of affairs with Rawaasi equally happy on the front end. Newcomer JUST TEN HIGH could be the one if he settles behind the front runners with him boasting a smart pedigree, being a half-brother to Group 3 winner The Cheka.
MUTAMANNI was caught only at the death at Ayr a fortnight ago, taking a step forward from her Yarmouth debut fourth which is looking good form, and he's preferred to Rawaasi, who has had plenty of chances and failed to keep straight when a beaten favourite once again on her comeback.
This should revolve around Rawaasi and MUTAMANNI and the vote goes to the latter who had a near miss at Ayr 12 days ago.

1st (2) (11/4 +0%) Blenheim Star |
11/4(+0%) | (2) Blenheim Star 11/4, Took form to a new level when winning 9-runner handicap (7/2) at Ripon (8f, soft) 4 days ago, plenty in hand. Very much the one to beat under a penalty if coping with quick turnaround. Justified favouritism in good style at Ripon on Thursday; big player again under penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/2 -80%) Red Cloud |
9/2(-80%) | (7) Red Cloud 9/2, Showed little in a trio of juvenile outings but gambled on and shaped very well when second of 12 in handicap at this course (7f, good) 13 days ago, running on late having missed the break. Has a bigger performance in him. Finished well when second on handicap debut here (1m) last month; interesting up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (12/1 +14%) Amerigo Vespucci |
12/1(+14%) | (5) Amerigo Vespucci 12/1, Visored for first time, below form ninth of 15 in handicap (4/1) at Doncaster (8f, firm) 16 days ago, though he was hampered. Cheekpieces back on. Beat Dashing Donkey at Yarmouth in April but he's been disappointing since and is now 1-14. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (125/1 -213%) Wedgewood Sapphire |
125/1(-213%) | (6) Wedgewood Sapphire 125/1, Sent off 66/1 but was making headway when eighth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 26 days ago. This will reveal more. Well held in all four runs and she needs a transformation back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (4/1 +20%) Alshimali |
4/1(+20%) | (1) Alshimali 4/1, Travelled with a bit more purpose when fourteenth of 19 in minor event (200/1) at Newbury (7f, good) 17 days ago. Tongue strap on first time and handicaps much more suitable. Unexposed colt and he looks a possible improver with tongue-tie added on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (150/1 -436%) Platinum Perfect |
150/1(-436%) | (8) Platinum Perfect 150/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 200/1, fifth of 6 in novice event at Lingfield (6f, AW) 32 days ago. Significantly up in trip for handicap debut. Tailed off in all three runs and she needs lots of improvement on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (7/4 +61%) Dashing Donkey |
7/4(+61%) | (4) Dashing Donkey 7/4, Gelded ahead of handicap debut and came within a short-head of winning at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm) 41 days ago, better placed than most but a long way clear of the rest. Has to be of interest. Went very close on handicap debut at Yarmouth in April and he's respected up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (28/1 -100%) Dwynwen |
28/1(-100%) | (3) Dwynwen 28/1, Broke on terms when fourth of 7 in handicap at this course (9.9f, good to soft, 12/1) 25 days ago. More needed. Front-running fourth on handicap debut here (1m2f) last month; in the mix back in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Alshimali is bred to be better than we have seen so far and is worth a market watch ahead of his handicap debut. Red Cloud ran his best race yet when second here over 7f last month and he could be the biggest danger to BLENHEIM STAR. An eased down winner at Ripon last week, he runs carrying a 6lb penalty and may double up if handling these quicker conditions expected here.
BLENHEIM STAR cranked it up a notch when a smooth winner at Ripon on Thursday and she looks ahead of the game under a penalty. Having been punted on reappearance here a fortnight ago, Red Cloud shaped well in second and there should be plenty more to come from him give his lowly mark. Dashing Donkey completes the shortlist.
Several have claims but RED CLOUD edges preference over Blenheim Star and Dashing Donkey.

1st (4) (12/1 +14%) Shalfa |
12/1(+14%) | (4) Shalfa 12/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Lingfield in January. 18/1, went with some promise without totally convincing with her stamina on her first crack at hurdling when fifth of 8 at Plumpton (15.9f, good to firm) just over 3 weeks ago. More needed back on the level. Disappointing since her Lingfield win in January and well held on hurdling debut last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/4 +21%) Uncle Dick |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Uncle Dick 11/4, 17/2 and blinkered for 1st time, wasn't seen to best effect back on all-weather when sixth of 7 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 5 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Back up in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Dual course winner in recent weeks, he should be in the mix. Five-time course winner including two this spring; respected on this step back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/4 +45%) On The Cards |
6/4(+45%) | (1) On The Cards 6/4, Ran creditably making his handicap/turf debut after 4 months off when third of 8 at Bath (8f, heavy, 12/1) 4 weeks ago. Back up in trip and may well build on that. Creditable third on handicap debut at Bath and he's open to more progress upped to 1m2f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/1 +36%) Douglas Dc |
9/1(+36%) | (2) Douglas Dc 9/1, Found brief run of good form coming to an abrupt halt when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Newbury (20.5f, heavy, 33/1) 3 months ago. Makes Flat debut for this yard and not discounted provided he's ready to roll after a break. Sole win over hurdles in 2022; pulled up last time and has something to prove back on Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/1 -157%) Semser |
9/1(-157%) | (5) Semser 9/1, Temperamental sort. Ran better than previously this year when fourth of 10 in handicap (12/1) at this course (11.9f, good to soft) 13 days ago, slowly away. Not one to have maximum faith in building on that but drop back in trip should suit. Headstrong sort who showed signs of a revival here last time; not ruled out back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/2 -83%) Twilight Guest |
11/2(-83%) | (6) Twilight Guest 11/2, 11/1, respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, soft) 12 days ago. Remains a long-standing maiden though, so it's probably best to look elsewhere even though a promising claimer takes the ride. 0-19 but some creditable efforts this year and he looks worth a try at this new trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ON THE CARDS made a pleasing handicap debut when hitting the frame over a mile at Bath last month and the handicapper may have been kind to drop him 1lb for that effort. With the step up in trip likely to unlock further improvement, this appears to be a suitable opportunity to shed the maiden tag. The main danger might be Twilight Guest, who wasn't disgraced in fourth at Yarmouth last time and it would be no surprise to see him get involved, while Semser is another to consider.
Impossible to rule out any of the sextet, but preference is for UNCLE DICK, who has already won twice over 1m here this year and is fancied to add to that tally stepping back up in trip with his usual cheekpieces reapplied. On The Cards remains unexposed, so he can give the selection most to think about, with Douglas Dc rounding off the shortlist.
This looks tricky but the lightly raced 4yo ON THE CARDS gets the vote ahead of Uncle Dick and Twilight Guest.

1st (7) (2/1 +6%) Oh So Audacious |
2/1(+6%) | (7) Oh So Audacious 2/1, C&D winner. Good fourth of 11 in handicap (5/1) at Yarmouth (8f, soft) 12 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Makes most appeal. C&D winner who has reached the frame in both runs this season; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 -13%) Shaw Park |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Shaw Park 9/2, Very good fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft, 20/1) 6 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Can't be ruled out. 0-13 but he's unexposed on turf and was an eyecatcher over C&D last week; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 +36%) Prefer The Sister |
7/2(+36%) | (1) Prefer The Sister 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 7/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 24 days ago. Still not fully exposed. Unexposed filly who didn't get any luck on handicap debut at Nottingham; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/3 +5%) Mudlahhim |
10/3(+5%) | (6) Mudlahhim 10/3, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Creditable third of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft, 8/1) 6 days ago. Not taken lightly. 0-20 on turf but has record of 44233 here in last five runs; in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (16/1 +0%) Lily In The Jungle |
16/1(+0%) | (5) Lily In The Jungle 16/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 13/2, eighth of 9 in handicap at this course (6f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Others are more appealing. Has lost her way and has lots to prove at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (66/1 -65%) Arnie Angell |
66/1(-65%) | (8) Arnie Angell 66/1, Last of 7 in handicap (80/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 35 days ago. Others more persuasive. 0-13 and has finished last after slow starts in two runs for current yard; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (18/1 +28%) Unsung Hero |
18/1(+28%) | (3) Unsung Hero 18/1, 33/1, eleventh of 13 in handicap at Newbury (8f, good) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Needs to get back on track. Generally struggled during light campaign in 2023 and was tailed off on return last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (14/1 -100%) Golden Passport |
14/1(-100%) | (2) Golden Passport 14/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. 11/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 25 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Others more persuasive. Sole win was in 2022 and he's finished down the field in all six runs for current yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
OH SO AUDACIOUS has run with credit on both outings so far this campaign including when fourth at Yarmouth on her latest outing. Harry Eustace's five-year-old looks ready to strike, with her main threat possibly being Shaw Park, who showed a lot more when he finished fourth over C&D last Tuesday and he should go well. Of the remainder, Prefer The Sister makes the most appeal.
OH SO AUDACIOUS shaped well at Yarmouth last time and her course experience is a big plus, so she's preferred to Mudlahhim in a thin race. Shaw Park also arrives in form and is worth considering.
An open race in which the vote goes to the unexposed PREFER THE SISTER (nap), who didn't get any luck on her handicap debut last month.

Don't Fight It |
(5) (14/1 +0%)14/1(+0%) | (5) Don't Fight It 14/1, 50/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at this course (7f, heavy). Off 8 months, back down in trip and visored for the first time on this debut for new yard. Returns for another new yard and she needs a major revival back in trip; visor added. |

1st (10) (11/4 +0%) Victors Dream |
11/4(+0%) | (10) Victors Dream 11/4, Modest gelding. Bit below form third of 6 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW, 5/2) 56 days ago. Record stands at 0-14 but he's pretty reliable and has a serious chance at the weights. 0-14 but he's generally reliable and has claims if this sets up for his closing style. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +11%) Bluebells Boy |
4/1(+11%) | (3) Bluebells Boy 4/1, Modest gelding. Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. 5/1, creditable third of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 11 days ago. Down in trip and he's an each-way contender. Some good efforts on AW this year and has claims if he gets a good pace back at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (12/1 -200%) Stryder |
12/1(-200%) | (9) Stryder 12/1, Modest gelding. 10/1, last of 8 in handicap at Windsor (5.1f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Close second on penultimate start and he's a key player on these terms. Unexposed at this trip and looks interesting on his second at Chelmsford in January. |

4th (2) (15/2 -15%) Anificas Beauty |
15/2(-15%) | (2) Anificas Beauty 15/2, 14/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 25 days ago. Clear chance at the weights but she needs to bounce back. Out of sorts on AW this year and has plenty to prove back at 5f on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (100/1 -150%) Almavillalobas |
100/1(-150%) | (1) Almavillalobas 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, seventh of 8 in minor event at Wolverhampton (5.1f). Off 7 months. Readily passed over. Didn't show much last year and she needs a transformation back from 221 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (7/2 +65%) Confederation |
7/2(+65%) | (4) Confederation 7/2, Unreliable individual. C&D maiden winner in 2022 (sole success from 29 career starts). 15/2, ninth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) 25 days ago. Opposable. Two runner-up efforts in February but down the field in last five runs and is now 1-29. |

10/3(+45%) | (7) I'm Mable 10/3, Modest mare. C&D winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Fourth of 6 in handicap (9/2) at this C&D (good) 13 days ago. Each-way squeak. C&D winner who was a good third here on her penultimate run; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (125/1 -89%) Hurricane Alert |
125/1(-89%) | (6) Hurricane Alert 125/1, Thirty-six runs since last win in 2019. Last of 10 in handicap (250/1) at this C&D (good to soft) 25 days ago, met some trouble. Best watched. 12yo who has finished last in three runs this spring after a long layoff; no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (80/1 -60%) Poppyequiano |
80/1(-60%) | (8) Poppyequiano 80/1, Poor mare. Hooded for 1st time, last of 8 in handicap (125/1) at Lingfield (6f, AW). Off 6 months and she looks set for another struggle. Eight-race maiden who has yet to be placed and she has plenty of work to do on these terms. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Victors Dream wasn't beaten far into third at Lingfield in April and he needs to be considered. However, the vote goes to ANIFICAS BEAUTY, who has failed to fire on the all-weather so far this season, but the return to turf and booking of Tom Queally suggest she could spark a revival to get her head back in front. Bluebells Boy is another to watch out for.
This represents a good opportunity for VICTORS DREAM to finally get his head in front. Though still a maiden following 14 attempts, Marco Botti's charge has run more good races than bad ones overall and this is arguably the weakest event he has contested to date. Stryder and Bluebells Boy can fill the places.
Preference is for STRYDER, who is unexposed at this trip and looks interesting on his close second at Chelmsford in January.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.
