14:20 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This is a wide-open handicap to kick the card off, but marginal preference is for I'M MABLE. Michael Attwater's six-year-old won over C&D off a 10lb higher mark in June last year and looked unlucky when finishing third here 12 days ago. Off an unchanged mark of 47, she looks the one to beat. Street Parade might turn out to be the main danger, having finished a place in front of the selection when second here last time out and has leading claims. The Charlie Wallis-trained Arzaak, who will be ridden by Hollie Doyle, could also pose a threat.

This looks likely to be run at a good clip which can play to the strengths of STREET PARADE. Michael Attwater's 8-y-o ran well on the back of 8 months off when runner-up over C&D 12 days ago and he's on a handy mark if building on that now. 3-y-o Anglesey Lad and Windsor scorer Jacquelina are others to consider. I'm Mable isn't out of things either.

Well-treated C&D winners I'M MABLE and Street Parade ran encouragingly here 12 days ago and hold solid claims.

14:50 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

There was plenty to like about the way COGSWORTH opened his account over 7f at Chelmsford 19 days ago, and a 4lb rise in the handicap should not prove to be a hindrance to his outstanding credentials, with Silvestre De Sousa retained to ride. Gary and Josh Moore have been in good form recently and their handicap debutant Red Cloud could be worth a second look. Take Care may do best of the remainder.

COGSWORTH was having just his second start at this trip when scoring at Chelmsford earlier this month and remains fairly treated. He can follow up. Krysdanjord and Dancing The Dream can also make their presence felt.

On current form COGSWORTH (nap) holds the best chance, followed by Krysdanjord. Dancing The Dream completes the shortlist.

15:20 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Despite all of his wins here coming over 7f, five-time course winner UNCLE DICK could be hard to beat. The top-weight did very well to snatch victory off Otago in the final stride here 20 days ago, having come from further back than ideal, and should be in the shake-up off only a 2lb higher mark. The latter does renew rivalry with the former on better terms, though, and must be respected. Hitched is returning from a 213-day absence but scored at Wolverhampton off 2lb lower when last seen and is worth a second look.

OTAGO ran better than for a while when collared on the line by Uncle Dick here earlier in the month and, with the drop back in trip likely to suit him better than his old rival, he's selected to reverse the form and come out on top. Hitched was steadily progressive last year and could have more to offer in 2024, while Dion Baker ought to remain competitive.

Last year's winner DIAMOND COTTAGE is preferred. Otago is second choice.

15:50 Brighton Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Marcus Tregoning boasts an impressive 37 per cent strike-rate here in the last five seasons, with seven winners from just 19 runners, and his only representative on today's card is ATALANTA BREEZE. This eight-year-old mare has an absence of 292 days to overcome, but she won off this mark over C&D on her return from a layoff in September 2022 and could be primed to run a big race. Bottom-weight Hurtle only found one too good off this mark at Bath six days ago and could make an impact. At the other end of the handicap, top-weight Sailing On should be thereabouts after returning with a good placed effort at Bath.

ON THE RIGHT TRACK was too free on his recent return at Lingfield and is fancied to bounce back in style and capitalise on a handy-looking mark. Course-winner Hurtle can also have a say and is next on the list ahead of in-form duo Sailing On and Atalanta Breeze.

This looks the time to catch ATALANTA BREEZE. On recent form, Hurtle and Sailing On warrant respect.

16:20 Brighton Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The Scott Dixon-trained THANKS DAD exceeded market expectations on his belated debut last month when finishing third over 7f at Chelmsford at 80/1 and confirmed that initial promise when going down narrowly in second over the same C&D 12 days later. With potentially more to offer on his turf debut, the four-year-old could have a major say in the outcome. Archie Watson's February Kempton winner Perfectly Timed and Marco Botti's Drink Dry are others to consider in what looks a tricky race.

DRINK DRY has been running well in Dubai over the winter and was only just denied in a maiden here last summer, so gets the vote. Thanks Dad stepped up on debut when only just failing at Chelmsford and is next best ahead of Masterofgreygoose, who made an eyecatching debut last month.

The pick at the weights is DRINK DRY. Second choice is Post Rider.

16:55 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

RIVAS ROB ROY has established himself as a Brighton specialist, with five course wins to his name, including three over today's distance. His penultimate victory here was off today's mark of 51 and he should be able to build on his recent C&D third. Arlo's Sunshine was ahead of him three weeks ago, though, when staying on strongly to finish a half-length second, and he has knocked on the door several times here to suggest a return to winnings ways could be imminent. Mudlahhim came within three-quarters of a length of victory when second over 7f here 12 days ago and, off an unchanged mark of 52, he could be an appealing alternative.

Having slipped below his last winning mark and knocking firmly on the door of late, MUDLAHHIM looks the way to go. He was beaten under a length by Voodoo Ray over 7f here recently and that rival boosted the form when going in again at Bath last week. Rivas Rob Roy could be the one to follow him home, with Bhubezi and Arlo's Sunshine also worth considering from an each-way perspective.

A chance is taken on BHUBEZI now back at Brighton, where he has recorded positive performances in the past.
