1st (1) (4/5 -30%) Call Time |
4/5(-30%) | (1) Call Time 4/5, Fair gelding. Good second of 4 in handicap at Ffos Las (5f, heavy, 15/8) 78 days ago. The one to beat back in novice company. 0-9 but runner-up at Ffos Las the last twice and this could be a good opportunity. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/4 +50%) Rosenpur |
7/4(+50%) | (3) Rosenpur 7/4, Fair gelding. Fair fourth of 7 in handicap (7/1) at Hamilton (6f, good) 38 days ago so enters calculations. 4yo who is 0-12 but was a fair 4th last time & is entitled to respect in this modest race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (33/1 +0%) Shades Of May |
33/1(+0%) | (4) Shades Of May 33/1, 66/1, last of 6 in novice at Kempton (7f) on debut 8 days ago. Down in trip with work to do. 4yo who was well beaten at 66-1 on last week's belated debut at Kempton (7f, AW). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (80/1 -142%) Destiny Maker |
80/1(-142%) | (2) Destiny Maker 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, last of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 150/1) 31 days ago. Significantly back down in trip. Blinkered for 1st time. Promise on sole 2yo start but has struggled on his four outings this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/2 -7%) Rebel Star |
15/2(-7%) | (5) Rebel Star 15/2, Intrinsic filly. Half-sister to 5f winner Angle Land. Dam, 6f winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 6f Speed Hawk. Considered newcomer. Half-sister to stable's useful sprinter Angle Land; of interest in this weak race on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The consistent CALL TIME has already shown enough to suggest a race of this nature is within reach and having run enthusiastically when tried here before, he has plenty in his favour. Rosenpur and Destiny Maker have something to prove on bare form and, with that in mind, Robert Cowell's newcomer Rebel Star, a half-sister to the stable's 5f winner Angle Land, could emerge as the chief threat to the selection.
CALL TIME possesses the best form on show so is fancied to get off the mark at the chief expense of fellow maiden Rosenpur, although a market move for newcomer Rebel Star would put a different slant on things.
Having finished runner-up at Ffos Las the last twice, CALL TIME holds leading claims. The newcomer Rebel Star is feared.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (5/1 +50%) Apache Star |
5/1(+50%) | (6) Apache Star 5/1, Course winner. 10/1, below form fifth of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (5f, heavy) 15 days ago, slowly away. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Dual course winner but he's been generally disappointing this season; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (13/2 +7%) Alafdhal |
13/2(+7%) | (2) Alafdhal 13/2, 3 wins from 20 runs this year. 8/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at Pontefract (5f, heavy) 24 days ago. Can give a good account if shrugging off latest effort. Three runner-up efforts this autumn but he needs to bounce back after a poor run last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/2 +44%) Sisters In The Sky |
9/2(+44%) | (5) Sisters In The Sky 9/2, C&D winner in October. 9/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at this course (5.7f, heavy) 10 days ago. Can make presence felt if back on his A-game. Won over C&D on penultimate run and has possibilities if he can get back near that level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/1 -227%) Bama Lama |
9/1(-227%) | (3) Bama Lama 9/1, 3 wins from 15 runs this year, posting a career best when landing 5-runner handicap at Windsor (5.1f, heavy) 17 days ago. Up 2 lb but she's a big player once again. Battled well to win in the mud at Windsor and she's only 2lb higher here; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (28/1 -155%) Apple A Dey |
28/1(-155%) | (8) Apple A Dey 28/1, Below-par third of 5 to Bama Lama in handicap (12/1) at Windsor (5.1f, heavy) 17 days ago, nearest finish. Others have achieved more. Fair third at Windsor but that was behind Bama Lama and she's now 0-7; needs to find more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (4/1 +50%) Gherkin |
4/1(+50%) | (7) Gherkin 4/1, Yet to score this term but he posted a good second of 10 in handicap at Windsor (6f, heavy) 17 days ago. Can go well again off the same mark. Good second on heavy at Windsor latest and he's respected on this drop back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (25/1 -25%) Mary Of Modena |
25/1(-25%) | (4) Mary Of Modena 25/1, Sixth of 7 in handicap (22/1) at Brighton (5.3f, good to soft) 23 days ago. More is needed. On dangerous mark but she's struggled in last five runs and needs a major turnaround. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (18/1 -13%) Storm Venture |
18/1(-13%) | (9) Storm Venture 18/1, Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs and a below-form fourth of 5 in handicap at this C&D (heavy) 10 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. 18-race maiden who was disappointing over C&D last time and others are more convincing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MUMAYAZ was a close third over C&D on his most recent start and, with the talented Jack Doughty retaining the ride, he could be tough to deal with off the same mark. Bama Lama is an obvious threat on the back of a hard-fought success at Windsor, although a 2lb rise puts her in the bracket of needing another personal best. The competitively-weighted Gherkin also rates a player, despite 6f arguably being his optimum trip.
BAMA LAMA is enjoying an excellent 2024 and taken to garner a fourth success raised just 2 lb for her stylish Windsor victory. Gherkin is next on the list on the back of his good second at the same track last time out, with Mumayaz and Sisters In The Sky also worthy of consideration.
The vote goes to BAMA LAMA, who scored in the mud at Windsor last time and is only 2lb higher than for that brave success.

6/1(+57%) | (4) Pop Star 6/1, Latest win at Ayr in July. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f, 17/2) 26 days ago. Looks vulnerable. Won two in a row at Ayr this summer but subsequent form has been patchy. |

9/2(-50%) | (6) Cypriot Diaspora 9/2, 11/2, good second of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (6.1f, heavy) 7 days ago, just failing. Big player off the same mark. Back on song with close second at Nottingham and strong claims if repeating that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/1 -100%) Happy Tears |
7/1(-100%) | (2) Happy Tears 7/1, Career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 4/1) 61 days ago, slowly away. 2 lb nudge no real issue and she should make her presence felt if handling conditions. Lightly raced 3yo who won on AW in August on second run for yard; could have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (5/2 +62%) Beyond Equal |
5/2(+62%) | (7) Beyond Equal 5/2, C&D winner. Thirty-one runs since last win in 2021. 11/1, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 14 days ago. Remains on a workable mark and merits respect. 9yo whose losing sequence goes back to 2021 but he often runs well here & is in good form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (16/1 -14%) Media Guest |
16/1(-14%) | (9) Media Guest 16/1, C&D winner. Two wins from 43 Flat runs, the latest here in July. Blinkered for 1st time, last of 10 in handicap at this course (5f, soft, 4/1) 30 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and would have a chance if on-song. Had a good record at Bath until last time but the ground was heavy and he had new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (7/2 +71%) Sub Thirteen |
7/2(+71%) | (8) Sub Thirteen 7/2, C&D winner. 3 wins from 9 runs this year. Latest win at Leicester in June. 12/1, creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (soft) 30 days ago, never nearer. Needs to raise his game. Three wins between April and June; hasn't kicked on from there but he's not ruled out. |

18/1(-13%) | (1) Connie's Rose 18/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 17 runs this year. Latest win at Chepstow in September. Eighth of 9 in handicap (14/1) at this C&D (heavy) 10 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Two-time course winner but hasn't been at her best here on her last few starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Gina Mangan got the best out of LAND OF MAGIC when she made all to win at Salisbury in mid-September and, having run with credit in three deeper races than this since, there is a lot to like now the filly takes a drop back down in class. Turf maiden Happy Tears is feared nudged up 2lb after winning at Chelmsford when last seen, while Sub Thirteen is noteworthy off just 1lb above his last winning mark.
If in the same form as when going close at Nottingham last week, CYPRIOT DIASPORA will take plenty of stopping off the same mark here. Beyond Equal's losing run continues to mount up but, on the upside, his mark continues to drop and the 9-y-o looks dangerous. Land of Magic and Media Guest are others to consider.
This can go to HAPPY TEARS, who won at Chelmsford on her second stable start and is open to further improvement.

2nd (1) (5/2 -175%) Mintana |
5/2(-175%) | (1) Mintana 5/2, 5/2, career best when winning 5-runner handicap at this course (5f, heavy) 10 days ago, comfortably. Will prove hard to beat under a penalty if in anything like the same form. Easy win here last time; could be flattered by the bare form but respected nevertheless. |

3rd (6) (12/1 +40%) Midnight Flame |
12/1(+40%) | (6) Midnight Flame 12/1, Remains a maiden after 27 Flat runs. 33/1, last of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 19 days ago. Others preferred. 27-race maiden but she's run some good races here and has possibilities. |

11/1(-10%) | (4) Tres Chic 11/1, Fourth of 5 in handicap at Chepstow (7.1f, good to firm, 5/1) 58 days ago. Looks vulnerable for win purposes. Two wins earlier in the season but hasn't been at the same level on her last few runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (14/1 0%) We're Reunited |
14/1(0%) | (8) We're Reunited 14/1, C&D winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. 14/1, sixth of 8 in handicap at this course (5f, good to firm) 46 days ago. Now tried in a visor and will have an each-way chance if responding well to the new headgear. He's on a long losing run but has often gone well here and is not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (80/1 -100%) Repartee |
80/1(-100%) | (9) Repartee 80/1, Twenty-seven runs since last win in 2020. Tongue strap on for 1st time, eighth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 50/1) 33 days ago. Chance if rediscovering old form. Close second at Lingfield (7f, AW) in February but good performances are rare nowadays. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (11/1 +0%) Redshore City |
11/1(+0%) | (10) Redshore City 11/1, One win from 31 Flat runs. 10/3, bit below form third of 8 in handicap at this course (5f, heavy) 21 days ago. No more than an each-way squeak. Ran well when fourth of 15 over C&D last month but no threat the last twice; now 1-31. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (5/1 +17%) Roman Spring |
5/1(+17%) | (7) Roman Spring 5/1, Remains a maiden after 22 Flat runs. 5/1, good third of 10 in handicap at Windsor (6f, heavy) 17 days ago. Will need to find improvement from somewhere if he's to get his head in front here but place possibilities nonetheless. Remains a maiden after 22 starts but ran well at Windsor recently; might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (6/1 +0%) Fai Fai |
6/1(+0%) | (3) Fai Fai 6/1, Good second of 7 in handicap at Brighton (6f, heavy, 10/1) 14 days ago. Each-way chance. Two wins this year and solid soft-ground second at Brighton a fortnight ago; good claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (33/1 -267%) Irrelevant |
33/1(-267%) | (5) Irrelevant 33/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable fifth of 13 in handicap (13/2) at Kempton (7f) 22 days ago. Likely to find a few too good once more. A couple of fair runs on AW since joining this yard but the return to turf may be a minus. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MINTANA won in fine style when dropped back to 5f here 10 days ago, benefitting from positive tactics, and the four-year-old, who is 2lb well-in under a 5lb penalty, makes plenty of appeal in her attempt to back that performance up. Fai Fai returned to turf with a solid effort to finish runner-up at Brighton and has to enter calculations, while others capable of being in the mix include Roman Spring and Tres Chic.
On the back of a thoroughly decisive success here 10 days ago, MINTANA, who is officially 2 lb well-in under a penalty, is likely to prove a very tough nut to crack. Fai Fai gets the nod ahead of We're Reunited and Roman Spring for forecast purposes.
Preference is for FAI FAI, who was a good second at Brighton (6f, soft) a fortnight ago and knows how to win.

1st (2) (12/1 -20%) Premier |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Premier 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Ninth of 12 in novice at Kempton (8f, 40/1) 20 days ago, left poorly placed. Improvement needed now pitched into a nursery. Yet to threaten but he's on a fair opening mark and is not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (4/1 +0%) Bownder |
4/1(+0%) | (4) Bownder 4/1, Career best when winning 10-runner nursery at Southwell (8.1f, 11/4) 32 days ago. More needed up 5 lb with conditions something of an unknown (unraced on ground slower than good). In good form in 1m nurseries in recent month; player if the slow ground isn't an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/4 +21%) Glenridding |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Glenridding 11/4, Lightly-raced winner. Successful at Yarmouth in September. 6/4, creditable third of 9 in nursery at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 26 days ago. Should have a part to play. Has done well since moving into nurseries and pedigree provides hope regarding slow ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (14/1 -100%) Mister Knockout |
14/1(-100%) | (7) Mister Knockout 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Good third of 12 in nursery at Kempton (7f, 4/1) 45 days ago. Should be in the mix off the same mark here, provided he goes on the ground. Kept on galloping for third on nursery debut (7f, AW); could be in the mix now at 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6/4 +25%) Tap Dancer |
6/4(+25%) | (1) Tap Dancer 6/4, Lightly-raced winner. 11/4, career best when winning 5-runner novice at this course (10.2f, heavy) 21 days ago, keeping on well. Back down in trip for this nursery debut and a major player. Easily won 5-runner novice here (1m2f, heavy) latest; firmly in thoughts on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (15/2 +32%) Thiscouldbefun |
15/2(+32%) | (6) Thiscouldbefun 15/2, 25/1, creditable third of 11 in nursery at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 6 days ago. Looks vulnerable from a win point of view. Placed in two 7f nurseries and the return to 1m could be a positive move. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Bownder has been a model of consistency in nursery company and arrives following a victory at Southwell. There is a question mark with regards to conditions because he has only raced on a sound surface so the vote goes to TAP DANCER. The daughter of Territories boasts the advantage of a heavy-ground win here over 1m2f earlier in the month and, with stamina assured, she may prove a tough nut to crack. Glenridding completes the shortlist.
This drop back in trip won't be an issue for TAP DANCER, who opened her account in good style over 10.2f here three weeks ago and makes her nursery debut off what looks a workable mark. Glenridding is likely to emerge as the main danger, with Mister Knockout feared most among the others.
Having shown improved form since moving into nurseries, GLENRIDDING is taken to add to last month's win at Yarmouth.

Creditable third of 11 in handicap at Windsor (8.1f, heavy, 9/2) 17 days ago, clear of rest. Enters calculations. 3-5 at Bath (including two wins this autumn) and holds strong claims now back here. |

28/1(-133%) | (8) Clyde Bay 28/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, respectable sixth of 11 in handicap (9/2) at Kempton (6f) 15 days ago, unable to sustain effort. 50/1(-79%) | (3) First Greyed 50/1, 8/1, below form seventh of 14 in handicap at Ayr (8f, heavy), finding test too much. Off 12 months and probably worth taking on starting out for new yard here. On a handy mark on last season's best form but hefty absence to defy on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (20/1 -122%) King Of The Dance |

Off 6 months ahead of this debut for new yard and sizeable step forward needed now handicapping Improvement needed on h'cap debut but new trainer's horses are running well; not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Ciotog impressed when scoring with plenty in hand over track and trip last week and another bold showing is anticipated under a 5lb penalty. That said, ALBUS ANNE edges preference. She brought up a C&D double before being thwarted in her hat-trick bid when finishing third at Windsor earlier this month. Nudged up 2lb back at this track, she looks the one to be with. Clyde Bay is also noteworthy.
CIOTOG did the job well over this C&D recently and he has a strong chance of going in again under a penalty. The one most likely to serve up a serious challenge is the in-form Albus Anne, while Darvel and King of The Dance both make each-way appeal.
The mare ALBUS ANNE (nap) made it 3-5 at Bath with two C&D wins this autumn and she was a good third at Windsor most recently.

25/1(-79%) | (10) Mighty Quiet 25/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Ninth of 11 in novice (66/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 76 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time for this handicap debut and she's one to note in the betting. Yet to build upon her encouraging debut run but goes handicapping off a modest mark. |

5/1(+17%) | (13) Meet Me In Meraki 5/1, Course winner. Latest win at Chepstow in July. 7/2, good second of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, soft) 16 days ago, clear of rest. Looks competitive on form. Course winner who came well clear with the winner when runner-up at Yarmouth recently. |

Cheekpieces on 1st time and she should have a part to play if the headgear has the desired effect. Lightly raced 3yo; perhaps cheekpieces will unlock some of the potential in her pedigree. |

4th (7) (15/2 -25%) Golden Phase |
15/2(-25%) | (7) Golden Phase 15/2, C&D winner. Latest win here in June. Respectable third of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW, 7/2) 50 days ago, left with lot to do. Not taken lightly. Needs to improve upon last couple of runs but has to be of interest given fine record here. |

5th (6) (9/2 +0%) Sonnet Star |
9/2(+0%) | (6) Sonnet Star 9/2, Career best when winning 13-runner handicap at this C&D (soft, 7/2) 30 days ago, kept up to work. 5 lb rise fair enough and she has to be feared. Off the mark at the 11th attempt when scoring over C&D; could play another leading role. |

9th (3) (12/1 -9%) Rose Branch |
12/1(-9%) | (3) Rose Branch 12/1, Winner at Hamilton in June. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, sixth of 9 in handicap (11/1) at Sandown (10f, good) 43 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Visor on 1st time and should make her presence felt. Below par at Sandown last month but enjoyed a pretty good summer and may bounce back. |

40/1(-100%) | (1) Local Bay 40/1, Course winner. 4 wins from 14 runs this year, the latest at Brighton in August. 66/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 12 days ago. Others make more appeal. Four wins this year (two here) but has gone off the boil more recently; unproven at 1m2f. |

12th (5) (20/1 +9%) Landlordtothestars |
20/1(+9%) | (5) Landlordtothestars 20/1, 16/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 58 days ago. Up in trip and he's likely to find a few too good once more. Good second at Lingfield in June but two lesser runs have followed; untested at this trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SONNET STAR showed a likeable attitude when scoring over C&D and, with forecast ground conditions to suit, the suspicion is that a 5lb rise may not be enough to anchor her. This step back in trip could see an improved display from Golden Phase and she might be the main danger to the selection off just 4lb higher than her last winning mark. Recent Yarmouth runner-up Meet Me In Meraki looks the pick of the remainder.
Several to consider in this competitive handicap, with BELLA VENETA shading preference. She was badly hampered at a crucial stage before finishing third off 1 lb higher over a mile here last time and promises to be suited by this stiffer test. Meet Me In Meraki lost little caste in defeat at Yarmouth recently and he is second choice ahead of Golden Phase, Sonnet Star and Zambezi Magic.
Preference is for GOLDEN PHASE whose excellent record here is an enticing factor. Cheekpieces could be a plus for Muqinah.
Ths is the racecard key.
