16:30 Ballinrobe Maiden Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The form of SILVER KING's fourth and third in a pair of maiden hurdles at Punchestown in November has been well endorsed. He is entitled to be sharper for a comeback seventh in a bumper at Cork this month. Quarry Rocco has a chance. The rain on Sunday should aid his cause as he is probably one for winter ground. This former point-to-point winner kept on for fourth in a maiden hurdle on soft ground at the Galway Festival and was well clear of the remainder. On The Tide made a promising return to action when third at Kilbeggan. He had previously shown ability when runner-up in a bumper at Tipperary in May last year. Quarry Rocco's stablemate, Casey West, has been off a long time but showed decent form for his former trainer.

Despite being sent off at unflattering odds having displayed little in a bumper, QUARRY ROCCO offered plenty to work on when fourth on hurdles debut 3 weeks ago. This trip should unlock more so he gets the tentative vote in an open race. Silver King is dangerous id reacting positively to cheekpieces, with Edge of My Seat also considered.

From a yard in fine form, QUARRY ROOCO ran a lovely race on hurdles bow in a good maiden at Galway and is preferred to \bSilver King/p

LTO Selection:

17:05 Ballinrobe Handicap Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The admirable CHARLIE LUCIANO could go in again after a break since mid-July. Noel Meade's charge proved tough to pass when winning at Downpatrick and Bellewstown over the summer before filling the runner-up berth in another Downpatrick contest. Neil Ryan takes 7lb off his back and that could be important as Charlie Luciano is closely matched with Gordon Elliott's Samui who sandwiched a victory in Tramore with runner-up spots at Tipperary and Galway. Luminous Light won a maiden hurdle at Cork in April and holds third-placed Calico on that run. He has been placed in a couple of Flat races since then and has plenty to offer.

Gordon Elliot's SAMUI looks on a good mark for this handicap debut and can strike under Jack Kennedy. Luminous Light has run 2 crackers on the Flat since his Cork maiden hurdle success and is second choice ahead of the selection's stablemate Jay Jay Zee.

A decent handicap but SAMUI (nap) could be better than this level and he can boost the form of Mystical Power's Galway race.

LTO Selection:

17:35 Ballinrobe Maiden Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STRAIGHT HOME created a good impression with a decisive victory in a bumper at Cork in April and is one to take very seriously on hurdling debut. She graduated to the track with aplomb after landing a point-to-point in February. Hurricane Honey kept on for fourth in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle this month and the step up in trip looks ideal on the back of that run. Sleep Sound has posted a third over hurdles at Kilbeggan and a fourth in a bumper at Sligo over the summer. Maiden hurdle winners have come out of that Kilbeggan contest. Hats Off Six Pence ran well for a long way before dropping to sixth on hurdle debut at Cork. Reserve Amazing Amy finished second in a handicap hurdle at Killarney on Saturday which would bring her into contention if getting a run.

Point winner STRAIGHT HOME looked potentially useful when landing a Cork bumper on her Rules debut in the spring and is taken to follow up now switched to hurdles on her return. Gordon Elliott's Hurricane Honey is second choice ahead of Sleep Sound.

The 6yo STRAIGHT HOME posted a decent RPR in winning her bumper at Cork and going up in trip for her hurdling debut is an obvious move.

18:05 Ballinrobe Handicap Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

RANGER BILLY is a consistent sort who could grab his second career success. His sole victory came over an extended 3m at Kilbeggan in June, and since then he has been placed twice in Limerick and Tramore. Richard Condon's 5lb claim has him on a handy mark. Storm Mahler returns off a break since April and has to be respected. He was in good form in March and April with a victory at Cork and two placed efforts as well. That's About Right didn't run badly in fourth in his first handicap hurdle at Limerick last month and could have more to offer. Walk In Time wasn't at her best when a beaten favourite in fourth at Killarney on Saturday and would have questions to answer if reappearing.

The one who appeals most is STORM MAHLER, who looked progressive during the spring and the form of his latest effort when third of 16 at Cork represents solid form in the context of this race. Ranger Billy has been in good form in recent months and looks sure to be thereabouts once more, while That's About Right stepped up on his maiden efforts when fourth on in a Limerick handicap and will also be a threat if able to build on that.

Top of the list is RANGER BILLY whose consistency ticks a big box and his latest effort at Tramore can be upgraded.

18:35 Ballinrobe Handicap Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TULLYHOGUE FORT is a likeable stayer at this level and was a hurdles winner over 3m at last year's Listowel festival. He almost gained a second chase success at Roscommon earlier this month so comes into this in good shape. Glenmalure Lodge has been runner-up on five of her last six visits to Ballinrobe and heads west again for another attempt to gain an elusive victory. Her trainer could not be in better form. Sarah's Soldier stepped up on previous form when third in first-time blinkers here last month and that was in a slightly higher grade. She merits consideration along with Rewrite The Script who got a 5lb hike for running well in a maiden at the last meeting here.

TULLYHOGUE FORT has been in excellent form over fences and he's equally effective over hurdles, so he gets the nod returning to this sphere. Glenmalure is a big danger and Sarah's Soldier is worthy of considering following a good second here a month ago.

This is tricky. TULLYHOGUE FORT won't mind what the weather does and returns to hurdling off a fair mark after a near miss over fences.

19:05 Ballinrobe Conditions Chase 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This looks a good spot for VISIONARIAN who was a creditable fifth in the Galway Plate last time. He didn't quite get home over 2m6f on that occasion but is a pacey sort who was placed at Grade 1 novice contests at Leopardstown and Aintree last season and dropping back to this trip around a sharp circuit will be no bother to him. The selection has to concede 10lb to Mt Leinster who is best in at the weights and performed well in valuable handicaps over this trip last year. His jumping has let him down on his last couple of starts over fences and he'll need to be sharper in that department around here. The Little Yank was well beaten at Killarney on Saturday but can contend for minor honours along with Effernock Fizz who wasn't far off Mt Leinster on the Flat at Galway.

This drop back in trip will help VISIONARIAN, who performed with credit in the Galway Plate last time, despite finding the 22.5f trip too stiff a test. He is an appealing alternative to likely favourite Mt Leinster, for all that, strictly speaking, he isn't entitled to beat that rival on these terms. Mt Leinster will be a big threat granted a clean round of jumping, while Effernock Fizz could give the aforementioned duo something to think about if allowed an easy lead.

The weights favour Mt Leinster to the tune of 8lb, but the Galway Plate fifth VISIONARIAN may be able to cope.

19:35 Ballinrobe Maiden Chase 23f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Having been with Joseph O'Brien and Gordon Elliott, SLIGE DALA is now under the care of Pat Foley and caught the eye when staying on well to be fifth over hurdles here earlier this month. Although his most recent chasing efforts have been poor, the bumper and hurdles winner did show ability in his first couple of starts in this discipline and a pair of cheekpieces might sharpen him up. Junior Rattler, second over hurdles at Sligo last time, was narrowly beaten on his most recent start over fences at Kilbeggan and has been giving the impression that this step up in trip will suit well. Takarengo, who twice ran well at Galway, is anything but a fluent jumper of hurdles but has been placed in three of his four outings over fences. He's a quirky sort but should be coming home well over this distance.

TAKARENGO can strike back chasing, with this longer trip sure to suit. Tempo Chapter Two and Bella Bliss are also on the shortlist.

A trappy chase with no outstanding contender. MISTY'S GIFT had some flashes of good form over hurdles despite his maiden status.

BABY KATE is the latest interesting bumper newcomer to roll off the Mullins conveyor belt and the daughter of Champs Elysees is likely to take plenty of beating. She's out of Augusta Kate who was unbeaten in three bumpers before going on to do well in staying hurdles and her grandam Feathard Lady was unbeaten in both bumpers before winning a Grade 1 over hurdles. Lady Masquerade made a pleasing debut when third in a maiden hurdle at Limerick last month. She's from a good family herself and has every chance of again being in the money. Smiling Bess is out of a smart dual-purpose mare and attracted market support when a promising third at Roscommon earlier this month.

BABY KATE represents a top yard and is out of a bumper winner, so she's a straightforward to make a successful start at the likely expense of Lady Masquerade who shaped with encouragement when third in a novice hurdle at Limerick last month. Smiling Bess is also considered.

The eyes are naturally drawn to BABY KATE, who looks the part on paper for the all-conquering Mullins team.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
