12:47 Ayr Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CAMP BELAN conceded plenty of weight to runner-up Heritier De Sivola when victorious over this C&D last season and could well stage a repeat despite running off 8lb higher. His old rival did manage to narrowly turn things around when they subsequently clashed at Hexham in March and he's dangerous to underestimate. However, fellow course winner Destiny Is All may pose a bigger threat running off 3lb below his last winning mark.

The most interesting one here could well be HOSTILE HOTELIER. A dual winner over hurdles, this step back up in trip returned to chasing could well unlock further progress and, with the tongue refitted, he could be the way to go for the in-form Jennie Candlish stable. Camp Belan ended last term in good form and is feared, along with stablemate Destiny Is All.

Camp Belan is tempting but a chance is taken on EVERYDAY CHAMPAGNE who can be forgiven his most recent effort.

13:17 Ayr Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

COUNTRY MILE emerged an impressive winner of a bumper at Huntingdon on his debut under Rules in April and is sure to be primed to perfection running for a high profile yard on his hurdles debut. Young Getaway and Holly Bird have also shown some promise in bumpers and warrant close inspection in the betting. Point-to-point recruits Walking On A Dream and Gone With The Tide add further spice to the race.

Dan Skelton bumper winner COUNTRY MILE will probably be a tough nut to crack. Point-recruits Walking On A Dream and Scarlet Jet may provide the chief threat before any betting clues are known.

It's hard to get away from COUNTRY MILE, who won what has turned out to be a fairly good Huntingdon bumper pretty stylishly in April.

13:47 Ayr Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NOT IN KANSAS goes well fresh and, having created a deep impression when wining a conditional riders' race at Perth under Bruce Lynn back in May, the daughter of Gentlewave could be tough to deal with on her return from a break. Fellow last-time-out winners Magical Arthur and Topkapi Star also command respect, while the hat-trick seeking Hapy La Vie is still on an upward trajectory and is interesting back over timber.

MAGICAL ARTHUR likely has even more to offer over staying trips and can make light of a 5 lb rise for Hexham. Dan Skelton's What A Flirth shaped better when stepped up to 3m at Southwell last time and is second choice ahead of the hat-trick seeking Not In Kansas, who is returning from a break.

Having displayed major improvement to win twice over 2m4f in the spring, NOT IN KANSAS might kick on again on this first 3m attempt.

14:20 Ayr Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CALDWELL has been very reliable in all disciplines from the summer onwards and made a successful beginning to his chasing career at Hexham. Back over the smaller obstacles, he is just 1lb higher, with the extra half-mile fancied to bring him forward even further. Rickety Gate showed the benefit of a break when justifying favouritism at Kelso and looks dangerous. Grass's Jet was well fancied on his debut for this yard at Bangor and although disappointing, it is too soon to give up on him.

This is wide open so at the likely odds it is worth siding with BATHGATE to build on earlier promise and gain a breakthrough victory off a reduced mark. Caldwell scored in good style over fences at Hexham last time and could emerge as the chief threat reverted to hurdles, although Rickety Gate, Pateen and Adveram all need considering too.

Rickety Gate is second choice but CALDWELL (nap) makes appeal having been a ready winner on soft ground on his recent chase debut.

14:55 Ayr Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bridge Road has been edging closer to the winner's enclosure, although his strike-rate is moderate and a 1lb rise for his Uttoxeter second does him no favours. Love That and March Wind ran respectably on the same Perth card back in May, while Celestial Fashion's best form puts her in with a shout, but a chance is taken on ENTITY OF SUBSTANZ. Dan Skelton's five-year-old is related to some smart performers and an initial mark of 96 is there to be exploited.

There could be plenty more to come from ENTITY OF SUBSTANZ now he goes handicapping and he makes the most appeal. Bridge Road has been running well from his reduced mark and has to be respected, while Ballyquin Bay could find a race near to hand.

The pick is ENTITY OF SUBSTANZ, who did not live up to his pedigree in his qualifying races but can improve in handicaps.

(2) Home Free 10/11, Scored over hurdles in 2m heavy-ground novice at Lingfield in March and made an encouraging start over fences when second at Hexham in May. Went one better on returning from 5 months off (had wind op and tongue tied) at Uttoxeter recently and appeals as one who can rack up a sequence.
Won cosily by a neck at Uttoxeter this month and remains unexposed over fences.

(5) Rattling Road 7/1, Won an Irish point in April 2022. Progressed on his first 3 outings over hurdles earlier this year but proved somewhat disappointing, especially as the longer trip was expected to suit when well held at Perth (20.2f, soft) 6 months ago. 15:28 Ayr Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A winner at Uttoxeter on his seasonal return recently, there should be more to come from HOME FREE and Dan Skelton's gelding is taken to defy a 4lb rise in the handicap en route to further success. An ease in grade will do no harm to the chances of Carcaci Castle, who looks the main danger, while Travail D'Orfevre, an admirably consistent type over fences, could have a say too.

HOME FREE opened his chase account a shade cosily at Uttoxeter earlier this month and, appealing as one who can rack up a sequence, Dan Skelton's 6-y-o is fancied to go in again at the expense of the ultra-consistent Travail d'Orfevre, who won on reappearance last season and hit the crossbar on 5 of his 6 subsequent starts. Carcaci Castle can edge out stable-switcher Captain Ivan for third.

There is more to come from lightly raced 6yo HOME FREE, who was always doing enough to hold on at Uttoxeter three weeks ago.

16:03 Ayr NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Olly Murphy has an excellent record in these types of contests so Dinofromberlais, who showed only moderate form in the pointing sphere, could well step forward on this Rules debut. However, the vote goes to DALSTON LAD. The Ocovango gelding fetched 115,000 euros at the sales in May and the half-brother to useful performer Gone Platinum looks sure to go well at the first time of asking under Rules. Stride On is another to consider.

The pair with previous form don't set a tall standard so this could go to a newcomer in the shape of DALSTON LAD. Successful on his only start in points, he appeals on paper now starting out for the Skelton team and it would come as no surprise to see him firmly in the mix. Bespoke Tailor, a promising second at Perth back in the spring, and another Rules newcomer Dinofromberlais head up the dangers in the finale.

Bespoke Tailor isn't passed over lightly but preference is for Irish point winner DALSTON LAD on debut for Dan Skelton.
