1st (6) (5/2 +0%) Inappropriate |
5/2(+0%) | (6) Inappropriate 5/2, Earned reward for some placed efforts this year when taking a 1¼m Beverley handicap (good to firm) 22 days ago. Respected up 4 lb. Off the mark with a comfortable Beverley win last month; big chance despite the 4lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (8/1 -14%) Up The Jazz |
8/1(-14%) | (4) Up The Jazz 8/1, Latest win over 1¼m at Ripon in June. Good third of 10 in handicap (9/1) at Redcar (1¼m, good to soft) 15 days ago. 1m2f win at Ripon in June; good 3rd off this mark latest; down in class with e-w claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (18/1 +10%) Tilsitt |
18/1(+10%) | (10) Tilsitt 18/1, C&D winner. Twenty nine runs since last win in 2022. 4¼ lengths eighth of 10 to Can't Stop Now in C&D handicap (good) 9 days ago. Conditions no problem but on a losing run and behind a few of these here last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (17/2 +23%) Savrola |
17/2(+23%) | (3) Savrola 17/2, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Creditable 1¾ lengths fifth of 10 to Can't Stop Now over C&D (good) 9 days ago, finishing with running left after meeting trouble. Fifth behind Can't Stop Now here last week but met lots of trouble; solid contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (11/2 -38%) Susiesparkle |
11/2(-38%) | (11) Susiesparkle 11/2, Winner at Thirsk in September. 3/1, good second of 6 in handicap at Haydock (10.5f, heavy) 13 days ago. Can make presence felt. Clicked for current yard and travels like a filly who should be ahead of her mark; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (11/2 +15%) Eeetee |
11/2(+15%) | (2) Eeetee 11/2, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 5/1, respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at Redcar (1¼m, good to soft) 15 days ago. Shortlist material. Not the force of old but several good runs for current stable; others stronger for the win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (16/1 -100%) Jewel Maker |
16/1(-100%) | (9) Jewel Maker 16/1, Creditable ¾-length fourth of 10 to Can't Stop Now over C&D (good) 9 days ago. This consistent veteran should be in the shake up again. Veteran who is in top form & was close up in 4th behind Can't Stop Now over C&D last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (25/1 -25%) Ayr Poet |
25/1(-25%) | (12) Ayr Poet 25/1, 5-time course winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 28/1, not seen to best effect (denied a run 2f out) when tenth of 13 here (1m, good to firm) 21 days ago. Back up in trip. Looks competitive on form. Mixed bag this year and needs a full revival to take this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (14/1 +30%) Peace Walk |
14/1(+30%) | (7) Peace Walk 14/1, Blinkered first time, fifth of 6 in handicap (10/1) at Chester (14.5f, heavy) 27 days ago. Significantly down in trip. 2yo promise seems a long time ago but down in trip & class so a revival is not impossible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (28/1 -133%) Melinda |
28/1(-133%) | (8) Melinda 28/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 33/1, fourth of 14 in maiden at Carlisle (11f, good to soft) 29 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Open to improvement. Switch to handicap level, shorter trip and better ground could all spark improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (66/1 -164%) The Nu Form Way |
66/1(-164%) | (5) The Nu Form Way 66/1, Winner at Beverley and Chester in the spring. 5¾ lengths eighth of 10 to Inappropriate in handicap (80/1) at Beverley (1¼m, good to firm) 22 days ago. Yet to fire after a long absence but down in weights and worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (8/1 0%) Can't Stop Now |
8/1(0%) | (1) Can't Stop Now 8/1, Second C&D win in last 3 starts when seeing off 9 rivals last week. It was a tight finish so isn't obviously well treated under a 4 lb penalty. Won two of her last three, both over C&D; scrambled home latest but this is a weaker race. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Can't Stop Now got up in the dying strides to score over C&D nine days ago and has to be respected under a 4lb penalty. However, a chance can be taken on UP THE JAZZ, who made the frame in a warmer contest than this at Redcar last month and might be able to capitalise off an unchanged mark. Inappropriate completes the shortlist.
SUSIESPARKLE has been in fine form since joining Iain Jardine and might be able to gain compensation for near misses on her last 2 outings. Inappropriate rates an obvious danger after coming good at Beverley last time. Eeetee and handicap newcomer Melinda complete the shortlist.
Savrola and Susiesparkle are high on the list but the 3yo INAPPROPRIATE (nap) looks the one to beat.

1st (5) (3/1 +14%) Last Galileo |
3/1(+14%) | (5) Last Galileo 3/1, 13/8, showed promise when second of 6 in novice at Redcar (7f, good) on debut 15 days ago, no match for winner who raced alone on far rail. Should progress. Couldn't justify favouritism on debut but ran okay in the circumstances; 1m should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (8/11 +100%) Hornsea Bay |
8/11(+100%) | (1) Hornsea Bay 8/11, 5/1, looked a good prospect when winning 11-runner novice at this C&D (good to firm) on debut 3 weeks ago by 3 lengths from reopposing Bambalam. Carries a penalty and looks sure to progress and win more races. Created a hugely positive impression over C&D on debut three weeks ago; hard to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/3 -48%) Bambalam |
10/3(-48%) | (2) Bambalam 10/3, 10/11, confirmed debut promise given a much more positive ride when 3 lengths second of 11 to reopposing Hornsea Bay in novice at this C&D (good to firm) 3 weeks ago. Remains with potential. Promise on debut and again over C&D three weeks ago, albeit no match for Hornsea Bay. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (100/1 -400%) Gaelic Gladiator |
100/1(-400%) | (4) Gaelic Gladiator 100/1, 12/1, fourth of 7 in maiden at Hamilton (8.3f, good) on debut 18 days ago, not knocked about. Will likely be of most interest when handicapping. Last month's Hamilton debut wasn't without hope but others have achieved more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 -108%) Ridgemaster |
25/1(-108%) | (6) Ridgemaster 25/1, Foaled February 4. €23,000 foal, €30,000 yearling, Mastercraftsman colt. Half-brother to 5f winner Doctor Mozart and winner up to 1m Catch Me. Dam, South African 2-y-o 5f winner, half-sister to smart South African sprinter Generalissimo. 30,000euros half-brother to two winners out of a 5f winner; betting to guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (250/1 -150%) Uncle Liam |
250/1(-150%) | (7) Uncle Liam 250/1, 100/1, went with little immediate promise when 23 lengths tenth of 11 to Hornsea Bay in novice at this C&D (good to firm) on debut 3 weeks ago. 100-1 and always in rear when finishing 23l behind Hornsea Bay over C&D three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (250/1 -150%) Finding Time |
250/1(-150%) | (3) Finding Time 250/1, 16/1, tailed-off last of 7 in maiden at Hamilton (8.3f, good) on debut 18 days ago, very slowly away. Last of seven on last month's Hamilton debut; hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
It was hard not to be impressed by HORNSEA BAY's debut victory over track and trip last month and he has plenty of scope for improvement. If the son of New Bay can take a step forward, he could prove tough to beat despite carrying a penalty. Last Galileo is the obvious danger after finishing second on his debut at Redcar, while newcomer Ridgemaster is another to note.
HORNSEA BAY looked a good prospect when making a winning debut over C&D 3 weeks ago and under a penalty, David O'Meara's colt can confirm his superiority over Bambalam, who was given a much more positive ride that day and duly left his debut effort behind. Last Galileo should come on for his second at Redcar recently, so he rounds off the shortlist.
Having produced a sparkling display on his debut, HORNSEA BAY can confirm his superiority over Bambalam.

1st (4) (5/1 +58%) Darbucks |
5/1(+58%) | (4) Darbucks 5/1, Twenty three runs since last win in 2022. Seventh of 11 in handicap (18/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 10 days ago. Others are preferred. Yet to run a poor race at Ayr; first past the post in this race last year; rain would help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/4 -10%) Alpine Sierra |
11/4(-10%) | (1) Alpine Sierra 11/4, C&D winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Creditable fourth of 9 in handicap over C&D (good, 11/4) 9 days ago. Shortlist material. Yet to win this year but on a dangerous mark and conditions should be fine; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (13/2 -18%) Golden Valour |
13/2(-18%) | (7) Golden Valour 13/2, Course winner. 20/1, creditable second of 9 over C&D (good) 9 days ago and thereabouts again if showing up in similar form. 1m win here in May and second over C&D last week; should be in the shake up again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (25/1 -150%) Havana Rose |
25/1(-150%) | (5) Havana Rose 25/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 50/1, sixth of 9 over C&D (good) 9 days ago. Not easy to make a case for. Gone the wrong way for this yard but last week's close 6th over C&D was more encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/2 +53%) Jkr Cobbler |
7/2(+53%) | (2) Jkr Cobbler 7/2, Three-time C&D winner. Respectable seventh of 13 in over C&D (good to firm, 18/1) 21 days ago, never nearer. Can make presence felt. Carlisle win in May (7f, good to soft) and some fair runs since; strong pace would suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (66/1 -313%) Ana Emaraaty |
66/1(-313%) | (8) Ana Emaraaty 66/1, Won a Newcastle classified event in March but out of sorts on AW when last seen later in the spring. 1m AW win in March came at a low level; absent six months; others look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (4/1 -60%) Lumenbourg |
4/1(-60%) | (6) Lumenbourg 4/1, Winner at Doncaster (7f) in August. Creditable second of 15 in handicap (16/1) at Redcar (7f, good) 15 days ago. Boasts a positive profile and should go well again. Improved for a visor; latest second of 15 represented further progress; leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (11/1 -10%) Mighty Power |
11/1(-10%) | (3) Mighty Power 11/1, 25/1, last of 12 in handicap at Carlisle (1m, good to soft) 29 days ago but had been in reasonable form prior to that. Much lower mark on turf and there has been promise this year; excuses latest; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (66/1 -371%) Bernie The Bear |
66/1(-371%) | (9) Bernie The Bear 66/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Below form eleventh of 18 in classified event at Thirsk (6f, good to firm, 11/1), unable to sustain effort. Off 108 days. Back up in trip. Needs to bounce back from two low-key runs and he's still seeking his first win on turf. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Golden Valour had Alpine Sierra (fourth) behind when he occupied the runner-up berth over C&D recently and it would be no surprise to see him confirm that form. However, LUMENBOURG looks the way to go. Julie Camacho's three-year-old produced a pleasing effort when hitting the crossbar in this grade at Redcar on his most recent start and a repeat of that effort might be good enough.
LUMENBOURG is a 3-y-o heading in the right direction and can prove too strong for Alpine Sierra and C&D specialist Jkr Cobbler.
Mighty Power is capable of a big run off his lowly turf mark but LUMENBOURG beat him at Doncaster and may do so again.

11/1(-29%) | (7) Rousing Encore 11/1, Good second of 9 in C&D handicap (good, 13/2) 9 days ago. Needs considering from an unchanged mark. Three good runs for Ruth Carr, the latest over C&D last week; contender off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/2 +0%) Abduction |
9/2(+0%) | (6) Abduction 9/2, Course winner. Creditable second of 6 in handicap (5/2) at this course (7f, good) 9 days ago. 2nd in this race last year off 7lb higher; good 2nd here last week (7f); should run well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 +40%) Rock Opera |
9/2(+40%) | (4) Rock Opera 9/2, Latest win at Doncaster in June. Below form tenth of 22 in Silver Cup over C&D (good to firm) 19 days ago. Can make more of an impact here. Not at best the last twice but in stronger races; handy mark; wouldn't want rain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (4/1 +20%) Mythical Phoenix |
4/1(+20%) | (1) Mythical Phoenix 4/1, Bit below form fifth of 9 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm, 9/2) 33 days ago but had been running well prior to that. Not the type to stay down for long. Banging the door down for this yard and conditions will be fine; looks sure to go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (20/1 -67%) Diamondonthehill |
20/1(-67%) | (3) Diamondonthehill 20/1, 40/1, eleventh of 14 in handicap at this course (1m, good to firm) 19 days ago. Down in trip. Cheekpieces back on. On feasible mark but this is a rare 6f run and others may prove sharper; cheekpieces back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (17/2 -55%) Hour By Hour |
17/2(-55%) | (9) Hour By Hour 17/2, On a hat-trick after pair of 6f wins at Hamilton last month. A 5 lb penalty doesn't look enough to stop him. Chasing a hat-trick after two Hamilton wins; penalised against stronger opposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (11/2 +21%) Almarada Prince |
11/2(+21%) | (2) Almarada Prince 11/2, 12/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Needs to get back to the form he showed when runner-up at York in June. Yet to win this year but retains plenty of ability and this is a marked drop in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (22/1 -159%) Mattice |
22/1(-159%) | (11) Mattice 22/1, 9/2, caught wide when fifth of 9 in handicap at Ripon (5f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Came good last autumn and is handicapped to strike again. Handicapped to win but perhaps over 5f and in a lower grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (33/1 -136%) Be Proud |
33/1(-136%) | (8) Be Proud 33/1, C&D winner, including this race 12 months ago. Recent efforts below par but has dipped to 1 lb below the mark he defied last year. No shock were he to bounce back to form with a bang. On a winning mark and should make a bold bid to repeat his 2023 win in this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (50/1 -257%) Iris Dancer |
50/1(-257%) | (10) Iris Dancer 50/1, Latest win at Carlisle in July. Seventh of 10 in handicap (5/1) at Hamilton (6f, good) 18 days ago. Back on a good mark but need to see more. Form dipped on last three starts; dangerous mark but others look more persuasive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (11/2 +45%) The Caltonian |
11/2(+45%) | (5) The Caltonian 11/2, 8/1, respectable third of 11 in handicap at this course (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Tudhope a good jockey booking. Yet to win on turf but he's run some good races here this year and 6f looks his best trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Hour By Hour impressed when scoring comfortably over this trip at Hamilton last month and he must enter calculations. That said, preference is for the consistent MYTHICAL PHOENIX. He has built up enough credit to suggest he is well worth another chance following his latest fifth at Thirsk and, eased 1lb in the weights, he looks the one to be with. Abduction is also noteworthy.
HOUR BY HOUR did it convincingly at Hamilton last week so a 5 lb penalty doesn't look enough to prevent him going in again. The well-treated Mattice is feared most ahead of Rousing Encore and Abduction.
Plenty of possibles but the class-dropping ALMARADA PRINCE could be the answer. Mythical Phoenix is feared most.

1st (9) (10/1 +38%) Graecia |
10/1(+38%) | (9) Graecia 10/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 20/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (8f, heavy) 3 days ago, ridden over 2f out and weakening. Worth noting if the market speaks in her favour turned out quickly. Low-key run at Pontefract on Monday; drops in trip with a good apprentice booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (7/1 +13%) Cancan In The Rain |
7/1(+13%) | (7) Cancan In The Rain 7/1, Afforded a chance by the handicapper and encouraging efforts of late, second of 8 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 11 days ago, no match for winner. Not had many goes at 7f and he's worth considering back on turf. Good 2nd to a handicap blot at Southwell 11 days ago; 3lb well in; not sure to back it up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (14/1 -40%) Novak |
14/1(-40%) | (11) Novak 14/1, C&D winner. Twenty two runs since last win in 2023. 13/2, creditable fifth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good) 9 days ago, no extra final 100 yds. Clearly lurking on a handy mark but his losing run does temper enthusiasm. Unplaced in Class 6 events over C&D the last twice; needs to raise his game to win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (13) (11/2 +39%) John L Sullivan |
11/2(+39%) | (13) John L Sullivan 11/2, Winner at Wetherby in June. Creditable third of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good, 5/1) 9 days ago, losing second dying strides. Can give a good account again kept to this trip. 1m win at Wetherby in June and he was an eyecatching 3rd over C&D last week; on good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (17/2 +29%) Prairie Falcon |
17/2(+29%) | (5) Prairie Falcon 17/2, Course winner. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, below form 6½ lengths sixth of 11 to Jenni in handicap (7/1) at this C&D (good to firm) 19 days ago, keeping on without landing a blow off a steady gallop. Still, he remains a difficult sort to win with. On a losing run and he hasn't built on his promising seasonal reappearance; yard run three. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (9/1 +25%) Abruzzo Mia |
9/1(+25%) | (1) Abruzzo Mia 9/1, Latest win at Thirsk in July. 14/1, creditable seventh of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 19 days ago, keeping on until last ½f. Rider takes off a handy 7 lb which can aid his cause back in class 5 company. Not fired the last twice but drops in class today and this year's best gives him a shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (15/2 -173%) Maxi Boy |
15/2(-173%) | (2) Maxi Boy 15/2, Slipped to a career-low mark and capitalised on the drop in grade to land 10-runner handicap at Newcastle (7.1f, 18/1) 9 days ago, leading entering final 1f and going clear. Goes unpenalised for that and he makes obvious appeal partnered by the same promising apprentice. Came from off the pace to win easily at Newcastle latest (7f); no penalty and 6lb well in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (28/1 -75%) Surprise Picture |
28/1(-75%) | (4) Surprise Picture 28/1, Enhanced his good record at Wolverhampton with a visor refitted in 6-runner handicap (7f) in September. Exploits mixed in pair of starts at that venue more recently and it's been a while since he defied a mark this high. Not at his best last time and opposable returned to turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (9/2 +44%) Jenni |
9/2(+44%) | (10) Jenni 9/2, Career best when shedding maiden tag in 11-runner C&D handicap on penultimate start. Not in same form when last of 6 returned to this venue 9 days ago and she appeals as a likely type to bounce back. C&D win last month but not so good last week; career best required to win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (33/1 -106%) Spun To Gold |
33/1(-106%) | (3) Spun To Gold 33/1, Fairly useful form for Andrew Balding, running up to best when third at Kempton (7f) in June. Below best on final start later that month but gelded/changed hands for £36,000 thereafter and interesting what the market makes of him. Down in class for this stable debut but he has a three-month absence to contend with. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (14/1 -133%) Sparkling Red |
14/1(-133%) | (8) Sparkling Red 14/1, Tumbled down the weights since the turn of the year and ended losing run in 12-runner handicap at Thirsk (7f, good) 24 days ago, on just her second start at the trip. Remains with handicapping scope on old form and she's another to note. Revived by step up to 7f; 5lb rise for Thirsk win asks more but well treated on 2023 form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (15/2 +6%) Yaaser |
15/2(+6%) | (6) Yaaser 15/2, C&D winner. Latest win here in September. 12/1, respectable fourth of 9 in handicap at this course (8f, good) 9 days ago, left poorly placed. In with a definite shout granted a good gallop to aim at. Course win (1m) last month and also ran well here last week; feasible mark; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (40/1 -186%) American Star |
40/1(-186%) | (12) American Star 40/1, Latest win at Chester (7f) in July. Eighth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 25/1) 17 days ago, racing off the pace and merely closing up late. Operating 2 lb below last winning mark if he can bounce back. Should be well treated but he's been up and down this year and others look safer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MAXI BOY bounced right back to form when scoring with the minimum of fuss over this trip at Newcastle last week and, having escaped a penalty for winning an apprentice handicap, he may prove tough to stop. A 5lb rise for fellow last-time-out winner Sparkling Red shouldn't prevent another bold bid, while each-way players may look the way of Yaaser.
MAXI BOY has slipped to a career-low mark and benefited from a well-judged ride as he ended a losing run at Newcastle 9 days ago, going clear inside final 1f. Escaping a penalty for that success, he's given the nod to back that up with Tom Kiely-Marshall again in the plate. Cancan In The Rain has fallen to a handy mark and is feared, as is Thirsk-scorer Sparkling Red, who remains unexposed at this sort of trip.
Sparkling Red is unexposed at 7f and remains of interest but JOHN L SULLIVAN looks better than his mark and can pounce late.

7/1(-180%) | (3) Shine On Brendan 7/1, C&D winner. Improved on recent efforts to win 11-runner handicap (10/3) at Hamilton (8.3f, good to soft) 10 days ago by 2½ lengths from Gainsbourg, readily. Has to be taken seriously under a penalty. 4lb worse with Gainsbourg for a ready success latest; has paid to follow him when in form.. |

2nd (9) (40/1 -21%) Cisco Disco |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Cisco Disco 40/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. First run since leaving Richard Fahey when twelfth of 13 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 40/1) 21 days ago. 3rd (10) (15/8 +53%) Rwenearlytheredad |
15/8(+53%) | (10) Rwenearlytheredad 15/8, Visored for 1st time, respectable second of 10 in handicap at Musselburgh (7.1f, good, 4/1) 8 days ago. Enters calculations from his much-reduced mark. Season's best effort latest; up in trip; will need to settle better if he is to prevail.. |

4th (6) (9/2 -13%) Mr Jetman |
9/2(-13%) | (6) Mr Jetman 9/2, Respectable fourth of 9 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good to firm, evens) 40 days ago, weakening having taken a strong hold early. Had been knocking firmly on the door previously and he's one to consider returned to this shorter trip. A model of consistency in defeat this season; mark unchanged; should again be thereabouts.. |

5th (7) (12/1 +14%) Straya |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Straya 12/1, 50/1, creditable fifth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good) 9 days ago, having run of race. Remains a maiden but that was her best effort yet for her present stable. Each-way claims. Beaten 2l over C&D latest; drops slightly in grade again but still needs to pull out more.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (18/1 -64%) Zumaaty |
18/1(-64%) | (11) Zumaaty 18/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Hamilton in September. Bit below form fifth of 11 in handicap at Musselburgh (8f, good, 7/1) 8 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Won this in 2022; game win at Hamilton on his penultimate start but below par latest.. |

8th (8) (10/1 -43%) Colorada Dancer |
10/1(-43%) | (8) Colorada Dancer 10/1, Respectable fourth of 12 in handicap (16/1) at Beverley (8.4f, good to soft) 16 days ago, travelling better than most but his finishing effort flattening out. Probably not one to be going overboard about, yet this less exacting test can help. Drops another 2lb but we haven't seen enough to suggest that will tip the scales his way.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (33/1 -65%) Izzari |
33/1(-65%) | (5) Izzari 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 12/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Hamilton (9.2f, good) 18 days ago, pushed along over 3f out and making no impression. Something to find on form. Disappointing when coming in for some support but never involved on handicap debut latest.. |

10/1(+38%) | (4) Strongbowe 10/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 40/1, twelfth of 16 in minor event at Doncaster (8f, good to soft) 25 days ago, weakening final 1f. Tongue strap back on. Well in on 2023 form; tongue-tie accompanies cheekpieces; support would pique interest.. |

Below par in a better race than this latest but a player if close to his season's best.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A winner over C&D before, SHINE ON BRENDAN looks the one to beat following a comfortable success at Hamilton last month. The seven-year-old can uphold form with the reopposing Gainsbourg (second), while Mr Jetman is another to note having shown up well in recent starts over further. Runner-up over 7f at Musselburgh last time out, Rwenearlytheredad has the potential to improve for going up in trip.
SHINE ON BRENDAN posted his best effort of the year when seeing off re-opposing Gainsbourg by 2½ lengths on his latest outing at Hamilton 10 days ago and a repeat under a penalty should see Jim Goldie's 7-y-o firmly in the mix once more. Rwenearlytheredad and Mr Jetman are the chief threats.
The way SHINE ON BRENDAN put Gainsbourg in his place last time suggests that he can do the same again on 4lb worse terms.

9th (3) (5/1 -67%) Dandy's Angel |
5/1(-67%) | (3) Dandy's Angel 5/1, 6/1, improved on recent efforts to win 14-runner handicap at Redcar (10f, good to soft) 5 days ago. Carries penalty. Significantly up in trip. Good chance in 4-timer bid if she stays. Steps up in trip but the way she won at Hamilton suggests she'll see it out; big player.. |

10th (9) (66/1 -371%) Sitcom |
66/1(-371%) | (9) Sitcom 66/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 8 in novice (28/1) at Kempton (12f) 36 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Not easy to make a case for. Mark looks fair if she is at the level of her penultimate effort; check the market.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
DANDY'S ANGEL looked well at ease when scoring over 1m4f at Hamilton on her penultimate start and going up to this trip shouldn't inconvenience her as she looks to land the four-timer. A winner over further here last week and turned out quickly under a 4lb penalty, Ebony Maw must enter calculations, along with Val Bassett, who wasn't devoid of promise at Hamilton latest.
Likeable mare DANDY'S ANGEL has struck up a productive partnership with her talented young jockey and, having won with more in hand than the result at Redcar 5 days ago, she's worth a chance to land the four-timer, a major feat for a 7-y-o. Jaminoz, who was second to the selection 10 days ago at Hamilton, is much better off at the weights and is regarded as the main danger ahead of Ebony Maw.
Given the way DANDY'S ANGEL won again last time, she may be capable of defying an additional 8lb over this new trip.
Ths is the racecard key.
