1st (1) (11/2 +15%) Starshiba |
11/2(+15%) | (1) Starshiba 11/2, C&D winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. First run since leaving Michael Appleby when sixth of 8 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 11/2) 18 days ago. Visor back on. Low-key stable debut (behind King David) 18 days ago; could leave that well behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (13/8 +13%) King David |
13/8(+13%) | (2) King David 13/8, Winner at Kempton in September. Creditable second of 8 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 11/10) 18 days ago. Has to be taken seriously once more. Running well in defeat since a 7f AW win in September; involved once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (80/1 -21%) Rainbow Sign |
80/1(-21%) | (8) Rainbow Sign 80/1, Twenty seven runs since last win in 2022 and pulled up in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 26 days ago. Hard to fancy from well out of the weights. Pulled up last time and hard to recommend from well out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (3/1 +40%) Enpassant |
3/1(+40%) | (6) Enpassant 3/1, 14/1, creditable fourth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 11 days ago, left with too much to do. Can defy this mark when things fall right. Threatening bigger run in recent starts; hood off today; chance if getting the start right. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (4/1 +67%) Saturnalia |
4/1(+67%) | (5) Saturnalia 4/1, Course winner who seemed not to see out the longer trip when eighth of 11 in handicap at this course (10f, AW) 28 days ago. Return to shorter obvious plus. Edging down the weights and the return to 1m should suit; not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (33/1 -175%) Twirler |
33/1(-175%) | (3) Twirler 33/1, 28/1, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 48 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Charlie Fellowes. Should remain competitive. Two 7f AW wins for C Fellowes; fair third last month; unexposed at 1m; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 +67%) Shot Of Love |
11/1(+67%) | (7) Shot Of Love 11/1, 33/1, first run since leaving Michael Appleby when ninth of 11 in handicap at this course (7f, AW) 42 days ago, going off too hard. This should reveal more. Chance on this year's best but he needs to leave a low-key stable debut behind him. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A switch in tactics paid dividends for PALADIN on his latest start. Held up for a late challenge at Southwell, the son of Justify produced a strong finish to open his account on the all-weather, and a 4lb rise may not be enough to anchor him. King David won over 7f at Kempton back in September and can feature again having gone close at Southwell last time, while Enpassant is noted too.
ENPASSANT isn't one to have maximum faith in given his poor strike rate and tendency to miss the break, but he certainly possesses more than enough ability to defy his current mark, so he's well worth another chance in a less competitive handicap. King David and recent Southwell winner Paladin are considered the main threats.
A small field but hard to rule out many with confidence. ENPASSANT is on a dangerous mark and is just preferred over Paladin.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MASTER TECHNICIAN found the step up to a mile beyond him when finishing fourth in a nursery at Kempton. Rod Millman's charge had returned the convincing winner of a decent maiden race over this distance at Musselburgh before that and gets another chance back in novice company. Mister Mcgregor gave the impression he would appreciate this extra furlong when narrowly beaten over 6f at Southwell, while The Thames Lady is another to note.
A weak novice and a good opportunity for MASTER TECHNICIAN to quickly resume winning ways under a penalty. Mister McGregor was only just denied in a nursery at Southwell and rates the main threat ahead of newcomer Dynamic Charge.
The Thames Lady isn't fully exposed but MASTER TECHNICIAN looks the one to beat despite his penalty.

2nd (3) (8/11 +42%) This Farh |
8/11(+42%) | (3) This Farh 8/11, Shaped well when runner-up on at Brighton on debut in August. Turned out a week later and failed to build on that at Thirsk but worth another chance back from a break. Two encouraging runs on turf (6f, good) in August; been gelded; good chance in weak race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (17/2 +15%) Kazakh |
17/2(+15%) | (2) Kazakh 17/2, Once-raced maiden. Tongue strap on, eighth of 11 in maiden at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 18/1) on debut 15 days ago. Green off the bridle when eighth on recent Wolverhampton debut; should know more here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (14/1 +50%) Saidha |
14/1(+50%) | (6) Saidha 14/1, Once-raced maiden. 200/1, eighth of 12 in novice at Kempton (6f) on debut 27 days ago, never nearer. Kempton debut (6f) wasn't without hope but likely she's a longer-term prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (40/1 -344%) Black Falcon |
40/1(-344%) | (7) Black Falcon 40/1, Twice-raced maiden. Better effort when fifth of 14 in maiden (50/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 47 days ago. Respected. Took a step forward on her second start when 5th at Chelmsford last month; can do better. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (5/1 +38%) Almutraf |
5/1(+38%) | (1) Almutraf 5/1, Twice-raced maiden. Better effort when sixth of 11 in novice at Kempton (7f, 13/2) 20 days ago, not knocked about. Can do better. Couldn't justify market support at Kempton last time but clearly thought capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (80/1 -142%) Spinning Dancer |
80/1(-142%) | (9) Spinning Dancer 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, eighth of 14 in maiden at Chelmsford City (7f) 47 days ago. Eighth in three runs at up 7f; improvement required. |

10th (10) (50/1 -317%) Straighttothepoint |
50/1(-317%) | (10) Straighttothepoint 50/1, Won claimer at Le Croise-Laroche in September. 100/1, first run since leaving Florian Guyader when eighth of 11 in novice at Kempton (7f) on UK debut 20 days ago. 5.5f win in France; well-beaten 100-1 shot on British/stable debut; bit to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
THIS FARH went close over 6f at Brighton back in August and that looks the strongest piece of form on offer. David Loughnane's charge has been gelded since and pedigree suggests this stiffer test of stamina will suit. Black Falcon posted an improved effort when fifth at Chelmsford and could have more to offer, while Almutraf showed a bit more at Kempton last time.
THIS FARH is worth another chance to confirm debut promise back from a break in a novice that looks even weaker than the first division. Black Falcon is next best ahead of Almutraf.
The betting should be revealing in a race in which few have offered significant promise. THIS FARH is the tentative selection.

1st (4) (3/1 +14%) Lord Of All Saints |
3/1(+14%) | (4) Lord Of All Saints 3/1, Built on fourth of 14 on return/handicap debut at Chepstow (2m) when showing improved form to get off the mark easily at Leicester (20.5f, good to soft) 43 days ago. Travelled smoothly that day and an 8 lb rise in the weights might not be enough to stop him, although this does look a stronger race. Up 8lb for comfortable Leicester win but might well be able to deal with that rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (12/1 -71%) Definite Dream |
12/1(-71%) | (1) Definite Dream 12/1, Has reached the frame on all 5 hurdles outing when completing, including second here (2m) in November. Fell in a novice event here (when being pressed 3 out) 40 days ago. Back handicapping today and has each-way claims assuming fall hasn't knocked her confidence. Second in a handicap here before departing late on in a novice; back at the right level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/2 +0%) Stardhem |
9/2(+0%) | (8) Stardhem 9/2, Well backed into favouritism in first-time cheekpieces when second at Lingfield (19.5f) 33 days ago, no extra after last having set a sound gallop. Cheekpieces retained and should go well again under positive tactics for a yard whose horses are in great form. Runner-up in the new cheekpieces at Lingfield and gets in here off an untouched mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/4 +36%) Elle Est Beau |
9/4(+36%) | (3) Elle Est Beau 9/4, Maiden who looked set to win when falling at the last at Sandown (20f heavy) in January. Struggled on final two starts of last season but ran with credit on return when second (20.4f, good) at Southwell in first-time cheekpieces (carried head awkwardly). Headgear on again today and not ruled out. Maiden but with ability; good ground probably not ideal when second on Southwell return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/1 +0%) Hiero Sport |
9/1(+0%) | (6) Hiero Sport 9/1, Improved on his previous hurdles efforts to get off the mark at Fakenham following 5-month break (20f, good) recently, won with bit in hand. Not in same form last time out when eighth of 13 at Doncaster. Runs in first-time hood today and not discounted if back to the form he showed at Fakenham. Fakenham winner who never threatened to follow up next time; now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (33/1 +34%) Jimmyjeroo |
33/1(+34%) | (2) Jimmyjeroo 33/1, Probably flattered in when fourth of 8 in a falsely-run novice hurdle at Fontwell (17.7f, good) last month and pulled up when tackling new trip (24.7f) at Wincanton 26 days ago. Back down in distance today and others would have stronger claims. Never gave himself a chance of staying 3m on handicap debut last time after racing freely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (12/1 +64%) Broomfield Gale |
12/1(+64%) | (5) Broomfield Gale 12/1, Modest hurdler at best in Ireland for Robert Murphy. Played up beforehand but ran creditably on her first outing for this yard when third at Ludlow (21.3f) before running to a similar level when seventh of 15 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (23.9f, good, 33/1) 19 days ago. Back down in trip today. Beaten just under 20l in 2m5f/3m handicaps for current yard and has to step up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (11) (20/1 -25%) Three Zambezi's |
20/1(-25%) | (11) Three Zambezi's 20/1, Placed in Irish points but struggled in three starts under Rules. Looked in need of a step up in trip when ninth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (15.8f, good) 35 days ago. Needs more but should benefit from today's stiffer test (19f) and runners from this yard often worth a market check. Only ninth on handicap debut at Southwell when beaten 17l at odds of 40-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (8/1 +6%) Inchiquin Spirit |
8/1(+6%) | (13) Inchiquin Spirit 8/1, Modest maiden hurdler who wasn't disgraced when fourth of 8 in 2m Leicester handicap in November and again ran with credit when third from out of the weights at Uttoxeter (19.9f, soft) 21 days ago. Races off a lowly handicap mark and place claims, albeit in a stronger contest. Hasn't been far away in her last two handicaps (1m7f/2m4f); each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (33/1 -32%) Joker Jack |
33/1(-32%) | (9) Joker Jack 33/1, Hinted at ability in a bumper/novice hurdles last season and again showed signs of promise on return to track (off 9 months) third of four at Exeter (16.7f) in November. Upped in trip and wears cheekpieces for handicap debut and could prove to be better than his modest opening handicap mark in time. Poor so far but goes handicapping off a basement mark and with cheekpieces added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (33/1 0%) That's The Badger |
33/1(0%) | (7) That's The Badger 33/1, Fair maiden over hurdles for Henry Daly but didn't convince in 2 starts over fences for that yard during 2021. Pulled up for new yard, following a lengthy absence in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.5f) and well-beaten again (tongue-tied) at Leicester last month (15f). Cheekpieces added today. Pulled up and tailed off in two handicap hurdles following an absence; cheekpieces added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (40/1 -43%) Dom Bosco |
40/1(-43%) | (12) Dom Bosco 40/1, Well beaten on return from 17 months off at Ludlow (21.2f, good to soft) in October and pulled-up again at Wincanton (24.7f, heavy, 20/1) 26 days ago. Tried in cheekpieces again but recent form offers little hope. 12-race maiden who has been pulled up back over hurdles after a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (80/1 -21%) Complete Fantasy |
80/1(-21%) | (10) Complete Fantasy 80/1, Modest maiden hurdler in Ireland and hard to draw any positives from his three runs since switching to Chris Honour. Tongue tie back on today. Longstanding maiden who has shown nothing since returning to rules action; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Elle Est Beau posted one of her better efforts when filling the runner-up spot at Southwell last time out and is respected, but the vote goes to LORD OF ALL SAINTS. Harriet Dickin's gelding appeared to relish a step up in trip when winning easily at Leicester last month and given his scope for further progress, an 8lb rise might not be beyond him. Others to note include Stardhem and Joker Jack.
A very trappy opening contest and plenty have decent claims. STARDHEM may well be able to dominate from the front here and can register another win for the red-hot Ben Pauling yard. Lord of All Saints is feared having caught the eye with the way he moved through the race when breaking his duck last time. The expensive to follow Elle Est Beau cannot be discounted on her best form while handicap-debutant Joker Jack could prove to be better than his opening mark in time.
Although a maiden, ELLE EST BEAU (nap) has run some good races and her comeback run on good ground was one of those.

1st (1) (11/4 +39%) Andy Amo |
11/4(+39%) | (1) Andy Amo 11/4, Just modest in bumpers but has surpassed that form in making the frame both starts in maiden hurdles, again shaping like a stayer at Ffos Las (20f) latest. Step up in trip seems sure to suit and must enter calculations. In the frame at Ffos Las on both hurdling starts (2m6f/2m4f); each-way claims at least. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (8/1 -33%) Pike Road |
8/1(-33%) | (4) Pike Road 8/1, Runner-up in a point and offered more than in his sole bumper upped markedly in trip when second in a 12-runner maiden hurdle (23f) at Worcester in July. Off since but open to improvement nonetheless. Second in modest Worcester maiden during the summer; needs a bigger performance here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/2 -13%) Grand Geste |
9/2(-13%) | (3) Grand Geste 9/2, Down the field in 2 bumpers but left previous hurdling exploits in his wake when second of 14 in a novice hurdle at Carlisle (20f) in October, headed dying strides. Ran to a similar level upped in trip when third at Haydock since and likely to be in the thick of the action again. Much improved on last two outings, more recently when third over 3m at Haydock; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/2 +55%) Seatoit |
9/2(+55%) | (5) Seatoit 9/2, Fair in bumpers and should learn from his opening effort over hurdles when fifth of 13 in at Chepstow (19.4f, good) 39 days ago, for all that he showed an ungainly side. Displayed clear promise over 2m3f on hurdle debut and looks interesting over today's trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (5/2 -33%) Star Of Diamonds |
5/2(-33%) | (6) Star Of Diamonds 5/2, Diamond Boy gelding. Dam (h90), bumper/2m hurdle winner (stayed 2½m), half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 25f) Western Run. Winning pointer at fourth attempt and shaped quite promisingly when fourth of 10 at Haydock on hurdling debut 27 days ago, weakening only late on. Should improve. Irish point winner; promising fourth on rules debut at Haydock; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (150/1 -88%) Synchronist |
150/1(-88%) | (7) Synchronist 150/1, Runner-up on completed start in Irish points but was well held switched to Rules in a maiden hurdle at Lingfield 13 days ago. Showed only minor promise when 50-1 for recent stable/hurdle debut (2m3f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (8) (200/1 -100%) Tommy Tucker |
200/1(-100%) | (8) Tommy Tucker 200/1, Multiplex gelding. Brother to fairly useful hurdler The Herds Garden, stays 2½m. Dam, pulled up sole start over hurdles, 7f winner on Flat. Seems very unlikely to meet the required standard on this belated debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (14/1 -40%) Camps Bay |
14/1(-40%) | (9) Camps Bay 14/1, Mount Nelson gelding who showed plenty to work on when third of 12 in maiden hurdle (50/1) at Leicester (20.5f, good to soft) on debut 43 days ago, running on late. Open to improvement over this longer trip. Battled on for modest third on debut (2m4f); this step up in trip looks the right move. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (20/1 -67%) Express Run |
20/1(-67%) | (2) Express Run 20/1, Failed to justify support when down the field only start in bumpers but has steadily improved with each run over hurdles, finishing third in 6-runner affair at Newcastle (22f) latterly. Placed on all three hurdling starts but needs to find something extra to land this prize. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (150/1 -50%) Oneandahalfdegrees |
150/1(-50%) | (10) Oneandahalfdegrees 150/1, Well held in maiden/novice hurdle 11 months apart. Did not show a great deal on her first two hurdling starts (both 2m5f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Although unable to justify favouritism when finishing fourth on his hurdles bow at Haydock earlier this month, STAR OF DIAMONDS should have learned plenty from that experience. Any natural improvement should make Emma Lavelle's gelding tough to beat and he is fancied to repel chief rival Grand Geste. He finished ahead of the selection in third at Haydock and is expected to go well, despite being a bit more exposed. Pike Road is the pick of the remainder.
STAR OF DIAMONDS made a promising start to his career under Rules when fourth at Haydock earlier in the month and is put forward as the answer with improvement on the cards. Grand Geste seemed suited by the step up to this trip when finishing narrowly ahead of the selection last time, with Andy Amo also of firm interest now upped in distance.
The suggestion is STAR OF DIAMONDS, who shaped very well when fourth on his rules debut at Haydock four weeks ago.

2/1(+0%) | (7) Shannon Royale 2/1, Promising sort. Ran right up to form when second of 9 in minor event chase (13/2) at this course (23.3f, soft) 21 days ago. Sets the standard. Course winner over hurdles, fine effort over C&D latest, should go well again. |

2nd (3) (6/4 -20%) High Class Hero |
6/4(-20%) | (3) High Class Hero 6/4, Smart hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Thurles in January. Good second of 7 in novice hurdle at this course (23.9f, good to soft, 9/1). Off 8 months. Makes chase debut and he's a classy sort for leading yard. Rated 148 over timber, placed in Gr 1 novice latest, stable form a worry, big form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/2 +25%) Loughglynn |
9/2(+25%) | (5) Loughglynn 9/2, Useful winner at 23f over hurdles. 8/11, respectable 3 lengths second of 6 to Sounds Russian in listed hurdle at Perth (23.9f, soft). Off 8 months. Makes chase debut. Grade 2 winner over hurdles, best form on testing ground, Townend prefers his stablemate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (300/1 -50%) Jeel Des Mottes |
300/1(-50%) | (4) Jeel Des Mottes 300/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. 250/1, eleventh of 12 in novice chase at Naas (20.1f, good to soft) on debut over fences 15 days ago. Modest over hurdles, well-beaten on chase debut, out of his depth. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (10/1 +64%) Now Is The Hour |
10/1(+64%) | (6) Now Is The Hour 10/1, Useful winner at 24f over hurdles. Below form sixth of 18 in novice chase at Navan (20.7f, soft, 22/1) 24 days ago, not knocked about. Has a bigger performance in him over fences. Gr 2 novice hurdle winner on heavy, strip fitter for last run but may need softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (22/1 +45%) Buachaillbocht |
22/1(+45%) | (1) Buachaillbocht 22/1, Fairly useful winner at 23f over hurdles. 22/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, fifth of 9 in minor event chase at this course (23.3f, soft) 21 days ago. Should progress but he'll need to in this company. Two-time course winner over timber, no impact in first two chases, may need softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (16/1 -60%) Grand Soir |
16/1(-60%) | (2) Grand Soir 16/1, Promising sort. 20/1, third of 6 in novice chase at this course (23.7f, heavy) on debut over fences. Off 12 months. Likely to improve. 3-5 over hurdles, ground too testing for C&D chase debut, can go well if fit after absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
HIGH CLASS HERO was last seen finishing runner-up in a Grade 1 novice hurdle over 3m at Punchestown in May and is of obvious interest on his chasing debut. Shannon Royale has filled the runner-up berth on both of his previous starts over fences. On those occasions, he was beaten by a Mullins inmate and he has two of them to beat here as the champion trainer also saddles Loughglynn, who was a Grade 2 winner over hurdles.
HIGH CLASS HERO was the best of these over hurdles and sure to be well prepared for this chase debut, he looks the answer. Shannon Royale sets a pretty good standard over fences though and his limit has not yet been reached, with Grand Soir also considered.
Preference is for SHANNON ROYALE. He likes it here and his previous experience in this sphere might just give him the edge.

1st (7) (10/3 +67%) Horus |
10/3(+67%) | (7) Horus 10/3, Lightly-raced maiden. First run since leaving Craig Lidster when respectable eighth of 14 in nursery at Southwell (5f, 25/1) in September, weakening final 1f. Absent since and he needs to step up to play a lead role here. Overall profile unconvincing; hopes rest on the change of surface sparking something extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (17/2 -21%) Friday Again |
17/2(-21%) | (8) Friday Again 17/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 100/1, fifth of 10 in novice at Chelmsford City (6f) 52 days ago. Makes handicap debut and worth noting if the market speaks in her favour. Promise in three AW runs and rates a likely improver now handicapping at a modest level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 +22%) Kiss Me My Love |
7/2(+22%) | (1) Kiss Me My Love 7/2, Off the mark in maiden at Carlisle in June but exploits mixed thereafter, absent since finishing last of 6 in nursery at Haydock (6f) 5 months ago. Bounce back certainly not out of the question on tapeta debut. Absent since finishing last at Haydock in August; encouragement for AW on paper. |

4th (3) (11/1 +8%) Cristalino |
11/1(+8%) | (3) Cristalino 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tenth of 12 in nursery (40/1) at Kempton (6f) 69 days ago, racing off the pace and unable to land a blow. Eased 3 lb ahead of this but she needs to pull out more. Bred to be useful but yet to achieve a great deal in two nursery runs; dropped 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (28/1 0%) Apple's Angel |
28/1(0%) | (10) Apple's Angel 28/1, Winner at Chelmsford City in October but not fired in trio of starts since, last of 8 in nursery back at that venue (5f) 12 days ago. Hood on 1st time. Needs to get back on track. Disappointing since her Chelmsford win in October; stable also runs Friday Again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (8/1 +11%) Flicka's Girl |
8/1(+11%) | (2) Flicka's Girl 8/1, Debut winner at Wolverhampton back in the spring. Failed to progress thereafter on turf but possibly needed the run after 3 months off having rejoined former yard when seventh of 12 in nursery at Southwell (5f) 18 days ago. Back up in trip now. Looked promising in the spring; needs to leave recent nursery debut well behind her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (14/1 +30%) Mystical Elegance |
14/1(+30%) | (4) Mystical Elegance 14/1, First run since leaving Raphael Freire when tenth of 12 in nursery (66/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 29 days ago, never on terms. Eased 4 lb on the back of that if she can step up on that run here. One run in June that gives her claims but she was well-beaten at 66-1 on her stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (10/3 +33%) Makes Me Wonder |
10/3(+33%) | (9) Makes Me Wonder 10/3, Holy Roman Emperor gelding who stepped up on his opening pair of efforts when sixth of 13 in novice at Chelmsford City (7f) in September, making steady headway final 1f. Likely there's better to come now handicapping back from a break. Drops in trip for nursery debut and he's been improving race by race; betting to guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having overcome a troubled passage to score on his stable bow at Southwell 12 days ago, EARLY RELEASE makes plenty of appeal on his follow-up bid. David Evans' charge scored a shade cosily on that occasion and he can take a 4lb rise in his stride. The biggest threat may emerge from all-weather debutant Kiss Me My Love, who is likely to prove more competitive in these calmer waters. An improved bid from Marvelously in first-time blinkers likely beckons too.
EARLY RELEASE looked well bought at just 1,500 gns when making a winning debut for this yard at Southwell 12 days ago, leading on bridle 2f out and always holding on. He's fancied to make a bold bid to follow up from his revised mark, with nursery-debutant Makes Me Wonder, Kiss Me My Love and Flicka's Girl others to consider.
Stall 10 isn't ideal for the otherwise solid Early Release and maybe FRIDAY AGAIN can build on the promise of her qualifying runs.

1st (3) (7/4 +13%) Crazierthandaisy |
7/4(+13%) | (3) Crazierthandaisy 7/4, Fairly useful bumper winner who has made a promising enough start over hurdles despite being turned over at short odds on both occasions, including over an extended 2½m at Southwell latterly. Remains open to improvement. Second at short prices in both hurdle races; clearly up to winning something like this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (25/1 +24%) Come On Nia |
25/1(+24%) | (1) Come On Nia 25/1, Telescope mare who displayed improved form away from the mud when winning a brace of handicap in May/June. Bounced back from a lesser effort when second at Ludlow the previous month but faced with a stiff task on these terms. Dual 2m winner who looks vulnerable with the extra weight back in a novice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (16) (11/1 -38%) Two Fingers West |
11/1(-38%) | (16) Two Fingers West 11/1, Changed hands for £38,000 after winning the second of her 2 starts in Irish maiden points last winter and offered something to work on starting out under Rules when fifth in 9-runner novice at Fontwell (19.1f) 3 weeks ago. Open to improvement. Made up ground to be beaten just under 10l in a Fontwell novice; likely improver. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (7/2 +13%) Realta Liath |
7/2(+13%) | (11) Realta Liath 7/2, Purchased for £100,000 after winning sole Irish point and ran to a fair level both starts in bumpers last season. Made a promising enough hurdling debut after 7 months off when third at Wincanton recently and entitled to improve. Emerged from off the pace to finish third over this trip at Wincanton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (15) (14/1 +0%) The Secret Pearl |
14/1(+0%) | (15) The Secret Pearl 14/1, Fair bumper performer who showed more than on hurdling debut in a first-time tongue strap when third in 6-runner novice at Lingfield (2m) 22 days ago, Significantly back up in trip. Lingfield last time was better as the front two are quite useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (50/1 +0%) La Dolce Dolly |
50/1(+0%) | (9) La Dolce Dolly 50/1, Won sole start in Irish points (May 19) but looks one for staying handicaps later on under Rules. Still early days and positives to take from her latest run at Plumpton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (11/2 +39%) Honeywort |
11/2(+39%) | (8) Honeywort 11/2, Improved on hurdling debut form when fourth of 13 in novice (80/1) at Wincanton (21.4f, heavy) 26 days ago. Unlikely to be far away if repeating that. An improved effort at Wincanton (2m5f) latest and that form brings her into the equation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (15/2 -25%) Queshi Bridge |
15/2(-25%) | (10) Queshi Bridge 15/2, Fair hurdler who held her form last season. Wears first-time cheekpieces on her return to action and ought to give her running once again. Has shown that she's able when fresh and brings definite form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (11/1 -10%) Roebuck Bay |
11/1(-10%) | (12) Roebuck Bay 11/1, Just modest in bumpers but took a step forward from hurdling debut when second of 6 in novice at Hexham (16.2f, soft, 8/1) 20 days ago. Back up in trip. Likely to need more than when second at Hexham but the longer distance should help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (22/1 -57%) All Inn Hand |
22/1(-57%) | (2) All Inn Hand 22/1, Showed more than she had in a trio of bumpers when third in 11-runner maiden hurdle at Stratford (22f, good to soft) in October. This asks for more, however. Improved third at Stratford (2m6f, good to soft) in a race that's worked out quite well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (125/1 -150%) Fortune Dancer |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Fortune Dancer 125/1, Off mark in Irish points at third attempt in February 2023 but was well held making a belated Rules debut at Lingfield last month. Point winner but was tailed off on hurdling debut on the back of an absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (300/1 -50%) Damekap |
300/1(-50%) | (4) Damekap 300/1, Well held in bumper/novice hurdle 7 months apart. Instantly opposable on what she's shown in a bumper and 2m5f novice hurdle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (66/1 -100%) Sister Marguerite |
66/1(-100%) | (14) Sister Marguerite 66/1, Dylan Thomas mare. Runner-up only outing in Irish points in May 2023 but was well held on Rules debut at Lingfield the previous month. Her heavy defeat on hurdling debut did come after an absence, but best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (100/1 -100%) Hit For Sixty |
100/1(-100%) | (7) Hit For Sixty 100/1, In need of experience of sole outing in bumpers and didn't last out on her fist go at hurdling here the previous month. Probably more one for handicaps a bit further down the line. 40-1 for hurdling debut here and dropped away to be tailed off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (150/1 -127%) Scene Stealer |
150/1(-127%) | (13) Scene Stealer 150/1, Second sole outing in bumpers (modest form) and possibly needed the run fitted with a tongue strap on Leicester hurdling debut 16 months on. Upped markedly in trip. Point/bumper promise; didn't shape badly after an absence last time having raced freely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (300/1 -20%) Flyover |
300/1(-20%) | (5) Flyover 300/1, Well held in bumper/maiden hurdle. Sold out of Tim Vaughan's yard for only 1,200 gns. Changed hands for 1,200gns after heavy defeats for two different yards. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CRAZIERTHANDAISY sets the standard with an official rating of 108 and in a race lacking depth, she could take all the beating. The Walk In The Park mare was a beaten favourite at Southwell recently but that effort represented improvement nonetheless. Realta Liath shaped with promise on her hurdles debut last time out and is likely to step forward. Come On Nia has work to do giving weight away but this dual hurdles winner cannot be underestimated.
CRAZIERTHANDAISY has been turned over at short odds on both starts over hurdles, but she's done nothing obviously wrong and remains capable of better, so is taken to make it third time lucky in this sphere. Two Fingers West is fancied to build on her Fontwell Rules debut, with Realta Liath and Honeywort others to consider.
This is quite open for a race of this nature. CRAZIERTHANDAISY is learning on the job and can make it third-time lucky over hurdles.

1st (5) (14/1 -40%) Don Hollow |
14/1(-40%) | (5) Don Hollow 14/1, Bumper/maiden hurdle winner in 2022 and caught the eye on comeback run when fifth of 11 in 17f Carlisle handicap in October. Flopped at Sandown next time and well-held at Wincanton (15.2f, heavy) 26 days ago. Up in trip for powerful yard and market should tell us whether better expected today. Has raced infrequently since 2m3f maiden win two years ago; low-key form of late. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/2 +75%) El Granjero |
7/2(+75%) | (4) El Granjero 7/2, Won twice at Hereford last campaign but fairly quiet start to this season. Took time to warm to his task when fifth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (23.2f, heavy) 18 days ago. Cheekpieces applied now and they need to sharpen him up if he is to be involved in the finish here. Two wins in the spring; below that level since break but now down in grade; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (11/2 -100%) Haarar |
11/2(-100%) | (7) Haarar 11/2, Back-to-back winner over hurdles in May. Well positioned when scoring on Flat at Redcar in November (14f, soft) and ran his best race over hurdles when second at Haydock 27 days ago (19f). Not everything went to plan that day (keen and hampered by loose horse) and player with smoother passage here. Won maiden/novice hurdles; Flat winner over 1m6f in November; badly hampered latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/1 -50%) Kikijo |
9/1(-50%) | (3) Kikijo 9/1, Won juvenile hurdle decisively on sole start in France. Straight into handicaps on British debut (easy to back and probably needed the run) when fifth of 6 in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (15.8f, heavy) on 23 days ago. Interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour now upped in trip. Won 2m1f French hurdle in late 2023; needed run on belated return; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (28/1 -40%) Mcgowan's Pass |
28/1(-40%) | (8) Mcgowan's Pass 28/1, C&D winner who ended a long losing run in 6-runner handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (2½m, soft) in May. However, failed to build on that next time and ran poorly on comeback when pulled up at Leicester (20.5f, heavy) 26 days ago. A veteran performer now but does like it here (1st and 2nd from 2 starts). Good C&D record, finishing 2nd and 1st in two attempts; pulled up a long way out latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (5/2 +50%) Fresh Speculation |
5/2(+50%) | (6) Fresh Speculation 5/2, Has made a promising start in handicaps, progressed from promising third at Stratford (16.3f, heavy) to win a 10-runner handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (20f, heavy) 41 days ago. Seemed to relish the testing conditions that day and stamina clearly his strong suit. Respected and any rain would help. Still shows signs of greenness; improved when off the mark latest (2m4f); can improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (10/3 -11%) Benassi |
10/3(-11%) | (2) Benassi 10/3, Won twice over hurdles in early 2023 and returned to form in first-time cheekpieces (retained today) when second of 9 at Leicester (20.5f, heavy) 26 days ago. He needs to prove he can back up his last run but is 1 from 1 here and has to be respected representing excellent trainer/jockey combination. Lightly raced since two hurdle wins in early 2023; back on track latest (2m4f); fair mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (33/1 -175%) San Guido |
33/1(-175%) | (1) San Guido 33/1, Career-best in Ireland when winning 6-runner juvenile hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy) back in February when trained by Henry De Bromhead. Ran with credit in France over the summer, winning once (Clairefontaine, 18f, soft) but no easy task on U.K. debut for current connections. Two hurdle wins in 2024 for different yards; another new trainer today following a break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A 6lb rise in the ratings for Fresh Speculation's breakthrough victory at Ffos Las last month shouldn't prevent another bold bid, although he may be worth taking on up in class. With that in mind, BENASSI makes slightly more appeal after returning to form when runner-up at Leicester 26 days ago. Olly Murphy's charge scored on his sole visit to this track and a third career triumph could be on the cards. Don Hollow is also noted.
HAARAR is readily preferred here, having been unlucky not to finish closer when second earlier this month, and he can go one better today. Course-winner Benassi is respected on his return to this venue and Fresh Speculation seems to be improving.
Fresh Speculation has more to come but preference is for HAARAR who has looked in good heart on the Flat and over hurdles of late.

Steps back up in trip now and he's one to be interested in. Progressive 6yo; excellent recent comeback run; big player back at more suitable trip. |

2nd (9) (14/1 +0%) Rolly Bowley Boy |
14/1(+0%) | (9) Rolly Bowley Boy 14/1, Fair hurdles winner who made the frame on six consecutive occasions over fences last term. Below best when seventeenth of 20 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at Cork (20f, heavy) 9 months ago and cheekpieces replace visor starting out for new yard. Absent since March and debuts for new yard here; ideally wants it softer. |

3rd (4) (10/1 -67%) Listentillitellyea |
10/1(-67%) | (4) Listentillitellyea 10/1, Fairly useful hurdler who showed benefit of his reappearance run when third of 10 in novice chase at this course (16.4f, soft, 100/1) 21 days ago. Respected now handicapping in this sphere for all he's an infrequent winner. Promising third here recently; likely more to offer entering handicaps and gets this trip. |

4th (10) (11/1 +31%) Marronstown |
11/1(+31%) | (10) Marronstown 11/1, Confirmed previous promise in this sphere when successful over extended 3m here in June. Below best next 2 starts, well held fifth of 10 in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, good to soft) in September. Subsequent break needs to have had positive effect. 3m winner here in June; back from a break here but goes well fresh so not to be ignored. |

7/2(+13%) | (8) Noble Talent 7/2, 11/1, career best when winning 16-runner novice chase at Gowran (20f, good) 52 days ago, driven out. Makes handicap chase debut. Has good chance on form. Gowran maiden winner looks the type to keep progressing and make his mark in handicaps. |

18/1(+10%) | (6) Hardwired 18/1, Course winner. 16/1, shaped much better than bare result after 7 months off when pulled up in handicap chase at this course (21.3f, soft) 38 days ago, weakening quickly having clouted 2 out. No surprise to see him thereabouts. Mistake took it's toll on recent comeback run; goes well here so don't rule out. |

7th (2) (12/1 +25%) Now Where Or When |
12/1(+25%) | (2) Now Where Or When 12/1, Down in the weights and finished sixth in the Ulster National in April. Has won following a similar absence in the past and this marked step back in trip will hold no fears. Didn't convince over staying trips last season; back in trip for seasonal return. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (25/1 -150%) Brazil |
25/1(-150%) | (1) Brazil 25/1, Useful hurdler. Fairly useful winner at 12f on flat. 25/1, Yet to get near that level in this sphere, ninth of 10 in novice chase (50/1) at this course (16.4f, soft) 21 days ago, never travelling/jumping with any fluency. Switches to handicaps now but he's not the easiest to assess. Yet to convince over fences; upped in trip for handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FOLLY MASTER ran a cracker on his return from a nine-month absence at Navan recently. Over a trip short of his optimum, the six-year-old kept on well in the closing stages to finish a never-nearer second and another good run can be expected. A winner at the Cheltenham Festival in 2022, Brazil warrants the utmost respect on his handicap debut over fences. The dual-course victor Hardwired, Listentillitellya and Noble Talent are other leading hopes.
The lightly-raced FOLLY MASTER shaped well, not least with a view to stepping back up to this sort of trip, when second at Navan (2m) 16 days ago, finishing to good effect having met some trouble. He earns the vote to prove this mark within reach. Gowran-winner Noble Talent and Hardwired, who shaped much better than being pulled up suggests last time, is another worth a second look.
FOLLY MASTER should have plenty more to offer and his recent comeback run at Navan augurs well here now upped to a more suitable trip

40/1(-150%) | (5) Grace Angel 40/1, Latest win at Yarmouth in September. 4/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f). Off 95 days. Others more persuasive. Fast filly with good strike-rate; she'll need to be cherry ripe to take this after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (5/1 +58%) The Thames Boatman |
5/1(+58%) | (6) The Thames Boatman 5/1, Three wins from 10 runs this year, the latest over C&D in September. Below form seventh of 12 in handicap (10/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 87 days ago. Not out of things back at the minimum trip following a break. Good strike-rate on AW, including 3-3 here; this should be run to suit; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (12/1 -33%) Rosario |
12/1(-33%) | (1) Rosario 12/1, Useful form at 2 yrs (placed in Group 2/3 company) and stepped up a little on his run here in March when 5½ lengths fifth of 10 to Jasour in Pavilion Stakes at Ascot (6f, good) in May. Not seen again since so the betting can guide returned to handicap company. Useful 2yo; ran OK in an Ascot Group 3 when last seen in May; unexposed; sharp 5f a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (9/1 -38%) Sommelier |
9/1(-38%) | (3) Sommelier 9/1, Eighth of 10 in handicap (15/2) at Kempton (6f) 13 days ago, weakening over 1f out. Cheekpieces back on now and he needs to get back on track. Encouraging return at Newcastle (behind Kylian); drawn wide when below par last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
KYLIAN lost little in defeat when a close-up second at Southwell three weeks ago and compensation could be on the horizon. Archie Watson's charge is still open to improvement and a 1lb rise shouldn't inconvenience him. Recent Wolverhampton runner-up Existent warrants consideration racing off an unchanged mark, but this rise in class may prove beyond him. With that in mind, triple C&D winner Bedford Flyer is put forward as the main danger.
Having been given a chance by the handicapper, EXISTENT dropped his biggest hint yet that he could be ready to end the drought when a good second at Wolverhampton 4 days ago, just failing, and he's given the narrow vote back up in grade, with his rider taking off a handy 3 lb. Kylian and Bedford Flyer also arrive on the back of solid efforts and can provide chief resistance.
Kylian and Bedford Flyer should be involved but THE THAMES BOATMAN is taken to maintain his unbeaten course record.

1st (4) (11/8 +0%) Special Acceptance |
11/8(+0%) | (4) Special Acceptance 11/8, Not the easiest to win with but made the frame on 5 of his 6 starts for Paul Webber last season and also came in a clear runner-up in 3m Uttoxeter handicap for new yard on return. Let down by jumping when second at Huntingdon since. He was beaten 12l at Huntingdon last time and his strike-rate of 1-32 is offputting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (6/4 +14%) Supervisor |
6/4(+14%) | (2) Supervisor 6/4, Twice a winner last season, including similar event at Wincanton in April. Excuses on final start so no surprise to see him go well on return. 10yo with only 15 starts behind him; good chance if on his game after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 +22%) Top Ville Ben |
7/2(+22%) | (1) Top Ville Ben 7/2, Winless for almost 3 years and further signs of decline last season. Fared no better starting out for this yard after 7 months off at Lingfield 22 days ago. Could be dangerous if getting a soft lead, which wasn't the case on recent stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (20/1 +20%) Ballinslea Bridge |
20/1(+20%) | (5) Ballinslea Bridge 20/1, Won a Market Rasen handicap chase 2 years ago. Failed to complete on 5 of his 6 subsequent starts, however, and has a 13-month absence to defy. 12yo who has completed only once since his 3m win at Market Rasen two years ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
TOP VILLE BEN hasn't tasted success in some time now but he showed a glimmer of promise on his debut for the Jennie Candlish team recently. Eased 5lb in the handicap for his troubles and with the potential to be allowed his own way in front, the son of Beneficial gets the vote. Special Acceptance continues to knock on the door and is likely to prove popular, while Supervisor drops in class for his seasonal return and heads the remainder.
Low-mileage 10-y-o SUPERVISOR won a similar event at Wincanton in the spring and can make a winning return for his in-form yard. Special Acceptance is proving difficult to win with but is still the obvious threat in a weak race.
This weak race is a good opportunity for SUPERVISOR to win for a third time in 2024.

1st (5) (22/1 -22%) Ithaka |
22/1(-22%) | (5) Ithaka 22/1, Resumed winning ways at Market Rasen (23f) in December and not disgraced when fifth of 10 in handicap at Catterick (25.3f, good) 14 days ago. Considered. Won off much reduced mark this month but some of his less exposed rivals appeal more. |

2nd (6) (5/1 +29%) Just Chasing May |
5/1(+29%) | (6) Just Chasing May 5/1, Course winner in June and has continued in good nick, third of 8 to Twp Stori in handicap hurdle at Lingfield (23f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Not taken lightly off the same mark. Placed all three starts since 2m4f course win in June; likely contender again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (22/1 +45%) No Rematch |
22/1(+45%) | (7) No Rematch 22/1, It's now 13 runs since his last win in 2023 and he came in only tenth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (23.9f, good) 19 days ago. Others appeal more. Fairly useful in his prime but unplaced all four starts for new stable this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (4/1 +0%) Twp Stori |
4/1(+0%) | (9) Twp Stori 4/1, Steadily progressive sort and got back to winning ways in 23f Lingfield handicap last month, forced to dig deep to land the odds. Not ruled out despite taking a 5 lb rise. Held on narrowly for Lingfield win last month; now 2-12 over hurdles; probably in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (3/1 +86%) Ca Plane Pour Moi |
3/1(+86%) | (10) Ca Plane Pour Moi 3/1, Had been shaping up quite well for Colm Murphy, but yet to offer much encouragement for his current yard, cheekpieces tried when sixth in 3m Taunton handicap last time. Not written off just yet but is 0-10 over hurdles and needs to up his game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (25/1 -25%) Scottish King |
25/1(-25%) | (1) Scottish King 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden who posted a creditable fourth of 9 in handicap hurdle here (19.9f, soft) in July. Can give a good account back up in trip after a break. Off since respectable fourth here (2m4f) on handicap debut in July but open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (33/1 -10%) Quite The Getaway |
33/1(-10%) | (11) Quite The Getaway 33/1, Made the frame twice from 4 starts in bumpers but offered little in a trio of outings in this sphere for Nigel Twiston-Davies last term. Back with his former yard with plenty to prove after an 11-month absence. Makes handicap debut after a layoff but is worth a glance in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (25/1 -108%) Iontach Cheval |
25/1(-108%) | (2) Iontach Cheval 25/1, Course winner but he came in last of 7 in handicap hurdle at Ludlow (15.8f, soft) 36 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Unreliable sort. Ran okay on seasonal debut (2m) but well beaten since and has stamina to prove today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/1 +0%) Moor End |
11/1(+0%) | (8) Moor End 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who resumed from 7 months off with a good third of 16 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (20.4f, soft) 28 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up. Kept on for third over 2m4f on seasonal/handicap debut; interesting over new trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (12/1 +52%) Dish Of The Day |
12/1(+52%) | (4) Dish Of The Day 12/1, Yet to fire this term, only sixth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (20f, heavy) 41 days ago. Needs to take a big step forward. Beaten about 31l on last month's handicap debut (2m4f) but tries a new trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (13/2 -30%) All Under Control |
13/2(-30%) | (13) All Under Control 13/2, Well supported and much improved on her second run for current yard when landing 9-runner handicap hurdle at Fontwell (21.8f, soft) 21 days ago. Up 5 lb but big shout once more. Battled well for Fontwell win three weeks ago and still has low mileage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (16/1 -33%) Clovis Boy |
16/1(-33%) | (3) Clovis Boy 16/1, A dual hurdles winner last term and he got back on track when seventh of 16 in handicap at Hexham (23.3f, soft) 20 days ago. Needs considering. Dual winner last season (2m4f/2m7f) and may still have more to offer this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (18/1 -50%) Lady Harriett |
18/1(-50%) | (12) Lady Harriett 18/1, Opened her account at Ffos Las in November but only seventh of 10 in handicap there (20f, heavy) 41 days ago. Sort to bounce back though. Returned to form in new headgear two starts ago but well beaten since; hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (22/1 -238%) Hill Of Scarriff |
22/1(-238%) | (14) Hill Of Scarriff 22/1, Successful on sole outing in points. Always behind in 3 starts over hurdles but type to do better in handicaps now stepped up in trip. No forlorn hope. Point winner; well beaten in three novice/maiden hurdles but may fare better in handicaps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Although point-to-point winner HILL OF SCARRIFF hasn't cut much ice in three qualifying runs over hurdles, the daughter of Schiaparelli makes plenty of appeal going up in distance. An opening mark of 83 looks workable and she may have too much for last-time-out winners Twp Stori and All Under Control. The latter is feared most after showing a willing attitude to score at Fontwell earlier this month.
ALL UNDER CONTROL took a big step forward for her new handler when getting off the mark at Fontwell last time and a 5 lb rise in the weights doesn't look sufficient to prevent her from following up. Course winner Just Chasing May heads the list of dangers, although Clovis Boy, Twp Stori and Moor End all need factoring into this competitive handicap too.
One with significant potential is MOOR END, who moves up in trip after a very promising seasonal/handicap debut over 2m4f this month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
French recruit SAINTE LUCIE has to be given plenty of respect ahead of her Irish debut. On her sole start in her native country, she was third at Auteuil in April and ought to be one of the leading contenders now with Willie Mullins. There was plenty of promise in Young Churchill's third on debut over hurdles at Fairyhouse and he could be the main threat. Chortal was four lengths behind him in fourth that day and there is likely to be more to come from him.
SAINTE LUCIE is from a yard that is having plenty of success this season with similar types and is preferred to Young Churchill and Chortal, who both made promising starts in this sphere when hitting the frame in the same race at Fairyhouse.
A juvenile maiden which may not take too much winning and the Willie Mullins' French recruit SAINTE LUCIE could well be up to the job

200/1(-203%) | (6) Lia Rose 200/1, Fair filly. Winner at Wolverhampton in October. 4/1, good second of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 17 days ago. Faces a very stiff task on her polytrack debut. Improving 3yo filly but she's been thrown in at the deep end here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
ROYAL CHAMPION is an intriguing stable debutant for the Karl Burke team on his return to the UK after a spell in Australia. Although only 10th in the Group 1 Champion Stakes at Flemington last month, a reproduction of his penultimate second in a Group 2 at Moonee Valley is likely to prove too strong for these rivals. Tyrrhenian Sea arrives on the back of a respectable third in a Listed event at Newcastle and he may give his former stablemate most to think about, ahead of Auld Toon Loon.
ROYAL CHAMPION possesses much the best form on offer so is taken to make a winning start for Karl Burke at the chief expense of last year's victor Tyrrhenian Sea. Fantasy Believer and Auld Toon Loon can fight it out for minor honours.
Although ROYAL CHAMPION came up short in Australia, he still ran to a useful level and can make a winning stable/AW debut.

Potentially well handicapped and could easily stage a revival on debut for his new yard. |

14/1(-17%) | (3) Has Troke 14/1, Off the mark over fences when taking 5-runner handicap at Newcastle (23.4f, heavy) in March. Struggled at Hereford final start and at Lingfield on return, however. Three-time winner; performed moderately the last twice and especially so on his comeback. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The hat-trick seeking Pep Talking warrants respect after scoring at Uttoxeter and Sedgefield last month, but a career-high mark of 94 demands more from the six-year-old. With that in mind, fellow last-time-out victor JOHN W CREASY is slightly more compelling. Chris Honour's gelding appreciated the removal of headgear when opening his account at Lingfield 22 days ago and a 6lb rise doesn't look insurmountable. C&D winner Jack Doyen also enters the reckoning.
PEP TALKING made it 2 wins from 3 starts for current yard at Sedgefield 5 weeks ago and should make a bold bid for the hat-trick. Jack Doyen can fill the runner-up spot again.
A few hold chances but BALLYMACKIE makes his handicap debut after facing impossible tasks in his first three chases.

1st (2) (11/4 -38%) Eaton Anne |
11/4(-38%) | (2) Eaton Anne 11/4, Successful sole outing in Irish points and has placed first 3 starts over hurdles, displaying progressive form. Sent off a strong favourite but disappointing at Plumpton last month. Since had a breathing op. One to consider Disappointed last time but was placed on first three hurdling starts; remains of interest. |

2nd (4) (10/3 +56%) Port Or Starboard |
10/3(+56%) | (4) Port Or Starboard 10/3, Fair maiden on Flat who showed a good attitude to get off the mark in this sphere at Exeter in March 2023. Placed all 6 starts that year and off the track a year, he shaped as though retaining all of his ability over C&D 3 weeks ago. Largely consistent in 2023 and returned from one-year layoff with decent run this month. |

3rd (6) (15/2 +46%) The Cypriot |
15/2(+46%) | (6) The Cypriot 15/2, Has shown only poor form over hurdles and dropped away before 2 out under a change of tactics at Ffos Las last month. Tongue strap on down in trip. Shaped well before fading over 2m4f last month; may benefit from this drop back in trip. |

4th (8) (50/1 -127%) Lyle View |
50/1(-127%) | (8) Lyle View 50/1, Runner-up on the last of 3 outings in points and showed a bit on Rules debut at Kelso in October. Suffered heavy defeats since, though, including on handicap debut. Hood fitted back over 2m. Remains unexposed but was pulled up when 40-1 for recent handicap debut. |

5th (3) (40/1 -100%) Victory Club |
40/1(-100%) | (3) Victory Club 40/1, Landed a bumper for Dan Skelton in 2022. Missed whole of following year but runner-up in a Wincanton maiden in March. Probably needed run when last of 16 in Cheltenham handicap last month but didn't fare any better at Lingfield latest. Towards rear throughout at Lingfield this month and now 0-5 over hurdles. |

6th (9) (6/1 +8%) Oneforthefairgreen |
6/1(+8%) | (9) Oneforthefairgreen 6/1, Still to get her head in front but she posted a good second of 8 in handicap hurdle at Leicester, closing all way to line. Never able to land a blow at Exeter since and a visor is now on. Ran well last month, after a break, but not in same form last time; headgear switched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (14/1 -56%) Present Fair |
14/1(-56%) | (1) Present Fair 14/1, Brushed off a disappointing run over fences when winning a C&D handicap a year ago. Followed that with a string of below-par efforts until a fifth-place finish on the back of a breathing op at Worcester in June. May have needed last month's reappearance and he's back in trip. Placed in the summer but weakened quickly here last month; others are less risky. |

8th (10) (28/1 -40%) Mambo Beat |
28/1(-40%) | (10) Mambo Beat 28/1, Fair winner at 10f on Flat but not reached that level in this sphere. Well beaten in a claimer this month and makes only limited appeal on handicap return. |

|F| (7) (18/5 +10%) Dickens |
18/5(+10%) | (7) Dickens 18/5, Fairly useful dual Flat winner. Yet to get near that level over hurdles, often proving too free, as he did on return from1 8 months off at Chepstow. That was a sound effort though and he's in good hands. Ran well when fifth of 14 at Chepstow in October, after a long layoff; enters calculations. |

|PU| (11) (9/1 +25%) Guinessed |
9/1(+25%) | (11) Guinessed 9/1, Poor maiden hurdler who merely plodded on for fourth of 8 on handicap debut in September. Well held when fourth on handicap debut in September but remains unexposed. |

|PU| (13) (40/1 +0%) Galactic Glow |
40/1(+0%) | (13) Galactic Glow 40/1, Modest winner at 10f on the Flat. First form in this sphere when third of 9 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (16.5f, good) but could never land a blow in the mud at Exeter latest. Placed on fast ground last month but well beaten on soft since; not the obvious answer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
PORT OR STARBOARD hasn't won for the best part of two years, but invariably runs well and made a pleasing enough return from the sidelines when fourth here recently. Granted natural progression, he can take advantage of a sliding handicap mark, although Eaton Anne has undergone wind surgery since flopping at Plumpton and better is anticipated. Dropping back from 2m4f could see Present Fair in a better light, while Dickens has to be considered too.
EATON ANNE is bang there on the pick of his form and dangerous if a breathing operation has had the desired effect, with Dickens another to consider.
Consistent 7yo PORT OR STARBOARD (nap) ran well this month, after a one-year layoff, and is taken to exploit a career-low hurdle mark.

1st (4) (7/2 +0%) Ballyadam |
7/2(+0%) | (4) Ballyadam 7/2, Smart hurdler. 25¼ lengths seventh of 8 to Impaire Et Passe in Select Hurdle (6/1) at Sandown (21.5f, good). Off 8 months but represents leading yard ans he's a major player on these terms. Has to be respected getting weight from most of his rivals but ideally wants it softer. |

2nd (1) (8/13 +65%) Saint Sam |
8/13(+65%) | (1) Saint Sam 8/13, High-class chaser. Career best when winning 6-runner Clonmel Oil Chase (6/4) at Clonmel (20.8f, good to soft) 54 days ago by 6½ lengths from Fil Dor, travelling strongly. Smart hurdler who is a danger to all. 2022 winner produced career-best over fences latest; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/3 +17%) Sir Gerhard |
10/3(+17%) | (2) Sir Gerhard 10/3, Smart chaser. C&D winner. Nine wins from 19 NH runs. 39¼ lengths sixth of 7 to Brighterdaysahead in Morgiana Hurdle at this course (16.7f, soft, 18/1) 38 days ago. Should come on plenty for that return. Last year's winner (beat Thedevilscoachman) never ran to same level after; wants it softer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SAINT SAM has been in terrific form of late, mixing hurdling and chasing, and could repeat his victory in this race from 2022. His stablemate Sir Gerhard won the renewal a year ago and could enjoy these calmer waters after finding life difficult in Grade 1 company on his last two starts. Ballyadam is making his seasonal reappearance but cannot be ruled out, while Relieved Of Duties is up in class after putting his rivals to the sword in a maiden hurdle at Cork.
SAINT SAM is on a roll over both sets of obstacles and while conceding 8 lb to an on-song Ballyadam will be no easy task, with that rival making his return to action, he may well be up to the task. Sir Gerhard will doubtless run closer to form this time, too.
Several of these really want softer ground so it could set this up nicely for SAINT SAM, who arrives here on the back of a career-best

7/2(+61%) | (1) Batal Dubai 7/2, 7/1, first run since leaving Harry Charlton when promising fourth of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 19 days ago. Not taken lightly. Frustrating 2024 for former yard; good start for new stable this month; 7f worth a crack. |

22/1(+45%) | (5) Desert Doctor 22/1, Course winner. 80/1, tenth of 13 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 26 days ago. Others more persuasive. Second in this race 12 months ago but not come close to that level in three runs in 2024. |

5th (3) (11/2 +15%) Revolutionise |
11/2(+15%) | (3) Revolutionise 11/2, 3 wins from 21 runs this year. Latest win at Chelmsford City in November. Creditable second of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 25/1) 5 days ago. Well in the mix. Comes here in form but he's 0-7 at the track and minor money perhaps his best hope. |

6th (10) (8/1 -23%) Extrication |
8/1(-23%) | (10) Extrication 8/1, 9/2, creditable 1¼ lengths fourth of 10 to Revolutionise in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 47 days ago, finishing well. Merits consideration. 0-8 but he has performed with credit in 7f handicaps at Chelmsford the last twice. |

80/1(-142%) | (12) Dion Baker 80/1, 3 wins from 24 runs this year. Latest win at Yarmouth in August. 50/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 26 days ago so needs to bounce back. Three turf wins this year but 0-21 on AW and could help set this up for a finisher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 -264%) Port Road |
40/1(-264%) | (7) Port Road 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 14/1, creditable fifth of 12 in novice at Kempton (8f) 78 days ago, better placed than most. First run for yard after leaving John Butler and not discounted on his handicap bow. Promise on AW for J Butler; sold for 40,000gns in October; competitive race on h'cap debut. |

9th (11) (28/1 -180%) Mojomaker |
28/1(-180%) | (11) Mojomaker 28/1, One win from 25 Flat runs. 14/1, respectable fourth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 17 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Can give a good account. Promising return in October but less good twice since; up in trip with new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (6/1 +8%) Justcallmepete |
6/1(+8%) | (4) Justcallmepete 6/1, Course winner. Latest win at Newbury in September. 9/1, good second of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 12 days ago. Can make his presence felt once more. Good 2nd at Southwell 12 days ago; up 2lb but he's run well in both visits to Lingfield. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (20/1 -186%) Zandita |
20/1(-186%) | (6) Zandita 20/1, C&D winner. 7/4, good second of 10 in novice at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 22 days ago, slowly away. Much respected on her handicap debut. C&D win on debut one year ago; second on belated return but needs more now handicapping. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Narrowly denied in her bid to remain unbeaten at Wolverhampton earlier in the month, the unexposed ZANDITA could be well treated off a mark of 76 on her handicap debut and she can regain the winning thread. Revolutionise is another with valid form claims, along with the recent Southwell runner-up Justcallmepete. Monsieur Beaulieu is also noted, having done well since arriving from France.
This is wide open but MONSIEUR BEAULIEU rates just the pick of the weights on the back of his very good recent Southwell second so edges the vote. Batal Dubai made a promising start for his new yard when fourth at Chelmsford City and heads the list of dangers, although the likes of Extrication, Thapa VC, Revolutionise and Zandita all need factoring in too.
He's been expensive to follow this year but BATAL DUBAI is on a dangerous mark and 7f looks an avenue well worth exploring.

11/1(-120%) | (1) Jatiluwih 11/1, Is a long time without a win but ran creditably in a small-field handicap at Lingfield (23f, good) last month and has been dropped another 1 lb. Considered. Ages since he won and it's questionable what he's achieved in small fields the last twice. |

7th (6) (9/1 +10%) Spitalfield |
9/1(+10%) | (6) Spitalfield 9/1, Opened his account at Ffos Las (23.9f) in May. Has never been a fluent jumper and fell last (running with credit in fourth) in 25f Hereford handicap 20 days ago. Not discounted. Latest run was quite encouraging; well handicapped with Benjamin Macey taking off 10lb. |

20/1(-82%) | (7) Barricane 20/1, Scored over 25f at Huntingdon in February but he came in last of 7 here on his return from 8 months off 41 days ago. Usual headgear goes back on now so no surprise if he got back on track. Four-time hurdle winner; 2m3f on good to soft wasn't ideal after a break last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (125/1 -213%) Grillon De Monty |
125/1(-213%) | (8) Grillon De Monty 125/1, Lightly-raced winning hurdler for Dan Skelton when last seen out in early 2023. Back from 19 months off with his fitness to prove for a new yard. Makes stable debut after a long absence and will do well to win this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LAND GENIE offered plenty of encouragement on his stable bow when a staying-on second over an inadequate 2m5f at Exeter 25 days ago. Although a 5lb higher mark seems on the harsh side, Dan Skelton's charge looks sure to be suited by this trip. The biggest threat may emerge from the downgraded Jatiluwih, but Spitalfield could also go close if his stamina doesn't ebb away.
LAND GENIE caught the eye on his first run for Dan Skelton when runner-up at Exeter and can go one better with this longer trip very much in his favour. In-form Jatiluwih is feared most off a handy-looking mark, while Barricane, Chris Cool and Sporty Jim also enter calculations.
Returning to further looks a big plus for LAND GENIE who stuck to his guns to go close over 2m5f at Exeter on his stable debut.

12/1(-41%) | (6) Ali Star Bert 12/1, Three-time 3m chase winner in the mud last season. Up and down this term but when close at Southwell 2 weeks ago so needs considering. Won over hurdles and fences here; mostly in good form at 3m; has less to prove than most. |

|PU| (7) (15/2 -25%) Dusautior |
15/2(-25%) | (7) Dusautior 15/2, Won 3m novice handicap chase at Bangor in April and back to form when placed last 2 starts. Not taken lightly. Had wind op since good 3rd over 3m2f; handy weights turnaround with 2nd Croagh Patrick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (25/1 -257%) Croagh Patrick |
25/1(-257%) | (10) Croagh Patrick 25/1, Ended long losing run at Carlisle 16 days ago but not an obvious one to follow up off 8 lb higher. Still well weighted despite going back up 8lb for recent 3m2f win; that was a slog though. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CROAGH PATRICK deservedly regained the winning thread with a taking performance over further at Carlisle last time out, and an 8lb rise for that success looks manageable. He can follow up, with Dusautior looking best placed to chase him home having undergone wind surgery since a creditable placed effort at Carlisle. A determined winner in March at Chepstow when last in action, Shady B is capable of being in the shake-up as well.
This looks an open event with the vote going to GROVE ROAD making his first start over fences for his current stable. Jo Lescribaa offered plenty to work on when third on his chase bow/return at Ludlow and is another to consider, while Myfanwy's Magic is an interesting chase debutant.
Dusautior has to be respected on his form with Croagh Patrick at Carlisle but ALI STAR BERT might be the one today.

25/1(+24%) | (4) Your Honor 25/1, 33/1, twelfth of 19 in handicap at Navan (14f, good to soft) 69 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Fairly useful hurdler so not discounted. Front-runner likes it softer and unproven over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (33/1 +18%) Semblance Of Order |
33/1(+18%) | (7) Semblance Of Order 33/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Course winner. 33/1, fell 1st in handicap hurdle at Thurles (16.1f, good) 10 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Juvenile maiden winner here last season but form since leaves him with plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (14/1 +58%) Getaway Charlie |
14/1(+58%) | (2) Getaway Charlie 14/1, Course winner. Fell 3rd in handicap hurdle at this course (19.4f, soft, 33/1) 38 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Early faller here last month after a break; hard to be confident in. |

|U| (10) (11/4 +45%) The Nagger Reidy |
11/4(+45%) | (10) The Nagger Reidy 11/4, Most progressive since sent handicapping, scoring at Listowel before an excellent second of 15 at Tipperary (20.4f, soft) 39 days ago. Has leading claims with that form working out well. Tipperary 2nd franked since; 5lb rise manageable and big chance if handling quicker ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (11/2 +21%) In For The Night |
11/2(+21%) | (9) In For The Night 11/2, Winner in hurdle at Gowran in October. Good 4¾ lengths second of 24 to Farmers Lodge in handicap hurdle (15/2) at Fairyhouse (20.2f, good) 31 days ago, no match for winner. Can make presence felt. Fairyhouse second to Farmers Lodge and prospects now on revised terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (40/1 -21%) Wajaaha |
40/1(-21%) | (8) Wajaaha 40/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Eighth of 18 in handicap hurdle at Thurles (16.1f, good, 33/1) 10 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Recent hurdles run at Thurles leaves him with plenty to find; tongue-tie tried. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A winner on handicap debut at Listowel two starts back, THE NAGGER REIDY was clear of the remainder when narrowly beaten over 2m4f at Tipperary last month. The horse that beat him followed up at Leopardstown a few days ago and he can defy a 5lb hike under in-form rider J J Slevin. Farmers Lodge was a warm order when easily beating In For The Night in a 24-runner Fairyhouse handicap. He has been heavily penalised for that success but is open to more improvement.
THE NAGGER REIDY arrives firmly on the up so gets a confident vote to quickly resume winning ways on the back of his excellent Tipperary second last time out. Farmers Lodge ran out an easy winner at Fairyhouse last month so should ensure Stephen Carey's 5-y-o doesn't have things all his own way though. In For The Night and Stormbreaker appeal as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
Tipperary second THE NAGGER REIDY looks well handicapped still and form has been franked since

1st (5) (4/1 -14%) Rebel Empire |
4/1(-14%) | (5) Rebel Empire 4/1, Career best to date (in first-time tongue tie, now retained) when winning 10-runner handicap at Southwell (6f), easily. Up 9 lb but excellent second at the same venue on Sunday (6f), travelled well and came to win race but just run out of it late on. Lost little in defeat there and big chance. Easy win dropped to Class 6 12 days ago; good 2nd on Sunday; up in class but improving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (40/1 -21%) Fai Fai |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Fai Fai 40/1, C&D winner. Had a breathing operation before latest run, went without headgear and wasn't seen to best effect when eighth of 13 in handicap (20/1) at Chelmsford City (6f) 12 days ago. Keen and forced wide into home straight that day. Races from out of the handicap here. Two wins in 2024 (including C&D) but he's 12lb out of the weights and looks vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (15/2 +46%) Lequinto |
15/2(+46%) | (8) Lequinto 15/2, Quirky sort. Shaped better than the bare result when sixth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 14 days ago, raced keenly and found little late on. Handicap mark continues to fall and positive jockey booking for a yard worth noting when there is a market move. Not hit top form this year but he's on a lowly mark and recent efforts have offered hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/2 -17%) Supreme King |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Supreme King 7/2, Well-backed off 11-week break when producing career best performance, winning 7-runner handicap at this C&D (AW, 9/2) 9 days ago, easing clear. Not ruled out under a penalty. Bolted up over C&D nine days ago; looks well in under a penalty and he's high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (10/3 +49%) Mart |
10/3(+49%) | (6) Mart 10/3, C&D winner. 3 wins from 16 runs this year, the latest at Brighton in September. Last run was a step in the right direction when1¾ lengths seventh of 12 to Sovereign Knight in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago, awkward away and never nearer from off the pace. Back below last winning mark now. Good record over C&D; dangerous mark; had an excuse (awkward start) latest; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (14/1 -75%) Dashing Harry |
14/1(-75%) | (3) Dashing Harry 14/1, Latest win at Southwell in November. Not at his best when sixth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 3/1) 17 days ago, racing too keenly. Hooded now and of interest if headgear has the desired effect. 5f win at Southwell last month; come up short in Class 4 events the last twice; now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (10/1 +0%) Sovereign Knight |
10/1(+0%) | (4) Sovereign Knight 10/1, C&D winner. Three wins from 11 runs this year, posting a career best when landing his latest win at Lingfield earlier this month. Not at his best when 6¼ lengths fifth of 7 to Supreme King in handicap at this C&D 9 days ago, raced wide and helped force strong gallop. Conditions to suit but needs to rebound from a lesser effort here nine days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (5/1 -11%) Acklam Express |
5/1(-11%) | (1) Acklam Express 5/1, Latest win at Salisbury in June. Solid effort when third of 8 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 11 days ago (wore cheekpieces for the first time). Headgear stays on as he steps up in trip and down in class. Should run well again. Running creditably on AW this winter; rare 6f run today; drop in class will help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A comfortable winner over C&D recently, SUPREME KING is turned out under a 5lb penalty and that may not be enough to prevent him from landing the double. David Evans' charge gets the vote ahead Acklam Express, who has been placed on two of his last three starts over 5f and may appreciate going up in distance. Dashing Harry is another to consider.
REBEL EMPIRE has turned a corner in his last couple of runs and if taking up this engagement following an excellent second on Sunday, he is the one who appeals the most. Although not the most straightforward, Acklam Express has done little wrong in three runs on the AW this winter and rates as the main danger. Supreme King is respected under a penalty while any market support for Lequinto would be significant.
Supreme King looks well in under a penalty but MART (nap) had an excuse last time and he can enhance his good record over C&D.

1st (8) (14/1 -115%) Ideallko |
14/1(-115%) | (8) Ideallko 14/1, Has improved for the switch to chasing, striking at Ffos Las and Plumpton last autumn. Went close again in 4-runner handicap chase at Doncaster (19f) in March but below form when fourth of 5 in handicap chase at Fontwell later that month but not ruled out on return. Won 2nd and 3rd chases in October 2023; completed 4 times since; can go well fresh. |

2nd (5) (14/1 -40%) Stick With Me Sam |
14/1(-40%) | (5) Stick With Me Sam 14/1, Related to plenty of winners and pair of handicap hurdle exploits not devoid of encouragement. However, discouraging start in this sphere when sixth of 8 in handicap chase at Lingfield (16f, good to soft) on debut over fences 33 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Has had very few chances but soundly beaten in handicaps over hurdles/fences of late. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 +30%) Begin The Luck |
7/2(+30%) | (1) Begin The Luck 7/2, Deservedly got his head back in front when capitalising on a lower hurdles mark at Stratford (18.7f, heavy) in October. Made the frame on 2 of his 3 starts since, albeit seeming to find the test inadequate when third of 5 in handicap chase at Leicester (15.9f) 3 days ago. Ended losing run back hurdling in October; vulnerable for the win on chase defeats since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (16/1 -220%) Ballywood |
16/1(-220%) | (2) Ballywood 16/1, 10-y-o who evidently isn't the force of old but tumbled in the weights and best effort for present yard when second of 8 in handicap chase at Market Rasen (19.2f) 26 days ago, collared final 100 yds but clear of rest. Respected with a repeat. Formerly smart; off three years; was out of sorts but has a very low mark and 2nd latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (10/1 +17%) J'habite En France |
10/1(+17%) | (9) J'habite En France 10/1, Regressive over hurdles and offered little both starts over fences upon returning this winter. Needs to step up plenty. Odd glimmer of ability but handicap hurdle/chase form doesn't pass muster; first 2m run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (12/1 -20%) Abaya Du Mathan |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Abaya Du Mathan 12/1, Veteran who capitalised on some mercy from the assessor when winning 7-runner C&D handicap at the start of the month. Struggled to make an impact in a stronger race when fifth of 8 in handicap chase at Hereford (2m) 10 days ago but this rates more suitable. Southwell winner over 2m this month; more on his plate latest; can play a part here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (13/2 +7%) Johnny Mac |
13/2(+7%) | (6) Johnny Mac 13/2, Completed a hat-trick for his current yard at Leicester in January but yet to scale same heights so far this term, third of 5 in handicap chase at Leicester (15.9f, soft) 26 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Hat-trick in 2m chases last midwinter; a long way below best since; cheekpieces added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (11/1 +39%) You Say Nothing |
11/1(+39%) | (4) You Say Nothing 11/1, Exploits decidedly mixed since last win and he again ran poorly when pulled up in handicap chase at Exeter (19.2f) 12 days ago. Handicapper has relinquished his grip further but he needs to display more positive signs before becoming of interest. Pulled up in 3 of his last 6 outings; plunging down weights but major reservations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (7) (11/4 +0%) Pescatorius |
11/4(+0%) | (7) Pescatorius 11/4, Getaway gelding who capitalised on falling mark to shed maiden tag in 6-runner handicap chase at Catterick (15.7f, good) 3 days ago, jumping on 3 out and eased late on. Needs considering under a penalty. Impressive winner over 1m7f (good) on Saturday; good chance if coping with soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (50/1 -25%) Lonimoss Bareliere |
50/1(-25%) | (11) Lonimoss Bareliere 50/1, Long-standing maiden who excelled himself from out of the weights when second at Stratford in July. However, exploits have been predictably mixed both starts since and he's likely to find a few too good again. Placed several times but still a maiden and limited appeal despite his low weight. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Only worn down after the last when second over 2m3f at Market Rasen last time out, BALLYWOOD should be suited by dropping back in trip on this occasion. The 10-year-old can regain the winning thread at the main expense of Abaya Du Mathan, who has strong claims on his success at Southwell two starts ago. A relatively consistent sort since scoring at Stratford in October, Begin The Luck is another to consider.
PESCATORIUS was well served by a switch to positive tactics/return to 2m when shedding the maiden tag over fences at Catterick 3 days ago and he could be the way to go in his follow-up bid under a penalty. Ballywood, following an encouraging second at Market Rasen, and Abaya du Mathan are others to consider.
This is a quick return for PESCATORIUS after his Saturday win but he didn't seem to have a hard race and is taken to defy the penalty.

1st (9) (3/1 +54%) Taras Halls |
3/1(+54%) | (9) Taras Halls 3/1, Bumper winner who was winless over hurdles but respectable start over larger obstacles, 13 lengths second of 8 to Knockanore in handicap chase at this C&D (heavy, 4/1) 11 days ago. Not taken lightly provided he brushes up his jumping. Left behind by Knockanore when second over C&D 11 days ago but that was still a good run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (17/2 +15%) Lime Drop |
17/2(+15%) | (6) Lime Drop 17/2, Filled the runner-up spot 5 times over fences before deservedly getting off the mark over 2m here in November. Creditable effort from revised mark when third at Hereford (2m) 3 weeks ago and she ought to be competitive again back at this longer trip. More exposed than most of these over fences but in good form; probably won't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (3/1 -9%) Knockanore |
3/1(-9%) | (3) Knockanore 3/1, A fairly useful winning hurdler who returned to the pick of his form in that sphere when resuming winning ways in 8-runner C&D handicap 11 days ago, by 13 lengths from Taras Halls. Definite claims with a repeat despite 10 lb higher mark to contend with. Back in prime form now and drew 13l clear of Taras Hall over C&D 11 days ago. |

4th (1) (7/2 0%) I'm Ravenous |
7/2(0%) | (1) I'm Ravenous 7/2, Won a Sedgefield maiden hurdle in October and followed up on his chase and handicap debut at Warwick (2½m, good) in November. Similar form when runner-up at Doncaster (19f) later that month and respected for yard who continue in good form. Made all on chase/handicap debut in November and ran well in defeat later that month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (16/1 +20%) Ito Ditto |
16/1(+20%) | (2) Ito Ditto 16/1, Much improved last term, registering a third victory over hurdles in handicap at Lingfield (19.5f, heavy) in March. However, pulled up both starts over fences since returning in October and he has it to prove at present. Three-time hurdle winner but stopped quickly and was pulled up in first two chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (5/1 +23%) Itsnoteasy |
5/1(+23%) | (7) Itsnoteasy 5/1, £100,000 recruit from the Irish pointing field who made it third time lucky in 2½m maiden hurdle here 12 months ago. Operating below best in pair of handicaps so far this winter but this switch to chasing could well see him in a much better light now. One to monitor in the betting for clues. Course winner over hurdles last season and also has a point success on his CV; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (12/1 -71%) Accidental Legend |
12/1(-71%) | (5) Accidental Legend 12/1, Fair hurdler who boasts a fine record here, adding a third course success to his tally over 23f in April. Entitled to be sharper for his reappearance run here 21 days ago and he appeals as the type to make his mark now tackling larger obstacles. 5-17 in hurdles; ran okay on seasonal debut but still on career-high mark for chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (16/1 -129%) Hermes Du Gouet |
16/1(-129%) | (8) Hermes Du Gouet 16/1, Point/hurdles winner and best effort over fences last season when second of 4 in handicap chase at Fontwell (26f, heavy) in March. Ran poorly after 8 months off when pulled up at Hereford (25.2f) 5 weeks ago and blinkers enlisted now. Ended last season with a good run but pulled up on reappearance; blinkers tried today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (100/1 -150%) Slip Of The Tongue |
100/1(-150%) | (4) Slip Of The Tongue 100/1, Ended time with Padraig Roche in Ireland out of sorts and he showed nothing having been easy to back when pulled up back over hurdles at Aintree for new yard last month. Hard to warm to back over larger obstacles. 0-10 over fences in Ireland; pulled up over hurdles on last month's stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
KNOCKANORE opened his account over fences with an impressive success over course and distance. Ryan Potter's charge has scope for further improvement as a chaser and could prove difficult to beat with a conditional jockey helping to ease the burden of a 10lb rise. I'm Ravenous made a bold bid to land a hat-trick when runner-up at Doncaster and another good account looks on the cards, while Lime Drop is in with a shout too.
KNOCKANORE returned to the pick of his form when opening his account in a C&D handicap 11 days ago and a repeat should see him go close again for all the handicapper has certainly had his say. I'm Ravenous and chasing-debutants Accidental Legend and Itsnoteasy are another couple to note.
Preference is for I'M RAVENOUS, who made a bright start to his chasing career last month and probably still has potential.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Ross O'Sullivan fitted a tongue-tie on BISHBASHBOSH when the daughter of Malinas made her stable debut at Naas earlier in the month. On just her second handicap start and after a couple of months off, she put in a good shift and can confirm form with Shing Shilla, who was a place behind her in fifth. Klassman has improved in recent starts and his Thurles conqueror showed up well at Leopardstown on Saturday. Destivelle is a long-standing maiden but has been running creditably of late and might be place material.
KLASSMAN is taken to gain a deserved breakthrough victory at the chief expense of Restless Son who caught the eye when 11th at Limerick last time out. Destivelle, Bishbashbosh and Petit Dejeuner are also in the picture in this very open contest.
BISHBASHBOSH ran a nice race on her debut for Ross O'Sullivan at Naas over this trip and she gets the nod off a 1lb higher mark

1st (10) (11/10 +60%) Paradoxical |
11/10(+60%) | (10) Paradoxical 11/10, Winner at Wolverhampton in December. 7/2, good second of 10 in handicap back at that venue (9.5f) 5 days ago. Definite possibilities back up in trip for yard who continue amongst the winners. On the up for new yard and 3lb lower than when pipped by a nose on Boxing Day; big chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/1 -57%) Lost In Time |
11/1(-57%) | (6) Lost In Time 11/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Yarmouth in October. 11/2, good second of 12 in handicap at this course (10f, AW) 28 days ago, keeping on. Enters calculations back at this longer trip. C&D winner; good second here last time (hampered by winner); should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (16/1 -146%) Fullforward |
16/1(-146%) | (8) Fullforward 16/1, Latest win at Brighton in October. Good second of 12 in handicap (7/1) at Kempton (12f) 57 days ago, conceding first run. That was yet another solid effort and he's one to consider despite being nudged back up 2 lb. Second in this race last year off 1lb higher; runner-up at Kempton latest; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (14/1 +13%) Seraphic |
14/1(+13%) | (2) Seraphic 14/1, Winner at Wolverhampton in October. 12/1, not disgraced when sixth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 50 days ago, hanging left from over 1f out. Others appeal more for win purposes. Popped up at Wolverhampton in October for today's rider; not quite so good twice since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (14/1 +0%) Kojin |
14/1(+0%) | (5) Kojin 14/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in October. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f, 8/1) 11 days ago, fading over 1f out. Each-way claims with the visor back on. Chance on this year's best but he's raced too freely on last 2 starts; headgear change a +. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 -38%) The Colorist |
11/1(-38%) | (3) The Colorist 11/1, Shed maiden tag with cheekpieces fitted over C&D in September. Respectable fourth next time but didn't convince with his application early when sixth of 11 in handicap (9/2) returned to this C&D 27 days ago. C&D win in September; not quite so good twice since; stable also runs Pablo Prince. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (8/1 +56%) Pablo Prince |
8/1(+56%) | (9) Pablo Prince 8/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win at Kempton in September. Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap (25/1) at this C&D (AW) 40 days ago, never able to land a blow on the back of a tardy start. Remains on a workable mark but he needs to brush up on his starts. Conditions to suit and he'll appreciate the return to Class 6 company; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (9/1 +25%) Beau Vintage |
9/1(+25%) | (4) Beau Vintage 9/1, Remains a maiden after 16 Flat runs. Bit below form seventh of 12 in handicap at this course (13f, AW, 7/1) 42 days ago, weakening before final 1f. Pick of his efforts this year give him claims of getting involved. Exposed maiden; not at best the last twice and others are preferred in a competitive race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (66/1 -136%) Gentle Fire |
66/1(-136%) | (12) Gentle Fire 66/1, Dual winner, both occasions back from an absence but his latest effort after 7 months off/for new yard when seventh of 8 in handicap (33/1) at Southwell (14.1f) in November was a low-key display. Needs to leave that well behind. Possible new yard will coax her back to form but her stable debut was a modest run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (15/2 -15%) Forest Haze |
15/2(-15%) | (1) Forest Haze 15/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 100/1, fifth of 6 in novice at Chelmsford City (7f) 47 days ago. Significantly up in trip for this handicap debut and needs to raise her game. Upped in trip for her handicap debut; not solid but needs a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (28/1 -75%) Keen Interest |
28/1(-75%) | (11) Keen Interest 28/1, Unreliable individual. 16/1, not disgraced when 5¾ lengths sixth of 10 to Paradoxical in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 15 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Back up in trip. Others more persuasive. Two wins in recent months; below par last time and he needs a full revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A slightly unlucky second when slowly away and beaten a neck here over 1m2f earlier in the month, LOST IN TIME should appreciate going back up in trip and he gets the vote off 1lb higher. Narrowly denied at Wolverhampton last time out, Paradoxical can give him the most think about, while Kojin and The Colorist cannot be ruled out either.
Successful on his penultimate start, PARADOXICAL ran another solid race when just touched off at Wolverhampton 5 days ago and he looks to hold sound claims back up in trip, with his yard continuing amongst the winners. Fullforward and Lost In Time are others fancied to play lead roles. Beau Vintage also makes each-way appeal.
Lost In Time and PARADOXICAL appeal most in a competitive race. The latter is preferred despite still having his stamina to prove.

Strong in the betting and while he was beaten a long way in third on debut at Chepstow, that was a warm race. Could be a different proposition. Well held when third at Chepstow but that was a promising first run and he should improve. |

The James Owen stable can do little wrong at present, and BIG BERT can put his experience to good use following a highly-promising second on his Rules debut at Carlisle earlier in the month. The son of Affinisea travelled well throughout that contest and this track should suit as he looks to see off valuable point-to-point recruit No Drama This End, who could be a nice prospect for the Paul Nicholls team. A well-related sort, Keops Des Bordes is another newcomer to note for a stable with an excellent record here.
CINQUENTA didn't achieve a great deal on debut at Chepstow in October but that was a deeper-looking bumper than this one and the market support pre-race suggests much better was expected. He's chanced to make a leap forward at the expense of Big Bert and point-winners Keops des Bordes and No Drama This End.
This could be a strong bumper. KEOPS DES BORDES has to be of strong interest given how the form of his point win has worked out.

2nd (5) (5/1 -25%) Diamonds Galore |
5/1(-25%) | (5) Diamonds Galore 5/1, €50,000 3-y-o, Diamond Boy filly. Strong in the betting but never looked like justifying the confidence behind her when sixth of 11 in bumper at Warwick (16f, soft, 13/8) on debut. Still, she represents a top outfit so better expected. Only sixth when warm favourite for debut but can improve if she settles better here. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Annie Hathaway showed plenty of promise when second at Warwick on her racecourse debut. She should confirm superiority over Diamonds Galore, who could only manage sixth on that occasion but is a likely improver. A winner between the flags, LETS MINGLE faced a tough task in a competitive bumper at Aintree in October. This could prove more her level and she gets the vote.
ANNIE HATHAWAY found an experienced stablemate too good on debut at Warwick last month but she beat the rest easily enough and a repeat of that may well suffice. Newcomers are feared most, headed by Harmony Heights and A Path To Ronda before market clues.
Recent events suggest ROCK SENSATION bumped into a very good filly when a clear second on her Irish point debut in March.

Gordon Elliott saddles two interesting newcomers in the shape of Kisuton Enki and The Queen Of Zim. Bought for 160,000 euros at the Tattersalls Derby Sale, the former is a half-sister to 11-time winner Yala Enki. A Bective Stud homebred, The Queen Of Zim is a half-sister to high-class stable companion The Yellow Clay. The winner of a point-to-point in May, Bambino Fever is of definite interest on her debut for Willie Mullins, while Sam Curling's Derryville is another leading hope. For a selection it might be worth taking a chance on JOLIE FOLIE. She showed some promise on debut at Navan earlier this month and it'll be interesting to see if she can build on that performance.
Highly likely this will go to a Rules newcomer and before the benefit of market clues, point-winner BAMBINO FEVER is awarded the vote in favour og the Gordon Elliott-trained pair Kisuton Enki and The Queen of Zim.
Gordon Elliott runs Kisuton Enki and THE QUEEN OF ZIM and narrow preference is for the latter, though the market will reveal plenty
